Safari Breeze

I believe for a number of people this fragrance did an immense disservice to itself by not labeling it's notes accurately. I see so many people seemingly confused by what they are smelling because this is a guava heavy fragrance and it's kinda a crime to not list that even if people know it's a clone or inspired by a fragrance with a big guava note. The grapefruit hits in a way that makes it very similar to a tropical drink specifically reminiscent to me of the discontinued peach passion fruit refresher from dunkin, peach sweetness with the zesty tropical tartness of passion fruit. This has that intense tropical sweetness that guava has but the grapefruit gives it this twang that keeps it distinctly tropical but also adds this astringency, zesty, almost greenness that reminds me of how passion fruit or mango can sometimes hit. Don't want to judge people too harshly but I just think when you aren't super familiar with those fruits and you are unguided maybe you would be confused about what you are smelling. This is tropical in a somewhat more niche way than you would expect. Even the coconut is like a heavy disservice there's no heavy coconut vibe at all. It's like they just phoned it in and said yeah just put some tropical bullshit people will get it. But they don't. This isn't some pina colada or a fruit bowl with a few pineapple chunks this is basically a variety of non standard tropical fruits if you're unfamiliar with guava, passion fruit, and mango this will surprise you because this just slaps you in the face unapologetically hard with actual tropical fruits. The push this gives of that unique tropical edge is peak to me and I'm only slightly insulted to see people typing dumb shit cuz they've never tried like a guava cheese pastry or something.

Reading through the other reviews, Safari Breeze seems to be one of those fragrances that walks into the room and immediately starts a fight. Some people love it. Some people look at it like it just ruined dinner. Me? I enjoy it. Quite a bit, actually. There’s grapefruit in here. Black currant. Mint. Coconut. On paper, that sounds like somebody raided the tropical section of a hotel minibar and made questionable decisions. But somehow, it works. Together, those notes pull off something strange and unexpected: this almost phantom guava accord that isn’t officially listed, but absolutely feels like it’s there. You can sit with it and pick it apart if you want. Grapefruit here. Mint there. A little creamy coconut slipping through the back door. But at a quick sniff? Guava. Bright, juicy, slightly green, a little mischievous. And the layering? Phenomenal. This thing plays well with others. I don’t really get the “synthetic mess” complaint. Is the citrus photorealistic, freshly sliced, farmer’s-market grapefruit? No. Let’s not get stupid. But it doesn’t smell cheap or offensive to me either. It’s more like a stylized cocktail version of fruit: vivid, sweet, sharp, a little artificial in the way a neon sign over a beach bar is artificial. Not photo realistic. Still enjoyable, and you’ll always want more of it. Polarizing? Absolutely. But sometimes the weird bottle on the table is the one you keep reaching for.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I strongly get Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée vibes here, and it all comes down to that vetiver. I’m not a big fan of vetiver at all, so that already sets the tone for me. I’ve seen so many people hype this fragrance, but no one really mentioned how dominant that vetiver is. From the opening to the drydown, it’s pretty much all I smell, and not much else comes through. It didn’t live up to my expectations. That said, they’re not lying about the performance. This thing is a beast. And to its credit, it smells high quality all the way through, no harsh synthetic notes. In fact, it really reminds me of Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée, which I actually like a lot. But my expectations were completely different. I thought it would lean more in a Vulcan Feu direction, with more coconut and citrus. Instead, it goes a totally different way. And I’m not even getting any mint here. Upd: I let it macerate for a bit and it's just wonderful, now it's my favourite go to fragrance that I use whenever I don't know what to pick, on par with art of Arabia 1,but I pick this one when I want to be a little more playful and better mood

Am i the only one who gets a blueberry muffin vibe from this? To me the black currant/grapefruit comes off as that in the opening. To me it feels like a dried-fruits type of smell which is honestly very refreshing to have in my collection as this is definitely one of the more unique scents ive smelt in a while. This is one of those fragrances that can be worn in the summer nights or days. It suits both occasions. I picked this up at burlington for 34.99$ 100% worth it as this is definitely one of my favorites for the summer as of now! I absolutely love this frag! Blind bought it and not a single regret. It's fresh, citrusy, tropical and woody at the base. Reminds me of Art of Universe but less sweet and less projecting, but it doesn't mean this is a weak performer. Totally worth your money if you like fresh fragrances for warm and hot weather! Also, don't pay attention to negative reviews on a 4+ star fragrance, especially when they share what they think the fragrance smells like, not an objective review. 4+ stars ratings for fragrances mean is a very good option to get. People just like to hate.

I'm a huge fan of Zanzibar and have had a bottle in my collection off and on over the past year. The problem is it's not cheap at £195 for 75ml and given the tropical nature of the scent and living in Scotland, it doesn't make much sense to hold onto such a scent for the few days of the year I'll feel like wearing it. This solves that problem. For me there's no denying the closeness to Zanzibar. It definitely has the pacific-chill-plus-guava vibe that I love about it. Amazing pick up for the price and will be a staple this summer for me.

Incredible Summer scent, a clone of Memoirs Of A Perfume Collector Tales From Zanzibar. It's very tart and fruity. The opening is juicy grapefruit and black currant accompanied by creamy coconut. The heart is spearmint and jasmine which takes the initial fruitiness and cools it off (I get it...breeze). The base is ambery mossy vetiver, which manages to keep the profile from getting overly sweet. This is definitely a vacation fragrance. It reminds me of Vulcan Feu if Vulcan Feu were grapefruit and black currant centric; it's a hit.

Man i picked this up with a quickness once I tried it. I feel like I love it but rarely use it? I really enjoy the smell but im not much of a fruity type fragrance. Im not sure why guava ain't listed, when clearly it hits you from the get go. Makes me think of a tropical hotel pool bar prepping some fruity cocktails. To me I feel it doesn't push off the skin that much after the first half hour, but I can certainly keep smelling it for a long time but more close to the skin.

Fruity and tropical, slightly tart and creamy on the dry down (likely cause of the coconut which isn’t “sun screeny” at all), I get a lot of passionfruit (bright citrusy) and also Guava (sweet, floral, and tart). I really enjoy this scent, is super fresh & addicting. Slightly musky and earthy in the dry down, which does make it lean more masculine.

I usually stay far away from fruity scents. But this one is different. It’s an absolute guava bomb, but it’s not gooey or overly sweet. It has this green, crisp, tropical sharp edge that cuts right through the air. Perfectly balanced, ultra-modern, and surprisingly clean. If you want a tropical vibe but hate the usual sweet mush, this is it. 9/10

Blind bought this based on YouTube reviews because I needed a unique summer smell. Feels like I hit the jackpot. The opening is great but the base notes are awesome as well. The mint jasmine and guava create a a very unique smell some say reminds them of the magical plant. 9/10 for me. I wish it projected a little bit more.

Literally one of my favorite and most well-made fragrances out of a large collection. French Avenue hit it out of the park with this one. Super fruity and ripe, not too sweet. If you like fruity frags as a man but don't want to smell too soft and feminine, this one is it.

French Avenue's Safari Breeze is a bright uplifting tropical fragrance. A great value for an extrait de parfum. The longevity is superb and the smell transports you to an island get away. One of the best that French Avenue has to offer.

Their no compression to baccarat here , this is a great fruity scent with soft notes of a fresh amber , compared to tales of Zanzibar its 85% their and for the price u can’t go wrong it’s high quality for what you pay

Smells like Guava tropicana or real fruit juice, Here guava is the main note along with some citrus under tome. Its good for the summer in hot day,with a pleasant descent scent bubble.

Masterpiece. Vacation in a bottle. Will be in heavy rotation when the spring and summer comes. It’s absolutely incredible. Smashing success of a blind buy.

This reminds me of vulcan feu because of its tropical fruitiness. It's kinda like vulcan feu but with a guava and peachy vibe.
