Patagonia

This one is interesting, its fruity floral “fresh spicy” like fragrance and at the same time is woody, its like sum of all the mentioned together above, but at the same time something more than this. It have this luxurious rich fresh spicy or maybe better to say bitter/herbal scent combined with fruity slightly fermented scent with some very small remindings of combo of oriental/oud /fruity like facets which you can smell in many high end perfumes, but its done many times better without any synthetic overexposure or using real fruity or fermented materials to achieve this. I was reading about Paramela flower and it should have also a citrusy aroma, probably this citrusy aroma with combination of woody material of Araucaria is creating this fresh spicy like accord in the composition but also bitter and herbal and floral. I can be wrong, but at first shallow breath it will gives you this, how you deeper smell it there is something dark powdery like without having being really powdery. This “dark powdery” somewhere in the far background is connecting all the nuances together in balanced symphony. I know cedarwood from others Fueguia perfumes, it seems to be same, its somehow smoothing out the composition. Its perfect central meeting point between sharp/fresh/citrusy-hinoky woody bitter herbal masculine and dark fruity “fermented” powdery floral feminine, thus is complete unique & unisex exotic scent. I was wearing it in this winter and it started to be my most worn perfume.

This may be one of the most difficult to describe fragrances in my collection... but it is also one of my most favorite. On me it is pretty intense, and long lasting. Vaguely woody, somewhat coniferous and evergreen, but there’s not a hint of pine, nor of cedar, no spruce, no fir, or any of the other usual suspects in the evergreen line up. It does have the power of a cypress-based fragrance, without the exhausting relentless suffocating quality of some cacophonous conifer fragrances (cough bottega, cough veneta pour homme). Maybe this is what a monkey puzzle tree smells like, but I have not managed to get close enough to one to know for sure (and FYI, they will tear you to shreds). There is also a definite, interesting and wholly unfamiliar (to me) herbal note. Maybe just a hint of leather. Very linear - no weird dry down surprises, doesn’t vanish in ten minutes - pluses in my book. If you are bored with the myriad variations on a theme that clutter the fragrance market and you’re looking for a fairly strong, distinctive, _masculine_ scent, you should try Patagonia. I think it really ought to be spun out into a line of fragrances. Lord knows many lesser fragrances have received the flanker treatment, some to the point of utter ridiculousness.

I tested on paper and it came across very fresh in a different way then you are used to from your French or Italian colognes. Woods yes but mostly green sticky wet plant sap with some interesting aspects I cannot wel explain. The two main players here, Auracaria and Paramela are two extracts I am not familiar with. It is very inviting though and definitely something I would love to wear. This could be a safe blind buy. Then some days later I tested on my skin. On my skin it becomes quite glowing and soft. If I can smell color then this is totally yellow. The yellow of the sun and yellow sweet smelling flowers. Very natural, calming and nice. It turnes more soft sweet and feminine on my skin. Yeah, I feel like I smell like a beautiful young woman now and therefor not for me. It is a beautiful scent. Could definitely be someone’s signature scent. A good example of a scent that is quite different on skin then on paper. I have this experience with most Fueguia 1833 scents I find. I am testing sixteen of their scents atm.

This for me is the absolute PERFECTED iteration of the cold-camphorous-cypress-mountain-smelling DNA. It's a smooooth blend of the woods and resins with an herbal nuance thrown in there. The craziest part about it for me is how it has the texture of something humid and damp, with a very delicate sweetness that makes this fragrance actually comforting. That checks since it incorporates araucaria and not cypress or pine. My apprehension with the pine scents I've run into is that it turns either dry, foot powder-y, or simliar to old furniture. Which works for some poeple! Maybe being in the Philippines/tropical country shaped my preferences. This reminds me of a drizzly morning in the forests of Baguio. It lasts really long on skin and on my clothes. My favorite hands down in the entire house.

Fueguia makes some gorgeous and unique natural fragrances. This lovely woody aromatic is no exception. The perfume has only 3 notes. It opens with the note of austrocedrus, a cypress native to Argentinian forests. The heart is araucaria, a pine like conifer also native to this region. Finally it settles on a note of aromatic paramela, a herbaceous shrub that grows in Chile with soothing tonic properties. This is a very unique scent and takes you deep into the Patagonian forests and has a beautiful herbal spa like effect. Masculine leaning, with moderate projection, sillage and longevity. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorites in my collection. Its a blast of forest sents. Such depth, such beauty. What a compositon. It has a similar dna to Jubilation from Amouage, however, the ingredients are better (no Isoeugenol) and its projection and longevity are better by far. The Resin in this is just havenly. The price is also lower which is insane. Amazing offering from Fueguia, which is starting to become one of my fav houses.

This one's interesting. It's a green botanical scent that I haven't really smelled before. It's woody, slighty citric, a lil bit hinoki-esque, a hint of pine and pepper. I suppose they are trying to convey an aromatic mix or a specific herb representing Patagonia? They are doing pretty well. Though this feels more like a thought-piece rather than something marketable and more of an atmosphere than a perfume, it's still very enjoyable (surprisingly for me, since I usually avoid green scents, but I'd totally wear this one from time to time).
