Chocolate Wasted

Chocolate Wasted gains strength and depth as it ages. My bottle is over 2 years old and the dark chocolate aspect has become darker and less sweet and the coffee note deeper & more like espresso but the color of the juice itself hasn't darkened at all. While I loved it at first sniff, when I first opened my bottle I sensed no rum or woodsy notes but I sure do now! It's as if I've poured in a jigger of rum and carried my cup of coffee outdoors in autumn and am enjoying it on my porch as the leaves drift down from the trees. In a recent live discussion on youtube Jarekhye divulged that the coffee absolute used in Chocolate Wasted takes him a full year to distill and I find that easy to believe given the intensity of the coffee note here. When I bake brownies or chocolate cake I always substitute espresso or strong coffee for the liquid called for in the recipe and find the coffee cuts the sweetness and deepens the chocolate - that's what I sense here in Chocolate Wasted. While absolutely gourmand, Chocolate Wasted is a chocolate/coffee liqueur rather than baked goods or candy. It's definitely one of the least sweet fragrances on offer from Ganache and I love it, but I suppose you already guessed that! Despite the time it takes to prepare the coffee absolute Jarekhye says the enduring popularity of Chocolate Wasted means that it will stay in production & remain on offer. That's great news because I have no other chocolate fragrance that comes close to equaling the tremendous sillage and longevity of Chocolate Wasted.

Freshnfruity have you heard anything from them? It took a long time for my items to ship this spring because the owner was having health problems, but eventually I got everything. And for the prices it was definitely worth the wait.
