So Pink

- OPENING: a burst of freshly-squeezed, sugar-topped pink grapefruit (the whole thing - the citrus fruit juice sprinkled with white sugar, and the slightly-bitter but oh-so-fresh rind) - MIDDLE: slightly-bitter greenery with a lift of white florals - DRY DOWN: the after-taste of a grapefruit (acidic sweetness - like the juice dried on the grapefruit's rind) with the softness of a white floral/greenery whisper The "bitter" and "acidic" aspects are really well done - they all come across as a pleasant "tart", and are hyper-realistic. Take a grapefruit, shave the rind, squeeze the juice, and cut some white florals with the stem and leaves intact... and that's what you have in this bottle. I grew up with a grapefruit tree and white florals in my backyard, and this felt like I stepped out onto my childhood back porch again - experiencing each part. Combined, the notes are refreshing and perfect for the heat of spring and summer - and the nostalgia factor alone (this was one of my signature scents as a teen) is worth hunting down a bottle! ***NOTE: The "white-label" bottles are NOT the same as the original formula - they're missing a lot of the floral/greenery, and also have a slightly onion-y/B.O. type of note in the dry-down. The following packaging options are the original formula: - the pink labels on glass bottles (like what's pictured here) - the clear glass bottles with the white and pink boxes - the all-pink metal bottles

This is a sucessful blind buy for me! At first, the "so pink" intrigues me, indeed -- it screems grapefruit! The initial spray is what i like most.. the spiciness of citrus which brings freshness all day long.. energizing and feminine at the same time. The drydown blends nicely with my body chemistry and fits so well in tropic places. Sadly it can only last for almost an hour on my skin.. but amazing how it lasted on fabric - more than 4 days! :)

These Gap scents were all the rage back in the day. I think my favorite was this one because it was so perky girly. The immediate scent of grapefruit makes you feel like a summer morning. At least it made me feel that way. I smelled the lily more than the sweet pea but you can totally smell all the notes in the fragrance! I totally confess to purchasing this scent not too long ago and I used the whole bottle. The love never gets old.

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A DUPE: Clean's "Flower Fresh" is VERY similar to Gap So Pink! Has a near-identical grapefruit, with more of a white floral DNA - and some other key differences (see my review of "Flower Fresh" for a breakdown). But Flower Fresh does remind me a bit of Gap So Pink when wearing, has a very similar refreshing splash of sweet pink grapefruit, and it's a lot more affordable/easier to find!

Light, clean, and not overly ambitious. This scent is a beautiful grapefruit in a bottle. It gives me energy on the warm Louisiana days, and the citrus is a great energy lifter. In the league with D&G Light Blue in terms of great citrus scents.

Been wearing this for years, I love everything about this. Smells great on my skin, wish it lasted a bit longer there. Stays on clothes for a good amount of time though.

One of my favorite perfumes for my wife. Doesn't last long but when applied majestic. We still have a half bottle. Too bad it was discontinued.

This was my signature scent for awhile, back when I was 19. I don't remember exactly how I came across it. It might've been a gift from my mom. I had forgotten about it for awhile after I had used it up, so when I found it again inside a Gap outlet store while shopping with a friend a few years later, I had to sniff it. Immediately, all these memories from the summer of 2001 came flooding back to me...camping in the Catskills of New York with my best friend, going out to the 18 and over club in Springfield, MA every Thursday night, staying out all night with my group of friends, an old fling that I had that didn't amount to anything serious. Even the music that I used to listen to started playing vividly in my head. Almost immediately I was pulling out my wallet to purchase it. Since then, I have moved on to other summer scents that I prefer, but this was a great summer scent from that time in my life, when I was still innocent with the excitement of finally becoming an adult. When my 21st birthday was still a year away and I pretty much had my whole life in front of me and there were endless possibilities. As for the scent, to me it smells like grapefruit sprinkled with sugar. Sweet, citrusy and perfect for a casual summer day.

i still have this from childhood. it was the only perfume i used in middle school, and my mom picked it out. it is a vibrant citrus scent, gently floral, and energetic. definitely a spring & summertime scent. and yet, i grew up in the foggiest of places. it constantly rained here. the scent reminds me of listening to modest mouse on the family computer & all of the built up anxiety on the morning drive to school.

yooooo I wore this back in high school, haven't actually smelled it in years!! but I remember loving this perfume, this was my first "signature" scent lol, half of the girls in my class were either wearing this or "Lovespell" by VS. If you know, you know. This was so citrusy, uncomplicated and easy to wear. I do remember buying at least 2 more bottles of this because I wore it every day :)

This was my signature scent in college, and while I don't miss it as I've outgrown this scent profile, I have some of the happiest memories with this pretty, bright, fresh, and clean scent. The burst of sweetened grapefruit at first spray was the perfect wake up call for 8am classes, and the dry down was the quintessential pretty girl scent. I loved her, and she was good to me.

Smells strongly of grapefruit, to the point where the scent is a little sour. Refreshing, yes. Non-offensive, yes. It is clean and fresh, but like one of the previous comments, maybe it shouldn't have been named So Pink since it is a very strong citrus. Neutral scent, but nothing special.

Whenever I'd smell this memorise of my sophir more year of high school would just rush back. Memories of that and the striped headband I'd bought on the same shopping trip and would wear with this perfume

I wore this a lot when I was in high school. I still find it pleasant-- very pink lemonade. But not an every day scent. I might wear it a few times to ring in spring and summer this year.

As a teenager, I loved So Pink and managed to work my way through two tall perfume bottles as well as a few body sprays. I moved on from So Pink once I hit my late teens, and recently found a new bottle stashed away under my vanity. I remember So Pink being a bright and simple grapefruit scent which was sparkling and uplifting. Upon trying it again today, I found the same grapefruit, but this time it seemed much sweeter than it used to be, and heavily tempered with sweet pea. The sweet pea in this bottle of So Pink serves as a sort of cloyingly sweet midtone, on top of which the grapefruit and citrus play and sparkle. The two notes never completely mesh, so I end up imagining the sweet pea as this villainous, serious note trying to masquerade as vibrant under the dancing citrus notes. To my nose, it ends up making the sweet pea stand out even more rather than hiding it, and makes me unable to enjoy the scent any longer as it is meant to be enjoyed.

I worked for the Gap years ago. My store manager loved So Pink and our store always smelled of it. One might think from the name that So Pink is sugary sweet. It's really not. It's intensely citric with some floral notes. No real development, just gets less alcohol smelling after it dries down.

I get nothing but grapefruit and it's too sharp and chemical. I sprayed it on my hand and couldn't get to the sink fast enough to wash it off. Yikes:(

This was a fresh grapefruit scent at the beginning, but it turned into terrible synthetic smell. I simply can't imagine anyone wearing it. Awful!

More floral to me after a little while. I really wanted to like this, but it smells like the price..cheap.

I was able to snag a bottle of this super cheap from eBay and I had high expectations but this scent is just all grapefruit. I can’t see anyone actually wearing this as a fragrance, I use it as a room spray or after I’ve smoked but I would rather smell like 🍃 than smell like this :(

I worked for Gap several years ago, and I ended up buying a few of their eau de toilettes, including So Pink. I am not a pink grapefruit lover, but blended with soft white florals... this is a winner. I tried this again a few months back after shopping at my former workplace, and the formula appears to be the same gorgeous fragrance (although I can't say that with certainty... it has been 8 years). The catch - and I'm sorry for echoing the other reviews, but there's no getting around it - is that is has very, very poor longevity. On me, it literally lasts five to ten minutes and then it's gone without a trace. The longevity is so poor that even though I love the scent and it's so inexpensive, I will not purchase it again. All the Gap scents I bought had this extremely poor longevity. Dream was another favorite of mine... so pretty... but these just do not last.

Randomly, and I mean randomly, remembered that I used to wear this in highschool and college! So weird to uncover a piece of your own history like that, and I'm sad to say I vaguely remember tossing this at some point when I moved/was over So Pink. What was I thinking? I'm mad at past me, wish I had kept it if only for the nostalgia. I'm bummed to know this was discontinued. I'm following the advice of gourmand_girlie (thank you so much for the tip!) and buying Flower Fresh and hoping for the best! Will let you all know how it goes. Edit: Sadly, Flower Fresh did not live up to So Pink. The best I can say is that they share a distant cousinly spirit. (I left a review for Flower Fresh in case anyone is interested.) It was fun to hope though!

Love it! Love it! Love it! I have being using this perfume over 10 years! It was a x-mas gift from old friend back in my high school years!! I felt in love with it an I use it every day when I get out of the shower ect... My kids alway tell me I smell yummy lol!! Today went to Gap and they give me a bad news it has being discontinued!!! Aaaaahhh no way!! Why!!! Am so sad and depresse!! When I smell this body mist it takes me way back to some good memories!! :/ now what!!! Ebay has them but I feel like is not going to be the real thing!! Am going crazy feel like a part of me is staying behind!!

I'm very picky yet I really like this now and then. I find it so inoffensive and office safe. very light and only lasts a few hours. I don't want all my fumes to move in with me lol. some I just want a casual date. This is nothing like my sigs ie knowing, rive gauche, polo sport women, air loewe, but I do enjoy it now and then for working in healthcare or a dumb reach. Most perfumes I cannot tolerate.

Was looking for something light, fresh, and pretty for after gym class... I wanted something simple, not too complex. This was a good choice. Lots of citrus with fresh floral undertones, not at all sweet. Very natural.

It reminds me of neutregena pink grapefruit facial wash and I prefer neutregena's scent. So pink smells like ammonia water and dirty leather. I don't like it.

Extreme grapefruit but not long lasting. A co worker uses this to mask her cigarette habit but I'm so fond of her, I can't help liking this.

It smells like a pink grapefriut. It very flirty and perfect for spring and summer. I recommend it to very young ladies.
