Acqua di Gioia

This is my signiature perfume. I have worn this since 2023 so for three years now. I have bought tens of other perfumes but nothing comes close to this. I have also never smelled anything similar to this. When i discovered this fragrance i didnt know anything about perfumes as i had only just started wearing perfume and mine at the time was escada flor de sol. I went shopping with my mum and we just wandered into the beauty store and i decided to smell all the perfumes i had seen on tiktok that were popular at the time. I didnt like not one of those popular perfumes. So as i was leaving i saw the display for the armani perfumes and this one just caught my eye and i decided to smell it. And when i tell you it was instant love. Since i didnt know anything’s about perfumes i could not single out a single note in this perfume and i also just didnt think about it. All i knew was that it smelled good and refreshing. A little while later i got it and i have been wearing it ever since. Also my ex boyfriend absolutely loved this perfume. It drove him crazyyyy. Literally. I had him smell some other perfumes i had like good girl supreme, burberry her and some other popular ones but he didnt like none of those. My mom also loves this perfume so much so that she wants to steal it from me. This is my genuine review i just really love this perfume. Even now that i have quite a big collection of perfumes and have smelled hundreds this one still is at the top.

While I was walking around the stores with my sister, I found myself in the perfume section as always. My sister always complains about me trying perfumes all the time. 😂 I made my poor sister wait for minutes and she got really bored because perfumes don't interest her at all. Finally she gave up and I made her smell a few perfumes. It was last August and the weather was very hot. I claimed that some fresh perfumes can have a refreshing effect on people. And I made her smell this perfume. I don't know if she liked it or because I really didn't spend minutes there, she said, you can buy me a gift if you want. It worked. I bought it and we went out. 😂 I saw my sister wearing this fragrance a few times. Maybe she liked it. As for me, I love this fragrance. It has a very fresh and airy scent. It has the indispensable white floral notes and a little woodiness in women's perfumes. It suits a polite lady very well, I think it is a fragrance she can wear in any condition in the summer months. My sister said that the longevity is neither good nor bad. I can easily recommend it to all women as a male preference. In fact, it has such a fresh and relaxing scent that sometimes I even think of wearing it myself.

So light. So airy. I feel like a mermaid that lives in a pearlescent and marvelous water fountain when I wear this. This scent screams green, and it gives a light watermelon undertone even though it isn't listed. I smelled this on a patient I had, asked her what she was wearing, and knew I had to have this scent in my collection. This scent seems to stay on me for HOURS, as I get compliments on it all day, even though after a few hours for me, I seem to go nose-blind, but as long as I still smell so elegant and oceanic to others, I'll take it. Picture this; you are collecting seashells by the coastline of Rhodes in Greece, the pebbly and black sand is rough yet smooth at the same time, the shells shine more than any star, and the water is brighter than the most brilliant cerulean. You will remember this Summer till your very last. End scene. This perfume was made for Summer, and beach trips, although I could see it being a lovely evening scent for dinner. This will be a staple in my Summer collection. 9.8/10.

In my opinion, this perfume is such a beast mode. It permeates through every room. I’m not sure if others relate, but I do think this perfume is such a good bang for your buck. You’ll smell it on yourself and others will be able to smell it too. It smells like you’re going sailing on a Sunday morning. It’s so aquatic and pretty. This perfume is an ode to the ocean’s beauty and grace. I truly do think it’s such a precious, timeless, and young scent. I wouldn’t say it’s mature, but it’s good for a young woman in her late teens or early 20s. It smells so gentle, aquatic, and mesmerizing. I can picture mermaids wearing this. Like in the movie Aquamarine where Sarah Paxton is wearing blue head to toe and puts the talking starfish on as earrings. I can definitely sense that Aquamarine was an Acqua do Gioia girl. Beautiful scent. Encore!!!!!!

This is a fresh, feminine aquatic fragrance that is both salty and floral, which is less common than the strictly floral or the overtly sweet vanilla fragrances that are dominating Western markets right now. I'm familiar with masculine aquatics which are ubiquitous due to their inoffensive, fresh nature. But a squarely feminine fragrance with a citrus opening, a salty heart, a crisp green accord, and freshness that lingers on clothes and skin? What's not to like? Unlike many feminine scents that can be too sweet and inappropriate for warm weather, this one is clean and refreshing. I love this perfume on my wife, and delight being in her scent bubble when she wears it. It's perfect for spring and summer days when you want to feel light and airy.

This is my signature scent. I've been wearing it ever since it was released. It was the first perfume that I really invested in (as a teenager, this felt like a real investment at the time). After wearing it for 10+ years, I have been curious about exploring other scents, which is how I found this website. I do enjoy trying on new scents and switching it up, but Acqua di Gioa will always hold a special place in my heart and I can't imagine another scent taking its place as #1. At some point, it became a part of my identity. It's super fresh and gorgeous. It's young and bright. Imagine having the best day at the beach, sipping mojitos with your besties, going home and taking a shower, and climbing into silk sheets. That's how it makes me feel.

Beautiful freshie, the mint note comes out much later in the drydown. In the beginning it's a little intermixed with the florals and the citrus. But it does come out a little later. It stays more like a sweet mint. That is, I suppose, the sugar cane note which keeps the mint sweet. So it's not a herbal, dry freshie, but actually quite of a sweet one. It's lasting power is actually quite good for a freshie. Normally they don't last long at all, but this is about medium strength. It does smell like something I've smelled from the 90s before, but I don't mind that at all. Pairs amazing with other citrussy scents for layering.

This is the first real perfume I’ve ever got. Everytime I’d go into Sephora or Ulta I’d put some on. My sister ended up buying it for me and I wore it at my wedding. I got so many compliments. It’s very fresh cool crisp & clean with a touch of floral, mint and sweet citrus. Leans unisex. Gives me cool water vibes or nautical voyage but make it feminine lol! But now I’m craving a change. I don’t find myself reaching for it anymore like I’m burnt out from it. I’m wanting something with more depth maybe a fruity floral with a touch of warmth.

Ah, this must be what Mediterranean summer smells like! The combo of the mint with the citrus and floral notes is absolutely delectable and addicting. This scent is perfect for summer and spring. Really fresh and citrusy. The smell of it makes me thirsty for an ice cold lemonade while laying on a beach on an island somewhere. This mixes well with my skin chemistry. I can spray it on me and it lasts a long time. I can spray it on and still smell it on my skin 12+ hours later. This is an absolute must have for the upcoming warm weather!

My ride or die. Nothing but love for this beautiful fresh scent. The lemon and mint open the scent which makes it smell not quite like either. A watery, clean, lightly floral experience, summer in a bottle. Sophisticated enough for a white table cloth dinner on the beach at a swanky resort, but fresh and light enough for everyday, especially summer. This scent is not loud, it is gorgeously light. Reminds me of a tray of fresh citrus served on a sailboat cruise in the Mediterranean at sunset. A mid-day reapplication may be necessary.

Agree it's a bit screechy, disagree that it's powdery. I really like this scent overall. A good daytime perfume for summer days, but I also recommend it for chilly spring days, the sweetness sings more in the cold and reads green apple to me. The refreshing, aquatic sweetness gives a promise of warmer weather to come. Also a decent alternative to D&G Light Blue if you want some variety for the same occasion or if you can't wear LB because someone you knew wore it religiously for a decade. It's a more approachable version of LB.

I was nose blind to aquatics for many years. To me, it was just another generic fragrance smell. However, one day I could suddenly detect the lightness, freshness, and woodiness, that define aquatics as well as the nuanced differences between brands. Acqua di Gioia is a beautifully done fragrance that has more longevity than most aquatics - especially on clothing. It also has a floral touch that leans feminine although I'm sure it would be suitable for men as well. If you're a fan of aquatics - be sure to test this one.

the BEST clean, citrusy perfume i have ever smelled. before this, i thought citrus perfumes just weren't for me, they always smelled like clorox to me. this, however, has the perfect balance. it's a very floral-y yet sweet perfume with a hint of lemon, making it a very nice refreshing smell for the summer/hot weather. the projection and lasting power are also quite nice, which is something i haven't been experiencing much with perfumes lately. i can see this becoming a signature scent year round as well, it's that good!

This is a classic – my go-to scent in the summer when I want to smell fresh and clean. The scent is exactly what the notes suggest: to me, it’s like a fresh, ocean breeze on a summer day. It’s an easy reach and always works – in my opinion, a staple that belongs on everyone’s perfume shelf. It’s not overly strong, which makes it perfect for hot days when heavy fragrances can quickly become overwhelming. The longevity is moderate, but you can boost it a little by applying a nice, fresh-scented body lotion underneath.

I adore this. Strolling the rivieras, the beach, the pier, east coast waters while listening to beautiful music. A perfect summer scent. Refreshing, feminine, clean and classy. Amazing!! Ugh I cannot get enough. The bottle is also beautiful. One of my favorites of all time. I know the votes lean towards day wear usage mostly, but a late night dinner date after swimming all day, damp hair, a beautiful dress, a fresh tan, hydrated skin, and I can see this perfume being magical during night time! So so so beautiful.

I fell absolutely in love with this upon first trying it. It’s so gorgeous. So well balanced and really fresh and clean like the most luxurious soap you’ve ever used. It has a slight sweetness from the brown sugar that keeps it very feminine and not at all “screechy” like some citrus-forward fragrances can be. Also, I was so pleasantly surprised because this has some power! It’s not your average fresh scent that disappears after an hour or two. Amazing for a signature scent year round as it’s so fresh and pretty.

I was looking for a scent that was an inoffensive, everyday scent. This is sooo fresh and addicting. I'm in love. It's the first time a citrus note works with me!! The perfume gets powdery after about an hour or so. The woody sweet base gives off unisex vibes. I can't place it, but it smells like the early 2000's--like something the girls from Aquamarine would use. This is great for the office and great for for being out and about. It lasts all day when used after non-scented lotion. Love, love, love.

It's funny, I always knew without testing, that I would love Aqua Di Gioia. Today I finally tested it and fell in love with it's strong, fresh aquatic nature which has no stingy, sharp notes in it, no melon and no water lily (I am tired of those). My zodiac sign is Pisces. This could easily represent my sign. I almost see and hear the sea when wearing this. This scent has uplifting, energetic nature - it is truly Water of Joy. Longevity is great, sillage is moderate.

Old Acqua di Gio was the first perfume I ever owned so I wanted something that would remind me of that. This one is not entirely a replacement but it has the same vibe. It is not very minty which I like, to me it is very fresh and clean, not overly citrusy. I would say aquatic is the best description. As expected for this type of scent, longevity is not its strength. However this is perfect for hot weather or gym or weekend walks in the nature.
