Armani Privé Ombre & Lumiere

LOOKING TO BUY A BOTTLE, PLEASE IT IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE PERFUME OF ALL TIME. I might be crazy or maybe it’s the name but something about this scent reminds me of Lumiere from beauty and the beast, specifically the aroma of be our guest at disney, especially the apple pie. I don’t think it actually smells like apple pie but there’s just some warm embracing note that always makes me think of that attraction and lures me into it. This will forever be my favorite perfume, I swear by it and im so fortunate to have gotten my hands on a few decants of it, even tho i paid a hefty price for them. I am looking to try some supposedly similar scents, but thusfar nothing compares to nor even touches the surface of this fragrance. I truly have no way to describe it bc of how utterly unique it is, all i can say is its a light in the dark and shines bright, it really invites u in for a much needed embrace and i love it. It doesn’t project super far, but it does last quite a while, and i feel like it could be perfect for any occassion. I try to use it sparingly but I find myself spraying it on before work sometimes bc i just long to smell it again. I dream of one day owning a bottle of this, it really is my absolute favorite. If anyone has one they are looking to get rid of i would absolutely die for it, please feel free to reach out!

OMG it's gorgeous!!! Truly absolutely gorgeous!!! Its such a beautiful feminine perfume, elegant and desirable, luxurious and passionate. It's so sensual. So divine! It's my favourite perfume. Favourite, favourite, favourite!!! Stunning! A beautiful thing. Such fantastic iris and jasmine - oh, oh, oh!! Swooooon! My husband adores it too, we both swoon away together! And the bottle is fabulous! Wow, fantastic colour. I love it!! I love this perfume! I love love love it to the end of time!!

Actually, there are 1000 copies of "Ombre&Lumière", of whom 120 copies are destined for the market in France. I have copy No 541 of 1000. The scent is very elegant and sophisticated Although floral, can be classified as unisex - thanks amber. J'adore....

This smells like Heaven oh my god. It has a lot of iris for sure and it's much warmer than the notes indicate (warmer than Pierre de Lune from the Armani Privé line which also has iris). I would start saving up if it wasn't limited edition...

Powdery floral musk in the same ballpark as Heeley Iris de Nuit, only I far prefer the Heeley. Rather shockingly ordinary for the price.

I was lucky to have been gifted this perfume a few years ago when it first came out, my first introduction to the Armani Privé line. I gave it a try and wore it for a few occasions. The name "Ombre Et Lumière” (Shadow And Light) definitely gives you a luxurious, dark and powdery experience : a mysterious iris, jasmine, ambroxan and a hint of musk. Very interesting perfume, but not for me personally! Would work better for a more mature crowd. _____ Sillage & Longevity : 6/10 Originality : 9/10 Value & Quality : 7/10 7/10

I recently bought six different decants of the iris-centric scents of Armani Prive and I am, so far, surprised by how ordinary many of them are despite the limited editions and insane prices. O & L is a very spare jasmine dominant scent that begins with promising green/citrus notes and an unmistakeable fresh and cool iris note that quickly leads way to white flowers and powder to smell like a close relative of Hiris if only for a few minutes. After that it’s all jasmine with it’s screechy aspects tamed by a cuddly ambroxan and white musk base. Yes it is pretty but yes this could also be a drugstore bargain scent from the 60s or 70s. To each their own but O & L stands out as particularly ludicrous in regard to price vs. content.

Of the 3 Armani Privé Les Éditions Couture fragrances that I own (Nacre, Nuances and this one), Ombre & Lumiere is by far the most floral heavy. However it's the Jasmine and Freesia that I detect the most, rather than the Iris which Armani lists as the star of the show. Luckily for me I adore Jasmine and the Jasmine in this creation is wonderful. To my nose it's not even slightly indolic or skanky and it reminds me mostly of the species of 'night' Jasmine found in abundance in Sydney Australia in suburban household gardens. The scent is only present after dusk and is quite heady and rich (for want of a better description). For me it's this Jasmine that is the star of Armani's creation. The Iris and musk do make an appearance after about the first hour and then it dries down beautifully to a more familiar musky, floral and amber combination. Like all the Armani Privé Les Éditions Couture fragrances, the presentation of Ombre & Lumiere is simply stunning! The bottle is gorgeous and it comes wrapped and tied in the same deep coloured fabric as seen in the advertisement. Although this is a 5 star fragrance, I don't think it will get nearly as much use as my Nacre or Nuances do; mainly due to its floral heavy nature.

I have most of the Armani Prive limited edition perfumes and Ombre and Lumber is perhaps the most feminine one, followed by Rose D'artiste. A perfect combination of iris which gives it the cool feeling (as opposed to warm) and heady jasmine, I could smell these two notes prominently throughout its life from the topnotes to drydown. I thought that the jasmine might overshadow the iris, as iris sometimes like to play hide in seek in other perfumes, but this scent perfectly balances both. It's longevity is over 12 hours even on my sweaty skin, so I can't get enough of this gem. The packaging is beyond gorgeous and embodies the Armani Prive dna well.

The bottle looks great...really fantastic! The notes however don't look very appealing to me but everyone of the prive's I've tried (which is pretty much all of them now) whether feminine or not are really well executed. I'm such this won't be an exception, can't wait to try it and find out.

Tried a sample of this and yes it is gorgeous. It reminded me of Light Blue by D and G. As lovely as it is, it didnt last very well at all on me, an hour or so thats all - so for me not worth the price. Very lovely smell, but needs to be re-sprayed to enjoy the fragrance. x

Save your pennies and try Perfume Parlour's dupe of this. The dupes are usually spot on, sometimes better than the original. I haven't smelled the original but I believe my perfume oil is quite accurate.

I agree with Houdini4, I'm a real fan of the Armani Prive line and I have bottles of both Nuances & Nacre; so I'm definitely going to try and sample this at least!

$740 CDN for this is too much. On the other hand- it is good enough for collection. The bottle is a beauty.

Sounds very ordinary in the notes. i would not buy it even if it was sold for $10
