Light di Gioia

This has been my new signature 'office' scent for the last half-year or so since I ran out of my last bottle of Euphoria and I was looking for something new. I think the formulation is really interesting because the scent profile doesn't hint at its extreme longevity- which it accomplishes very well without a hint of alcohol. It has the same undertones as aqua di gioia - almost seaside citrus but it has a sweet floral opening that dominates, and then that mixes with the sea salt and lime to a really remarkable drydown. The drydown is where you find the sandalwood waiting, and just that very delicate brush of musk, which works for me because I typically abhor musky fragrances. I don't know how it manages to be both strong in terms of projection and longevity, but light in terms of the scent profile, but this does it. It isn't often that a lime/floral combination would have longevity and projection, but this one truly does- it can very easily be overused if you don't understand that it packs a wallop. Basically, use it sparingly- of course you'll get a headache if you overspray this one. With the floral/citrus profile, I think it's best as a spring/summer scent but I have used it all year round. I bought the full bottle at Ulta after a few spritzes without looking at the profile because it hits my faves- bergamot, jasmine, sandalwood, boom. FWIW, I am not a musk fan, but I do love this fragrance. I also dislike soapy drydowns, or the floral 'potpourri' drydowns that many badly formulated florals have- this suffers from neither thankfully. Will it rock your socks? Maybe- it was worth every penny for me, and I'm halfway through the large bottle. I love that it hits longevity with like a single spritz, it has the profile I was looking for, and while I haven't had someone ask what I'm wearing so they can buy it- I've also had no complaints either. So- there it is. I think it was a simple formulation that was done very well and I'm glad I purchased it.

I bought this perfume out of curiosity. The perfume bottle and packaging are gorgeous. The perfume starts very heavy on clothes, then softens within a few hours. This is a summery perfume. It smells the same as "Michael" from Michael Kors. It is a softer, yet happy perfume. I am glad to have purchased this from Chemist Warehouse. I believe it is being discontinued. I got this at a reasonable price. If you like Estee Lauder's discontinued Private Collection Tuberose & Gardenia, it smells like this, but slightly weaker, you will like this. I can smell this on my clothes throughout the day. On my skin, it disappears quickly, about 3-4 hours. I like placing it on my clothes, that's where it shines. I can still smell it the next day after spraying four sprays. For me, it also smells like the original Dior J'adore before reformulations. This excellent-quality perfume is smooth and lovely, ideal for gardenia and tuberose lovers. I recommend this perfume because it smells like you in a garden with tuberose and gardenia, jasmine and white florals, just relaxing. Yes, this is a zen fragrance, and for me it was worth the treat. It smells better than Kim Kardashian's Tuberose first fragrance, too. The projection on clothes is at arm's length for 2-3 hours, which is excellent. It leaves a trail, then it lingers beautifully. The silliage is wonderful on clothes. The sillage on the skin remains after 6 hours. But I found it did not project as powerfully as on clothes. This perfume is worth checking out for lovers of white floral scents.

Gorgeous!! I love the creamy gardenia note in this! I would also think there’s ylang ylang in this but perhaps there is some in the formula for the gardenia note, which I believe is a fantasy accord. It also could just be a creamy jasmine.Regardless, I love it! I have most of this line and slowly getting around to reviewing them. So far, they are all really good! Sadly, they’ve been discontinued with the exception, I believe, of Aqua. The others, including this one stand out so much more to me! This is so feminine and bright, it’s appropriately named light and that’s exactly what I get. It’s like sunshine and gorgeous florals. I don't get a lot of bergamot. It is more refined than your typical white floral and has fantastic longevity! I can see this being a stunning bridal fragrance! It epitomizes what I would’ve loved to have worn on my wedding day, which was years before this was introduced. Had this been around then, I probably would’ve chosen this! It would be beautiful as a wedding guest’s scent or a fancy afternoon garden party. It’s so pretty and ladylike! It’s a little linear, but that doesn’t bother me!

This is a stunning, warm, creamy white floral which works really well in the warmer weather, but equally so during the cooler months as well. I agree with the reviewers that say its like summer in a bottle, it really is; gardenia, jasmine, bergamot, white musk and woodsy notes all blend together beautifully to create this bright, fresh yet warm scent which is the olfactive equivilent of feeling the sun on your skin. To me, this is a somehat linear scent, how it opens up is how it stays smelling for the majority of wear, but by the 6hr mark I get a slightly aqueos/cucumber/greeny note which emerges, sort of like a freshly cut flower stem, but it still fits in with this scent very well. Longevity is good, about 7/8hrs of wear with a close to skin, aura like silage. Its a really good pick me up on cold, dull winter mornings!

I started out with Ocean di Gioia, which I like. Then I tried the more floral, Light di Gioia, which I also like quite a bit. Unlike Ocean di Gioia with its marine and aquatic notes, "Light" is full of floral notes and smells like a garden and like summer. It smells happy, if a perfume can smell happy?? It makes me feel pretty and feminine when I spray it and that bergamot fills the room. Then the florals which sit with me for quite awhile join in. As with other perfumes, I notice this one lasts longer and smells stronger as I work my way down through the bottle. The projection is perfect for the office, leaving a trail but very light yet I can smell it the entire morning. Sometimes I'll take it with me to refresh after work if I'm going somewhere. I love it because it's different, fresh and uplifting; happy.

I love this fragrance as I love tropical white floral fragrances for summer. This is in my top 10 for summer for sure, closer to #1. It starts off smelling like Honeysuckle but fades to a creamy, tropical white floral, woody musk. Reminds me of Butterfly Flower from Bath and Body Works. The longevity is ok, after 2 or 3 hours it turns into a skin scent. I get about 6 hours, even longer where I sprayed my inner elbow. Edit 8/20/22 This turned into a signature fragrance for me but after having a baby 3 months ago this now pulls a sharp woody note on my skin the same way the cedar note pulled in DG Light Blue. I had to declutter LB and I’m hoping my chemistry will go back to how it was before because I really love this fragrance.

You ever have a perfume you absolutely adore with all your heart—despite its lacking longevity, needing to be sprayed throughout the day (so it runs out rather quickly), is frustratingly discontinued, and a seemingly boring designer (although I love many designer fragrances haha) perfume? Well, that’s Light di Gioia for me! It’s a mysterious gem that at first glance appears prosaic, but somehow ends up smelling magically blended to promote a gentle, yet upbeat, sunshiney vibe. It’s bergamot, creaminess, woods and white florals blended to perfection. The designer behind this beautiful creation is none other than the highly-esteemed Oliver Cresp, so therein lies the answer to my question: what is this sorcery?

I wear Light Di Gioia on days when the skies are grey, on days when it's meant to be warm but it's cold, on days when it's raining in the spring and summer. I even wear it sometimes at night before bed. Anyone in the UK may understand where I'm coming from, given the type of weather we have. It's a feel-good fragrance that makes anything around that feels dull appear lighter. It is like Sunshine in a bottle, a real mood booster! The gardenia and jasmine are so beautifully blended with a light citrus and woody musky facets. It feels clean, soft, and inoffensive but cheerful. I really enjoy it.

This one I tried, went home and ordered it online straight away, event though it's winter now and it's more a summer scent. It's so beautiful!!!!! To me it's the perfect balance between sweetness, lightness, freshness but without being too much of anything. It's not overly complicated, but not simple either. I definitely see this becoming my favourite scent as soon as spring shows up :) EDIT: Now I'm wearing it, at closely seeing how it develops - it is definitely a daytime perfume. Maybe love has faded a little, it's good, it's OK, I could wear it for work and so.

@Barbarossa I have this and Chanel Eau Fraiche EDT and no, they don’t smell the same. They share some notes and I can see the comparison, but definitely different fragrances. I use Eau Fraiche as a spring formal. Light Di Gioia is great for out the shower, or for freshening up throughout the day. I know I’m in the minority, but I enjoy and appreciate a light skin scent, as I really just wear fragrance for myself. I get around 5 hours from this range, but if projection and sillage are priorities for you then this probably won’t be your thing.

Apparently Light di Gioia is a little prickly fellow. The first impression is of an austere light, imprisoned in our rooms. We are aware of having to go outside to enjoy the warmth and all our senses. That's why I let it lay down before sniffing my wrist. It is an ode to the beautiful season which moves my feelings of love towards this fragrance, not so dissimilar to others I own and adore. The lasting base notes, when there's a little place for musky-woods over gardenia and bergamot, is by far the phase my skin interprets best.

This perfume carries a lot of heat, it's great for a hot summer day. With the florals, they seem to brighten in the summer heat and the longer I have it, the longer it wears. At first it only lasted a few hours but now it's lasting around 7 hours. It's sunny, happy, light but still has good sillage. It's probably only available online but if you enjoy white florals that aren't too clingy, this is a good buy. It's good in springtime but it shines in summer. Fall...put it away until next year.

I love this perfume. Though it isn’t as good, in my opinion, as ocean di gioia by Giorgio Armani, it is a close second. It smells extremely similar to ocean di gioia but instead of it having aqueous undertones, it has rather floral and musky tones, almost garden-like. I think that the only reason this fragrance isn’t my number one is because I have a strong bias towards watery scents. I would recommend this to people who enjoy soft, floral (but not obnoxiously floral) and bright fragrances!

Summer in a bottle. For me it's 80% the same as Kenzo Summer which i love but is discontinued and the prices asked for it on eBay is exorbitante high. I'm not willing to pay that kind of prices for a perfume. This one is very much alike and i purchased an used big bottle for just €5. So i'm very pleased with it. It's soft, little sweet, fresh and light but the projection and longtivity is above average. Just perfect for the hot days it's there to enjoy but not in a nausious way. 😁

I was lucky enough to score a 100ml bottle on japan auction.First impression is vary creamy and delicate gardenia and jasmine,similar somehow to Amarige but more refined and not to overwhelming,its like a golden aura around you,a peaceful gracefull little garden in summer,when the sun is coming down and the scent of sweet jasmine fill the air,and you feel carefree,like when you were a child.Gleaming like a drop of honey and cheerful like the best of dream.

If you grew up in the south, you'll immediately recognize the honeysuckle and fresh cut grass smell of Light di Gioia. My God! I'm transported to getting off the school bus and sitting by the bushes for hours picking honeysuckles. What a gorgeous scent for spring, summer, and fall. It's what I would wear for visiting my nieces and nephews so they always remember their aunt who smells like a dream and plays on the swingset with them.

Finally a citrus-y floral that doesn't smell like mosquito repellant! Really bright, soft, lovely perfume, that disappears on my skin after an hour. It's a shame, I would've loved it if it stayed with me a bit longer. -edit: I take back what I wrote last December about the longevity! In the heat of summer this goes on and on and on 😍 Such a sweet, bright summer fragrance. I love myself when I'm wearing this.

As it sleets and snows here in CT, I am shopping for a new spring fragrance and I think this might be the one. The jasmine and gardenia are equally prevalent, one doesn't crowd the other out. The sillage is great and the musky dry down is just the right strength-not too heavy, not too mild. A Goldilocks perfume? Not too sweet, not too sharp, just right.

i love this perfume because it is a perfectly simple white floral scent, still smells light and airy and isnt too overpowering like other floral scents. there isnt much i smell in this other than pure gardenia and jasmine but i am not complaining, this is one of the only floral scents i actually like. 9/10 for me

The smell is very round and agreeable. Refreshing. The opening is bergamot, but not sharp, with floral and wood in the background. Musky, but not overwhelmingly. After few minutes, the floral notes come out more and they smell clearer. The gardenia is there, but it's more jasminy. The sillage starts moderate soft, after 2-3 hours it's softer and woodier, then around 4-5 hours it's fainter. I can get sniffs for the rest of the day, but it's random. I wasn't amaze by the performance, but I have a splash mini sample, maybe in spray or on a warmer day it would have been better. I like it, it's a bright citrusy bouquet of white flowers. The bergamot white florals combo reminds me other perfumes I have, but it's nice and in my style, an easy to wear citrusy floral.

Youthful and summery, Light di Gioia smells like tropical fruit to me. Lasting power isn't great, but I wouldn't mind owning this if I found a really good deal. It sits close to the skin and isn't going to leave an impression, which isn't the worst thing in the world. I quite like having a few fragrances in my collection that smell good enough I need to own them despite poor longevity and silage. If money was no object, I would have purchased a 100 ml bottle after my first sampling. It's just that yummy smelling. However, I have to make some cuts and I'd rather own D&G Dolce Garden which is not a dupe, but gives me the same tropical fruit/floral vibes and lasts FOREVER on me. Light di Gioia is a good one though.

Idk... It's another "wannabe" perfume. Nothing special but it is pleasant, comforting scent. I would recommend it as a safe gift choice for woman who loves fragrances but you aren't sure about her particular style (whole di gioia line). At least I wouldn't be disappointed if I were the one endowed. It reminds me a little bit of Gucci Bloom but for some reason I would prefer Gucci over this one. Anyways it's a nice non offensive casual fragrance for every day wear Edit: Okay, again, I am sorry. I tend to be a little rash when comes to perfume judging. It is actually very nice perfume and I definitely like this one the most from the Gioia line. It is flowery and sweet and elegant scent. :)

It's pretty, it's fresh, and like others have said it smells like something nice for spring. I think this could be a nice signature scent for someone who maybe likes to be low key, but still smell nice, pleasant and not draw attention. On me, after 4hrs it become more closer to the skin. To me this smells appropriate for daytime. Also this scent, to me smells safe for wearing to office. I don't see this being a head-turner. But it is lovely. I would buy this. To me it's a nice everyday fragrance. It is very ladylike scent in my opinion, not sure if women under 25 would go for this seeing how gourmands, vanilla or amber perfumes seem to be all the rage. This is pretty floral.

Light di Gioia is a clean, but natural jasmine scent. It really smells like jasmine, not just like a generic white floral mixture. So there is a sharp edge to it like in real jasmine, but it's done in a very pretty, safe, fresh way. I also get a strong note of fresh green banana, especially in the opening, which makes the scent a little more interesting. This is a nice summery creamy white floral that would be good for everyday use, but nothing groundbreaking. The performance is average. A plus is that it stays fresh on my skin even in the heat. I think the light yellow bottle design fits the scent very well.

This is ultra feminine and sunny scent. Gardenia, citruses and blooming jasmine bushes, just like a walk early in the morning in Greece or Italy. I don't get all that negative vote, I mean, what's wrong with those people?! Light has presence, without being cloying and the bottle is so pretty. I'm getting stronger boho chic vibes of this, it's perfect for wearing a maxi dress, long necklaces, fedora and espadrilles. Longevity and silage are perfect, I can smell it for 7 hours on my skin. Such a pleasant surprise by Armani.

A beautiful summer scent based on sunny, warm florals and juicy, sweetened citrus - like candied lemon or lemonade instead of tart lemon juice. Had they not been missing from the scent pyramid, I would have said that Ylang Ylang is the most prominent note, followed by an aquatic aspect. Well, I’ll say it anyways. If you love Light di Gioia and can’t find it anymore, Dolce Shine comes quite close! The latter does not have the aquatic thing and has less citrus, but these two are far more similar than the notes suggest.

Rather generic for the price. It's a nice zesty fragrance, but the notes are muddled and there is too much confusion to detect any one element. This would be lovely for a holiday by the sea, though not so much for a special occasion. For a man it might do well for work or for going out. A little disappointed after having paid so much for this fragrance. Though it does stick around for a long while, is a little bit like Versace Bright Crystal though far more masculine. Perhaps it is just not my taste.

I like the scent very much. The only dislike I have is that something in this perfume does not match with my body/skin. When i am wearing it, after some time (like around an hour later) this heavy old man aftershave-ish scent is so strong present i don't smell the perfume itself anymore. Therefor i now use it only by spraying it on my clothes when going out. :( I don't want to het rid of it, because i like the perfume... but I won't by again because of the mismatch with my skin.

Yes. This one does not get enough love - in my opinion. A white flower dream that is soft, well rounded and elegant. It is quiet yet still fresh with a clean vibe without going too soapy. This is grounded, warm and feminine, and with NO patchouli. (Patchouli will sadly ruin any fragrance for me. ) Side note: J'adore by Dior is very very simular but where J'adore is sharp and with a touch of fruit Light is more silky and warm .

this opens with citruses and synthetic woods, followed quickly by the gardenia and musk. then comes a greenness, which reminds me of the rind of melons, bitter but with a slight tangy quality leftover from a bit of melon stuck on. the gardenia becomes more dominant and it gets kind of beachy. it's like a green gardenia with a hint of something borderline fruity but not quite.

I don't like flowery perfumes that much, they all seem to artificial to me. but this one I got as gift and I am slowly falling in love. It isn't love at first sniff though, but I am dazzled, keep sniffing my wrist on and on again. I feel fresh, clean and joyful while wearing it. It's easily likeable. The scent and bottle make me think of summer sunrise for some reason.

The bottle design and color are perfect for this scent! It's a round, lush, slightly banana-y white floral bouquet. In the opening the Aqua Di Gioia base is noticable. I think it's really pretty. I would consider getting a bottle except it does get a little "doughy" that many white florals do --i'm not sure I could wear it all day. 7/10

This is a pretty, light floral. If you like Dior J'Adore or Marc Jacobs Daisy, then this is a safe blind buy for you. But you definitely don't need this if you have one of those already. This is a good perfume for someone who works in a office or around children where you would not want to overpower with smell.

The name is very appropriate; a very bright and sunny musky white florals with a citric opening. Imagine wearing a breezy linen dress strolling through an open garden of jasmine and gardenia on a cool summer day, catching whiffs of the flowers here and there. Perfect for warm/hot weather.

Pleasant fragrance. Fresh, flowery, slightly sweet and peaceful. A good choice if you’re looking for a citrusy perfume that isn‘t aggressive or soap smelling, or if you simply like gardenia. It’s not the best from this line or this genre but it is nice. Final note: 6/10

A beautiful warm, sunny day in a bottle. Very pleasant, refreshing but not crisp. I can detect floral notes, this is not linear, and no strong and sharp citruses. I generally love the Gioia (joy)-perfume family. I might go and get a travel size of this one.

A fruit bowl folowed by florals, bright semi sweet. I can smell jasmine in here and a bit of gardenia. It is not the same but I feel something as in j'adore (it reminds ripe pear). Nice sunny fragance for a day out. I am glad I bought a 5 ml purse spray.

This is basically j’adore but a tad bit lighter. The powder note is a little less intense here but otherwise, c’est la même chose. I think light di Gioia is more my style; they both give me Enchanteur powder vibes but LDG is more wearable to me

This is bottled summer. It reminds me of sunny days at the beach. It might not be a groundbreaking white floral, but it's a very good one for me. I cannot get enough of it, I am kind of bummed I only have 15ml or so left.

A green, very clean interpretation of jasmine! It does not have too much musk. I consider this perfume a soliflore. An airy and fresh jasmine flower! Lasts 6 hours on skin and radiates beautifully.

This reminds me of the Marc Jacob divine decadence EDP fragrance. It's good but not wowing. I decluttered this one.

Really, really lovely but fleeting fragrance. I most heavily get the bergamot and the gardenia notes from this and they blend so nicely. It does remind me of other white florals but the bergamot really makes it stand out. It's brightens the scent and toes the edge of too sharp and citrusy but doesn't cross the line. For comparison, it reminds me of Gucci Bloom (or Spitfire Girl's Love) without the tuberose, Creed Love in White without the strong orange peel, Diptyque Do Son without the strong green note, and perhaps most strongly of Jo Malone Wild Bluebell. Floral, feminine, and sophisticated. The downfall, unfortunately, is a sandy, salty dry down after about two hours. The citrusy florals just evaporate.

I wish the citrus notes lasted longer, I can smell them only in the opening and then it's gone. If I didn't know it's white floral perfume, I'd think there's yellow flowers. I sprayed it on my hand 2 hours ago and now I get mostly musk, which I'm not a fan of and some flowers and it's very weak now. I have to sniff very closely. But I don't expect much from light fresh perfumes, I try some from time to time but I prefer strong scents. The only fresh citrus perfume I adore and it checks all the points for me is Coco Mademoiselle edp.

smelt this in store today as it was on sale, i was about to blind-buy this and i'm so glad i didn't. it smells generic, i've owned Zara dupes that smelt like this in the past - very overdone and nothing unique. it's a pleasant light fragrance but a bit too "light" to the point where it's missing that "wow" factor and i had to keep sniffing my wrist like a dog to acc detect anything. opening was sharp, the citrus and white florals are pleasant but lasting power is weak, will not be buying FB :/

I love the composition of this fragrance in theory and gardenia is one of my favourite notes in perfume, BUT having tried two perfumes from this line (this one and Terra di Gioia), I have come to the conclusion that they smell incredibly synthetic and screechy on my skin. For a gorgeous gardenia experience, Armani Privé's Gardenia Antigua is my go-to. True, creamy gardenia. Much pricier, but definitely worth it.

A pretty white floral brightened with citrus that has a mellow woody drydown. I blind bought it as I love most fragrances from this line, but wouldn't you know this is my least favorite of the line. It's not a bad fragrance at all, far from it, it's lovely. There are just other white floral perfumes I prefer a bit more to this.

FANTASTIC Light airy floral opening. WOW. But I hate the banana peel/banana leaf note in the dry down. Good god, why is that there? Days later I could still smell that faint note on the sample (and my skin the next day). Might just be me, but I can smell some of that in the other Acqua di Gioias (Ocean and the original ADG)

Now all we need is a purple one. It should be called ocean or river do gioia or something. Someone mentioned the idea if rain which I like. Rain di gioia would fit the color better that ocean do gioia

I received compliment from wearing this perfume. Not expected, because my impression is quite mild to this fragrance. Its a safe choice, clean and fresh (not soapy) smelling

Light and air so gioia are the mature scents of the line. Sky, sun, & acqua are the rowdy little young thing scents
