French Waltz

I have been a huge Tyler the Creator fan since 2011 and I love fragrances, so when he announced he was releasing a fragrance, I blind bought this as soon as it was released! Leading up to the release I remember the ads of this fragrance summarizing it as a summer “sunseeker” smell. I was expecting something airy, musky, fruity, clean, fresh and maybe even slightly aquatic? I believe it does have some of those nuances, but it is a little overpowered by the floral notes & I mostly get floral notes off of my own skin (which isn’t a bad thing). The box states that the smell is supposed to capture a moment where you just finished swimming in a lake and are now enveloped in a garden with the sun shining and the winds blowing the scent of the flowers. I definitely think it invokes that smell and I’m a sucker for photorealistic scents that are inspired by a moment, time, and/or place. Overall, I have owned this for nearly 3 years and I have been able to thoroughly test this out. I barely have a dent in my bottle, primarily because I have a lot of scents, but also because I don’t always gravitate towards it. I have primarily worn this for Tyler the Creator’s concerts and whenever he has a pop up event. Stuff like that makes this scent special to me because it creates memories tied to the scent. With that being said, I have grown to like this scent because I wasn’t the type of guy to wear a very floral scent like this. However, as a fragrance connoisseur, I’m not the type of person that believes fragrances are for a specific gender because I believe you should wear whatever you like and I do like “unisex” scents. I believe this is a great spring day scent and I recommend to give it a few wears before you make your judgment because I almost brushed it off. The dry down is also what makes me really enjoy the scent because the opening is a bit strong and overall this scent lasts a long time and lingers on my clothes until I wash them. 8.5/10 (probably a little biased because I’m a huge Tyler the creator fan lol)

(Review of 10ml Travel Spray) Incredible, front to back. The opening was so good that I grabbed this just off of that alone, and I was pleasantly surprised at how insanely SMOOTH this blend was throughout the whole scent experience. Out the gate, the magnolia begins radiating beautifully the second it touches your skin, supplemented by a delicate fruity sweetness from the pear and litchi. What would normally be potentially overpowering is balanced out by that tart orange. It melts into rose and white florals - I really loved the jasmine in particular, it mingles with the fruity accords beautifully and really helps the transition into the drydown. The sandalwood in this? Lusciously soft. Which sounds crazy, because its literally wood, but it's got a delicate powdery finish and fresh aspect to it. The musk is less noticeable on my skin, but it compliments that gorgeous sandalwood so well. The aforementioned floral notes remain, even hours deep into the drydown. Before the scent begins to die down for good, it gets woodier and develops a slightly stronger musk note for me. It's like being in a meadow and watching the setting sun bathe the edge of a dense forest in a luminous orange light. This makes me want more fragrances from Golf Le Fleur (especially as a fan of Tyler). This lasts a long time (easy 8 hours) and remains really fresh and stunning throughout the experience, and I was still catching strong whiffs of it later into the day as I tested it. The only gripe is the pricing - which is just okay, I'm not a fan of $150 for a 50ml especially when the 100ml is just $50 more. It's a tad steep, but the pricing does reflect the quality of the scent for me. Not for everyone - some may deem this more feminine or too floral for their liking, but for me, this is a really excellent, fresh, floral fragrance for spring/summer wear!

Just received in the mail, at first I was a little shocked because I read a lot of semi negative reviews for it. And I do get what people are saying about it being strong. And I think that’s where is more of a positive for me. The best way I can describe the smell is only going to be understandable to people of the 90’s.... It’s smells like Macy’s Fragrance department, when they use to have only top designer perfume and they would spray the bottles so generously that the moment you walked in you wanted to know what scent you were smelling, you would go down the line of Dior Mugler Chanel Versace and Estée Lauder trying to pinpoint that scent only to be confused and unsure because the truth is it was a mix of all of them..... French Waltz while intense, is a more of a love note to my 90s heart when the biggest fashion houses and makeup companies each had unique scents, there were no famous actresses/musicians churning out perfumes that smelled like drugstore variations of the high end stuff. When I wear it out I get so many compliments and people are usually genuinely surprised to find out it’s not Chanel Dior or some well established brand. If this is his first venture into making fragrances I can’t wait to smell what’s in store for our future!

This is really nice and super versatile, overall vibe is a white floral, powdery musky sandalwood fragrance. It opens up super synthetic powdery, with whitefloral in the background; Almost like a realistic oleander. The powderiness dials back a bit and citrus blooms kick in and it gets a bit soapy. This is all like in 10 is minutes, the lychee and pear notes really arent detectable. The heart is really sweet, with white florals citrus bloom is still present and little rose/muguet. The musk and sandal wood that start to creep in. The base is still kinda sweet, with the musk and sandalwood really strong with a hint of white floral and a little soapiness with rosiness. I'd give it a really highmoderate sillage and longevity. The top to the heart can fill an entire room. And the base is just maybe at arm and half length away, it gets pretty intimate. And sometimes when i get it on some clothes even after a week i can still smell the sandalwood after its been washed. On my skin it's pretty masculine but i can see why people say its feminine. I've been told i smell like a rich old lady but other than that nothing really negative. I think the "pickle brine" opening isnt worded good, its just a sharp super powdery smell. And i would call it aquatic

I got the 10ml size today. As a fragrance connoisseur and a Tyler fan, I was really excited to see what he could do with perfumery. I was not let down at all. It opens very bright, floral and fruity. The musk and sandalwood in the base are very strong and add an interesting twist to the floral top and mid notes. As the fragrance dries down, the fruitiness goes away and you’re left with beautiful florals and a woodsy musky base, which is very pleasant. The price is justified in my opinion, as the fragrance smells very high quality and the performance is great. 8+ hours on my skin with a moderate projection. For the price, you’re getting a niche quality scent with a great presentation, which can’t be said about other fragrances that are the same price if not more expensive with worse performance. This can be worn all year round for any situation, but I see it working best in the spring and summer. It is also 100% unisex. Overall, I give the fragrance a 9/10. Floral fragrances typically aren’t my thing, but this is a beautiful fragrance.

Like some others, it's a very sentimental scent, as I bought this at the CHROMAKOPIA show in Seattle (best smelling concert I've ever been to) ...but that's the beauty of scent I've come to find, so much memory is tied to music and smell and taste, and this was the perfect fragrance to stumble upon that got me into taking my scent game more seriously, it's such a beautiful and unique scent, a combination of rose, florals, musk, sandalwood and hints of delicious fruits, I've yet to find something that even comes close to replicating the heart of this fragrance, The smells and vibes it evokes are so very on brand for Tyler's unique and wonderful vision. Personally I might be biased here but if I had the money I would buy so many bottles and wear this year round, as I personally think it's delicate enough to be an any time of day scent, but it's especially beautiful on a sunny yet room temperature spring/summer afternoon. 9.7/10

im a huge tyler fan so i def am biased but this is one of my favorite fragrances. a very strong floral musk with fruity notes that linger. the description of laying in a flower field is 100% accurate. its unisex and fresh but could easily be worn year round when layered with a cozier/warmer fragrance in colder months. at first you get fruity fresh flowers, like you're taking a stroll in the princess's royal garden filled with exotic fruits during a sunny day. as time passes and it dries down, its an amazing musky rose, like its night and you're napping in the garden. the heat is gone and you can smell her esteemed flowers from afar. this perfume is truly amazing and although it is pricy i'll be happy to break the bank for this fragrance over and over again it is very strong so do not overspray. ive had to stop using this for a couple days bc i oversprayed one day and my nose just doesnt agree with it .

Been a big fan of Tyler since Cherry Bomb or so but have particularly loved his more "fancy" tastes shown in Golf Le Fleur and CMIYGL. I got a travel sized bottle of French Waltz when I saw my second concert of his on a whim, long before I even started liking fragrances as a hobby. For years now, I always wear this one whenever I see my long distance boyfriend because it's always going to be his favorite of mine. The smell is fresh and bright but also warm, like a vacation home by a lake that you're familiar with. Definitely has a European water feel like Italy or France, as the name suggests. The rose note makes it feel more spring-oriented than summer in my opinion, but it easily covers both. Makes me feel fancy and adventurous but also humble and friendly somehow. This will definitely stay as one of my signature scents for a very long time.

Similar to another reviewer I bought the 10ml size at a merch stand during his last tour, and have been rationing it ever since. This is a truly unisex scent. One of my Top 5. I wear this primarily in summer and get so many compliments from strangers when I'm out and about. The opening is a strong punch of the clean white florals and mandarin orange but as it dries down you get the nice trail of jasmine and musk that lasts on your clothes. I'd even go so far as to say there's an aquatic quality. BUT DON'T BLIND BUY! I can definitely see how harsh and bitter the notes could pull for others and for its hefty price tag it'd be a bad case of buyer's remorse. I would still love this scent even if it was under a cheaper non-Tyler label, but for now I'll stick to squeezing out as much use as possible off the smallest size. 9/10

French waltz was a fragrance I’ve always wanted since Tyler has ever dropped it. I was always afraid to purchase this and end up not enjoying it. But this fragrance is definitely a floral, sweet, fresh/clean, musky. Personally I could say this is unisex but leans a tad bit to feminine. This smells like how it’s described, like a pool with flowers growing around it with small hints of citrus. I would start off with a 10ml and wear it here and there to see if you could vision yourself wearing it all the time. Also give it some time to adjust on your skin because the first smell might be like a grandma smell, but just let it sit and reveal the notes. Overall I would rate this fragrance a solid 8.5/10 great for the summer time.

Unexpected deliciousness. Its one of those fragrances that just gets better and better the longer you wear it. I remember going out with my girlfriend and trying out the 'Tyler the Creator' perfume out of curiosity. At first, the scent was overwhelming and honestly hit like an overbearing air freshener. But over time, we kept taking whiffs of our wrists, over and over again, nodding with approval. In the end we came back to buy it and it has become a staple for our date nights. Now I wouldn't call this necessarily a date night scent, but more of a cute museum/picnic/painting date. It flows with color and creativity, definitely in its own lane. I'd say 9.1 out of 10 honestly.

Absolutely one of the most stunning fruity floral fragrances I have ever had the experience of smelling. If not the best. This opens up extremely fruity on my skin, with the Nashi Pear being the most dominant note. The florals come in pretty smoothly, and I don't feel that any of them are stronger than the other. I'm typically not a fan of jasmine, but find that when it's a middle note and done well, I enjoy it. With this one, I can't even pick up the jasmine, it's all so well blended. As others have stated, this is EXTREMELY unisex. Super clean, with fruity and floral notes, drying down to a musk floral skin scent. I don't get the wood as much as other commenters.

Sweet floral musky unisex fragrance with a slight woodiness. I prefer wearing this as masculine, although I wouldn’t classify this as some people say a “manly” or dark smell. This is a unique sweet bright musk which becomes very comforting and subtle in the dry down once you hit the sandalwood. I love this fragrance and lots of people give me compliments, even those who don’t like musk, because the sweet & floral notes make this a comforting and soft scent. Edit : agree with wintercity’s review above^ with not overspraying. Do not overspray this, it will become way too powdery and cloying. 1-2 and maybe 3 max if you distribute the sprays well enough.

I am definitely not a floral person (more gourmand/ fruity girl) HOWEVER i bought this today at one of Tyler's shows and it smells definitely more of the sweet/ fruity floral side. The musk adds warmth and depth to the fragrance. The lychee and rose sticks out the most but the rose isnt over powering and doesn't give a headache at all (I presumed it would have). This is perfect for spring/ summer months for when it warm outside. I think you may get a way with wearing this at night time because as it wears through the day it's more subtle and warm.

Blind bought this because the ads were very eye catching (do NOT do this for this scent especially) and the smell at first took me by surprise. First impression I and others had compared it to scented toilet paper. It smells very clean and super fruity. The longer I wore and smelt it I was able to fully appreciate it and now its become the scent of one of the most memorable summers! My only gripe is the price, 40 dollars for 10mls is nuts!!! 8.5/10 Takes some getting used to, but its a summer classic!

somehow has an aquatic feel to it. i think the box description is perfect, "dozing off in the garden, using the sun as a towel to dry off the leftover beads of lake water.” evokes an image of the dew on a rose petal on a spring morning. its spring break and you’re 14 in your friends backyard the morning after a sleepover. it rained during the night and all you can smell is the freshly bloomed roses in their garden and the dew on their petals. it’s a peaceful perfume for peaceful people.

Literally the definition of unisex. I love the floral notes in this combined with a little bit of citrus from the orange/pear notes that just lifts it up and makes it smell incredible. The drydown is more masculine leaning with the sandalwood/musk giving it that manly aroma but the top is more feminine leaning with the fruity florals. For context, I'm a man and absolutely love wearing this out whenever I leave the house, but if I smelled this on a woman I would love it as well.

WOO HOLY FLOWERS AND MUSK THIS THING IS STRONG. Barely got it out of the package before i could smell it. Being a huge Tyler fan may bias my thoughts about this one, but it definitely does smell like a bunch of perfumes stitched together like other people are saying on here. The drydown is impeccable, absolutely perfect in my eyes, and the top notes aren't as fleeting as I expected them to be. Overall, I'll use it sparingly because of the cost, but when I do, it's an occasion.

This is my boyfriend’s signature right now, and he’s the type of guy who only wears a fragrance for “special occasions,” when we’ll be out of the house or something. The moment he sprays it on, I swear, it drives me absolutely *feral*—and I’m talking eyes rolling back, “need you now,” wild woman frenzy feral. A real enveloping, deeply sensual, elegant-but-still-masculine-leaning scent. Immaculate job on Tyler and his team’s part.

This fragrance is quite strong for a light floral scent. What surprised me the most was the longevity of this. It lasts around 8 hours with 3 sprays. I think this scent is based off of a summer scent, but I wear it in the winter as well currently. As a reviewer below me shared, it smells niche quality. I have bought a 100 ml, and getting shipped a backup 100 ml. This will be my signature scent for the spring and summer.
