Totally captures the atmosphere of church in winter. I stopped going to church the moment I could, but I'm blown away by how this perfume transports me to that place and instead of all my negative associations it evokes a sense of solace, quiet, meditation, and reverence. I get amber, lots of incense, some spices, a little wood, a little earthiness. Dark, mysterious, with a definite point of view. It reminds me a little of Heretic's Smudge (makes sense as Douglas Little is the nose behind both and they have a similar vibe), but Smudge is sweeter and spicy-er while Church is darker and more subtle.

It does exactly what it says on the tin. It the uncanny smell of a European cathedral. If you’re looking for something gothic and “vampiric,” this is a great shout. It’s a one sprayer, totally intense gut punch with huge longevity and even huger sillage. But it is really special, and can be (gently) layered with something lighter and more sparkling for wearability. Incredibly pricey, but wow what a cool perfume.

Bought this at first release and have had it for years. It just gets better with age. This is a Catholic church at Christmas scent. Created by Heretic perfume house, a clean brand. If you love a pine incense with a hint of vanilla then definitely try this. It's definitely unisex. I love this and will never part with it.

The way they describe this perfume on the site is something else. "This is a scent composed entirely of rare, all-natural elements imbued with the power to entrance, heal, and transform. The olfactory fingerprint of each individual plant, where it was grown and how it grew gives this perfume its character, its mystery, and its beauty. It is pure, alive—the real thing." I do wonder about the shelf life since it's supposed to be all natural. I think we all buy a perfume expecting it to last three years or longer. I give Goop credit for an interesting theme behind their perfume. I'm a fan of winter and all the scents that capture the season.

For those of you wondering about it's shelf life, I've had my small bottle for about 4 years now and it's still the same. It is very woody and kind of scratchy to me. It is very unisex and smells like a cold mountain. My daughter doesn't like the smell, she says it smells like an old hippie. But my partner likes it. I have to be in the mood. It is serious and really stays the whole day.

Really looking forward to trying this, the all natural gluten free soy no chemicals concept is really interesting now that reports are coming out that ISO Super E is bio accumulative - all natural is the future???

Smells like church. No other way to describe it. The wood, the incense; if that’s your thing then you will love this. Incredibly well done for what it is.

Not made with any artificial ingredients? Hmm... Then the ingredient list is only going list chemical components from naturals as stipulated by law right?
