Diamond Jubilee Bouquet

This is a breathtakingly beautiful perfume, sadly I have only a sample and as only 500 bottles were apparently made it is unlikely to fall into my hands any time soon. And it is a shame this was such a limited run because this really is just gorgeous. I felt a surge of excitement as I sprayed the sample onto my skin, for the scent weaving its way up to my nostrils was, as another reviewer states, exquisite. This is the height of femininity, such a gorgeous bouquet this is. delicate, floral, a gossamer whisp of aroma that unfurls around the body and radiates from the skin. This is a wonderful floral I didn't know I needed until I smelled it. I felt bad for my poor little sample, being neglected until now, and so unassuming, from the list of notes I expected a standard rose-violet-iris type scent, but this is just so much more. The sillage is just divine. One thing I have noticed is that while the wafts of sillage are just sublime, if I press my nose closer the the skin this smells "thinner" and a little sharper, yet from more than a couple of inches away smells incredible. Not sure why! I get a tartness from the citrus, I get a stunning bouquet of beautiful florals, the amber, vanilla and vetiver are not distinguishable for me, but they perhaps influence the flowers to turn them into such beauty. I realise this is not the most informative review, I just seem to be stating that I love it repeatedly, but with more words. But this scent does the talking. I feel sad that I will likely never own a bottle of this, it retailed for about £200 for 50ml which is on the pricey side and yet I would happily pay that much (if I had it) to be able to wear this regularly. I have been impressed with this house so far and intend to sample further. Sillage is beautiful and moderate, longevity is reasonable at around 5 hours - would prefer better longevity.

Diamond Jubilee Bouquet is the last of my Grossmith samples to test, and what a good note to end on. My general feeling with this brand is that while their modern compositions are good, they generally cannot compete with the trio of original perfumes from the turn of the century, revived for a modern audience thanks to the discovery of the original handwritten formulas (Hasu-no-Hana, Shem-el-Nessim and Phul-Nana). However, DJB is the best of the new compositions (with Saffron Rose being a close second). A beautiful iris-focused floral, it gives the aforementioned trio a run for their money. Dry and powdery yet airy and green, it is objectively excellent as well as appealing to my personal taste. DJB opens with powdery, rooty orris, reminiscent of Chanel La Pausa. It is dry here, even slightly dusty initially, becoming more airy and powdery as it develops. Hay-like narcissus follows, polleny and green, with some green lily-of-the-valley adding a delicate fresh edge. Iris remains after the aforementioned florals subside, joined by a beautiful powdery violet note. Clove-like carnation follows, complementing the violet beautifully. Dry, woody vetiver emerges as it dries down, with dry, powdery vanilla adding just the right amount of sweetness. It becomes musky with a slight vanilla-amber accord detectable as it fades, with just a whisper of grassiness remaining. Sillage and longevity are moderate. An elegant, timeless feminine scent, DJB is a thing of beauty. Vintage-style yet wearable for a modern audience, it is classic in style and tailor-made for springtime. I just wish the performance was better, considering the price. Beautiful regardless. 4.5/5.

The prototype should be 1897, the Victorian Bouquet created by Grossmith to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession to the throne. Diamond Jubilee Bouquets has amber undertones. In spring, the misty floral fragrance is filled with the warmth of amber, the sweetness of vanilla, the blooming roses, orris root and violets. In autumn, the classical flavors of heliotrope, fennel and Carnation are added, the femininity of jasmine and orange blossom. Texture of Diamond Jubilee Bouquets, from the compressed powder, it expands and swells into a cloud of soft blues, yellows, greens, pinks and purples, rolling in the wind in the sky. Do you remember L'Heure Bleue and Apres L'Ondee too? Top-quality materials and exquisite recipes. Each of Grossmith's fragrances has a special vibe. Diamond Jubilee Bouquets are indeed Victorian or Edwardian. Nice to try this ancient scent.

Diamond jubilee bouquet is a gorgeous, a fresh floral accord atop a classy, naturalistic, creamy and rounded iris/orris powder, shocked with mild greens and purples. I say 'natural' because it doesn't seem to break up into sweet carrot slop or individual papery ionones, nor is it complete powdery, parma violets affair, it's strikes a lovely balance, as does everything Grossmith have put in a bottle to my recollection. It's a little timid in terms of lasting power and impact and perceived value, especially at these prices, but hey let's not crucify it for that, thank goodness Grossmith haven't resorted to keeping up with trends or making big noxious bombs, attempting to be the next big thing in luxury perfume, especially surprising as they strive to make it in the middle eastern market. A fine perfume then, the opening few minutes is nothing short of magic and is worth wearing for that alone, but compared with the other excellent offerings from this house it ranks somewhat lower.

[Nov. 2020] I think this may be hard to believe... but check Grossmith for the Diamond Jubilee Bouquet again. I Have Two Spoilers: 1. This coveted perfume, which was once limited to 500, is back in stock. 2. It's being sold at not £475, but £185 for 50 ml! I preferred the design of this perfume over Grossmith's Nessim anyway. ...Into my collection this goes. Let's go!! (Oh-- and if you're out of the US or UK like me, use the Forward2Me to get it sent to you. ...Probably one of the only reshipping services with a good rating.)

Opulent, radiant iris, completely different than any iris scents I know. All components of iris supported classic ingredients: violet, vanilla, jasmine, vanilla, carnation. But still does not classically slight, but completely original, strong, powerful and strong smell, this is the king of all irises.

A luxurious powdery woody perfume created from many floral notes including violet with an iris root background. $$$$ due to the caliber of raw materials used in the formula. But how else could it be if the perfume was dedicated to queen Elizabeth's II jubilee and actually presented to the lady?

Diamond Jubilee Bouquet is an exquisite take on Floral Woody Musk. The best of ingredients in a unique and sophisticated blend. Sheer perfection, beyond words. The sillage however is extremely weak and longevity is about fourty minutes to an hour. Why, oh why?...

i remember this fragrances was launched for the Queen as of her birthday in 2012, and he only made 500 pieces distributed around the world, in here 5 to 7 pieces are sold out and only 2 remained, one is already reserved for a lady from Qatar and she will arrive tomorrow to buy it, and another one is there now waiting for a buyer & he became me :) . it costs 365$ for 50ml (around 7.3$ an ml) and to be honest it deserves it. This is a classic fragrance & it has the stamp of grossmith's. it is the crystal junipers. citrusy flowery junipers with a hint of vanilla. Lilly of the valley is sharply shown accompanies the vanilla and the citrus in away that makes it sophisticated and elegant. the amber is weak but robust, the iris is soft and the violets & roses (which are the Queen's favorites) are mashed with the vanilla as well. neither vetiver nor jasmine are detected. the silage is quite strong and the longevity is not long as you need to apply more often after 2 hours or so. to be honest, the longevity should be like that cause if this fragrance is overpowered it'll turn into disturbing rather than charming. quite good and luring. one last note, never apply any of his fragrances on a plotter, you'll never get the real fragrance essence and the longevity. apply it on your skin only. note: the main drawback of all Grossmith's fragrances is the spray, the top piece that sprays the fragrance. however, after few sprays that piece on top kind of wears down or melts, in another way the smell of it turns very metallic. this could be because of the quality of the spray itself, or maybe the fragrance itself is quite strong in away that the spray material can't handle it's strength or density. so i wish they take this into consideration cause this might ruin the essence as it has direct connection with the fragrance.

If this perfume were a person it would be an old British lady, always immaculately turned out. Coiffed hair, blouse, pearls at her neck and diamonds in her ears. Drinks from a tea cup always has fresh flowers in the house.. Never raises her voice, mortified at the idea of making a fuss. When I read the notes on this one I didn't think I would like it but it was so elegant and refined. The powdery iris and violet combo is one of my favourites but it so often tips from "Duchess" to "Nana", not here. It lasted all day on me but the sillage was non-existent, shame considering the price point. It won't make it into my full bottle wants list but I will definitely turn to this sample again when I feel the need for some quiet comfort and nostalgia. Edit : I couldn't stop thinking about this and now I have a bottle. I love it

Very powdery almost dusty at the beginning, then quickly turns into a soft, airy, powdery dream. The scents all blend with each other so well that I cannot tell what makes it so beautiful. It has a dry, smooth and non-sugary sweetness that reminds me of the wooden drawer where my grandma stored my favourite snacks - dried dates and dried grapes. There is a hint of citrusiness hidden at the back, and some bitterness when I put my nose really close to my wrist. Although I probably would not wear this perfume everyday, I feel comfortable and safe when surrounded by this scent. I agree with those who mentioned L'Heure Bleue and Apres L'Ondee, try these two if you are looking for a less powdery or less sweet version of Diamond Jubilee Bouquet.

7.5/10. Very different from the other Grossmith scents and quite unique in general. This is novel. Has the Grossmith usual incense note but in a completely different and much lighter way. White and yellow flowers. Meyer lemon rind. New pine tree shoots. Cedar. Candy sweetness. Later rose and faint vanilla. Not my usual profile but could grow into it. I really like the tanginess of the citrus and floral.

Perfectly balanced bouquet of flowers and herbs! The drydown is also pure class.

I was expecting this to blow me away and teach me a solid lesson about high quality perfumery. To be honest, it mainly taught me that not all expensive scents are worth their price. It starts as an old-fashioned, almost old ladylike scent, which suits the occasion it was created for. A diamond jubilee scent should reflect the past and the old world and have some gravitas. It's woody, powdery and green initially, then slowly the flowers come forth and take over. By then, the show is almost over which is sad, because that's where the perfume really shines. I couldn't really follow the development of the scent because it disappeared from my skin after 40 minutes, but as I walked into the chilly room where I had applied it, I smelt a beautiful airy bouquet, a lighter delicate L'Heure Bleue, but it lasted for a mere second. One breath and the magic was gone. I'll personally stick to L'Heure Bleue, which has much better sillage and longevity, and try to layer it with other scents should I ever want to smell this again. All in all: you're standing along the road, having queued for hours to get a good view of the queen's carriage and get a peek on all the glory and splendour. Then it drives past and in the blink of an eye, you catch a glimt of the diamonds, exquisit silk and velvet, then the show is over. You walk home, sit down in your garden and feel the scents from the flowers you already have, simpler, but far richer and long-lasting, and realize that you're probably just as happy with the simpler things.

Fragrance Review For Diamond Jubilee Bouquet Grossmith Top Notes Narcissus Lily of the Valley Citrus Middle Notes Carnation Iris Jasmine Rose Violet Base Notes Vetiver Musk Amber Tonka Vanilla Hawthorn A modern classic, a throwback to floral fragrances of the Victorian/Edwardian eras. I was hoping to get something like that especially because we will never know what the Grossmith perfume VICTORIAN BOUQUET smelled like. It's a long lost perfume. Perhaps this is a good recreation or homage. It was created for Queen Elizabeth II on her Jubilee. That woman has been the longest reigning monarch of the UK surpassing even Victoria. This is strictly for floral fans. The opening is a fresh sweet citrus but it never turns into orange juice or citric aftershave. It's got a green scent as well, coming from lily of the valley and green synthetic notes in green floral scents. The narcissus is very evident as the floral heart begins to reveal itself. Beautiful flowers in this bouquet: carnation, jasmine, rose, violet and iris. Some of these flowers smell realistic like the jasmine petals, the carnation and aforementioned lily of the valley. But the rose and iris give it a rose powder scent. If you like rose powder this is definitely a powdery rose. Fortunately it never turns into Ombre Rose either. The dry down is vetiver, herbal, and mossy, and it also has some musk. The vanilla is also a very nice touch. Feminine floral fragrance. It does smell very mature but at the same time fresh and youthful like a fragrance for a young queen, a young woman who has a mature heart. This also reminds me of the first Agent Provocateur and Maitresse. It's a floral lover's dream.

Big fan of Grossmith here, and this is a lovely perfume, in the old fashioned style, longevity, none, sillage, not much, what does it remind me of? A hefty old price tag for something which , when all's said and done, reminds me completely of Squirrel Floral Gums.
