Terracotta Eau de Toilette

This is the epitome of a lazy summer day near water. You smell the flowers blooming, but there is this beautiful breeze that keeps coming through with waves of coconut in the background. This is a luxurious scent that puts you in a good mood. It is my SOTD today, and I love how I keep smelling it every time I move. Even though it is not beast mode, it is still moderate and has a decent longevity. I loved it so much I already bought a backup since I was able to get it for only $89.

Hello my friends, this is pure coconut with jasmine in a perfume. For coconut lovers and perfect for summer days . I would love much more longevity and to be the perfume edition, and not the eau de toilette but they told me that the perfume edition is stopped so we have to stay with edt

I hope this means it will once again be available in the US. I was able to purchase this a number of years ago (maybe around 2015) from the Guerlain boutique in Las Vegas and then when I wanted to repurchase, it was no longer sold anywhere here. One of my favorite summer fragrances.

No coconut 🥥 phew 😅 ! Terracotta had to grow on me the first time around. There was a fad for sunscreen scents before this one ( Bronze Goddess springs to mind but sure there were others ) and they really didn't appeal to me because I didn't relish lying on beaches and don't like coconut ( and it was already in SO many hair and body products ). It had no positive connotations. But... I’d always had Terracotta bronzing products and loved the smell. Go figure ? 🤷🏼♀️ So I tried it and, to me, there never WAS any coconut. It's a gardenia, jasmine and ylang-ylang fragrance with something a bit warmer underneath ( it always felt more ambery than musk, like a lighter version of the base from Dune maybe ? ) This iteration is the same, no coconut. It is lighter however. Which is usually a cause for complaint but, this is a perfume that is meant for summer days, for holidays and, yes, beach cafes. Do we really want it to be THAT strong, in the sweltering sun ? I once got into a car wearing the original on a very hot day and let's just say, everybody else in the car was also aware I was wearing it. I actually think this version might just be MORE wearable. Just think of it as the Aqua Allegoria version of Terracotta. In fact if you like Lys Soleria but prefer gardenia to lily, this might just be for you !

Guerlain should have used this as the base for Cruel Gardenia, which smells like soap and nothing else. This smells like monoi oil, which is coconut oil infused with gardenia flower. It smells a lot like the potted gardenias I encounter for sale in garden stores. I reckon I'll get a full bottle soon.

A very sophisticated tiare perfume. There is something sour in there, but it's not that bad, giving it a vintage feeling.

Delicious ylang ylang monoi de tahiti, while also a very realistic jasmin flower.

First I thought: No, I'm not going to like it. It smells like one of those overly sweet Avon perfumes from the 80s. But then something happens. The dry down. I should have known. It's Guerlain after all. Their dry downs are always amazing. So it starts of with screechy white florals, lots of them, mixed with coconut. It's almost as if you can smell every single note in an uncomfortable, badly blended way. Every note sticks out like a sore thumb. But then those white florals, the coconut and the amazing (very soft vanilla and musk I can smell) base notes are starting to mix together and you are left with a creamy, almost banana like, scent. But very creamy, soft banana. It's stunning actually. I can see this being a perfect scent for summer holidays and the beach. Or for anyone who like banana and coconut desserts. Lovely!

Tenía expectativas de que iba a ser mi perfume de verano y reemplazaría a mi Terracotta Le Parfum.y al Alien Goddes pero no. Tiene una apertura fabulosa, veraniega y refinada pero en mi piel a los 20" queda cítrico al 100%. Cabe destacar que no me gustan los aromas cítricos ..Desaparece la cremosidad del coco y la vainilla y no queda nada del ylang ylang ni de la flor de tiare.

Nope, not the same. It is of course similar to the OG but no way it's the same fragrance. Buy the round bottles if you still can and you will get the opulent intoxicating Terracota that performs like a perfume, not EDT. LVMH is not letting an ounce of creativity stand in a way of maximizing their profits.

Although it is a nice blend of coconut and tiare eau de toilette it fades quickly. The longevity is about an hour and then it almost disappears. It does not worth its money :(

I thought it would be just what I crave, but in drydown it gave only the smell of burnt coconut (not a bad thing in itself) and didn't last.

Really bad strong Arabic jasmine

Yet another very pretty yellow floral. I know it’s mainly listed as a white floral, but as soon as there is ylang-ylang in the heart, I can smell it right away. Still, the jasmine and tiare create a nice balance between yellow and white florals, which makes it a little more distinct. But yet another yellow floral profile from Guerlain that I really enjoyed — L’Instant and Champs-Élysées are so beautiful, and this one follows in the right steps as well. I heard people saying that yellow florals can be too much for them, and therefore they choose white florals instead. When you’re someone who likes the idea of yellow florals but is not completely at the point where you can wear turbos like Lancôme Poême, this would be a great compromise or a starter. It’s not such a commitment or statement fragrance that requires courage. It’s a lovely summer scent — balanced and harmonious.

Apparently Terracotta Le parfum (edt) also passed for the collection of Les Legendaries, and of course with the change we lost 25ml because the presentation of these is 75ml, when they unified these fragrances in the bottles of the bees (100ml) I was not very happy because as a collector I like to have the fragrances of Guerlain in the original bottles that were launched that apart from having a well marked identity are very beautiful, they did not have enough the change and they took the bottles of the in which Mitsouko and L'heure bleue were sold in their years, but not in the format of La petite robe noire of 100ml but they reduced their format to 75ml and do not sell them at the same price, in short...... let's hope it's not also a reformulation of the beautiful Terracotta at least the notes are exactly the same.

I blind bought this hoping it would be my next signature summer coconut scent, because it is listed in most blogs writing about "the best coconut scents". There are many perfumes with this profile out there but I haven't found the one that exactly hits the spot yet. Unfortunately, this one doesn't hit the spot either. Although it is a very fine perfume and I still like it, I really hoped it would be creamier and more coconutty. I get zero Coconut and zero vanilla 😢 Nonetheless, the florals are beautifully composed, and if you're into tropical flowers this is a great perfume. Be prepared to reapply a few times throughout the day because it fades pretty quickly.

Terracota, Eau de Toilettte, by Guerlain, smells like a vanilla sweetened, delicious coconut, linden and frangipani (yellow and white flowers) and powder. A gorgeous tropical combination. Tropical fruits and tropical flowers. A tropical vacation. When it dries down, the scent is more focused on a powdery frangipani flower. This perfume is one of my favorite tropical fragrances. The previous bottle was so much more beautiful, it's such a shame they replaced it. The projection and longevity is really good, there will be a creamy tropical cloud floating around you.

LVMH is milking Guerlain dry! It's actually very simple math! Currently, they sell Terracotta Le Parfum in a 100 ml bottle for 106€. Their Les Légendaires Eaux de Toilette are all priced 128€, sold in the 75 ml Mitsouko bottle. So... Terracotta will very likely get the same price tag as every other EdT in that collection. In the end, they save money by discontinuing the Terracotta Le Parfum bottle, while also having an excuse to raise the price from 1,06€ per ml to 1,71€ per ml. A true win-win for LVMH, as the money flow keeps growing.

I never had the chance to sample the OG version. I tested this current version on skin recently, and I have very mixed feelings. The scent itself is a lovely, beachy white floral. So summery and dreamy. I want to love it. But where is the longevity? Why is projection so poor? If I hadn't tested this in an actual store, I would have suspected I was dealing with a diluted/ cheap dupe version. Guerlain, I love you, but you cannot be serious. This is weaker than a SdJ body spray!
