Guess Seductive Noir Homme

This was the first fragrance I ordered from an online discounter almost a year ago. Total blind buy. I was really new to this game and didn't know what to expect, but I'd read some good reviews and it was cheap so why not? I was impressed when I first smelled it. Smooth, elegant, and really pleasant. But meh, I was sure there were better fragrances out there. After a year of exploring the vast landscape of men's fragrances and spending and reselling over $1000 worth of products, I could never let this one go. I heard it was like 1 million, so I tried them side by side. They're very similar, but I like this one more. Someone said it was similar to Boss Bottled EDP and I get that same vibe... but the vetiver for BB didn't sit well on me. Guess Seductive Noir is just a solid, beautiful fragrance that is a safe bet both in smell and price point. It doesn't knock anyone's socks off, but not one person I've asked has disliked it or even said it was just okay. Everyone likes it. Like water it morphs to it's surroundings. It can be dark and classy, or subtle and soothing, or fresh and clean. I've heard all those compliments. Worth a try 100%.

Everyone else says that it's close to 1 Million, but that's just the sweetness. 1 Million is pretty spicy with it cinnamon, but this fragrance doesn't have any spice to my nose. Which scent is 100% an individual's personal perception, and I get that. But I do own a fragrance that is a dead ringer for this one. Zara's Intense Dark Exclusive is exactly the same in the opening and mid. I'm sure that they remain identical through the dry-down also as they are both very much linear scents, but I honestly haven't compared that side by side and so I won't pass judgement on that part just yet. I like both, though I do enjoy the opening of the Zara frag a little bit more as the apple note is brighter and a tad less synthetic than the Guess fragrance. Though I think I prefer the mid of the Guess fragrance a little more as it literally seems to gain potency for the first 45 minutes to hour of wear. I'm going to go wash my left hand and test them side by side through to the dry-down and complete this review afterwards.

A great example of an ‘Excellent Cologne’. Off the rip when spraying it you get this Orange filled aroma with a mixture of chocolate, vanilla, and black pepper. It smells quite exactly like Paco Rabanne’s “One Million” cologne; the scent then slowly fades into this fresh and sweet orange, pepper with a hint of a grape fruit smell that is beautiful. In my opinion this fragrance is 9.2/10! Arguably the best one in my collection.

Guess Noir Men is a sophisticated fragrance that opens with fresh bergamot and evolves into a warm heart of lavender and spices. I purchased the blue edition before I bought the noir and the blue seems to really shine during colder weather cause I just didn’t like it when it was warmer out. about the noir it’s very synthetic on the blast just like the others but the dry down is semi luxurious I say it reminds me of a Cadillac :) modest yet elegant,it’s opening is very off putting but it’s perfect for layering once it drys down.

Instead of Invictus Victory or Azzaro The Most Wanted just get this for half the price! This is a sweet night out fragrance but good for day time purposes as well. I get a similarity to the first Guess Seductive, very bubblegum sweet but more Noir! This is a love at first sniff if you like this genre of sweet men's fragrances and it's an easy blind buy! For me this is worth getting a backup bottle!

This is a real hidden gem, If 1Million and Invictus spawned a cologne this would be it. I do not feel it is a clone, similar scent yes, but this would work well in the cooler months. Is starts out slightly spicy with the black pepper but within 20 minutes the Tonka is shouting, this is the sweet creaminess people are smelling. No problem on a blind buy either and 100ml <$20.00

Okay, for the price, all I can say is AMAZING. I get so many compliments from this fragrance and I just feel good about myself when I'm wearing it. It's definitely one of my daily go-to's. Longevity is very good and the balance of the different notes is incredible. I'm overly happy with this blind buy!

I am no perfumer nor have a nose that picks up different notes. On the opening I do get 1 million vibes and in the dry down I start to get somewhat of Givenchy gentleman boisée. I like it very much. I have yet to test longevity, but for a cheap fragrance additional resprays wont hurt.

Wow. Bought 100ml for €18. This opens up like a 2014 1 million batch (got one). But it settles down into a mix of 1 million and spicebomb extreme. About 60/40. About to test sillage and longevity but for the price this is actually really good! My new dumb to reach fragrance.

Just discovered this and I must say it is amazing. It has a very manly smell. I noticed a chemical smell mentioned by other users but it isn't overwhelming imo. You could wear this pretty much anywhere. 8.5/10.

It's an unnecessary clone of 1 Million which doesn't outperform or even match the performance of the original and it's sold for half the price of an already cheap and accessible fragrance

Very good value for money. No synthetic smell or middle eastern vibe (I bought this at a cost less than most of the popular middle eastern fragrance) 1 million's vibe/DNA in a budget.

One of the best winter smells ever. For 35 dollar at chemist warehouse this cheapie rocks. I sprayed it 11 hours ago and it smells great. The bottle looks great too.

The best guess fragrance and one of the best cheapies in the market, gets compliments and very suitable for cold winter days or autumn nights.

* Good combination of sweet, fruity and spicy/oriental aromas that is very smooth on the nose * Settles into a nice aromatic and slightly spicy finish * Beautiful stylish square bottle * Opens like Spicebomb, dries down like 1 Million * Very good for formal occasions * Very affordable and punches far, far above its current price point * Best fragrance in the Guess Seductive Homme series * There are much better spicy/oriental discount, clone, designer and niche fragrances on the market (though some will obviously cost a lot more) including Moustache, Fire Your Desire, Hot Water, the entire Spicebomb line and Tuxedo to name a few * The spiciness and sweetness which are the draws of the cologne fade away too fast Guess Seduction Homme Noir opens with a pungent and sweet spicy aroma before transitioning into a very sweet and fruity aroma. I immediately understand why everyone compares it to Paco Rabanne 1 Million but IMHO a better comparison would be the orginal Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb. The openings are almost identical. However, GSHN wastes no time moving into a sweet and fruity stage as it begins to dry down and this clearly top of everyone's mind based on the posts below me. Once fully dry, the sweet spice returnsa little as it settles into a powdery, musky and aromatic full drydown. The spice is much more noticeable and lasts longer on clothing than on skin. This is incredible value for the money as it's a discount fragrance and punches far above its low price point. So far so good. It's far superior to both the original and the Blue flanker in the line. Where it falls is that it's two main draws, the spice and the fruity sweetness, fade away far too quickly for my liking, leaving just the fresh powder and musk behind. This invites overspraying to get the opening and middle to last longer but that incurs the risk of the end notes becoming too strong and turning soapy and unpleasant. There are far better performers that fall into the spicy/oriental aroma family that have staying power on the spicy notes at all price levels (discount, clone, designer, niche). The entire Spicebomb line, Davidoff's Hot Water, YSL Tuxedo and its various clone competitors just to name a few. Note, however, that you also won't get these at the price you can get GSHN for. This is very good for cooler months, outdoor activities and formal occasions. It leans older for men in their 30s and above. Overall a very good buy at a great price unless you already have other better spicy/oriental style colognes in your collection already. I also want to note that the black and gold square bottle is really quite beautiful and stylish. IMHO this really deserves a stronger reformulation and a higher price tag that would raise this from discount level into a designer level cologne.
