Jefe

EVERY SEASON ALL DAY!!! Good lord, this perfume is great! A regular at our job came and sprayed it on himself, and the room was complements. I pulled out my phone and asked him immediately. It's delightfully fruity for a men's fragrance, and a showstopper!

Jefe is a pretty generic aquatic fragrance that is masculine and versatile. Although I'm testing it in winter and can be worn anytime of the year, it probably shines in summer. In a way, it's similar to Mikul (a blue fragrance) which I tested the other day, only Jefe has a noticeable aquatic accord that Mikul lacks. The aquatic accord is mild and watery - doesn't remind me of the ocean - just makes the fragrance fresh. No need to fear the ambergris note. I've certainly smelled something similar to Jefe many times (various Tommy Bahama and Acqua dell'Elba scents come to mind), so there's nothing ground breaking here. Performance is also moderate. If you are looking for a mainstream-pleasing and versatile aquatic and don't want true oceanic notes or something overpowering, give Jefe a try. UPDATE (1/18/2025): I've completed testing all of the Guy Fox fragrances available in their two sample sets. One set is for the "Founder's Reserve" Collection while the other contains all their standard releases. Here's my ranking of all of them, with a few notes: First group, ranked in order of my preference. These are the top Guy Fox fumes in my book - full bottle worthy, with Nightcap being the best: 1. Nightcap 2. Fairway 3. Vince 4. Nelson Second group, no rank or order, just grouped together. Nice scents. I like them, but not enough to buy a FB: Aspen Primo Mikul Jefe Preston Third group, no rank or order, just grouped together. OK, somewhat generic. Mediocre performance for some: Palmer Tyler Marra JP Fourth group. Just plain awful. Was almost a scrubber for me: Riviera

Middle aged Georgia cowboy here: Just got in my fragrance sampler (10 samples in just 3 days across the country - impressive) and Jefe is the 7th one I'm trying. This one is unique compared to the others I've tried below. It starts up quite orangey but quickly turns into an ocean scent with a clean hot sheets out of the drier smell. Quite clean and nice. I like alot. This would work best on a warm day or as a summer vacation scent. Oh, and I think it's pronounced "Heff-ay" with the J having the H sound but in my head I call it "Jeff-ie" with the J sound. Can't take the Georgia out of the boy ya know. For me 8.0/10. Of those in the sample I've tried so far from fave to least: Palmer (9/10) (piney/woodsy) Primo (8/10) (smoky/leathery) different from the others so far, very manly Jefe (8/10) (orangey then oceanic with clean hot linen) different from the others so far, very beachy JP (7.5/10) (limey/woodsy/classy) Vince (7/10) (limey/woodsy) Marra (6/10) (limey/woodsy) Tyler (6/10) (citrussy/coconutty/woodsy)

smells very similar to Grant. Jefe is by no means a bad fragrance, but it has this...what i can only describe as a "brown" smell. like you took a bite of an apple and laid it on the table for a few hours and the air hit it. has this fruity note that just reminds me of the smell of an apple that's started to turn brown.

Very good masculine freshy. Reminds me a lot of Ocean Noir by Michael Malul. Just not as good performance. Very solid if you’re new to fragrances or just want something simple.

I stopped wrighting reviews based on trying samples, and usually wait for at least 3 full proper wearings to form my opinion rather than rush with first impression. But since I'm definitely not buying full bottle of it, and my opinion after 2 wearings is exactly the same, here I go... Off my skin it smells exactly like if someone mixed 50/50 Davidoff Cool Water original EDT with either original Hawas or any of early Invictus iterations. Since I'm not crazy about Hawas/Invictus, and can't stand Cool Water it's a definite no go for me. Interestingly enough, it's longevity, and even more so projection when sprayed on paper drops from moderate to weak. For projection to be louder off skin is totally normal, but longevity dropping from 4-5 hours on skin to about 1 hour on paper is quite unusual. After mind blowing great Nightcup and excellent Riviera from this house Jefe is as disappointing and unimpressive as its name is - Jefe. At least they didn't wasted good name on blah fragrance.

Sampling Guy Fox - Jefe, my first try of this men’s line that I’ve seen advertised plenty and of which I finally ordered a sample set from Ministry of Scent. It’s a fairly straightforward aquatic scent with a bit of the sea foam / semi-dirty marine accord, along with fresh green and citric notes and a bit of oakmoss, as well. It comes off as a quite synthetic, a bit of a teenage vibe from the 90s and 2000s, but that does make it sort of wearable and universal if not especially masculine by stereotype. Overall, it’s okay, but I’m not inclined to leap to buy it. The pricing is modest, no doubt part of its appeal, $68 for 50ml in EDP concentration, and it performs decently well. 6 out of 10

I thought this was just okay, but my girlfriend liked it a lot better than I did. It was soapy more than anything else to me, but with woody and mossy notes as it dried down. Much like the rest of Guy Fox's line, I found it to just smell like I was fresh out of the shower rather than wearing a fragrance. Nothing wrong with that, just nothing particularly unique. Overall inoffensive and fine for an everyday wear, just not really for me.

Very reminiscent of your GIT, Tres Nuit, and such. Not 1-to-1; however, if you are familiar with these, you'll pick it up immediately. It's nice and the quality is there. I would say their house is certainly worth sampling, which you can from their website. There are some winners for sure. Grant is really good and Mikel is as well. Check them out!!

jefe means boss in spanish.. looking at the notes this scent is more suited for retail business managers
