This is a quality fragrance. I received five 7.5 oz decants as a gift and they're all very high quality and very long-lasting even in the hot, humid summer months that test the strength some of the best-rated fragrances. My skin typically absorbs other citrus fragrances within an hour or so - for example, I just purchased Guerlain's Eau Boise which is undetectable after 15 minutes (!) on my skin (seven spritzes too!). Haeckels, on the other hand, is powering through this 30-degree weather like it's a mild autumn afternoon with only two (2!) spritzes. It's very concentrated so that's really all you need. The scent itself - Pegwell Bay - is a herbal bomb with an invigorating top note of bitter orange that is just perfect for summer. It's unique, has great silage, and the longevity is excellent (6 hours in the heat, 9 hours in mild weather). It's the only brand where, after spraying it on my hand, I can clearly 'see' that is of top-quality; there's a slight oily dispertion that can be seen in the application which I can't speak of for any of my other 40 fragrances. Well worth the purchase, even blind-buy. A niche keeper! The only thing I would ask the company to include would be the name of the fragrance on the decants, if possible. Currently, their names are printed on velvet sleeves in which the decants are protected, but the gold ink wears off after some time and so if I was to ever misplace the velvets sleeves, or if they were all to fade completely, I'd be left with a head-scratching challenge of trying to figure out which frag is which. There's something about Pegwell Bay that actually reminds me of Seville, Spain, and naturally, the colour of a dried orange. Edit July 2021: this is very similar in the dry down to Orion tiziana terenzi minus the pineapple. Lasts about the the same amount of time, too!

The best performing, highest quality 'freshie' I've ever encountered. Having been ultimately disappointed by Spring/Summer fragrances from houses like Creed/Xerjoff, I chanced upon this house whilst in Margate. An all-natural, seaweed skin-care and 'wild fragrance' company, with a beautiful shop in Margate. The fragrance name is a grid reference, a location, and the fragrance is an 'aromatic snapshot' of the location. This location is amongst salt marshes, where fennel grows. The aniseed quality of fennel is the main player in the fragrance, which combines perfectly with oily citrus, mint and lavender, peppered with delicate spice and juniper, then with fir and to add depth. Utterly herbaceous, refreshing and invigorating.

Absolutely stunning fragrance. Many "freshie" scents are very refreshing, but are often quite boring and then typically only last about an hour. This is very complex, has amazing performance and still retains that lovely refreshing edge. The quality is exceptional. You are immediately transported to the seaside with this slightly salty fennel, then you have the juicy orange and herbs underneath, it's a perfect summer fragrance. I've tried them all from Haeckels and while there are some other great fragrances, this just has a certain magic about it.

Super concentrated scent especially when compared with the sample in the discovery set. I even let my bottle macerate for 18 months or so and have just gone back to it recently. It’s still quite sharp (I think this speaks to the overall quality/intensity of the oils used in this fragrance) but when applied from an extra few inches away than usual it really opens up into a beautifully fresh vetiver based masculine perfume. Best suited for long hot days imo

I'm so happy I've a bottle, its hard to get now. Truth is, this is one of the best fresh aromatic fragrances around. Mousse Illuminee and Trumper's Eucris are similar but on steroids. And there lies the rub, wearing these risk gassing anyone in a 10 foot radius. This is more of a spring/summer frag, subtle, dare I say it very natural and beautiful, more wearable as a result. A huge love from me. 5/5

This fragrance is fantastic. Delicious anise opening full of class and elegance, herbs woods. One of the few fresh fragrances that I can only describe as giving the phwoarrr factor. The performance is excellent and if you garner compliments then this is for you.

AKA Pegwell Bay. A fantastic herbaceous, masculine leaning (IMO) scent. A lot fresher than the notes may suggest. Gorgeous!

Banger. I will never not have this in my collection. Masterpiece.

I just got a 7.5ml sample decant of this Pegwell Bay from their website and it came in a lovely box with a postcard of the location the scent was inspired by. Also the decant came within a black velvet pouch so full marks on presentation. For those who have no idea about this scent or the creators let me give you some information before I describe the scent. Haeckels has a shop in the lovely Margate area that sells products with all natural ingredients. They have a range of Edp fragrances that are based on areas around their location with the ingredients sourced from the area as well. They even have a lovely video of each of the areas the scents were inspired by so you can wear the scent and check out the video at the same time. Which is what I did for the Pegwell Bay scent. Now onto the fragrance. It opens up very soft and spicy with bitter orange and anise smelling fennel. There is lavender, herbs, citrus, juniper, spice and it smells really really good. I cannot help thinking that this is the type of scent Armani could have released back in the Eighties, it's like a night time version of Armani Eau Pour Homme. Where as that one was all about bright lemon citrus, this has that same quality citrus spice but darker. I got to say it does smell fantastic and worthy of the hype. It's very natural smelling but I do get that Armani going out on the town during the night vibe. If this was a Armani release it would imo be a big popular seller. I cannot believe this quality has come from a unknown shop in Margate selling natural products. I could go clubbing with this scent and have the ladies gushing over my fragrance. lol

This one is a natural beauty and definitely has the wow factor. It opens bright, with a green, peppery and spicy blast. You can taste and feel the top end of each of these notes, while the bottom ends combine to form an addictive note of its own, almost reminiscent of powerhouse 80s colognes. But please don't let this 80s comparison steer you away ... it's done in a very tasteful and modern homage sort of way. The mid notes are pure aromatic bliss. The smell projects and yet doesn't slap you in the face, but rather politely smiles as if to say, "you and I both know I'm here, so let's just enjoy." Then the base becomes woody, while still maintaining its green quality. This may bother some of the readers here, but I have to say that the dry down has some similarities of both Green Irish Tweed's woodiness and Aventus musk ... but again, I mean this in the best way possible. These two components keep you coming back over and over again to smell and wonder. This is a pure delight, not to mention very long lasting. The scent unfolds slowly and keeps getting better and better. Of the 75 or so scents that I own, this one has left one incredibly good impression on me. I look forward to wearing it this summer and autumn. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10

I tried this today (at Radio King's Cross). I will buy it next month. It is outstanding, unusual with the fennel, complex and mood smoothing.
