Megaflower

This is the best example for me when you have ideas about what a perfume like this would smell and when your opinion changes in a very positive way. I would say this fragrance is very creamy, it is a creamy floral, definitely not the flower shop kind of floral. Before wearing this throughout the day I was a bit scared it would be too loud and overpowering after some time, like when you wear a gourmand that gets too suffocating over time, but it did no. It got quiet over time, and left a nice creamy sweetness on the skin. I wish the bottle design would allow users to see the gorgeous orange colour of this perfume, because even just looking at it, when I got the tester, it made me want to spray this on myself all day long or just stare at it, it is happiness in a bottle. What is the most suprising, however, is that since it is in an oil base you can rub in the spritz and it just smells even better, yummy!

I love this. I would never recommend it for a man.

As its name suggests, Hermetica Megaflower seems centered on flowers, and opens with a bright, flesh, floral burst. Bergamot, mandarin, and orange blossom create a citrus/floral bouquet that eases into a dry down of amber, vetiver, and patchouli. It’s a great freshie for its opening hour or two and then becomes a more modest blend in the dry down. I get the full “MEGAflower” effect for some time before it eases into the base notes and a more year-round-friendly arrangement, albeit much less boastfully than in the opening. As with most of the Hermetica offerings, the alcohol-free composition facilitates a very strong opening but a significant decline in projection thereafter. Megaflower and other Hermetica scents work quite well for those that want to private enjoy the loudness of the opening but appreciate the mellowness of the dry down, and similarly don’t require that their fragrances carry on for more than six hours or so. I didn’t recall loving it when I first smelled it but Megaflower is one of my favorites of the line—fresh, floral, agreeably boastful, and pleasantly woody and earthy in the dry down, still with the levity of the orange blossom. Very nice stuff, and one I’d seriously consider at its retail pricing of $195 for 100ml / $135 for 50ml, given just how pleasant it is. 7 out of 10

Very charming and tangy, - a big, bouncy, modern and clean-lined orange-blossom scent - but to my nose just a shade too synthetic to fully convince. It smells lab-built rather than garden-grown and I miss the full spectrum of leafy, botanical, earthy or even indolic notes that make some more naturalistic orange-blossoms like Lutens Fleur d'oranger so appealing to me. I give Megaflower a nod of respect for its lovely, clean, citric version of vetiver, the rare treatment of the note I can love, and for the scent's robust personality and performance (sillage not huge, and it's pretty linear, but the pleasure lasts for up to 5-6h, not bad at all.) Juice is a lurid orange colour so watch out if you're thinking of applying it to light linen clothes on a summer day - a shame, as that's exactly the sort of scenario that Megaflower seems made for. Leaves me a little baffled overall - yes it's fine, I'd happily wear any time, but at this price I struggle to see the point of it given other available options. If you really do gravitate towards hyper-polished hyper-modern stuff, though, and definitely want to go for a specifically minimal yet energetic and extrovert floral - it could work!

Piquant ambery-orange blossom on a bed of vetiver that I like (don’t normally care for vetiver). Linear & pretty all the way. PSA ⚠️: This oil-based orange juice will irreparably stain anything you spray it on.

A smooth, creamy and sweet orange flower. I think I'm a bit nose blind to Hermetica perfumes - I need to overspray a lot and can only just smell them which is a shame. Megaflower is an almost lactonic orange flower scent, pretty linear but unique and lovely all the same. One gripe I have with this perfume is the liquid itself is tinted orange. I've only ever sprayed this on my skin but I shudder to think what would happen to a crisp white shirt collar if you sprayed onto your neck. Megaflower is youthful and sweet, maybe adjacent to Ariana Grande's "Cloud" level of sweet/lactonic but with more of an orange floral vibe (and minus the perfumers alcohol). I can imagine this being worn on fun day trips or casual events in cooler weather.

Overall, this is just kind of "meh" to me. On first spray, I almost get a smell of pickles (thankfully, it doesn't last too long). Throughout the life of the fragrance, I smell vetiver most prominently, and orange blossom on top of that. There's some mild amber in it, but nothing to write home about. It faded quite quickly, and I can't think of any time I would reach for this particular scent. I hope everyone else has better luck with it! :) A word of warning: the liquid is SOOOO coloured when it sprays out! Be cautious, or it might stain your clothing.

I enjoy how it starts out, but pretty soon the orange blossom hides away from me and all that's left is amber and vetiver in a blend that smells a lot like something my grandma would have worn. I'll have to try layering it with something, but I don't think this is for me.

On me it’s mostly just amber and vetiver, I don’t really get the orange flower notes. Disappointing.

This is orange blossom overload! Orange blossom to me is tricky, it has to be handled right and mixed w/ other tropical florals. If it is the dominate floral it is just like smelling orange crush soda pop. This scent is just to sweet, and super gross.

Hermetica describes Megaflower as an "orange flower overdose", with orange flower absolute, an "orange flower molecule", and vetiver oil. This intensely orange-coloured liquid offers a creamy, lactonic impression of the orange flower, almost bordering on gourmand. The keyword here is "impression": if you're looking for a realistic orange flower, look away; this is not indolic in the slightest. A slight touch of powderiness keeps Megaflower from becoming too oily and fatty. The vetiver, which is barely discernible and only perceptible as a faint dryness in the drydown, just grounds the fragrance ever so slightly. Megaflower does have a slight medicinal edge to it that gives it a slight passing resemblance to the neroli note in Amouage's Reflection Man, but is otherwise rather one-dimensional. The fragrance is also rather linear - which Hermetica touts as the result of a breakthrough technology that "reveals immediately the heart of the fragrance" - and hence could get a little too cloying in hot weather. Spray lightly.

Nice orange blossom (and other florals) sweetened with Amber. It has somewhat of its own character, not totally unique yet deviate enough to make you wonder is this something new I am smelling. As a guy I don’t think I can pull it off. I can totally imagine it being longlasting (and cloying if over sprayed). This will leave a stain so better use it on skin!

Sweet orange blossoms, with soft clean vetiver. I do smell something more sweet than the regular amber, and the regular vetiver! It's like a body soothing cream with vetiver, and sweet orange blossoms. Maybe the amber is there but it's not that much detectable! This blend is creamy and very soothing, beside being delicate and addictive. Excellent.

I don’t like any of Hermeticas fragrances. I got their sample kit and all are so weak and watery, I can barely smell anything at all. It’s hands down the worst gimmicky perfume brand I’ve ever seen and I’ve smelt thousands. I’m about to throw all the rest of these crappy samples in the garbage . They’re useless. All have no smell.

Just got a bottle after smelling it in the Hermetica discovery kit. Longetivity is ok, I get about 6 hours. It’s very floral. Amber and Vetiver are feature prominently. This perfume is one of my favorites from the line beside Sandalsun, Amberbee and Rosefire.

A very pretty scent. I like it. A beautiful floral. I get the white florals and amber. There is some vetiver at the back but I don't find it soapy. So disappointed it is just an enduring skin scent on me

I'm getting a meek orange-citrus number here along with something base-resin. Nah...
