Blue Oud

As a lover of rich oriental fragrances and a long-time fan of traditional oud oils, I was keen to try Blue Oud by Ibrahim Al Qureshi—and I have to say, it does not disappoint. In the world of Western niche perfumery, I enjoy Montale’s Oud Cuir d’Arabie, Swiss Arabian’s Oud Al Ghutra, Montale’s Oud Edition, and Louis Vuitton’s Ombre Nomade. I also like oud offerings like The Moon (or The Night, whichever is the stinkier one) by Frédéric Malle. Blue Oud definitely sits in the same olfactory family as these. It also shares some similarities with Oud Maracujá by Maison Crivelli and Ombre Nomade, though with a slightly different character. While Ombre Nomade adds a sharp raspberry accent and Oud Maracujá leans into passionfruit, Blue Oud plays it more traditionally. It doesn’t have a bold, standout fruit or floral note. The blue lilies, mentioned in the note breakdown, are barely noticeable to my nose—more of a soft floral undertone typical of traditional Gulf masculine perfumery. I’ve tested it twice now, and both times I found it performed very well. Projection is solid, longevity is good, and it radiates with a presence you’d expect from this style of fragrance. It smells very much like something you’d encounter in the Arabian Peninsula—refined, smoky, woody, and masculine. I do detect the tobacco accord a bit. In terms of quality, I would say it surpasses Montale and is certainly a massive cut above many Louis Vuitton ON clones (such as the one from The Woods Collection and similar imitators). While it doesn’t reach the absolute heights of ultra-luxury extrait-level ouds, the ingredients are still of high quality—especially at this price point. If you’re into traditional Gulf-style ouds and appreciate the type of fragrance worn proudly in the Middle East, this is absolutely worth trying. To my nose, the closest comparisons would be Montale’s Oud Edition and Swiss Arabian’s Oud Al Ghutra.

I don't know how to describe the notes other than oud. It's unmistakable even as you smell the cap. I don't know what blue lilies smell like, but I guess it's the floral note I get even before applying it to my skin. There is also something spicy initially. The floral and spice notes evaporate quickly. On the skin it's more leathery, sweet, and animalic. The sweetness is not sugary or honey. I don't know about patchouli because I am a bit lost in the notes here. No smoke. It's opulent and masculine. Smells the strongest 3-5 hours after application. I had it on one wrist and behind each ear. Don't overdo it. Less is more: one or two sprays is enough. I don't think it changes much over time. There is a difference between the initial application for a few hours, but once the floral and spice fade away it becomes a sweet, animalic oud that fades slowly, but I don't think the notes change much after that. I only have 5mL right now but I'll get a bottle of it soon. Edit: The longevity is everlasting. I smelled it 24h above my wrists, very faintly still after showering, and it lasted on my shirt cuff for days. Edit 2: Also, I do not recommend this perfume for layering. It will always win. Edit 3: Actually I am getting a bit of plastic from this perfume. Warm fragrance. Winter and autumn.

This perfume is fantastic. Now I have rated this a great value bcz Ibrahim Al qurashi gives one of the BEST Offers! I bought it for only 90 Aed on offer. The longetivity is crazy! It lasts for a week on your cloths, even if I wash my cloths and Then do the iron, the smell comes like a blast. Now this perfume does smell like ombre nomad but much darker and more leathery. Its like you remove raspberry and replace it with blue Lillies. Its inky blue animalic oud, not just oud but really really dark oud. Now I would say its absolutely not blind buy safe. If you don't really like strong oud perfumes, then its better to avoid it cuz its hell strong oud perfume. Now I could say this perfume its not wearable at any work or office, its better to wear at places like masjid, mall or Majlis's, places where which are like open areas. Absolutely Monster!!

I’ve had this fragrance sitting for a year and today’s my first time wearing it and guys HOLY SHIT is it strong im usually a chronic oversprayer but i did 4 sprays today and got an insane headache. I have a lot of “beastmode” fragrances and this might just be the strongest out of them all! This smells amazing just be careful on the trigger and don’t be as stupid as me and spray it when its 25° outside... Longevity is over 24 hours in my experience and my skin runs really hot so i have issues with fragrances lasting on my skin and as for projection it just keeps going and going easily for 5-6 hours. Absolutely not for the faint of heart

I own both this and Ombré Nomad and I will say I prefer this. It has a stronger and an inker oud and replaces the rose with blue lilies which slightly softens the scent. I also pick up a very slight bukhoor note similar to that in ‘Black diamond incense’ by the same brand, however it’s in the background. This could be from the combination of tobacco and leather I’m not sure. On skin this gives me 12 hours. I sprayed it on a hoodie over a week ago and the scent filled my entire room for 3 days and it still smells like I just sprayed it on the hoodie.

Blue Oud by Ibraheem Al Qurashi is not your typical oud perfume it’s refined, smooth, and dangerously addictive. Blue Oud is luxury in a bottle. It blends Middle Eastern richness with modern versatility, making it wearable for someone who wants oud without going too traditional or too heavy. Major beast mode in my collection , 4-5 sprays is more than enough

Potent leather-patchouli-sweet amber fragrance. Almost a darker ombré Nomade and closer to Nouveau Monde but with better performance. Lillies at the top with oud balance out the animalics. This is for a mature nose and not blind but safe. Can be polarising and do not recommend wearing it in the office. Also be careful with the number of sprays...people around you may react. If you love profiles like LV Ombré Nomade or Noveau Monde, Nishane Mana would enjoy this value for money potent option. Shukran Habibi!

I am really impressed with this one. It offers a lot for its price, very well blended with leather, oud and incense. There is a very nice blue ink note that reminds me of Amouage rose incense (but here it is more pronounced) The scent is dark and strong, definitely masculine and more suitable for colder months. Not for the faint heart through - could be perceived a bit animalic by some inexperienced noses but it is an amazing scent

If Ombre Nomade is what bosses wear, their boss wears Blue Oud. None of the raspberry etc. Imagine breaking a ballpoint pen in your pocket and mixing it with high quality oud. Performance is stupid. Can't imagine a situation in a western country where people can pull this off. However, in the middle east where people actually enjoy perfume this DNA is a staple. Do not blind buy, unless you actually enjoy perfume

Been wanting this bad boy since a long time and the hype was really big. Let me tell you this a bazoookaaa ... Bang with the first spray. Oud strikes in your nostrils and you are like ahh this is normal oud and then blue lillies slaps you big time... That combines to give it a very very unique versatile smell...banger. Great performance. Definitely compliment getter.

Guys this perfume is loud. If you want to smell like royalty and make a statement wear this. Typically I’m an oversprayer but you do not need more than 4 sprays at the absolute max! Definitely has ombré nomade vibes but honestly more potent and a good twist. Good value for the money!

Beautiful oud and lavender scent. this is basically 1:1 of ombre nomade without the raspberry note for 1/4th of the price and NUCLEAR performance. when i say nuclear, i am not joking. spray this too much and you're a walking bioweapon who smells like a Arabian prince.

The Qurashi brothers (Ibrahim & Abdul Sammad) are just different. Blue Oud is on another level. Words cant explain how much I love this fragrance. Dark, Oudy, Leathery, and Elegant. Silage and Longevity is insane. Ombre Nomade and Oud Maracuja should take a bow.

it’s fair to say most of the people with negative reviews should stick to designers because if you have a extensive collection and your into niche perfumery this is a masterpiece especially in dry down and air. How often do you even see blue lilies in perfume?

In one word it's a winter beast.

Deep, smoky, dark and moody. I’ve never smelt anything like this before and I really like it. I’m definitely getting florals, patchouli, leather and a good dose of very complex and smoky Oud. It smells a bit like burning incense to my nose, but I’m a noob when it comes to Arabian scents. It is extremely strong and could be headache inducing for some. First impressions are very good and I’m happy with my purchase although I’m not sure I’ve got the stones to wear this in public, it’s very exotic and would definitely stand out! Updated: I’ve had it on for a few hours and it’s still creating a strong bubble. It smells a bit dirty on the skin but in the air it smells heavenly. I can’t stop wafting my wrists!

Got it from Dubai, in Nov'24 for around 50 USD one thing for Sure ITS NOT FOR BLIND BUY... Opening is weird can't describe notes but it smells like ink, its very strong. Dry down is sweet and pleasent oud. Do not overspray you may clog people around you... Once I sprayed it on shirt and kept it in closet after use of couple of hours. When I took it out after 2-3 weeks I could still smell it. Sometimes you can smell it mildly on cloth even after washing and drying in washing machine. This perfume people like a lot or hate it, there is no middle ground.

Don’t even think of blind buying this!!! Cuz i did 😭 At first, This thing smells like that one Insect that farts after being bothered by a predator. After some time When you let it settle you either get used to it or it really becomes a bit less inky and more woody, I don’t know! 🤷♂️. Masculine fragrance and NOT BLIND BUY SAFE! because i liked it a bit and I don’t think everyone will like it.

This is a beast by ibraheem al qureshi, it has Extremely Heavy Projection and lasts till you don't wash your clothes, you need to be very careful with sprays this perfume can not be over-sprayed or you will choke yourself and people around you.

Did they replace the cap? On the new bottle I got it's no longer heavy and feels like plastic.

I bought so many decants and along with those this was one of them. First spray:- Literally hated it, it was absolutely bad and too much animalic. I sprayed on my wrist and instantly regretted it so I washed my hand 3 times bt this thing didn't come off.. it projected all night long 😑 After few weeks, I tried it again. It became better bt the leathery note was still annoying to my nose... Some of my friends, Brother who lived in Middle East likes it very much

screechy synthetic Oud-Bakhour opening, it gets better when the opening tames down going into mids, however, the dry down on this 4+ hrs later becomes horrible, very disgusting, smells like ba**s and cloys into the skin for 24+ hours, really bad! it destroys the whole scent.

Definitely not worth the hype. Most of the perfumes from IBRAQ are similar and has tobacco notes

Good fragrance that smells like LV ombre nomade

Extremely strong and polarising. I personally hate it, bought a sample and I wont even finish that and I say this as someone who doesnt like sweet scents and appreciates stronger/deeper scents. It smells like straight fucking petrol with leather, tobacco and a side of depression. Even if you do enjoy these types of scents prepare to be repelling to a good number of people who smell you. It projects an insane amount even in cold weather. Honestly I am scrolling through some of the comments calling this a 'compliment getter' in utter confusion wondering if they are bots or they mistake scorn for a compliment.

Well tbh this feels rubbery and synthetic to me. I have smelled many leather and also oud frags like oud wood, ombre leather, tuscan leather, and their dupes like opulence leather, rare carbon, etc. this one is not elegant to my nose.i also detect saffron/safraline that is not mentioned in the notes.

Synthetic Oud , not good smell , way overpriced , very long lasting, it is exactly the same as FOGG Intense Oud and also same longevity , i have both , not recommended except if its price is 15$

This is extremely pungent and overbearing, I had to throw my sample away and wash my skin. Not my cup of tea unfortunately, but for what it was it super strong. Not wearable in any heat imo.

Absolutely agree with @Lookin@Scents Smells like the smoke of burnt petrol grease’s Depression weapon It evokes the feeling of standing in front of a burning gas station and the fire is all over the place while people is screaming and trying to save their lives Really terrifying

I'm trying to think of how best to describe this. Dark forest vibes meet blue florals dipped in petrol? Hmm. This is a dark/masculine masterpiece that surrounds you like a cloud and is straight up nuclear beast mode for real. Besides that you're getting 100mls for under $100 so yeah, worth it for all you fellow performance heads out there 🤙🏻 the sillage is room filling and my skin usually drinks up fragrance but it took forever for this to become a skin scent. Loud, bold, dark, and woody as all fucksies. The opening is a blast of dry foresty wood paired with these gorgeous blue lilies that give it balance, but the wood dominates the florals. Leather and patchouli come together and read to my nose as a faint petrol-like smell just underneath the woods. I'm also getting dry amber-sh tobacco in the same vein of Laudano Nero by Tiziana Terenzi and becomes more prominent after 30 mins, still dominated by the wood accord that won't let go.... it's here to stay from opening til the end so just enjoy the ride. People will prob just register this as dark forest as you walk by. Middle Eastern brands are known to dupe frags but this smells completely original and very much it's own thing + it's very niche so no one else around will smell like this. Fyi .....these woods aren't pine or spruce smelling and there's no green or earthyness here, nor is it smokey the bear. Imagine entering a forest with no leaves while sniffing unsmoked pipe tobacco and slowly approaching a small lily patch. You're wearing a leather overcoat that's been doused with diesel fuel but in the absolute BEST possible way. Goated 4 🧬

Ombre nomade alternative? No, not even close. Sure it has leather, oud and a type of sweetness or rather floral but it's no nomade... Just saying. I'm hating on this? Hell no, this is still one of my favourite fragrances. Guys listen, it's boring and plain and does one thing but it does that one thing really well. Tobacco & Leather, sprinkle of amber. Loud, long lasting but boring. It's lovely comes from it's power. It just hangs on to you, for hours and hours and hours. It doesn't have that freshness that you get in ombre nomade not that addictive element. I purchased it thinking it could be an alternative, scent profile ombre nomade blows this out the water as that's a masterpiece piece but if I was told it was never trying to be ombre nomade, it is it's own beast I'd be more happy & that's how I treat it. This was my first ibrahim Al Qurayshi fragrance & I was so impress I went with neebs 2nd suggestion and got blueberry musk (which is just like club de nuit imperial white bottle, there's a hidden litchee not I reckon) now I've ordered french tobbaco as I got a sample. It's true how it's described, lemon grass, lemon grass lemon grass & then fresh soap. Strangely and annoying addictive. You do smell clean and in the heat it's probably the best type of scent so insha'Allah 200mls on its way but after getting many Ahmed Al Maghribi's higher tier perfumes, Ibrahim Al Qurayshi was the natural high tier level progression & Abdul samad seems to be a higher tier than that. I'm very close to boss level stuff I feel lol
