Cobalt

I bought a discovery set from Intelligent during their Black Friday sale which came with all 10 of their fragrances... and I just want to start by saying I was VERY impressed by the presentation of their discovery set box. It was literally the nicest sample set presentation ive ever seen. Better than Creed's, PDM's, Inito's and a few others that I've purchased over the years. I didn't think that a smaller, kind of unknown company like this would be able to create something that could stand next to some of the best frag house's presentations. Don't worry, I'll get to reviewing Cobalt here in a second... The whole reason I decided to give the discovery set a shot was because of a guy named Derek from Moreplatesmoredates on Youtube. I've watched his content now for like the last 7 years and have learned sooo much from this guy (mainly about health, fitness, biochemistry and other things) but also fragrances. And if you know anything about this guy, it's that he is an absolute genius and researches the hell out of everything he takes an interest to in order to be as knowledgeable as possible on the subject. He owns Gorilla Mind which is one of the best supplement companies on the market with products that just WORK and are super effective. I've bought so much of their stuff over the years and have always been a huge fan. So when I found out that Derek also had a company called INTELLIGENT that made hair loss products and male grooming products, I started using those products too and really liked most of everything I tried. Somehow I was always a little adverse to trying the fragrances though. It seemed kinda out of place, and I guess I just kind of doubted that they would be high quality fragrances that I would actually wear. So when Black Friday came around, I figured I would give them a shot and try out the discovery set to see what they were all about. Also the discovery set was only about $50 and it came with a coupon for $50 to put towards the purchase of any 100ml bottle. So I figured I am basically getting the discovery set for free at that point. I know not technically... but it still felt like a great deal. Girl math... or whatever. So after trying all 10 of the fragrances I pretty much loved every single one of them, immediately. I was blown away by how long every single one of them lasted on me, but I guess that's to be expected from extrait de parfum concentrations. I was initially going to just buy Cobalt, but I also really wanted Gold, H2O, Hydrogen, and Carbon. They had their entire collection for sale during Black Friday for an insane deal that I couldn't pass up, + I had the $50 coupon, so I figured "screw it I'll just get all of them!" I really wanted to have the whole collection to proudly display as well...cause I'm like that lol. So as far as Cobalt goes, it is honestly INSANE how many compliments I've gotten over the last 2 weeks of wearing this over the holidays. I used to think that the number of compliments I got wearing my 16M01 Aventus was wild... Well that pales in comparison to how people reacted to me wearing Cobalt. I think it's because it has this comforting nostalgic vibe of the early 2000's Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce while also smelling more mature and put-together and most importantly, modern. It seems like it's more of a warmer weather leaning fragrance, but I wore it in about 60 degree Fahrenheit weather (I live in the desert) and it was perfect. For me, it's a clean citrusy opening with a slight hint of dryer sheets. Once it settles it just a very nice, relaxed musky and kind of woody aroma that brings people closer and makes people want to be around you to keep smelling you. It's an addictive smell that I really don't think you can overspray. It's not sharp or annoying at all, even when I do 10+ sprays. I get about 6hours of a solid 6ft projection, decent sillage, and then stays close to the skin for the rest of the day. It basically performs as good as LV's Imagination does for me, except I get more and better reactions from this. I really hope they never stop making this cause I have already put a decent dent in this thing in just the last few weeks. Really stoked to see how the other fragrances do in similar situations, because I would say the other ones I mentioned above are as good as this and may actually turn out to be better as the seasons change. Guess we'll see. Solid fragrance though and solid company all the way. 9.5/10

The opening is very sharp and lemon heavy reminding me of a black ice car air freshener then fades to a peppery metallic blue shower gel Abercrombie and Fitch fierce. The drydown starts to smell a tad like santal 33 because of the heavy amounts of sandalwood and cardamom mixed with fierce dna. I would skip everything else from this overpriced clone house and just buy intelligent Gold and Cobalt. H20 is nice but I own Davidoff coolwater wave which are both cloning invictus aqua.

Apart from the opening being very highlighter / acidic almost vinegar.. like sour. That dies down in about 5 mins. It transforms into something similar to to AF Fierce, PDM Percival and kaaf but with a twist. It drys down into this almost mahogany wood blue inky shower gel smell. Its strong as hell, like 5 sprays max Id wear this in a alot of situations, the amount you spray really dictates the setting you can wear it in. Very versatile after it dries down
