Isabey La Route d'Emeraude

Isabey La Route D'Emeraude. This was a blind buy for me a few years ago. I decided to treat myself to a perfume for my birthday. I had never heard of Isabey. I had never tried it before. I ordered it online from a department store based on the name of the fragrance. I won't say it was love at first sniff. I was very new to the fragrance community, and honestly, I think I just shrugged my shoulders and put it on my perfume tray and dabbed some on without thinking. My bottle is almost finished. Years later and wiser I started to track my perfumes and record my impressions. I'm wearing this perfume today on a moderately cold afternoon in early March. Perfumes do not last on me very well. This one actually projects. It's not beast mode, but I can definitely catch the fragrance as I move around. I don't have to glue my hand or wrist to my nose to smell it. I don't really pick up the rose. I wish I could. But I do smell the jasmine and the cinnamon. It's all well blended so nothing really jumps out at me. This is an elegant fragrance. I'm working at my computer at home. But I could wear this anywhere and probably anytime. This is very subtle but likeable. I don't know that this a compliment getter. That said the person who comes in close to you or hugs you, will appreciate the nice smell whether they say something or not. There's nothing off-putting about this fragrance. If I were teaching I would feel comfortable wearing this fragrance or if I had to attend a funeral or sombre occasion I might select this. While the ingredients and notes suggest an oriental/exotic fragrance, it is still very restrained -- almost conservative. This might be the wild scent for the uptight and serious librarian or shut in computer nerd. For everyone else it's a very nice fragrance that doesn't smell like anything else. It's unique in a very quiet way. I have 30ml bottle. I would repurchase without hesitation.

How do I describe La Route d'Emeraude? There's a simplicity to it that can be deceiving. For me, the way it's blended is masterful. It strikes a balance between fresh plainness and indolic depth and in that tension is where Isabey's jasmine truly shines. It opens light, bright and sweet, with a touch of spring rose. My nose doesn't pick up on cinnamon as a separate note, it mostly adds warmth to the opening before the jasmine sambac fully kicks in. And as for the star of the show, jasmine: it walks that tight rope between fresh and overripe, sweet and in full bloom yet not so indolic that it would turn skanky. I would say that jasmine is responsible for the vast majority of the floral notes in La Route. Tuberose is also here, albeit in the background, contributing to that narcotic, nectary sweetness while orange blossom adds even more brightness. Despite their ripeness and sweetness, they all somehow manage to feel more fresh than jammy. The base is lovely and understated, a deep amber that isn't too sweet or too vanilla, offering just enough roundness to make the while florals pop. On my skin, it offers an intimate to moderate sillage and stays on for up to 8 hours. It works in warm weather just as well as in cold. You can easily wear it as a daily scent or on special occasions. It's uplifting and classy. And using that gorgeous bottle is like misting yourself in sunshine. This perfume confirmed that jasmine is my favourite floral note. I had been in the midst of searching for a heavy indolic beauty, but when La Route d'Emeraude settled on my skin, it stole my heart in a way that few others have so far. Over the following weeks I have sneaked little half sprays of it under my work clothes on a number of days and wore it at home on the weekends repeatedly. I just couldn't stop, even with a dozen samples waiting to be tried.

Out of all the perfumes I've tried in the coffret, this turned out to be my favorite. I didn't think it would be considering that I like the note profiles of some of the others more. But this has turned out to be a love and one that I will replace with a bottle after this 10ml. is finished. It is a beautiful jasmine forward floral that's touched with a little sweetness and vanilla. The opening is a little unusual. I never expected to smell rose so outright, outside of a soliflore, in the opening of what I thought was supposed to be a primarily white floral perfume. It is tinged citrus from the bergamot and with a very subtle spiciness thanks to the cinnamon, which is so well blended here that it doesn't read like an outright spice but does give the opening of this fragrance an oriental slant. The tuberose then enters the picture and is beautifully balanced here, never overshadowing the jasmine but adding voluptuous fullness and rich depth to this scent. Sweet, warm, bottom notes of amber and vanilla round this fragrance out, adding an accord that is just luscious, and the benzoin and musk a powdery fluffiness. I wish I was picking up incense which some have mentioned, but I am not. That doesn't detract from how lovely I think this scent is. It really is a beautiful perfume and a standout in the white floral, jasmine dominant genre.

What a pretty scent. I have a great deal of pleasure wearing and testing such florals in spring! Will I be investing in a bottle at this price point? No. That said, I truly enjoy the fresh bergamot (a favorite note of mine) in the opening. The heart of white florals pleases. The dry down, however, is just perfect. The perfect balance of creamy, powdery, fuzzy vanilla/musk and a lingering goodness from tuberose..... Thoughts: I received not one but TWO unsolicited complements while wearing this floral winner. I personally have more chemistry with other florals and florientals, such as Organza, Nebras, and Classique. That said, the dry down here is beautiful (if simple) and reminds me strikingly of something that D&G does in its best classics. If you had asked me blinded what I was smelling in the base, I might have guessed a top notch, new 'The One' flanker! I would love to see this kind of quality as the dominant rule, rather than the exception, in designer brand releases. It used to be a far more prevalent norm in mainstream perfumery, as noted by the vintages to which this niche is compared. What if houses like Gucci released THIS type of glorious bouquet.... instead of another watered-down floral? We can always dream. Sometimes miracles DO happen! <3

Wow! This is a stunning jasmine perfume. One of the best jasmine perfumes I have ever smelled. There is jasmine sambac and jasmine grandiflorum represented here and represented well. Green, fresh, clean newly bloomed jasmine, acres and acres of jasmine. Fresh bergamot and rose oil that is touched w/ a zing of cinnamon to start but then in the heart, oh the heart of this perfume is nothing but jasmine perfection. A slight vanilla in the dry down adds just a touch of sweetness to a very floral jasmine perfume. La Route d' Emeraude is a gorgeous well-crafted and stunning perfume. Elegant, very upscale and womanly. Everything that perfumery should be and what I wish more niche fragrances aimed for. Beautiful. Edit:7/10/22 My husband likes this which is surprising since he isn't a big fan of jasmine. I may have to put this on my want shelf. It is really beautiful. I own Patou Joy and that is a beautiful jasmine as well but that is more indolic and has a lot of May rose. I also own Beauty by Calvin Klein which is a lovely jasmine w/ a cedar and ambrette musk and I like it but the performance w/ that one isn't the best. Emeraude is brighter and cleaner jasmine w/ a slight powdery dry down.

At first this reminded me strongly of Parfums de Marly's Safanad, since both are very sweet with orange blossom dominating. But when I tried a side-by-side test, Route d'Emeraude was the classier, more elegant one. Next to it, Safanad, while lovely, smelled like something for a much younger woman, with its strong vanilla and pear notes. I find I prefer Route, which is more complex, deep, and mature. I wouldn't mind a little bit of oakmoss or vetiver to temper the sweetness just a tad, but as it is, this is a gorgeous, lush fragrance that I'm delighted to have found. Edited to add: I find myself reaching for Route all the time now. It's comforting enough for bedtime but makes me feel elegant, feminine, and delicious during the day. It reminds me of older classic fragrances in the way it is so opulent and lush. I'm so delighted to have found this. I've been looking for a new signature scent for years now, and this is the best candidate I've found after a ton of sampling.

Divine! Sophisticated and understated ! I don’t get overpowering or loud with this fragrance . It’s another soft scent similar to Fleur Nocturne and Gardenia by Isabey , which I have just bought . I wished I waited cause this one is my favourite ( and my partner’s) . Isabey Gardenia is powdery , FN is fruity and La Route is woodier to me . And based on its notes I would of thought I disliked this the most with its cinnamon and Amber base notes . ( not a spice fan) All scents are close to the skin and lasts forever though silage isn’t that great . I’m a believer that you wear the perfume for yourself so I prefer less attention seeking fragrances . I love the top notes with the bergamot and a touch of rose I just wish it stayed on a bit longer . Overall , an internal debate to get a bottle of La Route and make my set a trio😍 Update : couldn’t help myself and bought a bottle .

Sampled this today and yesterday. It is a beautiful jasmine, musky fragrance, and I definitely get the cinnamon as well. I have traveled to Thailand and Cambodia, and this fragrance somehow took me back to Cambodia (but without being too incense-y). I was disappointed, however, that it did not last that long on me. I tried it yesterday evening after I got home, and it lasted about 3 hours. I wore it again this morning to church and it disappeared almost immediately when I started sweating during our lunch-time cookout. I thought maybe the sweat would make it stronger, since that happens for me with a lot of my Creed fragrances. But sadly, it was gone again today after about 3 hours. This fragrance, although it did not "wow" me, is beautiful to smell and masterfully blended. If it had been stronger and longer lasting on me, I may have considered a full bottle purchase.

It is a beautiful scent. White flowers, spice and vanilla. No screechy, heavy white flowers notes. The tuberose, jasmine and orange flower have been blended and softened by the vanilla and spice. There are a lot of similar scents in the department stores but this smells particularly French and refined. It's smells natural and not too sweet. I can't imagine anyone not liking this beauty. Very feminine and classy. A great scent for a bride. This beauty has a high price tag and thankfully I have other similar florals in my collection. A shame the longevity and sillage only just about make average.

This is one of the best white florals I own. In fact when I put it on again tonight, I realized I would give up almost every white flower perfume and keep this one if I had to. This is the epitome of sensual, full, lush, exotic and just damn sexy. It's blended impeccably and flawlessly and you only need a little bit. I see this more for nighttime and cooler weather, but I don't really care as I'm wearing it on a warm summer night while sitting under a fan and enjoying the jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom wafts. *Chef's Kiss*

This is glorious, fresh and wet and floral and rich, it's like a garden at night, a dream of dew and fresh flowers and an opulent silk gown staring up at a midnight blue sky filled with glittering stars. It is a bubble bath in a claw foot tub in an old and elegant house. It is glorious night. I'm so in love.

This is stunning and elegant - easily one of my favorite perfumes.

Isabey La Route d'Emeraude is one of those perfumes that go far ahead of their notes on the paper. This is floral perfume. Yes. And it has jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom...like thousands out there. But This one is not even remotely close to those thousands or millions white florals we can see on every corner. The opening is straight up floral, and who doesn't give it another chance might stay disappointed. However, on the skin this beauty unwinds, reveals and starts the magic dance, like not many I know. I am a sucker for oriental notes: give me musk and amber, benzoin, vanilla and some spices like cinnamon, and I'm yours (maybe that's also why I feel this one closer to my heart). Now, add on top of that beautiful, niche quality jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom and the queen rose, and you have a masterpiece, an oriental floral perfume, that is lush, and creamy, and seductive, a bit unusual, heady yet intimate (like someone said in their comment). Animalic? Definitely. But not in civet or skanky kind a way, but bodily, femme, maternal. Yes, there is something utterly feminine and maternal. Beautiful. I miss that "human" moment in modern perfumes, specially niche. Performance is amazing. 6-7 hours after my application I still have the same sillage like when first applied. It is one of those rare perfumes I can smell all the time, non stop (not just getting the whiffs) throughout the day and not that it doesn't bother me, but I keep falling in love more and more. This hidden gem has yet to find its way to its audience. I am sure it deserves to have a cult status one day. It is that good.

Elegant jasmin-centric white floral. This opens with a lush, fresh bergamot-rose accord that is just lovely. Jasmine emerges after a few minutes, and it's weighted more towards the clean/greener Sambac. I love Jasmine and this is a wonderful version. There is something here that gives the floral heart an almost herbal, grassy, lemony tint, perhaps it's some well-behaved indoles + neroli or bergamot? It reminds me of linden. Whatever it is, it's a really appealing way to lift and energize the jasmine heart. After an hour or so the lemony tint disappears and the rounded, musky-amber base comes out. There is a slight touch of powder in the base, and on me the musk is more prominent than the amber. My experience of the musk was similar to the reivewer that mentioned feminine, maternal skin. This is my least favorite part of the scent, and may be a deal-breaker. It's elegant and beautifully blended like the rest of the scent, but just isn't a fit for me. I got a sample set of Isabey perfumes, and found them to be elegant, well-blended diaphanous florals. I've heard Isabey's frags described as sheer, and I agree. This might be a great house to explore if you feel like you like white florals but find they sometimes shout a bit too much.

Isabey La Route d'Emeraude by Isabey is an example of mid-price range under hyped niche perfumery. La Route has a very classic, but not vintage feel--it smells like it will never go out of style and hold up as trends come and go. This fruity-floral makes me think of a niche, high quality version of the modern L'Interdit. The fruity notes are very bright and forward, almost like sweet-tart candy, balancing the white florals, which are not screechy. Sometimes the white florals morph into rose for me, but then they transform back into jasmine and orange blossom.

Sadly, it's not a nice perfume on my skin. Too modern, loud and sweet. Today I tested it for the first time, I'll give it a try tomorrow again, but this is my first impression, just not my cup of tea. Later edit: I tested it again today, in a much colder weather than first time and it's absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful white flowers rounded by a creamy vanilla and Amber, so elegant and lovely. I can't believe it's the same perfume I tested before! I'm so happy I re-tested it.

My second favorite of the variation set. Heady, atmospheric, dreamy and airy, sweet white floral where jasmine dominates. The jasmine is not indolic, it's even fresh, but surrounded by heavy notes which give the jasmine some fullness of body. Not too heavy, not like Alien-heavy. Very sensual and truly smells like an exotic night in the yard of a palace, full of blooms, where you are surrounded by the sound of cicadas, soft lights and the warmth of flowing natural air.

An absolutely beautiful perfume in the sample vial. After opening the vial and sniffing, I rushed to try this immediately. Sadly, it does not perform well on my skin. All I smell is weak jasmine. White florals do not play well with my chemistry, so don't let this review stop you from trying what has the potential to be an absolutely gorgeous fragrance. If it smelled the same way on me as it did it in vial, it would have been a full bottle purchase.

This is a special floriental in a "modern" -olfactory way. Jasmin in the center surrounded by bergamot, cinnamon and rose with tuberose, amber, vanilla in the background. Interestingly, I find it soft and strong at the same time, exactly like the woman who should wear this beauty :) Very feminine and perfect for an elegant, strong-willed lady. Lovely, especially for middle-aged women (I would say 30+).

At first I sort of liked this perfume and it reminded me somewhat of Organza by Givenchy, except that this is spicier with the cinnamon opening and the amber in the base. It's also a vanillic white floral at the beginning, much like Organza. One can smell both the jasmine and the tuberose, with a very small hint of orange blossom that gives it that zing. I didn't smell any rose though and this perfume has none of that mushroomy gardenia or any of that nutmeg, walnut and mace nuttiness that I love in Organza. But as the perfume dried down, it just smelt like playdough to my nose and I found it quite bizarre. La Route d'Emeraude also became very musky and powdery in a slightly unpleasant way and there was something that was incredibly synthetic during this stage. It made me think of being a child again, playing with those figures where you pushed playdough through the holes in their heads to give them hair. The sillage was quite strong and the longevity of this perfume on my skin was an average 5 hours. You don't really get your value for money for this fragrance based on its longevity and what it smells like. It's a shame with how stunning the pink and gold bottle is though and the lovely floral jacquard design etched onto it. This was by far the worst of the three Isabey perfumes I bought small samples of on the LKNU website, the two others being Gardénia and Fleur Nocturne, which I loved! LKNU is based in Melbourne and they shipped these samples to me in Brisbane. La Route d'Emeraude by Isabey wasn't bad, but I find this perfume incredibly average at best. This is why I can't give it more than a 5/10 for it honestly. I don't think I could recommend it to anyone.

I don't know where it goes wrong for me as I like all of the notes, but it is just plain and boring to me. It still is nice and may work beautifully on someone else.

I’m going to echo the review directly below mine. Overall La Route d'Emeraude is too strong with the orange blossom note overpowering the composition in summer weather. Maybe it’s meant to be a fall/winter only scent? I’m not getting any of the scent nuances reported by others—this is linear. La Route d'Emeraude is a big, loud, powerful white floral. I’ll tuck it away and try again in a few months.

Smells unpleasantly vintage and just this side of the hotly debated 'grandma' smell (actually this is veering into great-grandma territory for me lol). Not without merit as a classic style of white florals, but just not in my wheelhouse at all. I have to learn to stay far away from orange blossom even if the other notes look promising...

Oh, this is not working well on me at all. I love all of the notes, and had really high hopes, but I'm just getting... I can't say exactly, but the smell is reminding me of a baby's room, stuffy in the late afternoon because no one's gotten around to opening the window. Musky, stuffy, diapered baby. Stupid uncooperative body chemistry!

The first hour R d'E reminded me a lot of Nicholais Eau d'Ete, they have in common the combination of jasmine, cinnamon and fresh bergamot. A modern variation on the white-floral theme, feels contemporary. Later, a vanilla becomes prominent on my skin as Route d'Emaraude settles to a cuddly sweetish skinscent. It stays close to my skin, very close, unfortunately it feels a little too subtle when combined with my chemistry (even though I applied generously). However subtle or soft: the notes feel genuine, exclusive, and I can imagine someone else falling for this scent. For me Panouage made Gardenia, wich I love, so fair enough...

I like a mixture of female and male biased fragrances. It is all to easy to say all fragrances are "Unisex" and sure they were at one time in history. However, with this fragrance, I would normally assume it appealing more to females. Not that anything I have just said should stop us guys using this. Certainly has not stopped me! I was surprised how delicate and refined the balance of this fragrance is. I think is very reasonable to say house of Isabey are renown for the uniqueness coupled with their quality and outstanding compositions. Amazingly high quality for not a lot of money. A lovely discovery when I least expected it.

I managed to get a half full bottle on ebay. Upon first spray I knew I've smelled it somewhere before. The opening notes are more floral and sweet then fruity on me, but as it developed it became clear what I had in mind.The classic Anne Klein with its "howling civet", which I have as well but don't reach for very often. It is not an exact copy, but when the top notes fade it becomes very very close. For those who miss AK it might be an option worth exploring, although not a cheap one. Also La Route doesn't change as much as AK in its passage through time.

I own a lot of perfume and this is one of the prettiest in one of the prettiest bottles. It is put together so well.. is solidly feminine.. allows the jasmin to shine without a glare. It sits simply and daintily on the skin. It harkens back to a time when a lady wanted to scent herself but not drown the room with her perfume. Rose oil was a good choice as was the orange blossom which adds a pleasing citrus without stealing the show from the others florals(including a hint of tuberose). Sweet, alluring, delicate.. you should try this. ✨

There is nothing I can add to the best of the reviews of this fragrance. I came here to give a heads up to lovers of the original Giorgio Beverly Hills and also Design. The fragrances before they were reformulated. La Route d'Emeraude is like a tribute to the best of those fragrances, maybe with the tiniest update. The blend is beautiful and there are no cheap smelling ingredients. It’s gorgeous and stays bright.

I am no stranger to Isabey's delicious and scentful collections. I used to wear the gardenia by Isabey Panouge and that sparked compliments everywhere I went. In the subway stations when I used to live in DC had many come and ask what scent I was wearing. I will receive it within the next couple of days and will update the findings of this anticipated arrival and if it was worth the fb price of $170 from E -bay.

stunning jasmine fragrance with high quality and great long lasting power.but looks at the price,I hate to tell this,but ain't it too pricy?!I mean there are so many cheaper jasmine perfumes that even if you have to spray twice,they would cost you cheaper than this. there's no doubt that it's a very good fragrance,but personally I save my money for something more complicated.

I’ve come back to this perfume a few times over the years. I wanted to love La Route d’Emeraude and was even ready to blind buy but I’m glad I didn’t. There’s nothing wrong with this fragrance but it’s a noncommittal 90’s powdery floral blend, a little musky, and...just ok? It doesn’t smell bad but it doesn’t pull at my heartstrings either. The bottle is stunning.

Ok this starts out very similar to Moon Bloom. Like, almost identical. I get straight soapy tuberose. But the tuberose kind of fades into almost a fig newton sweetness. Even though fig is not listed in the notes it's all I'm getting at this mid stage-- weird stuff with my body chemistry. In dry down stage I get straight vanilla.

This is a clean powdery floral scent with some of the same dna as Isabey Prends Moi. Salty buttery popcorn, florals, cosmetic, bubblegum. The dry down reminds me of a light floral lotion my mom would wear. All isabey samples have good projection & longevity. I enjoyed my sample set & I ended up buying a bottle of Lys Noir.

The opening is fabulous, with sweet flowers and sour gummys with a hint of green, a bit zingy but in tune with the rumble. The drydown is very creamy and sweet, losing its initial spontaneity and many of its flowers, becoming a more amber and less original scent. It's still pleasant on my skin, though.

I find it incredibly similar to SL Fleurs d'Oranger. This also had a loooot af orange blossom. And tuberose. Info not much useful, as they have similar prices (and same mega-projection) I realize. Still, if you have one, no need to get the other. This has a nicer bottle. :)

I've just received my fb purchase its similar to Diva and Isabey Panouge. Wow Certainly creamy and mature fragrance not for tweens. Its a version of the two perfumes mixed together its okay thought would get a fragrance of surprise especially on my birthday! Not

A really high quality, expensive smelling jasmine, that appears almost a soliflore. It feels vintage but it is definitely more modern than for example Joy. Not as indolic.

A solid, classic Jasmine and orange blossom perfume with incredible sillage. Perfect for hot weather. It screams class!

Sensuous, like a lingering kiss on sun-warmed skin. A very personal and intimate fragrance.
