Bogart Story Red

I am a huge fan of Jacques Bogart fragrances, as they are always powerhouse masculine scents that last forever at a price that's so cheap its ridiculous. I picked up 'Red Story' and this one is a sexy, sweet, dark masterpiece, very similar to Dunhill - 'Desire', Joop 'Homme', Montblanc 'Individuel' and Nikos 'Sculpture Homme'. The opening is a sweet, spicy dose of berries with a dark musky undertone that immediately screams 'date night'. Its strong, loud and sexy. It's the guy at the bar or nightclub who is obviously there to pick up a woman, and has absolutely no shame in it. That's what this smells like. The base comes in around four hours and the result is a sweet, somewhat fruity, musky smell, with a dark and captivating undertone that lasts most of the day. This is one of the more moderate projecting Bogart scents, but don't get it twisted. Its STRONG, heavy, and lasts a full 8-10+ hours on skin and several days to weeks on clothes. Projection was about 1-3 feet for the first four hours, but this lasts a very long time and you'll catch whiffs for hours and hours until it dies down. Longevity with 5-7 sprays (neck, chest, shoulders, forearms) was 8-10+ hours, and I smelled it on my coat and sweater for a week straight with no softening. If sprayed on clothes, it stays on until you wash them. Projection is very good, but not as powerful as the other Bogart scents such the One Man Show and Silver Scent lines. But again, this is stronger than 95% of the designer and niche scents being released today, so don't for a second think this is weak. Instead of the typical nuclear Bogart performance, this is simply excellent performance. This is ideal for masculine alpha men over the age of 35+, who say what they want and do what they want and don't apologize for it. It's a strong and deeply sensual date night scent that is direct and forward, just like the man who should be wearing it. Highly recommended.

Cologne of contradictions, intense and seductive aroma, very consistent with the red color of its bottle! The output is exotic enough to be strange. The mixture of lavender and peppermint with cardamom, results in a medicinal and almost alcoholic aroma. They must have used the cardamom oil from the Amomum species, which has medicinal properties. This output reminds me of a fine liquor that has been bathed for some children's syrup. After a while, when the scent begins to show its evolved side, fantastic notes of violet and orange blossom emerge. The violet here is almost imperceptible, it only helps to maintain the balance of the sweet aroma. Finally, in an evolutionary journey that lasts for a long time (Yes, its evolution is long!), we have a creamier base with vanilla, amber and labdanum. In this case, the labdanum shows a sort of animalic facet, and that’s why it is so compared to the Ambergris. I believe seeing a bigger number of complaints than compliments, for this cologne. However, it is a scent that honors the Bogart quality, mainly in projection and lasting issues. And, without a doubt, stays out of the common place, without having to appeal to oud variations. Hello! After correspondence with Cassiano, I decided to buy the Bogart Red Story blind. I have a tester 100ML,Bogart where it is written about composition - Composition - Lavender, Cardamom, mint, cedar, orange flower, violet, vanilla, labdanum, amber. The smell is delicious, sweet and strong, suitable for autumn, winter and spring, at the very end feel cardamom, vanilla and labdanum, the scent develops 20 minutes, early lavender and mint attack the alcohol but after 15 to 20 minutes it changes, very lasting on the blouse the next day. If you like sweet, marzipan and aromatic scents this is for you. If you like Paco One Million, Tasmeem Rasasi, Versace Eros, Bogart Pour Homme, Joop-Homme, you will like Bogart RED STORY. This is unique. This is Bogart’s. This definitely has that Jacque Bogart’s perfumery / scent character. Bogart Story Red starts fresh and a bit sweet. It has that Bogart’s signature of ‘Grape Soda’ in the background. It also has that Bogart Pour Homme nuance which is kind of sweet fruity & wet tobacco to my nose. But this too only in the background. So it’s kind of mix of some scent DNAs imo. The cardamom a bit reminds me of YSL’s LNDL. The lavender gives it soapy tone. So imagine this: 25% freshness of Silver Scent’s Grape Soda. 25% sweetness of Bogart Pour Homme’s fruity/tobacco. 25% spicyness/sexiness of YSL LNDL scent. 25% soapiness. Fresh enough to wear in warmer weather. Sweet & bold as well to wear it in cooler / night out situation. Versatile, good price, performs really great, smells great. Very underrated brand, underrated line. 7/10

Bogart Story Red (12D82) - It's red, red, red!! Put on a red velour suit, spray on some Big Red soda and sit in a room decorated in red with a slice of red velvet cake and you'll get the vibe of Bogart's Story Red. It has a sweetness but not syrupy, like an earlier review mentioned it does have a kinda "fruity/powdery" vibe but it dries down to very nice Amber/Cedar/Vanilla scent. Longevity and such off my skin is on par with the other Bogart fragrances. I really enjoy Story Red and I think it's easily unisex so both ladies and gentlemen should give this beauty a sniff. Edit: I should add that I feel Story Red can be worn day/evening in Spring, Fall, Winter and would be suitable for most occasions with spray discipline.

Minty Silly Putty basically. It has a wonderful synthetic plastic smell (hence my Silly Putty comparison) with a blast of cool mint. Totally artificial but what's wrong with that? Story Red smells like no other fragrance in my 400-+ collection and It's a great go to for any time and occasion. Warm and ambery in cool weather, fresh and minty in warm (not that weather actually matters, wear what you want when you want to!). Story Red is a unique addition to the Bogart line, but you might want to avoid 'Green', which isn't really 'green' at all, but a more generic fruity fragrance much less inspired than this!

It's a well blended, thoroughbred perfume and far too cheaper. i got it for less than 900 INRs. It's also the first sweetish perfume that i actually like to spray on me. It lasts pretty long, over 10 hours on my skin. Also, it doesn't change much through the drydown. Sillage is good as well.

Hey,here is the other Story fragrance,and Red is a bit better,still confusing though.Mint,amber and lavander,some white flower here and there,surely reassuring and comforting,but a bit poor in originality;anyway a step better than Blue.

Yes in my nose it smells similar to man in red ferrari with a better SPL. In the base notes, it smells the same as the scent from the Jaguar for men evolution

I love this juice,is very similar to axe adrenalin clasic desodorante and this is nice.. thos remember my good old times, i love this scent.

Once Bogart Story Red has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a synthetic, moderate projection, amber, cardamom, and lavender fragrance with soft white floral accords. The fragrance feels inexpensive, masculine, mild, modern, slightly powdery, resinous, rich, syrupy but not sweet, synthetic, warm, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020. WOW RATING: 5/10. It is a good spicy and ambery fragrance, good but not impressive. DISLIKE RATING: 2/10. The amber note has a soft gasoline-like, synthetic soft leather note that could be offensive to some people. You will smell this 18 hours later on your clothes. The longevity is extreme. It has kind of a powdery fruity smell. It's not very strong, it's actually pretty decent for projection. This isn't a super powerhouse like some of the other Bogart lines but it does last long. It's a little bit on the synthetic side but it smells pretty good. It's an easy going fragrance such as running errands or maybe going to the gym. You could wear this to work as well. It's a warmer weather fragrance just because it has a bright smell. This is an easy t-shirt and jeans type of fragrance and it's affordable. This could be for someone that just wants to smell good and maybe doesn't take fragrances too seriously. I give this a 8.4/10

Most of Bogart fragrances have a similar atmosphere, masculine, heavy and formal, sometimes considered classic. This fragrance smells good to me. In addition, the notes listed here are different from what Bogart wrote on the tester. For example Peppermint is written in Mint and Violet and Vanilla are not brought here.

This is an assertive scent with citrus and lavender to the fore, although the overall composition is balanced and subtle. I'd say Story Red occupies the same area of olfactory spectrum as PR 1 Million, in that it's a strong and slightly sweet-smelling spicy floral. Story Red is very linear and lasts and lasts and lasts! I tend to wear other fragrances during the work week but this is a vibrant, fun scent to wear at the weekend and to come back to occasionally.

It's not bad. Story Red is a fruity and amber & tonka scent. Longevity and silage are both very good. It does remind me of RDLC for Men Lee Cooper Originals A blind buy, fairly happy with it and the price was OK. *Update* The silage from this is very effective.

Got all three of these (Red, Green and Blue) All long lasting and pleasant. Here are my opinions on comparisons: Story Red - Silver Scent. Story Blue - Polo Sport. Story Green - OMS Emerald Edition.

#297 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is not a scent from when Nixon was in the White House, like "Bogart", a granddad scent to be sure, but one with balls. Story Red lacks that sinus-annoying grape soda note of the Silver Scent line, features stronger floral and amber notes, though the citrus note here is a bit sour and hangs on longer than I'd like. This is not a bad smelling juice, but it's not really inviting either. Nevertheless, it is a moderately performing EDT, in a day when most don't perform at all, which makes it my top pick of the Bogart line. Won't be featured in my rotation, but if $20 is your fragrance budget you can do a lot worse, though something like Ted Lapidus Altamir is more up-to-date with fragrance trends and similarly priced.

Story Red feels like a lighter version of Silver Scent, its ok... other than the sweet note it doesn't offer much. Moderate performance and lasts about 5 hours on my skin.

I'm still testing it so take it as an workin' progress opinion. Absolutely not a winter specific scent but more all year around. The Bogart DNA it is very prominent. SR at a first quick sniff it seems a carbon copy of Silver Scent but then it is evident that's its little bro. Instead to have a prominent floral nature like SS it's fruiter but in a very artificial way. Pleasent scent with nice average longevity after all nothing terrific nor awful. A great value for your buck.

It's ok for the price. But to me smells too synthetic, smells like a car/room spray rather than a perfume.

The worst performer from this house in my experience

Got this looking for a cheaper alternative to LNDL Le parfum, it is not. Smells nothing remotely similar and I wasn't a fan at all. Ended up giving it away.

Good scent in my humble opinion. It’s fresh like clean laundry yet still has an exotic nuance that keeps me smelling my wrist, it’s a different one for sure because of something in the background of the scent as a whole. I prefer this to the green which I own as well. Red lasts awhile too, especially on fabric. I own alot of bottles of different stuff and find myself using this one quite often lately. I still need to try the blue. I would say price point and originality are are pros with Bogart Story Red, to me I don’t own anything else that smells quite like this one. If your looking for something uplifting and different Then this might be for you. But keep in mind the smell is not dark, it’s very very bright and fresh but not aquatic.

Wow, this is not good. Terrible misstep in this company's decision making. Synthetic and muddled, just like its counterpart; Blue. I do smell grape in Blue but who wants to smell like synth grape? I got both Red and Blue in a special promo vial packet. Tried them both then saw no need to try them again until I red the reviews and thought I should add my thoughts. So I tried them both again, one on each wrist..............just foul when it comes to the Red Story and the Blue is just sad. don't buy without sampliing first!

Ordered one show ruby got this instead. Absolutely love this fragrance, maybe not to everyone taste but I enjoy the contradictions of notes.its not s shrinking violet of fragrance (definelety smell violet) bit not overpowering to offend. To me reminds me of a sugary, syrupy, he wood on steroids but think that's because I love he wood and compare everything to it. If you need a fragrance that will last for 2 days then you be found it however most Bogart ate the same can't miss

JB Story Red is an uncommon sweet fresh fruity fragrance. It share the same DNA with Arabian Nights. But while Arabian Nights smells disgusting to me, Story Red is much more fruity and smells addicting. As the DNA of Arabian Nights reminds some of the gum smell, Story Red is like a fruity bubblegum. But don ́t get me wrong, it`s not like a hubba bubba. It`s just that fruity Accord. A fruity fresh and sweet smell.

After 10 minutes this becomes a wrist-sniffer, and it’s because of the mint note. Contrary to the plastic smell I get from many mint-centric fragrances, this is an understated, natural mint that provides a lovely cooling sensation for the nostrils. It’s not a main player, but it’s the secret ingredient. I didn’t even detect it until the third wearing

This is a nice sweet smell. Fairly synthetic. It resembles a mix of Silver Scent and D&G Pour Home 2012.

I use it as an air freshener in the car. I don't consider it suitable for anything else.
