Sunlight Grapefruit & Rose

Something in this is so nostalgic but I can't put my finger on it. Imagine a small bouquet of fresh roses placed inside a vase full of Paloma that you are smelling from a foot away. It does have an aquatic feel to it with the grapefruit and orange. It's basic yet so clean and elegant. Perfect for getting cocktails with brunch at the Grand Galvez in Galveston. It is light and a great freshie/pick me up. At first spray it is a little sharp but instantly settles down to be a smooth grapefruit rose duo until the grapefruit fades away about an hour in. It is then a dewy fresh solo rose fragrance for 30 minutes or so before the orange kicks in and is such a pretty flirty wingman to the rose. I haven’t been able to find a difference between sunlight ( clear lid gold nozzle) and this one ( nude lid). That would suggest if you have one you don’t need the other. They are both clear watery florals with citrus peeking through here and there. The combinations of notes give a lotus or water lily kind of vibe.

I was hooked by the grapefruit and blind bought it. This one does not have the Jil Sander vibe. I smell grapefruit only at the bigging and then, just a floral scent. It is OK, just normal floral scent with good sillage and longivity. For me, the dry down is a generic so unfortunately this is no for me. Do not get me wrong, it is not bad, but not a big fan of floral fragrances. The price was great though. I hoped it will be more citrus, but on me, pure floral :(

This one is very light. It starts with grapefruit, lands on a watery fresh rose and I found it quite boring until the real drydown where the orange came through.... That’s when it shines! I’ll be hiding this one away until the warm weather to see if it’s worth keeping.
