English Pear & Sweet Pea

This is so nostalgic to me. It's fascinating how fragrances can transport you to a different time. I only have a sample of this and i kept thinking thar it reminds me of another perfume.. i think it might be Chloé, but I can't put my finger on it. This will bother me till i figure it out lol. Anyway smells so pretty definitely Feminine. Office appropriate. Perfect for brunch. I just applied it so i can't speak on longevity. The projection is great. I can picture a very well put together girl or woman with this on. Manicured nails. Hair done. White flowy dress. Love it! I think it could be a safe blind buy, but i rather you go smell it at the store since it's a bit pricey. Update: Don't kill me, but it reminds me of Jlo Glow, BUT better lol I'm so glad i figured it out!!!!

I was curious about this fragrance because it has been ranked top three in the Cosme awards for the past couple years. It has a fresh and clean scent. Decent performance for a Jo Malone fragrance. It smells delicate and pretty to me, I can see why its so popular in Japan. After a few hours of wear, that sweet pea dies down and we are left with a classic masculine cologne type of smell. Its an interesting twist, and probably what makes other reviewers call it a "mature" fragrance.

A very bright and happy scent with the right balance of floral and fruity elements. Greener than Freesia, with a hint of freshly crushed leaves. The subtle aromatic nuances make it a perfect pairing for Pomegranate Noir, which results in deeper, warmer and utterly alluring composition to my nose. For a softer composition, I layer this with Peony Blush Suede. On its own, this lasts overnight on skin and at least a day on clothes.

The perfect springtime fragrance, it’s a fresh, dewy, soft floral. I love the musk base note of this flanker, it’s a touch sweeter, and much airier compared to the English Pear & Freesia which gives it a delicate, ephemeral quality. I’m so glad I bought the gorgeous bottle with the limited edition diamond glass design before they switched to the regular plain glass.

One of my favorite pear scents. I always get compliments when I wear this. Smells sweet and youthful. I like this one more than the freesia one. It’s a strong fruity floral but doesn’t last unfortunately. I only have the travel size and am thinking of getting the hair mist next time since it costs less and has about the same longevity. Overall, simple & pretty.

I LOVE this! To me it smells fresh, sweet without being cloying. I don’t like the pear and freesia- too sweet by half unless I layer it with wood sage. THIS is just so yummy though! It has that sweetness as a top note but a kind of green grassy feeling too. It does not smell like detergent or body mist to me at all, but a lovely fresh and unusual scent. Adore!

I was excited to try this, and it’s pleasant. It reminds me of a Marc Jacobs Daisy. I like it best when first sprayed, but as it dries down it smells very powdery and mature. Edit: the more I try this, I actually really like it! It comes off simple at first, but I’m really enjoying this the more I wear it. That’s why it’s important to test!

Not really a fan of the OG Freesia but this one...... hell yes. Pear with a touch of clean & musky floral undertones which creates a balanced amount of juiciness, sweetness and cleanliness. Such a polite and playful scent, truly a pear perfume of my dreams. Really glad that they’re keeping this beauty in the classic collection!

This is great unisex scent - fruity floral but with a mature side. I like how this smells on my husband as well. This is also the only fragrance that has somewhat captured the way sweet pea smells - intoxicating, a bit sharp and sweet. I would say this is how falling in love would smell. - uplifting and making you dizzy.

love it. inoffensive, sweet, fresh, and so pretty. it's an easy reach for me. it's jo malone, it's overpriced and not long-lasting. it was a purchase on a special occasion for me and i associate it with happy memories. i'll continue to repurchase for as long as i can afford it.

This is unisex enough for me to wear as a man because it is clean smelling. Reminds me of actual sweet pea which i was surprised by. Im a gardener and first time i grew sweet peas i thought, “wow that smells like perfume”. Like perfume generally, not a specific one.

I love this one! I got a compliment from a random stranger (which has genuinely never happened to me before) while wearing this perfume. I find that it lasts pretty long on me as a skin scent, but it doesn’t project for very long.

I love this pear scent and don't think i can live without it in my collection. If you want to amp up the longevity, try layering with a musk. I use Glossier You body butter and also layer it with Fleur de Peau.

I got samples of this from my SA a few days ago, I absolutely love it and I decided to layer it with blackberry and bay. I’m so in into it, I love it way more then English pear and freesia.

This is a beautiful pear scent,i LOVE it. For me flower and pear mix is incredible,its a sweet fresh scent,for me its easily a 10/10 fragrance.

Wonderful and pleasant. Pear and Musk are well incorporated. Sweet Pea is photorealistic and not too cloying. Lasts.

Received a sample of this today. It’s a little soapy and light. Could potentially make a bed time fragrance.

as someone who doesnt like sweet fragrances..this is DIVINE. a very clean and sweet perfume

This is my go to perfume during spring. A soft and gentle floral, very easy to grab.

My favourite Jo Malone scent, I wore this on my wedding day.

English Pear & Sweet Pea is pretty much exactly the same fragrance as English Pear & Freesia (I have a travel size of the latter) but without patchouli, and that's a good thing. I hate patchouli. However, I find this as well as English Pear & Freesia to be quite mature. I know that people get offended when you call a fragrance "granny" (which I completely understand) so I will just say that none of these two are young fragrances. They're also kinda heavy for Jo Malone. Usually their fragrances are very light, inoffensive and easy to wear, but this is a more heavy and warm floral. I don't find it to be very fruity or musky, it's very much a straight up floral. I do like it, but as a 39 year old I almost feel too young to wear it. I will use it up, but I won't repurchase, at least not for another 15 - 20 years (if it's still available then). English Pear & Sweet Pea actually has quite strong projection and longevity, I can smell it on myself for hours. Overall rating 6.5/10.

Such a romantic, femenine floral scent. The pear notes gives the sweet pea flowers a dewy, moist feel without being overly fruity. It's sweet, but fresh at the same time. I feel like I'm smelling flowers close to a freshwater fountain. The mood changes with season: in Fall/Winter it smells delicate and ladylike. It evokes nostalgia and feelings of a bygone era. In Spring/early Summer it feels more flirty, fruity and extrovert. I don't feel like this is a unexpected or groundbreaking fragrance, but it's still very nice none the less. I bought the 100 ml bottle but to be honest the 50 ml would have been just as good, I can see me wear it often but not every day.

Beautiful fragrance, Got a sample from Jo malone. It smells very similar to my bottle of lacome idole, which will be the pear. Sadly like all other jo malone fragrances I've had, The performance is poor. Within the hour there's not a trace on my skin. At first spray it's a skin fragrance. It doesn't project, People had to be very close to me to smell me. Even when first applied, So when I factor in the performance Vs the cost then no, I won't be buying. Shame cause its stunning. I'll stick with Lancome idole for my pear fix and Burberry - my burberry for my sweet pea fix (not this doesn't smell like burberry my burberry but it's my favourite sweet pea frag)

The scent itself is very pleasant, very "garden-like". During the first 15 minutes there's an unsettling nuance that reminds me of overripe fruit— it still looks fine but has already started to rot. After that fades away, it leaves you with a beautiful fragrance for about 30 minutes: fresh, green, airy, and incredibly comforting. Then it gradually fades away. Performance-wise, it's very typical of the brand: soft and perfectly office-friendly. As for the scent itself, I find it interesting and comforting, but not something I would reach for every day—even if it only lasts for a fleeting moment.

smells like a cold, fresh spring day. this is what i imagine persephone to smell like. it’s a bit strong at first but after a few seconds you get the flowers. as the description says, this is perfect for spring. no matter if it’s a warm or cold day. however, unfortunately the scent doesn’t last long on your skin. on clothes, sure but for the body you’d have to re-spray it every 2-3 hours or so. still, i really enjoy wearing it since it makes me enjoy spring much more than usual :)

I really like this scent. It’s sweet and simple. Simple usually isn’t my thing, and Jo Malone scents are sort of designed for layering, but at that price point I wasn’t about to buy multiple bottles at once. I don’t recall what its suggested pairing was but I think it would be nice with something that would dial back the sweetness and give it some depth. I also wonder if it makes me smell like an old lady as it is, florals and powder, but it is nice and the bottle is pretty.

Fruity, sweet, soft, and fresh. I love the musk after an hour or two. Smells similar to golden ticket by snif but softer and sweeter. Hate the longevity and projection so you'll definitely have to layer. Great for a warmer day. Definitely not worth buying retail price. I would like it more if it projects but its nice if you're going to be close to people and want something simple and welcoming.

My my, I understand why many people like this fragrance. Just like another review noted, it smells similar to the other J.Malone pear fragrance, but in a much sweeter presentation. Juicy, fruity, floral and innocent, I picture this being worn by a debutante. This fragrance is an innocent fresh-floral that has nothing about it to dislike except its performance. That's all.

Very sharp opening. Could be alot for people with sensitivity to such but after about 20 minutes the sweet pea is left alone which is very very pretty but it smells 80% to me like Killians Roses on Ice. I know the notes aren’t even similar but this is what I smell! This one is softer and much Less “sharp” so more feminine in that regard but it’s extremely similar.

Pear is the prominent note here. Reminds me of The Body Shop White Musk l'Eau, but this one is much less pungent and less powdery. I like it. It's soft and calming, like a mixture of pear, musk, and cucumber. I hope this one is here to stay. Yes, I also get the DKNY be delicious vibe, but this one, again, is much softer and more expensive.

A slightly more masculine version of English Pear & Freesia, which makes it more unisex and versatile. One of my favourite Jo Malone fragrances, citrusy, musky, fresh and floral, not much to say since its very simple, but the simplicity just makes this fragrance all the more better🤷.

i LOVEEE the opening - fruity and floral, but fresh and crisp and not at all saccharine. unfortunately it fades really quickly and then you're left with a musky scent that's a bit spicy and has vanilla/floral tinges. and that scent is fine, but it's not what i'm here for, alas.

I don’t usually go for scents like these but I was pleased with this. It’s nice and light, almost delicate but it’s definitely a scent you can layer with. Not something I’d wear all the time, but I like the subtleness and the pear note is the perfect touch.

A green apple Jolly Rancher, but instead of sugary rock candy sweetness it's a crisp, light, fresh floral! Clean and beautiful for spring. The more spritzes, the merrier! EDIT: this would not leave my skin and ended up feeling nauseating...

I love this and would wear it in a heartbeat but unfortunately I'm finding that sweet pea was overused by B&B and now I cant smell it without being reminded of the splitting headaches B&B's scented hand sanitizer gave me

It’s a lovely scent. I do think it’s fascinating how pear truly is such an aquatic note. It’s got a little bit of this dreamy ana sui style undertone to it. It’s almost peppery as well. Safe blind buy for sure!

Beautiful fresh realistic pear scent opening, followed by an unrecognized floral scent which I would assume to be the sweet pea, but also tea-like. All in all it’s very likable for me. Moderate silage for me.

nothing to write home about... could be easily mistaken for a bath and body works or VS fragrance. i like that there is a tartness to this fragrance, but again.. nothing particularly memorable.

Lovely, elegant, feminine scent. Very similar to English Pear and Freesia, only softer and milder. I usually get a headache from strong floral scents, but this is ok even for me.

Very nice and pretty but smells like a high quality body mist or women's designer. Clean, shampoo, floral. Very simple. Hard to dislike but is it worth the money?

I like it, for a cologne the longevity is very underwhelming... beautiful scent though, unisex but female leaning. I do also just love sweet pea too though

The pear is gorgeous and sparkling, and the overall opening is fresh and floral, but unfortunately the dry down isn’t that great to me.

I like it. It’s gentle and sweet and floral. I normally don’t like floral scents but this is an exception. Way too overpriced, though.

Something about this smells exactly like the slime I made at 11 years old with glue and fabric softener and I think that’s beautiful
