Kanon Agarwood

I have a thing for cheap ouds, and Kanon Agarwood doesn't disappoint. I may even like it better than Bogart's City Tower, but this scent is new to me so time will tell. You definitely get the patchouli up front, but it's clean and not blurried. Kanon Agarwood is pretty smooth in it's composition, and feels a little more formal than I imagined it would have. It kind of reminds me of an old abandoned Luthren church hidden deep in the forgotten woods. It's slightly damp with a gothic and rustic feel, while at the same time still maintaining a cleanliness that keeps it handsome and likable. Agarwood will definitely shine best with a chill in the air the same way you'd vision a sweet cherry tree under a frosted morning. I think even a mainstream fragrance carnosaur could like this if given a chance. It would make a great introductory into a more eclectic world of scents for a guy who can't seem to put down that bottle of Cool Water. Don't let it's Cheap price point sway you into not making a purchase here. Yes, Kanon Agarwood is synthetic in composition, but it's not a headache inducing mess either, and getting down to brass tax, it's a nice scent for what you pay, and it’s strong enough in quality and originality to be a worthy contender to your collection. If you see this sleeper at a bargin discounter don't hesitate to pick it up, especially if you like modern pachoulis like Thierry Mugler’s Ice Men. I could already tell at first spray that this scent was an instant olfactory memory creator. I believe I've just found my perfect Thanksgiving scent. A kick ass cheapie of instant love!

It sucks that poor Earl looked high and low for this one, finally found it, only to be completely let down by Agarwood. I have over 100 bottles of fragrances, and I don’t have one that smells anywhere close to this sweet, frosty, cold patchouli. That said, don’t run out and drop a lot of cash for this scent (maybe if you’re a hardcore collector), as there are other interesting offers out there to be had for cheaper now that online sellers are taking advantage due to discontinuation. My perspective comes from the fact that I paid a bargain bin price and got something in return that I perceive to be surprisingly unique for the price point. Despite the naysayers, this is without a doubt Kanon’s best release to date, and well done for a budget house. Buy only if you can find it at a good deal.

This is a steal, if you're looking for a place to begin then this is it. You're not spending a lot on a full sized bottle sprayer in box. The oud is not on a pedestal but it's there and don't expect it to be the oud type found in non-alcohol attars that are "dirty" or "oily". The previous reviewers are dead on when they talk about the initial bursts being synthetic. Let it sit give it time and this cheap scent and it's aroma come across as so much more than what you payed for.

This one will grow on you after awhile. The oud note is not overdone, so if you are expecting an oud monster, this that is not. However, it's undeniably there and it's marvelous. It's one to go light on (no need to overdo it). For maximum effect, it is really a good idea to spray this one on skin and clothing. Doing so enhances the oud a bit longer. Moreover, it will hold more great surprises through the day! Well done. Huge thumbs up!!

Thank God I got a bottle before it was discontinued! This thing is gorgeous!! It was an instant classic for me and an honorable mention for my favorites shelf.
