Bois de Yuzu

I love this. I got it today. I've been looking for something light but masculine, warm but sharp, expensive feeling, classic, since I lost the ability to buy Lauder for Men which is so sadly discontinued. This is not exactly the same but it will do. I always go for the Chypres, I used to love the OG Chanel Pour Monsieur, OG Givenchy Gentleman, the OG Armani Eau Pour Homme. They all had something in common, at least to me, they had a light crisp top with a warm and complex expensive/luxurious smelling middle and a nice woody/mossy ending which smelt beautiful for hours on my skin. At least that's how I remember them all, it's been a while since I've used some of them. I've been making-do at the current point in time with one of my faves Versace L'Homme, it really suits my skin and smells amazing when it's dried-down and is still available at least, but I think Bois De Yuzu will be my new permanent fragrance because it's more like all the others I used to wear and love over the years, and as I said, it really reminds me a lot of Lauder for Men in a way and I was gutted that I couldn't get anymore of that one. This is a fragrance you could wear anywhere at all, formal or casual, night or day, I guess it's more of a warmer weather fragrance but I'd still wear it in winter anyway only because I love it and how it makes me feel is the most important thing. Projection is not bad, it lasts ok, not super strong but OK, it (at least on my skin) doesn't change into something powdery or different from the original tone it had when fresh which some fragrances can do, so it maintains it's character throughout, it smells very masculine but light, classic but also timeless, and I would say it would be a safe blind buy if you already like Chypres. 9/10 Edit March 2024: Well I'm no longer as enthusiastic as I was when I wrote the above, the novelty wore off and I decided I wasn't as in love with it as I was to begin with. I still like it, but I think I got bored with it and because of this it's obviously not signature-worthy to me. As time went along and I wore it more and more, I was less and less enthusiastic about it. I'm finished with the bottle I purchased and have started looking around for something else to wear as a signature scent instead. Two things made it a disappointment for me, one was it just doesn't have the staying power I need, it wears off too quickly. The second is that it doesn't have the complexity I thought it did to begin with, it's too simple. It's nice, but not the perfect fragrance I'm looking for. I still think it's a safe blind buy and still think it's a good fragrance, but it's not the signature scent I was looking for. 7.5/10

A very nice, pleasant, fresh, citrusy, green fragrance. While it’s a little generic and doesn’t last long, for the price you can purchase a bottle, Bois de Yuzu represents a phenomenal value for money, which in today’s economy, I can’t say about lots of designer perfumes! The scent profile is catered towards summer weather mainly, being built around a bunch of citruses, herbs and soft , fresh spices, but it would work during springtime season as well. Maybe not the highest quality perfume or the longest lasting, but there are fragrances that smell more synthetic/ artificial/astringent than this 20 something euros cheapie. I got it for my husband after smelling it on several people at work as a casual, everyday, no fuss scent. For how it performs, how much it costs and how pleasant it smells, I would recommend Bois de Yuzu to any male, no matter the age, for hot&humid weather! It’s a simple freshie but it smells good!

I like the yuzu and ginger opening with a touch of woods. Perfect for Summer days. After about 45 minutes it darkens though and then it’s papyrus and a fairly inky oak moss. I was hoping this one would have stayed a little brighter throughout the dry down and been a Summer daytime staple of mine. Given that I only paid $16 though I’m not that disappointed in it. A year later: Over time I’ve really come to respect this one. It works so well in Summer and in Spring and Fall also. The yuzu opening is not in your face strong but also very present in just right amount. The oak moss dry down is wonderful. Will always keep this one in my collection. Superb value.

Bois de Yuzu starts with an energic and natural smelling yuzu blast that evolves immediately into a very nice and clean, unsweetened citrusy scent that is so refreshing and elegant at the same time, I think the ginger really elevates the top notes a few notches here. The drydown is a very clean and reassuring smell, that reminds me of freshly washed and tumble dried linen (is it what papirus smells like?). Office friendly scent, especially in the summer. A fragrance of such a high quality at this price point is almost a miracle; may not be a game changer or particularly innovative, but it's executed extremely well.

What can i say? The first time i’ve smell it at a store it shock me. Was the first time i’ve smell something like the Yuzu. Very citric fragrance who i love. The performance could not be the best we expect, but it is a pleasure to re apply. The Nutmeg is awesome and leaves a sweetie feeling the skin after several hours. Top ginger-citrus combination for warm and spring days. But i use it 24/7 man, i love it. Not getting tired of it. For now, my signature smell on this trip i’ve just start. And what a start with KL Bois de Yuzu.

Great freshie that will make you feel uplifted and lift your mood. The scent appeals to the audience. Longevity is only average, and sillage is nice and soft. Definitely worth a shot!

Zesty and bitter citrus yuzu that is very refreshing. It slightly reminds me red adidas perfume from my teenage years (Probably because of the ginger not) but this is definitely higher quality and multidimensional. I get some ginger and orange in the opening too. When it dries down post 2 hour, I can still smell the citrus with some mild green notes. Good projection for the first 2.5 Hrs and the scent dies out close to the 5 hour mark. Excellent value for the price!

not some cheap-smelling lemon citrus kinda scents.... I LOVE THIS!!! finally I can wear some citrus frags without smelling synthetic or dishwasher-like smells!!! love cos this does not turned to some sour citrus scents after hours of wearing, love the cheap pricetag, love the sillage, love the longevity, love the expensive-smelling yuzu, love the bottle, love that I could actually wear it to the gym cos this mixes soooo good with sweats! SO LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! ;p

good fizzy sprite and mint opening, good lasting power, gorgeous bottle, affordable price tag, smells more like 55 to 60 usd worth bvlgari line. amazing freshness and what you pay vs what you get is a straight up win, not niche quality or daring though. this is safe everyday scent for the common man, for work, gym and casual, whole line is worth collecting. yusu isnt so share as leau dissey thank god, got vibes of Dior homme sport and l'eau dissey summer. 8/10

It certainly has a resemblance to L’eau D’Issey but Bois de Yuzu is more subtle, less “in your face” screeching metallic citrus (a whole new scent of the 90’s) I would describe Bois de Yuzu as an elegant cologne. With the lightness of a traditional cologne but the solid presence of a masculine fragrance. It’s a remarkable perfume, effortlessly elegant yet casual. No idea how I found this perfume online but I’m glad I did. Absolutely recommended.

I like this one to be honest. I have both KL Bois de Vetiver and Bois de Yuzu and from my point of view, Yuzu is better for me. I realised, that this EDT reminds me something or someone from my life, yet I did not figure out who or what :D But its definitelly a positive feeling. Its very very citrusy, very fresh, seriously, there is a little resemblance to window cleaner, but only for a very short period. 7/10

What a gem! Underrated fragrance! Great freshie that will makes you feel uplifting and such a mood lifter. The scent is pleasing to the crowd. Citrusy fresh with the yuzu, ginger. Compliment getter from people who loves this type of fresh frag. Longevity just average and sillage just nice, soft. Perfect for office wear. Should give it a try. Very cheap. 20 dollars for 100ML in Malaysia.

Indeed there is a yuzu, and something grassy as well, what reminds me of CH men, but more of Avon Urban Edge. Violet leaf is not listed, but it is definitely there. This is one of the fragrances, which are not pleasant in the close to skin vicinity, it is messy and rasp, but has a wonderfull sillage trail, like for example Chanel Egoiste Platinum does. Nice summer freshie, lovely.

I think Karl Lagerfeld lost his appeal, after the excellent fragrances in the seventies and eighties. But this one is quite nice. A realistic take on Yuzu, fresh and uplifting. Is it different? Alsolutely not. But its a good reach in spring and summer for a very affordable price. And a nice bottle too. One of those I will rebuy every summer, for not too complex ocasions.

Great scent, finally a sophisticated yuzu. Although the house of Lagerfeld hasn't been that great in recent years, the bois-selection has it live up to old standards again. Nice fresh and uplifting scent, ideal for spring and summer. Projects just well, only longitivtiy is a problem. That having said, I will buy another bottle. Bottle is nice too so no complaints here.

Another great fresh, reliable cheapie, 20$ for 100ml, performance is around 4-6 hours with some projection for 1-2 hours and then leans more intimate, but you can overspray it just fine at this price. Great for going out with friends, spring and summer days, more appealing to mature masses but as a teen it just grew on me.

At first, it seemed weak with bad sillage. But after wearing this a bit longer, you realize that this is a true hidden gem with absolute amazing drydown that stays on your skin for >12 hours. This is sophisticated, fresch and deep without being offensive. Love it!

I feel like it gives off a 90’s vibe, maybe beause of the yuzu and papyrus found more in 90’s perfumes. As a child of the 90’s, it kind of takes me back to my childhood, so I find it very calming and conforting.

Super fresh scent different to the normal ones. My Mrs likes this as its not overwhelming her when she comes into kiss me but it sits on my skin for 10-12 hours intimately which she finds very sexy

This is all about the dry down. Initial blast is super citrus zingy and a bit too much. But give it time and it settles into a really nice floral and woody scent with some depth. Really nice
