so here’s one i never thought i’d love or review, hell i had no idea of its existence until just recently! i actually have the body spray and i am pretty sure it’s this one, it just says mankind on it, but the can is black so i was a little confused if it’s not actually the black bottle flanker (hero?) that i have? but i don’t think so, i think it’s just the difference in the packaging of the actual cologne vs the body spray. anyway, how did i come across this? well i was staying with my dad and had run out of deodorant, and this was on the bathroom counter, so i figured, hell with it. i wear and enjoy men’s deos a lot anyway, i find them fresher and longer lasting. so i spray it on, and BAM, i am hit, very unexpectedly, with a thick cloud of pure NOSTALGIA. not of my father (apparently he never wears this, cuz i just had to have it and he said go ahead keep it, ive never worn it anyway, LOL) but of a smell that those of us who were mallrat teens in the 2000s, like myself, should know very well: the smell of abercrombie and hollister stores in the 2000s!! it is EXACTLY the smell of walking into an A&F store circa 2005, probably more so than their own actual scents (which i haven’t smelled since around 2005 tbf). i have no idea why this particular scent is making me so damn happy right now, because i don’t fee particularly nostalgic for that actual era, and i was more of a hot topic mallrat at that time anyway 😂. but nonetheless, i freaking love it. and ended up stealing my dads can, and will surely repurchase when i run out. i might even try the actual cologne, although i feel that the deo/body spray format is part of its charm. eau de 2000s mallrat kid. lmao. it’s dated and a bit tacky but in the BEST of ways. i suppose every generation has their scent(s) that fill this specific niche but i didn’t know that this specific kind of nostalgia scent was something that i wanted, needed, or would even like. it wasn’t something i ever thought about. and here i am leaving a rave-y review about how much i love it and wearing my dads (lets be real, probably bargain bin) body spray over all my classy expensive feminine perfumes 😂 c’est la vie!

PLEASE make an Intense version of this! Mankind is a really nice scent with a wholly modern feel. I consider it the perfect summer night or date fragrance. It features a dark pineapple note that's given some sexy depth with the addition of tonka bean, cinnamon, and cardamom. This is anchored by a woody base of vetiver, though the vetiver really doesn't stand out too much. Mankind has an immediate mall/mass market appeal to it, and this may turn some people off, however when it settles in it really takes on its own character and unique charm. Its upbeat, yet sensual. Appropriate for cold weather, yet perfect for warm summer nights. And it's smooth--a nice construction with no off notes or anything out of place. However, the longevity could be better. In my experience, it's short-lived, lasting about 4 or 5 hours before dying out. It really only projects for about two hours. I would love to see an Eau de Parfum version of Mankind, or "Mankind Intense," as this is such an appealing fragrance. Versatile, interesting, and hitting all the right notes, it just needs a little more oomph to push it over the edge from very good to excellent. Still, I'll enjoy my bottle immensely this summer, and will probaby get another when I run out. Compared to some other designer fragrances that feature pineapple, such as Tous in Heaven, Black L'Excess, and Legend, I find Mankind the most refined and sophisticated. It's more interesting, yet remains more subtle. It doesn't over do it, and it does not shy away either. Definitely a keeper, and worth sampling if you're looking for something to spice up your summer.

An absolutely fantastic scent. It opens with pineapple and dark greens (tarragon) and a good dose of sweetness. Quickly it morphs into an accord that smells very inky - the blackness of oakmoss and I detect some rose, a hint of anise (from the tarragon) the cinnamon and oakmoss and cardamom. There's a bright metallic note that so often accompanies scents that have pineapple (the same note is in CK One, Joop Nightflight, Ambre Topkapi, Mont Blanc Legend) and it is splendidly juxtaposed against the ink accord. Actually, the metallic note is what the pineapple morphs into - so (thankfully, to my taste) the pineapple note - as distinguishably pineapple - only lasts a short while. The opening couple minutes are a bit "standard fare" but within a few minutes that ink and metal accord, set against a backdrop of soft dark spice and suede, comes to the fore and the scent becomes something special. An exceptional business/office/classy scent, that is neither stuffy nor boring. Imagine a darker, smoother, less synthetic and overall more artsy take on Mont Blanc Legend. It also shares some qualities with Abercrombie Fierce in the dry down, but is far classier and more mature. The cardamom and oakmoss really shine in the dry down and take this to another level. This is as versatile as Bleu de Chanel, but does not at all smell like aftershave/shaving cream, or "like my dad" as I've heard Bleu described by some younger girls. It smells more unique and distinctive, and also more distinguished than Bleu. If Bleu is a white collar worker, Mankind is his supervisor (in a nicer and better fitting suit!).

This might not be a powerhouse fragrance that demands attention like Creed's Aventus but I find myself wearing it more and more each day, so much that it has become my signature scent by default. It's a subtle juice at first but don't let that fool you. This frag needs to be worn to be tested. A moments smell on a strip will reveal nothing. And reveal it does well as the very slightly fruity and spicy top notes dissipate, the sweet woody middle notes come up flawlessly and with ease and then as the bottom notes come into play the dry down can only be described as magnificent! Each transition is blended into each other so well you don't know it's happening. After 2,3 and even 4 hours I'm constantly thinking 'where's that amazing aroma coming from' and I'm delighted to find that it's actually coming from me. I cannot overemphasize how good the dry down is because the first half hour of wearing this frag is just an OK woody frag but wait for the magic to happen and you won't be disappointed! I get 2 to 4 hours of sexy aromatic, mildly spicy & warm, goodness from 4 to 6 sprays. Up to 6 hours if I double up.

I absolutely love the smell of this. It's not a very strong projector, but I generally get plenty of whiffs of it throughout the day. Initially it didn't last very long, but lately I'm getting about 6 hours, maybe longer on clothes. It does evolve quite a bit. It starts off more fresh and aromatic, then becomes smokey, then later it's basically woods and cinnamon. I would describe it as cozy, masculine, and a little sexy. I think this would work for any age really, day or night (but more night than day) and any season. This is currently my favorite fragrance I own. Update: I recently tested out Montblanc Legend and YSL L'homme. Mankind doesn't smell like either of those to me, but I feel like they fall in a similar category. I'm a fan of all 3. I have smelled at least 70+ fragrances and have never smelled anything like Mankind. It really is an underrated scent. Mass appealing but not boring. I love the way it performs on my skin, and the way it smells on my coat. It's a very rare fragrance that I never seem to get tired of. Honestly it's a 10/10 for me.

One of the hidden gems... What a masterpiece Kenneth Cole! Very nice, wonderful, unique, classy, pleasant scent that is not boring at all. If you are a fan of the legendary Fierce Abercrombie & Fitch fragrance, this is the right fragrance for you. It is not an imitation, but it follows the same path of the Fierce. A very masculine perfume that exudes masculinity. Suitable for all occasions and all seasons, but it is more creative in spring and summer. The pineapple scent is the most distinctive note, not the clichéd sharp pineapple but the refined pineapple blended skillfully with the rest of the highly pure ingredients. Mankind represents the cool, light American taste in fragrances. Tip: To get the most out of your experience, make sure to get the original version from the Kenneth Cole website, it's a bit pricey but of high quality and costs around $84 for 100ml.

This would be a great addition to your summer collection. Although it doesn't belong to aquatic category, it would beat most aquatic on longevity and sillage. The prominent notes are pineapple, vetiver and musk. People that are familiar with vetiver knows that it smells like wet and cold earth. The pineapple here gives a little citrus and sweetness and then cardamom adds creaminess to the fruit and the tonka beans gives it a little smell of vanilla. Do not worry to much about the cinnamon and sandalwood, they are very tame and barely noticeable so it's not going to be like 1 million, Original Santal, Mont Blanc Individuel or Spicebomb. I live in Manila, Phillipines so I have tried this during hot weather only and I can say that it is perfect as a hot weather/summer cologne. My overall rating 8/10

While this is not an identical twin brother to Abercrombie & Fitch's Fierce...it is so close that it may be it's fraternal twin. That's how close these two are! This is about 95% the same as A&F Fierce. A fragrance leading with it's woody notes, a slight touch of cinnamon, and you can deff smell the pineapple in there as well. Makes for a great combination! Price is MUCHH lower than Fierce and smells just as pleasant! Longevity - I get 5-6 hours out of this one. Sillage - At least 3 feet, if not 4. Most deff acceptable in my book. Scent Itself - 8.5/10 This is deff a love for me. And an absolute no-brainer to anyone who likes A&F but doesn't wanna spend $70-$80 for a 100ml bottle. Really...it's that close and I got my 100ml bottle for $30! An absolute steal for how good this smells!

Yes it’s generic, but it smells really good on me. You guys probably wouldn’t believe me that I got almost the same amount of unsolicited compliments on this one against my 2013 Creed Aventus. I still got half a bottle of my 2013 Aventus and I’m on my second bottle of 100ml of Mankind. It’s mind boggling that I spent $350 on my Aventus and $33 on Mankind and getting the same compliments. This just shows no matter how much your cologne is, or if it’s generic to frag heads like us. To average consumers/girls if it smells good, it smells good. They’re not going to ask you if you’re wearing a $350 or $33 cologne. Their usual question is “Wow, you smell good. What are you wearing?”.

Got this for my boyfriend and here are the samples we got: acqua di gio Armani millesime imperial Creed Missoni Missoni monte blanc Legend angel stellar Mugler bleu noir Narciso Polo 67 Polo Red Mankind Kenneth Cole First he picked Mankind and then we've branched out to polo 67 and red then bleu noir and angel stellar. Mankind is a great and all the notes blend really well together. The only downside is that I wish it lasted longer. I understand this feeling sort of young, but we are in our early 30s so it doesn't feel out of place.

I’m convinced these people have bad taste in cologne because this smells amazing and have received multiple comments for this. Very fresh woody manly and I’d say serious. Definitely something to wear on a date and you want to make a great impression. I wish this was an EDP. Honestly the entire KC Mankind Line of cologne smells great unfortunately they don’t last long and aren’t very potent

wow so I smelled this today at Macy's and it's quite amazing. I plan to purchase this now after a day wearing it on my wrist.

Kenneth Cole is not known for making quality goods...However, this one is pretty good. Not great, but good. Pineapple and cedar are very dominant in the opening, followed by a trail of cinnamon. I get a lot of clean fruity musk in the dry down with a touch of clean vetiver. Nothing ground-breaking. It's mass appealing and safe. It's a clean fruity scent that is good for any situation in the warmer months and even into fall. It's not a "WOW" factor scent, but people will think you smell good. A solid offering at a solid price. Scent- 7 Longevity- 6 (I get about 6 hours) Projection- 4 (not a projection monster in the least, but it adds to its charm) Presentation- 8 (I think the bottle is unique with some cool touches to it. The cap is pretty nice and so is the atomizer) Value- 8 (for around 20 bucks this is a workhorse fragrance that can fit a lot of situations if you are on a budget or just want something cheap for work) Overall- 7 A solid scent, but there are better things in this price range, but I think it is still pretty good for the price. Blind buy worthy? Yes. It's cheap and inoffensive. Compliments? You might get a few, but this isn't going to blow anyone's mind. Is it a clone- Nope. It does have some similarities to AF Fierce, but not many. It's its own fragrance.

My girlfriend bought me this and she like this one and Mankind Hero. It's pineapple, cinnamon & tonka bean...i can smell though out the whole frag...with a hint of a green note. So this is kind of generic, but in a good way. Over all if you can find it under $25.00 bucks...go for it. Smells great. I used six sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest and front of my shirt. Will I buy this again?...No. Does this fragrance enter BEAST MODE, good, just okay or weak sauce at best? Good. To my nose this does start out in the initial blast along the same lines as my bottle of Mont Blanc Legend Intense, and initially I thought "oh great, this a redundant bottle to own":p(can't compare it to Fierce or original Legend like others have mentioned since I haven't tried them) But in the drydown, is where the saving grace came in and it switched up and kind of went down the path of a less spicy YSL L'Homme. And since I really enjoy both of those scents, I was very happy with this scent and it's mild, but noticeable progression! I haven't done a full wearing yet, but two sprays to the back of my hand seemed to be at least average longevity for me....but projection certainly didn't seem like anything to write home about after the 1st hour or so. Still though, this is a highly versatile fragrance that will fit a multitude of occasions with a pleasing aroma that won't choke out a room.:) And I think one that will get quite a bit of use in my rotation.

This truly is a great fragrance ! It's kind of a simple pleasant smell that if you don't have a lot of fragrances this will be great to purchase but if you have multiple frags then this fragrance might be a bit boring, The scent itself is a fresh,out of the shower smell that's smooth,slightly fruity,slightly woody and a bit musky in the drydown. Pretty basic but it's still very pleasant none the less ! Scents that this remind me of are Abercrombie Fitch Fierce and in the drydown it does remind me of a fresher,lighter version of L'Homme. This scent would be a great gift as I can see this being a universally liked scent that won't offend and get compliments. Performance is average as it lasts 3-6 hours with just slightly average projection which would make this perfect for work. Overall rating --- 7 out of 10 ! Great scent that's definitely above average but at the same time it's nothing that will help you stand out.

I like a lot of KC’s fragrances. I saw Mankind at a rack store and picked up a gift set with a 100ml bottle along with deodorant and shampoo. For under $30. Great presentation the bottle is thick glass and well built appointments. The juice is manly and starts off spicy sweet and the dry down is more woody but maintains some sweetness. I get 6+ hours on skin and on clothes much longer. Sillage is arms length foe a few hours. For those that compare it to Legend, I have Legend, similar yes, identical no, but Mankind out performs Legend. I have found that most of KC’s men’s colognes perform at or better than average. Try Intensity real nice cooler weather fragrance!

This is what I'd call a safe high school scent. It's sweet, bright, smells like Fierce but a lot cheaper. It has a level of sophistication that I like. It's definitely not complex, definitely linear (except for that pineapple note that fades). Longevity is poor: 2-4 hours on my skin before it's nearly imperceptible. It could be a solid office/gym scent for the 25+ crowd. It's cheap and likely won't offend anyone, ever. It smells like what most people would say "cologne smells like." A 6/10 for me. Worth looking for if you're younger and want a decent signature scent. Can be had for under $25.

Hmmm.. this is a strange one. Like many contemporary men's fragrances, it has a soft, feminine aspect to it. There are some very beguiling notes present, but something quite powdery and soft on the dry down that makes it less than perfect for me. It is not a casual scent, perhaps good for the office or when well-dressed. It doesn't last particularly long either, and becomes a skin scent after a few hours. It is nice to wear when the situation calls for candor, refinement, and a pleasing disposition. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 7/10

This is good stuff. Versatile, Not unique but that's ok. It has the legend vibe, but Legend is also good juice for any situation. Good Job on this one KC, performs good not great, but it's a solid win. Perfect for a gift if you want something safe and universal. Worth buying for the price and quality, gets compliments and does smell expensive. Intense version is even better, Hero is a hidden gem. KC did a great job on this line.

ok so kenneth cole mankind...right when you spray it for abt 10 mins(to me at least) it smells like bad breath mixed with wood. but then after the 10 mins the whole scent changes. after the 10 mins when it eventually dries down, you get a nice woody fresh type scent. not unique but not like any fresh scent at all. im prob gonna wear this to school tommorow or the gym. overall:7/10

Too me this is closer to Azzaro Chrome than Fierce just because it's so soapy. It's very bright and fresh. Doesn't smell just like Chrome, but it has that super soapy vibe. This is a great after shower fragrance, and it's good for just running errands and stuff. Like most people say nothing Great nothing bad, easy to wear and pretty safe. Average performance.

Kenneth Cole's Mankind is poor man's YSL L'Homme! The same ginger-cardamom-vetiverish concoction. Not to say it's bad - but it does smell unoriginal. A safe crowd-pleaser that will leave next to almost nothing to someone's imagination. Overall: 3.5 5 Nose-gasm 4 Awsome sauce! 3 Good but not exciting enough 2 Meh! 1 Hell to the no!

Was gifted this by a friend whose grandma works in the perfume industry. Simplest explanation of this is an elevated Abercrombie Fierce. A nice, non-offensive spicy woody fruity scent that works great for summer/warm weather wear. May read a bit young for some but definitely not too much of a generic teenager type scent.

I've never smelt fierce but this reminds me of YSL L'homme. That ginger and the woods are very similar. The fact that's it's a quarter of the price too and performs about the same as YSL may be a no brainer. Suitable and versatile. Great for office and everyday running errands, or even stay at home

This is damn beautiful, and something you really can't go wrong with in getting. But, this is something that, for me, when I wear it, within a few minutes, I just get so used to it, you don't even notice you have it on anymore, but, others will, and compliment. Spring/Summer/Daytime wear.

Like others have said, this smells like YSL L’homme. I have enjoyed it so far. It is fresh, light, and I would say safe. I think it would work well for any occasion, and it performs well. For being relatively cheap, I think it’s a no brainer pick up for someone who wants to smell clean!

I have bought this cologne at a walmart , it is my first fragrance , and i dont understand the hate! This fragrance is great for starter fragrance collectors and it smells pretty good. Definetly a buy since its pretty cheap

My review of this fragrance is it reminds me of YSl Y Scent 9/10.Powdery smell for me Design is a 5/10 Value is a 7/10. 1 fl oz $15 dollars Longevity is 6hrs Overall it's a 6/10 Sillage is heavy.

Great fragrance I'll definitely buy this one I own kc black, kc black vintage and kc reaction I can't think of what other fragrance this reminds me of right now but I do know this scent is great

Very refreshing and soft, To me it resembles Tommy Man by Tommy Hillfiger.... Worth buying if your passing, but I wouldn't go out my way to buy it..

i like the opening and the middle notes are good. I don't care for the dry down skin scent. smells like musky babies breath or something.

Soapy ad shower gel like, love it seriously good stuff! doesn't smell expensive but it smells very clean and sexy

that pineapple scent is pretty dark...smells lovely. I see this working nicely in the fall.

This does not smell like Fierce or legend

***Reviewing Kenneth Cole Rise EDT as it does not have it's own entry for some reason*** Not bad at all. First spray is fresh/soapy but with enough spicy/citrusy notes to balance it out. Rise adds mandarin and eucalyptus to the top notes to add a minty/citrusy kick with fresh ginger as a middle note for added spice. Dry down: Become slightly sweet, spicy and earthy/herbacous. Does not seem to be powerful or long-lasting. Would be a safe blind buy if you're looking for a fresh scent with a but of spice/citrus to keep it interesting but still very wearable. Even so, I would definitely not pay more than $60 for a 3.4 oz bottle, maybe $80 if I was absolutely in love with it but that seems like way too much for this. The ingredients smell authentic and well blended, they're just not my style as I don't like pepper/spice in my freshies.

I get the Fierce comparison, but for me, there's too much fruit and not enough herbs/spices to give it the zest I always got from that. It compares closer to Legend, but there's a sweetness to it that can't help also comparing it to Lacoste Pour Homme. I guess that both of them being created by Claude Dir might have something to do with it. I blind bought this in a 15mL sample pack with Mankind Legacy and Mankind Hero on clearance for $6.49. I'm glad I was able to knock these three out for as cheap as possible. None of them seem to have any type of wow factor, so while they aren't offensive, I won't be sad when they run out. 5/10

Kenneth Cole Mankind at first spray it reminds me of a Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce. Nostalgic because I was a huge fan of A&F Fierce back in the days, nothing complex here just pleasant, fresh on top and woodsy throughout the life of the scent. This is a perfect outer jacket scent, spray it on your favorite garment and enjoy wiffs throughout the day. It is a safe blind buy but nothing extraordinary. Longevity: 3-5 hours (must re-apply) it stays longer on clothes Sillage : 1 hour (arms length) Value: Good $30 for 100ml

This to me smells like fabreeze in the opening. I am split because I actually kind of like it, just perhaps not on me? So, I have been giving my room/bed a few sprits of this and wow. It smells bomb in the air, I think this smells much better on objects rather than skin, due to it smelling like a cleaning product. It's a pleasant scent for a cheap price, just not something I can bring myself to wear outside of the house.

The projection is very weak but overall the scent is a good fragrance. With this being more of a skin scent I would only wear this outside the shower or to the gym because it’s lack of performance.i believe any age group can wear this anywhere and for any setting. Me personally wouldn’t go out my way to purchase this specially for retail price but it will make a great gift .

A little on the strong side for those who have sensitive smell like I do (most overly strong fragrance give me an instant headache), but this profile is not too offensive to me - unlike Lacoste Essential I recently tried. It still gives me a very mild headache but completely tolerable. The best way I can describe this is it reminds me of a luxury / clubby setting that's not overly aggressive. Despite the woodiness and "stronger attack" imo, it has a noticeably fruity top note which makes it a bit more refreshing on top of the underlying notes of "luxury / macho / playboy". I'm almost certain I had friends with air fresheners of very similar profile on their Mercedes AMG and it fits incredibly well with a brand like that. But like many has said, the profile isn't unique, again, it smells like some *good* but generic air refreshers for cars that's everywhere. Lol. I think the profile fits characteristics of: Western, Business Casual (lol), People with slight to medium BO / smell naturally, Masculine, Clubbing, etc.

First off, this is a freshy. Something for out of shower or going to the gym. Maybe even to work. I got this for really cheap at TK Maxx. I do like hunting blind buys, one of my mistakes. Good news: there is absolutely nothing wrong with the scent. Bad news: there is nothing about this setting it apart from others. And longevity is not that great either. So if I paid 8 euros for 50 ml off this stuff, why not splash an extra 7 to 10 euros and get 100 ml of something like Sculpture from Nikos? Much better value for money. I got rid of it.

This is a big, jumbled mess of a cologne. And I use the term "cologne" in the most generic sense because it's impossible to pick out any of the notes. It's just one big wall of smell--like a strong, old school fragrance for teenagers. Something a teen might think a "man" should smell like but immature to a more mature crowd. Pineapple, vetiver, sandalwood, tonka, cinammon? Where the hell are those notes in this fragrance? Musk, sure. Sold my bottle. This one is a hard pass.

My fiance bought a sample of this and offered it to me to see my thoughts. The first thing I thought was, "is this the abercrombie and fitch cologne?" I stand by that observation. To me, it really smells like a grown up, more complex and better formulated version of Fierce by A&F. It's not necessarily bad? Maybe it is. I can't tell - I have too many memories from the early 2000s getting choked out in the local mall by this fragrance.

Tried again...very bland with little sillage/longevity. There are much better in this category although the prices are not too bad on discount. I would grade this a D but if one is looking for a minimalist cologne that stays close to the skind...this could be rated higher.

Very sweet in the opening (too sweet perhaps). It gets muskier, spicier and better in the dry-down. Moderate longevity, strong projection during the first hour, moderate afterwards. Not bad. Test it if you like sweet fragrances.

This is your typical mass market beginners fragrance. It actually smells good if you are 25 and over you have smelled this several times. Fruity,spicy and woody is the best way to sum it up. Performance is average at best.

Pfaw. Mass market, predictable, unoriginal and not at all interesting. A tester was sitting near the cash registers at a T.J. Maxx with a Mont Blanc Legend tester. They smelled almost identical on paper.
