Karus Secret Musk

Straight out the box, this is AMAZING. It was manufactured a year and a half ago so I'm sure that has helped make this the smooth fuzzy yumminess I'm smelling now. I haven't tried Arabian Tonka, but if this is a clone I would like to at least get a decant. This smells fancy af, like you spent big $$$ without smelling like a fancy grandma. No offense to fancy gangsta grannies, but that's a niche I dont wanna fit into yet at 37, it'll happen soon enough. I get a sweet, fuzzy, slightly cherry-like Tonka. That Tonka is loudest but eventually lightens up to reveal a base that has a br540 vibe. The Tonka is still the main player, but the br540-ish base makes it more round and less linear. Underneath all of that I get a whiff of soft dark chocolate. It's not bitter, but its definitely not milk chocolate. It's very quiet but its present. I'd definitely say this leans more feminine with the sweetness. A man could wear this and smell handsome af, but I think most men would think its too sweet. It seems to have great sillage and longevity already. I can't wait til fall and winter now to wear this baby out. I still think I can wear it during spring at night at the very least, but its gonna be perfect for cooler weather.

Khadlaj Karus Secret Musk is the go-to if you want a high-quality alternative to Montale Arabians Tonka. It gives a similar bold, sophisticated DNA at a much more accessible price point. It opens with an addictive blend of soft musk and sugary sweetness that immediately feels clean and inviting. The middle notes reveal a decadent, gourmand-leaning heart of creamy tonka, rich chocolate, and romantic rose. The chocolate adds a velvety depth without becoming overly heavy at all. In the dry down it settles into a vibrant base of red fruits and exotic saffron. Very sweet and unisex. This could be a hybrid of Arabians tonka and Mercedes Club Black. (I'll explain the club black element in a bit) I sprayed it twice on my neck and once on my wrist, the initial blast is powerful with a very pungent sweetness of Saffron, Tonka and Amber infusion layered with a jammy Rose. It starts to settle and after about 4 hours I swear I was getting Mercedes Club black infused into my Arabians tonka clone. With time the rose subsides and becomes a little Vanillic for me. I hope it retains this and isn't just a foible of middle eastern new bottle syndrome. I wouldn't recommend going in close for a sniff having just sprayed...the opening will sit in your nose for ages. Out the box this lasted 11 hours, the spray on my wrist is still noticeable up close after 18 hours. Maybe don't go more than 4 sprays, as I can see this being clawing if over sprayed...but do as you wish :) Performance, scent profile, quality and value in abundance here. Khadlaj you beauty! I bought this perfume a year ago. Straight out of the box, it’s a 1:1 Arabians Tonka clone, maybe even better because I seriously got this for a little more than $20. But dang, she projects and projects even more. This perfume makes itself known long before you enter a room, and the best part is, she smells amazing! Up close, the roses and chocolate notes smells almost creamy but not thick. The saffron is not screechy thankfully, it’s beautifully blended with the amber and tonka notes. I love how after a year of storage, it only got better. It’s eternally present! I was testing it on weekend cookout, and even after all the grill smoke and being exposed to the elements, I smelled amazing when I get home! Love this on me! And others did too! I gained a deeper love for rose notes because of this beaut!

I love this perfume because I love this DNA. If you haven't smelled Arabian Tonka, you probably have smelled Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud. Secret musk smells similar to these fragrances but much more transparent and musky. It's strong no doubt but other 2 are like beasts. The only difference is this focus more on musk writing off oud. Usually, musk and chocolate combo gives that oudy vibes which makes additional oud redundant and unbearable for those who are not used to Middle Eastern fragrances. Chocolate here is quite prominent. I feel saffron, kind of roasted tonka beans and non animalistic musk. Rest are fillers. I would wear this in cold weather special occasions and I bet it will turn heads. If I smell this on someone in the cold air, the first thing I would think is money.

I just got it today! I have never smelled Arabian's Tonka so I can't comment on that...but I can comment on Roses Vanille. RV is one of my all-time favorite scents and I have been dreaming about buying it for months. I got this because the notes intrigued me but I am blown away by how similar it smells to Roses Vanille. This was love at first sniff, it is a deep, sophisticated, slightly sweet rose with prominent musk and amber. It smells heavenly to me. Like a warm, but sexy hug? You have to like roses to like this scent. It is decently unisex, happy that it is not overly sweet. I am sure it will get even better with time as most Arab fragrances do, but this is an extremely successful blind buy for me. So excited to wear it today!! :)

This is now one of the best perfumes I have. It has beast projection and longevity, on me it leans slightly gourmand, not warm spicy. I get a lot of the Tonka bean, chocolate and amber notes, the saffron and musk balance it perfectly to not make it overly sweet. I got a sample first because I tend to dislike perfumes with chocolate notes in them, I was happily surprised with Karus secret musk. I think it leans much more feminine than unisex, it does smell pretty sweet to my nose, so elegant, alluring and sensual. It goes great for night use with colder weather I believe. I will want to try more from Kadlaj surely after finding this gem.

I just got it today and loved it straight out of the box. It's sweet, musky and strong! I get a lot of roses and no chocolate, in fact, I get a much more potent roses vanille by Mancera. I have both and the similarities are striking although I like Karus much more. I haven't smelled Arabians Tonka so I can't really compare on that but if you like musky sweet fragrances you gonna love this. And if you have roses vanille, I still recommend that you get this one cause however small the similarities are they make a huge difference.

This is a gorgeous unisex frag that leans a tad on the feminine side but a confident man can easily pull this off and it’s really sexy 😉 It kind of reminds me of Montale’s Intense Cafe, Sensual Instinct and BR540 Warm and comforting, this is a perfect cold weather fragrance that will not offend anyone. It’s a gourmand so fall, winter time, and the holiday season are the best times to wear this gem. Performance and projection are pretty decent and niche like at a price that will make you smile 👍 9/10 🙌

Freakin love Secret Musk. Totally slept on fragrance all over the place. Me as a 35yr old maskuline man absolutley love this. I even introduced this to my 58 year old mother and she totally fell in love with it as well so i'd this has a insanely wide Unisex aspect to it. It's a perfect example of " How you wear it " type of perfume. I'd say it's pretty close to the OG but its sort of sweeter without being too sweet. And the performance is absolutley insane!

I have this and Momento by Riffs. I let both macerate for a while. Even though they've very similar, Momento is indeed the better choice for something similar to Arabians Tonka. I don't pick the red fruits personally. And it is indeed a bit cloying and strong in the beginning. Still a very solid parfume, Momento just seems better made and lasts longer in my opinion, I have to agree to the opinion(s) below.

Unfortunately this took a reaaaaallllly long time to smell good. When I first got it, it smelled like gasoline. It took a few months to become wearable. Now that it is wearable I love it and it's one of my favorites. I also have Riifs Momento which did not take months to become wearable. Secret Musk's chocolate note is yummy. Riifs has a caramel note which comes through. Very similar- love them both.

This is such a classic sexy well rounded well balanced unisex perfume that to me leaned slightly feminine but still perfectly acceptable for a man to wear as well. Day or night, I wore it today to go out to a museum with my daughter then out to lunch. I always take my bottle of the day with me to touch up just because i love to really smell myself but this thing lasted all day! What a perfume!

I absolutely love this perfume. It becomes even more delicious after maturation, leaning more chocolatey than the original. Its projection and longevity are also above average, slightly less than Arabian Tonka. I enjoy wearing this more than the Arabian Tonka. Khadlaj is really killing it with its new releases, prices, and quality of fragrances. It is definitely my favorite Arabian brand atp.

Let me just say the quality of this juice CRAZY high quality. Smells 95% similar but Arabians Tonka has a more stronger animalic oud, the oud in this toned down, more likeable. As soon as you spray this you dont get a blast of alcohol you smell it right away which is great. Performance: first 7 hours good then becomes a skin scent but still projects a bit I love it 8.7/10 for me

Khadlaj sent this to me as a gift - free. I wasn’t expecting much from their fragrances which are all pretty much £30. I had never smelled a 10/10 fragrance before but i sprayed this and immediately had found the best fragrance in the world in my opinion (that i have smelled). It smells like sweet hot chocolate and the performance is even better. It’s genuinely INCREDIBLE.

I was recently in the hospital and I wore this to lift my spirits. A young nurse came in to help me, and was very nice. She said that she liked this fragrance, so I gave it to her. I was afraid that when I got my replacement bottle, it would remind me of being in the hospital, which was a dark time. Instead, I smelled it again, and it just is beautiful.

This fragrance is absolutely beautiful. This reminds me a lot of Silky Woods by Goldfield and Banks but it's not as spicy or smoky. It is one of my favorite fragrances, and this is probably a bit stronger in projection but softer because of having less spice. Value for money, and I'm yet to smell Arabians Tonka so I can't compare.

J'avais testé le secret Musk avant le arabian Tonka. Ma conclusion je suis amoureux des deux même si le arabian Tonka colle un peu plus a la peau. Reste sur vêtements même après lavage. Mais le secret Musk me convient très bien au vu du prix. Après je fais souvent des layering. 10/10 pour une note globale ❤️

This perfume it’s identical to Arabians tonka by Montale. As it settles down I still get Arabians tonka dna and some intense cafe always by Montale and some roses and vanille by Mancera. Overall this perfume its amazing and identical to Montale’s iconic DNA’s

I own Arabians tonka and it was running low so gave this a go. I find this is 95% spot on for me. Well worth the price of under £30 for 100ML. Projects well and I can barely tell it's not Arabians Tonka . Of course this is all subjective though.

This smells more like Arabians Tonka than Arabians Tonka... I would not be surprised to find a bunch of empty AT bottles at the Khadlaj factory. This is the only true 1:1 dupe I've come across- and I've smelled some reallly close dupes. 10/10.

It was love at first smell. In the beginning I get the BR540 wink as the fragrance develops, with a hint of roses, then tonka, into a sort of sweet white chocolate - that turns into a darker chocolate musk in the dry down. So addictive.

The smell in my opinion is heavy but in the air it smells very classy and elegant. I haven't tested the longevity on this but I can confidently say this will easily last 6-8 hours. You can just sense it by the smell of this beauty.

The best dupe I have ever purchased! Actually ... I love this more than Arabians Tonka by Montale, as Karus Secret Musk doesn't have that metallic tinge. Excellent longevity & a scent trail for miles!!! Back-up bottle worthy.

Fell in love with the Turkish delight, rose, sweet vanilla profile and this one is Roses Vanille with a twist. I like wearing this at night. This scent is addictive to me. Love this!

Sweet sugary musky saffron fragrance. A slightly softer take on arabians tonka. It still does perform great tho. Perfectly unisex

One of the best clones I have, 95%arabian tonka

I don't know how people say they don't get the red fruits! When I spray this, the first thing I smell is a burst of juicy red fruits, along with the saffron. Then a jammy rose note like the one in "montale intense cafe" or "roses vanille" appears, the rose, tangy juicy berries and the saffron blend together and they stay till the end. The chocolate is very faint in the background and the musk appears when the fragrance settles on your skin. I love it, very chic, very unique and very blended.

I suggest you try it before you buy it to see how you react to it !!! Also make sure to try a macerated one, it initially smells of gasoline of sorts... I like the smell, but IT IS NUCLEAR! To me is headache inducing, it is THAT POWERFUL! Nice blend and all, smells nice, but it'[s TERRIBLY powerful, and you don't even go nose blind to it, YOU KEEP SMELLING IT.. NON STOP.. EVERYWHERE.. ALWAYS.. FOREVER!

A lot more fruitier and sweeter than montale arabians tonka, i really love montale arabians tonka because it is masculine and sweet, so i am a little disappointed because it's too feminine leaning for me but it's still good. 8/10 it's really long lasting, i can smell it on my shirt after 3 days, projection is also really strong. For the price it's a must have.

Ambery sweet, Lactonic, powdery, rose.. I cant pick up any red fruit accord, a little bit cloying on the opening, but the dry down is kind of tempting, maybe because of oakmoss & musk on the base Performance is strong, not too unique scent profile based on my perfumes collection

straight out of the box didnt like it much but omg i let it macerate for 3 weeks and its freaking amazing now . i get the saffron, nutty tonka bean ,rose and the musk and oakmoss is sooo good at the end. amazing fragrance overall !!

For me, it's a dark and sexy rose with a hint of tonka, a touch of fresh red fruit, and chocolate. It's a little powdery, but not too much. Definitely more suitable for the evening.

Havent personally smelt Montale Arabian Tonka but this to me, is quite a simple musky rose floral airy smell that i think is basically wearable year round, lasts around 3-4 hours on skin with moderate projection but seems quite similar to moschino toy boy if you have it this is redundant, i dont understand what most others mention surrounding something heavy/creamy etc, its light airy floral with a touch of fruits but only when you smell close you can smell the amber and such and maybe a small touch of dark chocolate but only in the smooth melted aspect as if it melted onto your fingers however its very unoticable. This scent is generic and unisex and if anything would lean feminine, floral, clean, airy and isnt what i was expecting based of the makeup of notes and what others described it as. This gets a 6/10 for me so far, nothing id reach for.

This is a beautiful and elegant perfume. It smells expensive and lasts on your skin forever. Absolutely unisex. It is super well balanced, woody and musky with some light sweetness. The dry down is fabulous and lasts for more than 12 hours, eventually turning salty. I love it and I have ordered a back up bottle. Stunning. Don't buy it, leave it all to me. I am updating my review just to add that after 6 months, the performance of this perfume is absolutely nuclear. Incredible sillage and longevity.

Too powerful. Too much chocolate. As a man, no. But my 20 yo daughter loves it. She also uses it for layering with Khadlaj Rose Couture (PDM Delina Exclusif clone) which was a crazy idea of mine that hit jackpot. They have some similar accords and could probably also be mixed together (update on that one). That combo is awesome on her and I really recommend it to make RC more suitable on colder days. As of this scent, don’t blind buy it.

My nose interprets this as a combo of Choco Musk + Club de Nuit Untold (BR 540 dupe). Ironically, I despise both of those fragrances, but this one is alright and more well-blended. Definitely some BR 540 inspo in there with the addition of chocolate and roses. Great projection, solidly unisex and it smells rich, but it's still a little too sharp/smokey for my personal tastes.

I don’t know who said this is beast mode but its not. Far from it. Its a very quiet whisper. No projection. A skin scent

Starts to smell like blood after a bit

Karus Secret Musk is built on white musk, powdery musk and clean musk molecules. On some people these stay soft and fluffy. Unfortunately, my skin chemistry turns this musk sharp, metallic and cologne-like. It is the same effect that makes certain "fresh" florals or musky vanillas smell too bright or clean on me. My skin warms and brightens musks instead of softening them. No fault of the fragrance, just that my skin chemistry amplifies clean musks and powdery sweetness, stripping away the softness, and pushes it straight into a sharp, fresh, aftershave territory. I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't pull off this fragrance, but these are lessons we learn along the way and I will know in future to stick with creamy and warm musks. I will pass this lovely fragrance on to someone that will love it for what it is meant to be.

First Impression Fresh out of mail box, the decant come in hot day and shaky transport. I should let it sit a few day b4 trying but I'm too curious. Sweet rose + sweet fruit that has a little fresh citrus and sweet chocolaty undertone with a metallic musky style. Very strong and pungent. A gourmand hybrid that doesn't feel like editable thing. Edit: In the base it resemble BR540 chemical scent which I despise.

i wish i could like, even just tolerate, this perfume but i ONLY smell a strong, headache inducing musk. like i actually got nauseous just from spraying it on a strip. had to leave my apartment for a few hours as to not get a migraine straight up. so if you are sensitive to musk, DONT BUY THIS PERFUME. pleeeease listen to me lol you will hate it like this perfume literally traumatized me. im sure its amazing for those lucky ones who are not sensitive to musk, but please spray it carefully yall🥲 walking past someone with a musky perfume makes my head explode and body implode like its terrible

I was worried that with the notes listed this would smell like a saffron and rose synthetic bomb and when I first sprayed I was 100% spot on. It smelled like a cheap ME (Middle eastern)fragrance. Luckily I understand that you have to give ME fragrances time to settle after you spray them like 20 times in the air after first wear. They normally start to evolve after just 2 weeks and this one has beautifully. You don't get the Red fruits until you wait. I got the perfumers alcohol, synthetic Rose and Saffron at first. After 2 weeks you get a well balanced Saffron,Chocolate,Rose and a sweet red fruit accord. Its very unisex, but I would argue more masculine leaning. I never smelled Arabians Tonka but since its missing the Red Fruits I would probably prefer this version, Maybe🤔 I love this fragrance and is no#73 in my fragrance journey.

HONEST REVIEW OF SECRET MUSK. I have sampled Arabian Tonka and I have completed a bottle of Riffs Momento. Same way I have gotten myself Karus Secret Musk. What I'll say about these three is that they have a great scent appeal. Rosy, vanilla and chocolate dry down(depending on which). But among the three, the best has to be Riffs Momento, followed by Arabian Tonka then Secret Musk. Momento has a thicker scent profile as compared to Secret Musk, better projection and longevity. For secret musk as compared to the other two, longevity is poor as far as knowing the beast mode these scent profiles are. I'll say go for Momento instead of Secret musk. Same scent profile same vibe. Only that Momento dries down to a more vanilla scent whiles secret musk dries to a bit chocolate.

I like strong perfumes- I love to smell myself and for others to smell it on me, im not the your skin but better type. I Bought Karrus secret musk after watching a few reviewers say it was like Montale Arabian Tonka. I don’t have Arabian tonka and have never tested it. I cannot smell any fruit at all in my bottle just amber musk. It’s still a new bottle so I’m sure it will mature. But this is why I like it, I layer it with different perfumes and it just pairs so well with everything in my collection and makes them come to life. It smells expensive and very classy and this stuff lasts- 2 sprays and I could still smell it 16 hours later. I have to say this is worth every penny and I will be ordering another bottle. It is 10 out of 10 to me.

I just received my bottle of this perfume and it is SO similar to Montale "Arabians Tonka" but I actually like THIS one better. It has a touch of chocolate, which when combined with saffron and rose, make an absolutely STUNNING combo! Such a beautiful blend. The saffron and rose aren't too strong and the tonka and musk just round out the fragrance. "Arabians Tonka" might be a SMIDGE softer around the edges, but honestly they are so similar that I would go with "Karus Secret Musk" in a heartbeat over "Arabians Tonka." You just cannot beat the scent, strength, or price! I would say this is a "beast mode" fragrance b/c it definitely lasts on the skin and projects pretty well. Just beautiful. I give it an 9/10.

Ive just recieved this Perfume today. Straight out of the box its sensational. I can't image the richness will bring in time. But as it is im in love with this fragrance. Definitely unisex 50/50. Sweet enough for feminine touch and spice for Masculine touch. The blending in masterpiece. Ive never smelled th OG its mimicking but don't care. Im all about this. Its leans for Fall/Winter wear. But im wearing it away in warmer weather. I can't stop sniffing my wrists. DONT SIT ON THIS.. I BLINDED BOUGHT AND EXTREMELY HAPPY. CHEERS TO ME!!!

This is more saffrony and less cakey/dessert like than Arabians Tonka with the addition of a Dairy Milk chocolate in the mid. It also doesn't have the oudiness/metallic feel. Sweet but not as sugary. I don't really smell the red fruits that much. It's a very good dupe and nice in its own right, layers beautifully with other fragrances. Excellent value given that Arabians Tonka has insane longevity and projection and this one is not far behind at a third of the price.

I have had this too for a few months now. I have tried it every now and then. My opinion remains the same “meh”. I am realising that I don’t like the Tonka note. The Tonka smells the same as in Swiss Arabian Shagaf Tonka (and I really don’t like that one either) Other noses find this as a staple scent. Khadlaj is a great fragrance house, but this is a solid no for me after months of retaining. It is relegated to my “for the rubbish” box.
