Rose Ink

I think Rose Ink gets unfairly called "synthetic" by people who don't understand what that means. This brand works with award-winning perfumers working with first-class ingredients that happen to be mostly (not exclusively) natural oils produced by the legendary Robertet. Honestly, what I think is that they are confusing what is a "modern" vibe and a twist on rose that diverges from classical with it’s smooth, deep, and layered composition of saffron and blackcurrant combine with an accord they call a"crisp" amber to give it that “ink” edge (or what is being misinterpreted as "synthetic") that people talk about. It's a very "Eyes Wide Shut" kind of dark, sexy, and a little mysterious in a naughty way (in my point of view) while still soft in a unisex sort of way and definately wearable. This is an evening fragrance, great for special occassions (not so much the vibe you want for the office) and datenights, which I find performs well and is suited to both cooler and warmer weather. Cooler weather leans into the cozy vibe. Warmer weather leans into the "heat", sexy vibe. It lasts forever, projects beautifully, and smells expensive and is unique. It's a great alternative for people looking for a rose of substance but who can't abide oud. If you’re tired of sugary or old-school roses, this one hits the perfect unisex balance. Perhaps it leans a bit masculine (or dominatrix) but it is certainly bold without being loud and artistic without trying too hard. Total 10/10 for me — classy, moody, sexy. Rose Ink is certainly among the most UNFORGETTABLE fragrances Jerome Epinette has created. He was clearly inspired by Kierin's brief and has delivered us something which falls easily into the category of "Masterpiece". I have a soft spot for this brand, which is independently owned by a woman who seems very intentional and artistic, but that doesn't change the facts of the great work Jerome did here.

My ideal rose perfume. So beautiful. Rose Ink has a harsher edge to it from saffron, that I guess does smell like ink, but don't let that put you off. It works so well in here, the effect is still a smooth deep rose, I feel like the saffron/ink just makes the scent feel more unisex instead of a super girly rose. Fresher instead of too syrupy, great even on warm days. I also got compliments on this one from three of my friends, so it's not too weird or strange for people to like it. I don't feel the need to get a full bottle because I've just used up a whole travel spray, but I still really recommend this rose. It's lovely. The far drydown smells like the drydown of one of my husband’s colognes...I can’t pinpoint which one, but it’s intoxicating...

Very floral coming from the rose, and there is this synthetic extremely sexy note that they used to mimic ink to stop it from going feminine. It anchors this fragrance in the unisex range without a single doubt. It is not ink from a pen. I'm assuming it comes from the saffron and blackcurrant. None of the notes drop off in the fragrance. Instead, the base notes of smooth nonspicy and very aromatic woods come out to play. 10/10 Jerome Epinette is a genius. This fragrance lasts and lasts and lasts! 10/10. Wish it came in a 100ml bottle. Now I have to purchase 2! Edit: smells nothing like atomic rose guys. Don't fool yourselves. This one is much darker. Atomic rose is brighter. Please stop lying on fragrantica. It does nobody any good.

When I first tried my sample of this it was an immediate 10/10 for me, and it turned into my first ever full-buy of a fragrance (I've since learned I'm very picky and this is still my favorite). It's interesting, sexy, and unique, a little sweet but not gourmand. It's a strong rose with a touch of industrial something, and like another reviewer mentioned I get a distinct whiff of chocolate occasionally, but it could be the other notes I just don't know well. Long lasting on skin, good projection, and definitely unisex- absolutely worth a try.

Kierin NYC This brand has a lot of very attractive perfumes, so the most recent "ROSE INK" also feels the quality of a nitch perfume. The harmony between the saffron and the roses is quite beautiful. It's a perfume of great quality. *Great Sillage , Grest longevity , Reasonable Price , UNISEX

The "ink" note almost comes across like a new rubber smell. But it works well and is interesting and enticing. I don't get sweet, which is interesting as some people find it overly sweet It is not a typical rose or floral.

I blind bought this following the name "rose ink", thinking to myself rose, my most favourite note in a fragrance, combines with ink must best really interesting. However, the result here falls a little short of my expectation. The notes listed here are very accurate; rose supported by the combination of black current and saffron. While the combination does give some sort of a reminiscence of ink, its much sweeter than what i expect of an ink note. As a result, you get some kind of a little sweet, a little jammy rose. Decent rose fragrance with an affordable price tag, but nothing ground breaking. Ps. as someone who owns both fragrance, i wouldnt think of atomic rose when first trying this rose ink on, but when i see that people are mentioning it, i can i can see why people mentioned they are similar. However, when you compare them, they arent the same, plus they give of different feeling and mood.

Finally got my hands on this today! This is my first fragrance with the predominant note being rose - I own others where rose is featured (e.g Desire Red by Dunhill) - so like @Didier007is# as a man I was apprehensive about how it would take. Fortunately, I really like it, the opening is quite jumbled but slowly the saffron fades away, and the blackcurrant/cassis settles and kind of drips down into the blossoming rose creating this kind of jam-like feeling. There's a nice warmth from the amber and cedar as it finishes, but if I'm honest the dry-down is my least favorite part. Kierin NYC is my first niche house with my favorite being Nitro noir - in comparison, Rose Ink is far more unisex than Nitro but doesn't last as long (at least on hands/wrist). Still really nice fragrance and was totally worth the wait.

A good rose, but not a great rose. I found someone selling decants of this, and Rose Ink would be a good rose for someone with a lot of sweet traditional rose perfumes who is looking for something a little less traditional without going overboard. It's quiet, a little too quiet. There is none of the strong dark high drama/depths of despair rose scents rosequeen really likes in this one. And if you've become used to big bold rose and oud fragrances, or anything Middle Eastern really, you'll be very disappointed. It's not horrible though. Safe for work in a crowded office with a critical boss. (If anyone is working yet in such a place this year.)

To me, after it dries down I get 80% rose and 20% chocolate. Now, obviously chocolate isn't a listed note here, but I think the combination of the Black Currant and Cedar combines to create that smell. It's almost like a chocolate velvet cake with some vanilla frosting on it. That being said, it doesn't quite fall into gourmandish territory, rather this is more subdued, like the smells of the dessert course at a fancy, upscale banquet. Check it out if you enjoy rose-based perfumes UPDATE: After 4.5hrs, the "chocolate" has gone away and I'm left with this airy rose, great smell!

A gorgeous industrial rose - and I've tried a few. Whereas something like Atomic Rose opens beautifullly but sadly dries down like straight up rose pencil shavings (to my nose), Rose Ink has that element of something industrial (I assume from the saffron), without actually smelling INDUSTRIAL. It's conceptually inky and not quite literally inky. Rose Ink is a great name. It's rose with depth -- the 'ink' is not realistic, but rather something enigmatic & cutting against the rose and blackberry.

Tbh I wouldn't wear it, but it sure is interesting. The opening does smell like pen ink, and tastes differ, but to me it's fun. Then, it turns into something rose-y. It's spicy, woody and sweet, but not overpowering. I'd get it if I were more into rose fragrances, but since I enjoy wood and white flowers more for everyday wear, I ended with 10 am flirt and Santal sky from the same house.

Probably the worst thing I have ever smelled... I get that it is a rose fragrance but sometimes you gotta know when to stop. Such an overpowering, headache inducing, and synthetic scent (Dare I say, stench).

I was skeptical about wearing a rose scent as a man. Floral scents are designed for our feminine counterparts, right?. I was hesitant in wearing a "Rose" scent. A few days ago I received a sample of this fragrance when I have received a bottle spray that I bought earlier from the same fragrance house (Sunday Brunch - certainly my favorite tea lemon fragrance). I've to admit I was not convinced by the opening notes, but when it dried down this scent revealed to be a very interesting floral but warm and dark scent. I like the rose, blended with spice and woody ingredients. I have always been a big fan of woody notes! Definitively a unisex fragrance, it is innovative and bold. Impressive performance as it lasted on my skin the entire day, but more impressive was the sillage. I received a lot of compliments which doesn't happen often. Definitively a nice experience. As a result, I bought a large spray. Thumbs up for this indie Fragrance House!

Some of these reviews are truly comical. Rose Ink is a name. For someone to want to smell like then buy ink lol This fragrance smells beautiful. I give it a 10 out of 10 . I have gotten so many compliments from the fragrance. I do know my chemistry works well with it. I do say get a sample set first. Always find out for yourself!
