Blue Escapade 24

I bought this in Chicago in the boutique at the hotel we were staying at. I question the price tag, but can say I am sucker for 1. A good presentation (and the sales person was great, obvi) 2. Old school barber shop scents. The bottle is gorgeous and unique, the quality is as good as I you can get, and the scent and longevity is perfect. The brand does have its own DNA and I am happy I have the bottle as it was a special weekend and will bring great memories. It’s worth looking into this brand if you are looking for something special or unique such as a gift or wedding day fragrance, or if you just feel like treating yourself. The price is insane. And I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. 10/10 scent 10/10 bottle 10/10 presentation 10/10 longevity 10/10 sillage 4/10 price

Oddly enough this isn’t my favorite not because it’s a bad smell but it’s just a very masculine fragrance and I’m used to more unisex smells. And also I get compliments from this fragrance. It’s a very dry pepper fragrance with a citrusy ting (could be the grapefruit). Good sillage, I bought a bottle because it has a great performance but also I feel as though the dry peppery notes can be great for layering if I choose to do so. The dry down does have some sweet elements but the cedar keeps it in the realm of masculine. This could be a good night out fragrance or office fragrance because the projection isn’t too far, however I wouldn’t over spray with this one.

So I visited my local Ritz-Carlton today for Christmas and I saw on the maps app that there is a fragrance store inside??? Krigler! Never heard of it. Of course not. It’s too high end. Out the door you’re looking at +$800 for some 100ml bottles and other 100ml bottles going for +$650. I smelled a lot but not all. Didn’t want to take the kind salesman away from his clientele. The gentleman at the counter said I most resemble someone who would wear Blue Escapade 24. I inquired as to why. He said it’s because I come across as “reserved”. Flattered. It’s decent olde vintage style fougere. Manly. I think more Connery than myself. Not too reserved. Very Bond like however.

At first I get one of those old-school sweet peppermint candies, but then it dries down to this sort of citrusy spicy barbershop. Great fragrances and definitely depicts the picture it wishes to portray

Oh man...I want to love EVERY Krigler because they are so darn expensive and my first experience with 55 was Love at first sniff. I couldn't with this one. It is VERY peppery and astringent. It is all hard edges. It's not that the scent repelled me per se or not a pleasant scent but it is not inviting either. If I were to have this in my collection I would layer it with a white floral -- but then for the price if this fragrance can't stand on it's own I am not sure I want to make the investment. First spray comes in hot with black pepper boosted by the citrus. For a bit it leaned Vicks and then takes a turn toward post apocalyptic cedar forest. A scrubber for me. :(

Blue Escapade 24 is a vetiver based fragrance with some citrus and a noticeable fig note. There is also just the slightest hint of a peppery note as well, but it is virtually overcome by the sweetness of the fig note. This is a very nice fragrance that I've enjoyed each time I've worn it. I will say that there is a slight synthetic edge to Blue Escapade 24, but it hasn't bothered me as it does in some other fragrances I've tried from other companies . There is also a natural feeling as well that helps to balance the synthetic feel, and it may be that the synthetic nature I've felt is just the way all Krigler fragrances seem to have an aged, almost fermented vibe. This works very well for Blue Escapade 24. A full bottle for me...one day.

It is gorgeous and high quality but not my favorite from Krigler, especially considering the price. Maybe because i have America One and it is a much stronger version of Blue Escapade.
