Framboise Nue

15ml spray bottle. "Framboise Nue" A warm skin musk is used to surround the berry notes of Raspberry, Red, Black Current and Ginger for spice. It is sweet, but isnt too syrupy or cloying. Terri balances things out with the addition of ginger as a top note.The ginger combines with the musk to give it a bite (or a sexy nibble) in the opening. I enjoy KYSE fragrances as they have a body/depth to them that really defines them from mainstream fragrances.I think the fruit/animal fragrance idea is very chic and on trend for spring. Animal notes can veer too clean (white musk) or too sharp (Bogue Maai Im looking at you) The musk used is a warm lived in scent that doesnt lean too clean or too sharp that adds to the berries.I wish some of my more expensive niche frags used this type of musk than the clean white musk that seems to never quite blend completely into a composition. It is obvious Kyse puts a lot of thought and care in their offerings. I think this should be classified as a fruity animalic rather than a floral fruity as there isnt a floral presence. I cant wait to try it layered with some of the other offerings by Kyse.

This is my second favorite fragrance in the Kyse sampler pack I received. I love berry centered fragrances, and it's so hard to find one that's not a cheap body spray. This is the kind of berry fragrance I've been looking for. Juicy ripe sweet berries from the start, and I love the sharpness and slight bitterness the black currant note brings to the mix. The animal notes are subtle and don't compete at all with the berries. I don't notice the ginger note though. It may be part of the sharpness that I'm attributing to the black currant note though. Very much one I will enjoy in springtime. It's a fun fragrance for sunny cool days I think.

I'm in the minority here in that I love the animal note and am on my second bottle. It works with the fragrance as it is a green, sour candy with the animal note adding interest so it is not just another juvenile fruity gourmand. It is very aromatic, like a wild berry growing in nature that gives off something fragrant right after it rains. You break open the leaf and put your nose to it and it's a very bright and herbal. The fruit is not ripe and sweet, more tart and green. I don't know how to explain it, but I love it and I think it's well done and unique. I wish for better projection.

This is really interesting and I want to like it. At times the berry is crisp and fresh, but at times it smells a little like chap stick. There is a powdery sweetness that the listed notes don't cover, but it is nice.The animalic notes are a nice touch making it earthy and occasionally smelling like hay. The ginger is almost undetectable. I wore it again the other day and really enjoyed it. The berry was crisper more often than the first time and the earthy hay notes supported it well and kept it out of girlie-berry-land. This one is growing on me.

Framboise means raspberry and Terri just does the best fruit scents imaginable, even though she is known more for the dessert scents. The Peach Yuzu and Aux Fraises are exceptional fresh, realistic, juicy, but with something more too, so you don't just smell like a smoothie! I really like this one too. Some misses for me have been when she tries to do earthy or animalic notes in others I don't want to name, but I actually think it works here. I only got the dabber, but it could be it is more challenging with a spray. I will have to test more.

In 2017, Kyse made an apparent attempt to rebrand itself. After changing the name of the house, it released several scents that stepped away from the cavity-inducing realistic-gourmands-with-an-unexpected-edge sort of scents they had become so known for. It was a gamble, and I don't think one that really paid off. I was excited to try some of the newer scents, and am still eager to try those I have not yet smelled, after having loved so many of the original releases from this house. I got a sample for this scent passed on from another Fragrantican. First of all, I want to address these little screw-top pots that the 1ml samples come in. This is a horrible idea. The application is even worse than the stick vials, and spilage is a very real danger, not to mention evaporation and leaking since the tops don't always stay tight. I think Kyse needs to go back to the regular vials with the stick applicator. Anyhow, this is a nice scent. It's animalic for sure, and I like that. But I don't feel that the animalic note dominates. At least not on me. The berries are raspberry plus . . . Yes, the pyramid votes are probably right here. Definitely I get distinct raspberry. But it's not so much like the fresh raspberries I grew up eating from our woods. It's more like a cross between a berry jam and a waxy lipgloss. But then it starts to smell like doll heads . . . Remember the Strawberry Shortcake scented dolls? This gives me that vibe a bit. I think this is an interesting and daring scent. And honestly, I think if it had come from any other house, it would have been more successful. Kyse fans are used to the sticky, edible sweets, and this one just falls short. But I do think it marks a new direction for Kyse. I just hope they don't abandon the gourmands, because they are one of the best gourmand houses out there. Overall, I enjoy it, but I won't buy it.

Kuse Perfumes Framboise Nue combines the ripe sweetness of blackcurrant with the sweet/tart mix of raspberry and sharp ginger and allegedly some animal notes, though I mainly get woody undertones in the base. It's sweet, but not intensely sweet or a fully-committed gourmand (like Oui Plus, for example), yet it's an enjoyable unisex sort of sweet/tartness that is modified by ginger. Ginger is a note I generally avoid, and only in a handful of cases does it work well for me (most notably in Bleu de Chanel), but Framboise Nue is one of those exceptions. Ginger provides an interesting bridge from the blackcurrant and raspberry in the opening to a more subdued base. I'm not clear on what the base is, but it comes off vaguely woody and earthy, like a mix of vetiver and patchouli, not animalic. It certainly doesn't dominate the perfume, even in its dry down, though. Not as huge a performer as some other members of the Kyse family, but still respectable, with moderate projection and above average longevity. At $52 for 60ml, Framboise Nue is yet another affordable staple in the line and conquers new territory (most notably, berries and ginger) that I'd not explored previously in other entries in the line. A recommended try for sure. 7 out of 10

Smells like medicine, don't get any strawberry from it. Very nauseating scent tbh. Edit: After letting it macerate for almost 2 weeks, the medicinal aspect has died down, but I still don't like it tbh. The animalic note is most likely the culprit, and I didn't even notice until looking again that despite the name, it doesn't even have strawberry in it. It definitely smells like the other berries though once it has a chance to develop.

This is the third Kyse fragrance I am trying out and sadly, it really doesn't work on me at all. I am glad I didn't spray it all over myself right away, as I sometimes do when I am sure that nothing in the notes would make it risky.... Well, this one is, erm, beyond risky for me. Upon first sniff I am greeted by a strong note of overripe, moldy pineapple. I could not believe it but again and again this is what it reminds me off. Thankfully this awkward phenomenon calms down somewhat after a few minutes and I feel like I am sniffing inside a tube of fizzy tablets like for making lemonade. Finally, it resembles as if a piece of lemon sponge appears under my nose alongside the dodgy pineapple and the berocca note. I thought maybe something is wrong with my nose today, but I was later asked by someone sitting next to me what this smell was. I had them sniff my wrist and they said "what the hell is that.... it smells like... stables or something?" It must be the animalic notes that ruin this for me, or a mix of these and the ginger. Otherwise I could not imagine that berries would do this to my nose. Sorry, I tried, but I just cannot like this. Will pass to another fragrantician for further evalution :-)

eeek, by 'animalic notes' she means 'cat piss" ths is the foulest thing I've ever smelled. I mean, who wants to smell like a male cat sprayed all over you? Bozo may want to rethink her marketing strategy if she wants to discontinue her better products and keep stuff like this available. Yuc! And why the French names? Are these made in France? NO. Is she French? No. Does she speak French? Probably not. She makes this stuff at home using handmade labels and thinks she can charge department store prices. She won't grow unless she rethinks her naming strategies including her company name to something people can remember. I'm very disillusioned by this seller.

The animalistic note make this one smell like a barn yard. It's a no from me.

As soon as I opened the dabber I was reminded of animal buttholes. You know when a cat who isn’t the cleanest gets too close to your face when you’re least expecting? It’s like that combined with entering a barnyard. Then imagine you’re trying to cover up all that funk in the air with an entire bottle of Febreeze and you get... this. Stinky, screechy, and synthetic fruit. I cannot express how disappointed I am with Kyse. Five of six scents I’ve tested by this house have all been so underwhelming or confusing to downright atrocious.

This smells so bad 😭 I love a few others from Kyse but this was a huge miss. It indeed smells like piss and wet socks.
