Arty Positano Vanille Fleur d'Oranger

Aromatic, Sweet & Creamy Orange-Blossom... I've tested this a few times now, but I've waited until now to review as it needed time to settle. Opens with a burst of citrus-aromatics with orange-bergamot, rosemary & lavender. The aromatics give it a clean feel while the orange does give an orange Fanta note briefly as another reviewer notices, but this passes quickly. The opening may have a quickly passing similarity to Neroli Portofino Tom Ford, but overall they're very different, and this isn't a a neroli perfume. As it transitions to the heart, the aromatics recede, while the orange blossom heats up with powdery, white floral, citrus, creamy & sweet tones rounded out by jasmine and a touch of rose. Orange-blossom is the main theme of the perfume, with all of the other notes supporting that, and it gets more similar to Love Don't Be Shy By Kilian as it dries down. In the base there's a musky vanilla-biscuit that supports the orange-blossom theme - the biscuit nearly dissolving into sugar but reminding me of those Voortman rectangle waffle-y vanilla wafers with icing in the middle that I had as a kid. Maybe a hint of coconut here too. Also, I'm surprised there's no suede note listed here, as there's also something animalic & suede/leather-like underneath that reminds me of another scent by this house, Noir Toscane (although these are different overall), and was more noticeable in my first few testings but seems to have taken a backseat now. Tbh I didn't love this at first, too animalic, but now it seems in balance and I'm really loving it, with the suede giving it a modern twist and preventing it from being too sweet. Contrast to Love Don't be Shy By Kilian: These are different, but Arty Positano may have been inspired by Love Don't Be Shy, and there are similarities with a sweet and creamy orange-blossom with a touch of animalics in the base. Arty Positano has stronger animalics, and stronger performance than Love Don't Be Shy. Contrast to Neroli Portofino Tom Ford: There are very different, and there's only a fleeting similarity in the opening of Arty Positano. Neroli Portofino is cleaner, drier and all about neroli, while Arty Positano is creamy, sweet and all about orange-blossom with a touch of suede. Arty Positano has a stronger performance. Contrast to Guimauve Reminiscence: These are different, but there are similarities with sweet & creamy facets. Guimauve is more powdery and gives an impression of fresh marshmallow with almond and neroli, while Arty Positano is sweeter with more orange-citrus and the creaminess is closer to a melted marshmallow with an animalic touch in the base that's not present in Guimauve. Both have excellent performance but slightly better for Arty Positano. Overall: enjoyable orange-blossom that's sweet & creamy with some suede-y animalics in the base that need time to settle. Performance is quite good, as with the other scents from La Maison de la Vanille that I've tried. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

I received a small tester with an ELdO haul. I was quite pleasantly surprised and have kept coming back to this, which will officially the swiftest I’ve ever finished off a tester. I couldn’t help myself, this became one of my favorite vanillas. So much so, I had to pull the trigger on a full bottle while I’ve still got a few spritzes left in the little tester. I’d venture to guess the closest that I have to this presently is Ani by Nishane. It has that sort of Orange creamsicle vibe but there are some pretty noticeable differences. The full bottle 100 ml of this came in around 40 usd. If the full bottle performs on my skin as well as the tester has, well shoot... this may be classified as one of the very best buys for the bucks spent that I’ve purchased. Whenever I have this on and keep sniffing myself I can’t help but think “how could anyone not love this scent!?” While also being very well aware that not everyone would fancy this, or similar scents. It’s just extraordinarily pleasing to my nose.

Positano is a well hidden gem ! I'm happy to have dared to stop a kind French stranger on the street to ask what perfume she was wearing. The smell she was leaving behind was captivating. It starts very citrusy and fresh but then settle into something sensual and gourmand. The biscuit bottom note was unfamiliar to me until now and i finds it quite interesting. Fragrances from La Maison de la Vanille are no were to be found here in Montreal so i had to either take a flight ticket directly to Paris (not now but one day i will) or start looking on the internet. I ordered 5 samples from LMDLV over the internet and so glad i did ! All the perfumes of this house are a very nice discovery to make for the fragrances lovers out there ! It's like a trip to France every time you open a small bottle.

I absolutely love it. The lavender is mostly present in the first 20-30 minutes. Then it subsides and I'm left with a sweet orange blossom that is reminiscent of Kilian's Love don't be shy, though it's not as sweet. It's not a dupe but unless you hate lavender, there's no reason you wouldn't like this if you like LDBS. It's beautiful. I only sprayed it once on my wrist, it's been 6 hours and I still smell it on my skin, though it's mostly a skin scent. I found a 100ml tester bottle for 60$ CAD. An absolute steal!

A delightful blind buy (I also bought this to receive free shipping). This to my nose is milk & cookies & oranges. Super likeable, great performance and great price point. The price + the bottle (metal, not glass) makes this the perfect fragrance to travel with or keep in your purse.

I just got this recently as a blind buy, ofc. Even though I'm not a big fan of white flowers trend, this is absolutely delightful little gem: not too sweet, little bit green/fresh, not too strong. Perfect for spring/summer, and quite affordable.

Neroli Portofino meets a sweet pastry. This is very nice, has a classic seaside Italian traditional scent profile, but with a gourmand twist. I do think a man can pull this off, but it has a slight orange Creamsicle vibe as it dries down. Not really a summer scent, maybe spring or possibly those late spring nights as t-shirts start to come out. This is playful and young, in the line of Lolita Lempicka Green Lover or Paco Raban Ultra Red. This is a like for me, and glad to have it.

Verrrry soft, semisweet herbal gourmand. This is the most delicate fragrance I've encountered from this house. Some others stay all day so the lasting power seems to very widely between scents. Or my chemistry/biology just dosen't work well with this one, my skin seems to eat it up. It's charming, just wish it lasted longer on me.

I purchased this as a blind buy to get free shipping from a discount perfume website. It was not very expensive. I reviewed the notes and had watched a few reviews and thought this would be something I would like. I love orange/citrus and love sweet/vanilla scents. I remember watching a You Tube perfume reviewer once reviewing a different perfume and she had mentioned that she was intrigued by the biscuit note and when she wore the perfume, the biscuit note translated to an ashtray scent on her skin. I could not imagine what she meant...until I wore this perfume for the first time. That is what I get when I wear this...an ashtray smell. The citrus and vanilla, on my skin, take a backseat to this overwhelming ashtray/smoke smell. No big deal as it was not that expensive. I find even when not worn on skin, that note is still predominant to my nose.

This is a failed blind buy. If you want to smell like orange Fanta, this is for you, but it's not for me.

Very sweet version of Neroli Portofino which is a fancy copy of 4711...this is nice but nothing new. I think it's ok for an everyday scent, wearing jeans and a T shirt. Clean, relaxed, uncomplicated.
