Just Give Me Roses

Very rose forward fragrance. I am not sure what is causing this, but the musky woodiness in this smells ozonic to me, almost like chlorine in a swimming pool. I prefer Once Upon A Garden in this line for a flexible stemmy rose scent (but with some earth for grounding) or Let the Dance Begin for Rose+Patch for night out rose. I don't hate it, but I don't know how I would wear it or who would wear it. I have now tried everything from the line and think this and About That Night are my least favorites from the line. They are both fine scents and interesting, but not what I was expecting or wanting. My favorites are My Day, Invisible Touch, Let the Dance Begin and my 2nd favorites Once Upon A Garden and Villa Sorrento. Update1: The next day I smelled my blotter and it smelled divine. I guess it is intriguing because I don't think I own another scent with this curious note. Maybe it will grow on me. Update2: Okay, I guess I like it! I kept thinking about it. For some reason nothing I own smells anything like it. It's playful and positive and pretty, but not in a cheap teenage department-store trendy way or in an offensive way. I just went on a trip to a hot desert climate and now I'm wishing I had brought it along. I think the key is not to put your nose right on it and give it time to grow. And of course it has to fit your own personal desires and needs which apparently it does for me. I'm always looking for freshy, hot climate scents that are lasting and don't smell redundant and this fits the bill. It makes me feel like The Little Mermaid :-) Update 3: Yeah, so I have a full bottle on the way. It's a fresh aquatic/ozonic?? rose I have not found a duplicate for. Def not like anything else I own or have tried. I now have 4 bottles from this collection (My Day, Invisible Touch, and Possibilities ( though planning to sell this one) and on the hunt to get FB of Let the Dance Begin and probably Villa Sorrento too, if I can find a deal. I guess I officially love this house. When you know, you know!

This perfume is in the same genre profile of perfumes as Rose Oud - this is a very good formula, I like this one very much, it wore extremely well on my skin. This is not as sweet as Jo Malone's version of Rose Oud, it is slightly more sophisticated and a bit less sweet. This is very similar to one of my very favorite Avon perfumes which is called Velvet. This is different than Delina De Marly - they both share the rose aroma, however La Perla's rose perfume is slightly heavier, more syrupy. Delina seems a bit softer, more romantic with the sweet/sour dynamic going on. If you like Delina, you may also like this perfume -- Both could be worn by the same person on different days or possibly layered (you'd have to try it to make sure that it is a good blend with your chemistry).

This is my favourite rose perfume, even beating out Lattafa's Bade'e al Oud Amethyst and Radical Rose. It's a lovely heavy, spicy rose. Love the 'family tree' by @Lilacs&Lavender. For me, this little rose can definitely compete with its other illustrious relatives.

Just Give Me Roses is a rose-forward scent (obviously!) with a woody-amber accord that gives a nice oud-like effect. It is no match for the likes of Amouage Epic Woman for example, but it is a pleasant introductory "rose-oud" scent. JGMR opens with rose from initial spray, bolstered by some peppery spice. The saffron note gets the spicy-amber accord off to a good start, complementing the rose beautifully. As it develops, it becomes woody and smoky, which, alongside the amber, gives an oud-like effect. Dark and dry, it marries well with the jammy rose. It runs out of steam a little as it dries down, becoming slightly harsh and noticeably synthetic. This doesn't take from an overall decent scent, however. It fades to a slightly sweet, increasingly animalic and leathery skin scent. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. Perfectly unisex, this is a nice rose-oud scent featuring an unchallenging "oud" note. Best worn in cold weather. Not bad. 3/5.

I don't understand why there are so many dislikes, this is a very nice rose! Yes, synthetic, but just the way Delina doesn't smell natural, it is not always a bad thing. This smells to me like a sexier, but more elegant version of Delina. Or a much more bearable version of Perfumista Avenue (Bond No 9). It's slightly darker than Delina, saffron and pepper surround the rose well and make it voluptuous. This is, as the page describes, warm spicy, woody, musky rose. It becomes more resinous while it dries down. There is a jammy undertone like that one in Oud Satin Mood, just not so noticeable. Definitely modern, leans feminine. Really lovely, if you are not looking for a natural, garden rose. Update after few months, testing the sample again: The more similar perfumes I tested, the more they all blurred with one another and I feel like this accord is very overdone. Saffron is everywhere these days.
