L'Homme Lacoste

I’m editing this because I don’t think my initial review was sufficient. While I do feel this resembles coach for men, it by no means is the same scent. If anything it has the same overall feel - maybe the same base or something. Regardless, I hear everyone saying this isn’t anything new or exciting - and while, yes, I agree - it’s also the best of the genre. I agree that it falls into the same general category as sauvage, invictus, coach, Aqua Atlantic etc - but this does it way - way better. I promise you, if this had a Dior label - it would be the newest darling - “a much smoother, refined sauvage” - but, alas it is not. This will always be the forgotten sibling. Oh well - top notch release and better than the rest. Regardless of the note breakdown, this resembles coach’s newest release for men. While Lacoste isn’t as piercing, it definitely has a similarity. I find this one much more pleasant and smooth. I don’t smell rhubarb whatsoever - at least not the type of rhubarb I’ve smelled in other scents which feature the note. Instead, I get A warm, soapy citrus type smell. For people who enjoy invictus Aqua, coach for men and even sauvage - but are looking for something a little warmer and smoother than the previous three, I think this is a great option. 7/10

Amazing scent. Monster compliment getter...for like 15-30 mins. After that they’d practically have to be on you to smell it lol. It’s a really sweet creamy citrusy orange rhubarb scent. Just a touch of spice from the ginger and a faint woody background. Pretty linear scent. Great for summer as that would boost the performance a little bit. Lasts for about 3-4 hours on my skin and around 6 on clothes. Not too bad in terms of longevity, but the longevity and sillage is just almost none existent. Any age range can wear it, but I’d recommend it for someone younger rather than more mature. It’s got that very energetic active youthful vibe to it. Pretty much for any occasion in the warmer months, except for dressed up occasions. Great looking bottle. Overall rating: Scent - 10/10 Longevity - 5/10 Projection - 3/10 Sillage - 3/10 Compliments - 10/10 for the first 10 mins, then around 6/10 after that due to weak performance. Versatility - 6/10. Only works for warm weather, and DEFINITELY not for dressed up formal occasions. Presentation - 9/10 Overall rating - So hard to rate it cuz normally that performance it drag it down quite a bit. But I love this scent. To me it’s the perfect sweet citrusy orange scent. So imho I’m gonna give it a 7/10

I absolutely love the rhubarb/orange opening on this one. I wish it would stay longer. After 1/2 hour there's nothing left. Doesn't even dry down to anything I can detect. I'm puzzled about what others say it is like when it dries down, as those are fragrances I know and like. For me, just nothing. OK, then I spray on a whole lot more than I normally would, and several times. Seems to still disappear rapidly, and nobody notices it. However, puzzlingly, many hours later, like when I wake up the next morning, there's a slight remnant of it that lingers, that is sweet and nice, but that I didn't notice until then. And that's after some 10-12 sprays. Puzzling performance on my skin, obviously. Later update: Alright, ok, if I follow a different pattern than I normally do, it is not that bad. See, with most fragrances I like, I spray mainly on the trunk of my body, under my shirt, and I like how they interact with my skin and it is noticeable for others. But with something like this fragrance, that doesn't work at all. I have to put it all on the outside, several sprays on my neck and on my wrists, let some of it end up on my shirt, etc. Still not long lasting, but at least it is noticeable.

I get a powderyness from the almond, vanilla, and musk, that mixed with the cedar and citrus gives it an overall early formulation Dior Homme vibe. This is softer and weaker than Dior Homme 2011, and a more airy type of fragrance. You do need to go heavy with the sprayer (3-4x more) if you’re looking to get the same impact as something like Sauvage, although I do find Lacoste L’Homme to have decent noticeable 5hours+ longevity on fabric. Similar in to The One edt, but L’Homme has a little more style and more going on. It’s kinda like they took The One with its amber citrus vibe and added a powdery vanilla/almond note with more woods. This has its place if you’re looking for a versatile fragrance that’s soft and warm but not overpowering. Probably a perfect 1st date scent because it doesn’t have any harsh edges, it’s inoffensive yet more complex then The One, isn’t gonna burn anyone’s nose if they get too close, and by the time it starts wearing off you should be getting close up with your date.

I absolutely love this one! Grabbed this 100ml for a decent price at a Marshall's. One of the first colognes I bought actually getting into the frag community. After I got it before really giving it a just due wearing, I almost regretted getting it. Everyone online minus maybe Gent Scents was bashing it. So I gave it a test drive to see for myself. What did I find? Yeah. It's awesome. The rhubarb is prominent and makes this one stand out from other colognes but not in any offensive way. You aren't going to get beast mode performance. You will get a solid 4-6 hours of scent from it. I did 4 sprays at 2pm and was still smelling it at 830, but just barely. This will get you compliments though. Maybe not to the extent of something like a Sauvage, but you'll get noticed. Signature scent worthy! I'm still baffled that I heard on YouTube that this is nothing special and not unique. Bull, it most certainly is. So worth getting for the price!

Nose Note #640 It fits in the tetralogy - DG The One, YSL L'Homme, Boss Orange for Men, Lacoste L'Homme. They are all different, but are somewhat similar - an enigmatic scent with citrus or ginger, a little spicy and ambery, mildly sweet. When you smell them, you can't really pick the scent apart, it's just "a perfume". Translates a very nice sense of masculinity. Not harsh, not overly sweet, not feminine, not unisex, just manly. Not a classical mens fougere, it's modern. This to me is in par with YSL, better than Orange, but The One is a clear winner. They all are average performers. Upd.: I'm changing the performance vote to "weak". 1-2 hours is really what you get. After 2 hours you can barely smell it. And also the way I'd describe it - it's like a precursor to Louis Vuitton Afternoon Swim, but not quite, obviously. It's a similar sweet and light citrus scent. Not greatly masculine. 8/10, great and has nice complexity

This is my kind of citrus! When you're tired of bergamot or lemon as your perfume's top note this is a good respite, or shall I say good sanctuary. I just simply love this scent. For once, nobody is influencing me to buy this fragrance. I just recently stopped watching youtube recommendations/shill workers for a break, or maybe better for good. Just a chance encounter in a perfume shop when the salesman sprayed something on my forearm and it smelled f**kin good at first whiff. What did you just sprayed on me? It just smelled good, man. Another laid back, silent assassin scent that knows its own strength and doesn't need to scream at the top of the world just to be noticed. 8.7/10

L'homme de Lacoste is a citrus, spicy, ambery and woody fragrance. Its opening is pleasant, it is citric like the smell of a tangerine, accompanied with the spice of ginger. Minutes later, the aroma of woody notes and a kind of amber increases and it does not change again until more. L'Homme is a fragrance with a pleasant aroma, very good to be used for office work and casual outings. Its duration is regular between 5 to 6 hours. low sillage. Probably this fragrance is a more mature proposal than Lacoste has accustomed us to, and although it is not very original (remember some between The One D&G and Boss Orange for Men), it is pleasant.

This one’s an uncrowned king on a budget, in my opinion. I got this for maybe £25 and it’s done me very well for quite a while. It’s a citrusy and woody fragrance with quite a fresh mandarin smell at first, transitioning to a softer woody vanilla after the dry down. It’s quite a refreshing, summer-based, easy to wear scent. The projection and longevity are pretty average but the smell is absolute awesome. I have to say, Lacoste L’Homme is criminally underrated and an insane daily to have during the summer, for a price that will make your wallet feel as good as you do when wearing it.

I really like this one ! OK its never going to be my favourite but there's something here that keeps me spraying it.Others have said it and i agree that its Lacoste's version of D&G's 'The One' with orange at the opening. Nice dose of ginger and a hint of rhubarb.Extremely versatile,almost every season apart from summer and every occasion day or night but i'm sticking to Autumn as its perfect fit. Got a huge 150ml bottle for £30. Great value and a good release from a so-so house. lasts 6/7 hours and decent projection for 2 hours.

I love it as an excellent summer fragrance and bought many 150 ml bottles of it. I was lucky to get authentic German old batches. My brother bought me a newer French one. I compared both and both were macerated for the same time even more for the French one. Big difference in favor of old German one. It's more powerful in all aspects specially longevity and projection. May be they did that to make people buy the intense version. But in my opinion, The old original German one smells better than the intense.

Lacoste is a consistent deliverer that provides everyday scents. They're usually light, traditionally masculine, modern French and a bit sporty. Lacoste L'homme is no different. On my skin, it's got a very brief very beautiful orange flower opening. Smooth and soft. That develops in minutes into a heavy lemony gingery cypriol oil which I love. 6 sprays for the office gets me 4 hours. I had the intense and would pick this over that. A keeper!

This is one of the best fragrance in my collection. I'm lucky to get 6 hours of longevity with 2 hours of projection out of this fragrance. Very sweet and pleasant smell. All i can give is 10/10 ratings because it smells really good. Can wear this at any time and anywhere. My bottle was made in Germany. Some people say their bottle was made in UK. Got any different in performance? Anyway, the scent is seductive.

That Rhubarb note raised me an eyebrow. I didn't wanna smell like the dry market or some sorta vegetable stew. But I was wrong. This is a spicy, slightly metallic, modern fragrance that shines in casual wear. I didn't know what a unique yet mass appealing fragrance would smell like it, but I think this is great example of it. And don't even get me started on the price.

oh yeah! after trying a sample first some months ago, i wasn't blown away. but the memory of the scent still lingered in my head and when i tried it a second time i was lost/found! pure summer in a bottle! soothing and refreshing at the same time. a great substitute amongst all the winter-based heavyweighters!

This is my favorite of the scents my partner wears. It's not overwhelming and you really only smell it when you are super close. It's refreshing and not overly musky/woody for an everyday scent. The black pepper is unique enough to stand out. It's a good smell to wear when going out to eat.

I'm very surprised with this Lacoste release. Very nice citrusy- sweet - fruity combination. In the dry down you can feel the woods (kid of). I can still feeling it after hours, and projection is rather decent. I am enjoying it a lot.

At the first spray I was blown away by this scent. It's sweet, the opening with the rhubarb is great. It settles down after a while and still is wearable but I don't think that this is a beast or good projection scent. Still 7/10

Very pleasant, yet very energetic. It has a little twist of notes, which makes it a bit more unique to the most recent releases, really like the Quince mix with Almond and other citruses. Good, above average performance.

Fantastic fragrance. Super versatile, complements getter. Very modern, clean/ fresh, pleasant for any occasion. Juicy orange ginger pleasant scent, Perfect for office or casual wears. Performance is average.
