Match Point

I really like this fragrance. Criminally low-rated, I'd say. A beautifully-composed, natural yet sweet, vetiver scent. I decided to try this since I already own Match Point Cologne, one of my all-time favorite freshies, which enjoys a 4.18 Fragrantica rating — totally deserved — but for some reason, this EDT sits at 3.61. I think that's ridiculous. This EDT is at least as good as Match Point Cologne – just slightly more green and grassy, slightly less bright and fruity, a bit less sharp and punchy in the top notes... which I think makes it smoother and more versatile. It basically swaps the rhubarb and mandarin for sage and vetiver. The nicely-blended vetiver note comes out progressively as it moves into the mids. Performance is pretty good for an EDT, especially considering how fresh it is. Overall, I see this as a slightly sweeter, more mass-appealing take on something like Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver... which is not a bad thing! It's a very pleasant, green-leaning, natural-smelling freshie, at a budget price. I can see myself reaching for this a lot in spring / summer.

I tested and wore many lacoste fragrances over the years, mainly for sport or casual situations when wearing a higher class fragrance is inadequate. This release is by fare the best of the lacoste fragrance line. It's truly a masterpiece, it is so good that It has become no my new signature scent for spring/summer time sport and office. It's perfectly versatile and the dry done is top tier. Don't stop at the first spray cause the beginning is little bit strange but after a few minutes you start to smell the beautiful dry down. Last and not the least, it's not weak like the majority of their previous releases. It performs quite well. 3/4 sprays and you are good for up to 6 hours which is respectable for most situations Good job

This is a fruity floral green fragrance with a touch of sweetness to begin with. There is a strong green apple note, apparently they didnt feel the need to list it. Geranium gives it a unisex floral backbone. An hour in it gets woodsy and then that fades and it becomes a musky fresh version of the opening. The comparisons to CK Eternity EDP are accurate except that this has a a different more modern base. Performance was outstanding for a designer cheapie, 6 hours easy and I was getting whiffs at the 8 hour mark.

If you’re a fan of the original Guerlain Homme like I am (clear bottle Silver front plate with the guerlain insignia) you’re going to fall in love with this. Great warm weather sport driven, active, or workout fragrance. Simple vibrant and easy to pull off and I really admire Lacoste for releasing a fragrance with potential to be an easy reach workhorse. Not every fragrance needs to set off my neighbors C02 sensors for silage or nuclear performance.

I really love Lacoste Match Point because it has a fresh, energetic scent that feels clean, modern, and easy to wear. The mix of citrus, green notes, and woods gives it a sporty character that always feels uplifting and well put together. I find it versatile enough for everyday wear, and it consistently smells smooth and crowd-pleasing on my skin. Overall, I think Match Point is an excellent fragrance that delivers great style and value.

You remember in one of the weddings or any type of social gathering how that filthy rich uncle was smelling but you couldn't ask or he didn't tell you? Believe me, this is that shitt. Stupidly fresh and mass appealing with that little bit of mature sweet green touch. This stuff is damn good. Quality is also right up there. Absolutely no longevity like hardly 3 hours on my skin but smells like mass appealing modern fruity green fragrance.

From all Lacoste fragrances collection I have for men ‘this is the one I like de most ! So refreshing clean sparkling fragrance . Every time I wear this I get the feeling of I’m the cleanest man. This juice is good for every day wear, office ,casual work environment, wear this with confidence you won’t offend anybody with this great Lacoste gem

The perfect, inoffensive true Vetiver/barber shop scent. Definitely mature. I like how it doesn’t add oceanic and ozone, almost apologizing for being green, like most modern gym scents. Great default every day scent if you want to be simple. Great starter green before jumping up to H24. Simply well done.

This is so slept on. It's not talked about a lot from reviewers but it should be. This is such a beautiful green, spicy, and fresh fragrance for spring, summer and early fall. When I put this on it has such a beautiful fresh feel. I don't know how many times I have to keep sniffing my arm.

i wanted to like this but idk dude it just smells kinda weird, like sour. it doesnt smell bad but i just do not want to smell like it. irrelevant but i met a fine shyt at the gym and i was wearing this and i just felt like she was thinking i smelled weird

This is Wimbledon in a bottle (apart from the strawberries). From the smell of freshly cut grass in the morning to the tennis-inspired bottle. Fresh, green, uplifting. Perfect for work and for spring/summer/early fall.

Irish Spring deoderant, a fresh tube of tennis balls, a windowsill herb garden, a sprawling golf course. Super fresh, a bit sweet and sporty- looove this scent on my bf, perfect everyday gym scent.

Bought a bottle of Match Point body spray on clearance at Marshalls and was surprised how much I liked this scent. Months later I found a bottle of EDT on the cheap online and decided to add to my collection. I know that its not the best received scent but I must have a generic nose because this is a great scent for me and I like it very much more than any of you guys seem to. Reminds me of a more musky Eternity type fragrance from the late 90's with a modern twist. I feel if you mixed some Light Blue Forever into an Eternity bottle you would have something similar. It does not change much from start to finish. Right away I get musky grapefruit that is tamed down with basil and soft pepper notes. Turns green from here with geranium, light sage and almost a irish spring soapy floral musk. Then is surrounded by a very smooth clean vetiver that with a touch of cashmeran that has a warmth to it that is unique for such a fresh green scent. I smell no pine or woods at all in this. Smells mature clean and I could see how younger people would find it too mature. For me its a great find and will surely get worn this spring and summer. Could be worn in cool weather as well. Great for office or daytime events. Seems to be a good projector and lasts about 6-8 hours on skin. Solid green frangrance 7.5/10

Match Point by Lacoste is a woody, herbal and green fragrance. Its opening is quite fresh, it smells of grass or garden grass, probably citrus and basil, in this phase it is very bright and stimulating, I liked it a lot. After a few minutes the citrus disappears but the herbal notes remain with a wood base. This fragrance has been a surprise for me, because it goes in the opposite direction to some trends in current fragrance launches, let's say sweet and spicy, blue or iris. In my case it reminds me a little of Eternity (the EDP) or Truth, both by Calvin Klein, in which green notes predominate like recently pruned or watered gardens. Because of its herbal notes, I like it to be used in spring, summer and autumn, for casual, sport use and I would say for any situation where you want to feel that feeling of country freshness. Longevity greater than 8 hours. with me and regular sillage.

Don't get the hate on this one. Definetly doesn't deserve the current 3.63 score. While nothing is groundbreaking here, the fragrance itself has enough character and stays very much in line with Lacoste's "sporty elegance" identity and you can do way worse than Match Point for its price tag. Performance is on par with every other Lacoste fragrance which is average, but the scent is pretty good for a summer casual outing, will get you compliments for sure. I got more than once wearing it. While Lacoste White and Essential are their S tier offerings for me, Match Point beats even some other Lacoste fragrances in terms of being affordable and pleasant enough to warrant a spot in my summer rotation.

it's very good actually. it stands out. after smelling 6 other new edt's at notino today, this release is something different. almost brave by todays standards. green, fresh but deep. a new classic? well, do we have even the audience for that nowadays? a crowd pleaser? maybe. a compliment getter? with so many mainstream "blues" and "millions" in game, i doubt it. but anyway, good job lacoste. 8/10 soundtrack: vladimir cosma - le jouet ost.

I love this. I don't get how people can't appreciate a good aromatic/fougere but cream their pants for the most basic of blue scent. To me this is just Calvin Klein Eternity with the soapyness removed and swapped for vetiver. Definitely worth a sniff of them both if you're bored of the endless sea of blue fragrances

Opens up fresh spicy, grapefruit and pink pepper will take the lead for the first minutes, before a powdery dry down from the geranium kicks in and a soft woody cashmere will appear in the background. Sporty and casual, definitely unisex in my opinion. Softer and soapier than usual citrus-freshies. Really nice!
