Suspense

This Lancetti vintage is one of the most complex perfumes ever!! I looked all the notes up in one of my vintage books, here it goes: - Bergamot - Mandarin - Pineapple - Narcissus - Galbanum - Peach - Gardenia - Lemon - Jasmin - Tuberose - Cyclamen - Rose - Lily of the Valley - Orchid - Ylang-ylang - Lotus - Iris - Cedar - Amber - Sandalwood - Honey - Musk - Vanille - Vetiver - Tonkabean The perfume in total gives the feeling of a very complex green chypre in the manner of a very strong Silences.

Wow, this scent really is like two perfumes in one. It does remind me of both Silences and Safari. A big win since I love both scents equally. Silage is nice as is longevity. A blind buy I snagged for a great price too. I couldn't be happier.

The twin to this perfume is Lilith by Callaghan new version, available in online stores. The vintage Lilith is more sweet and less green. Although the vintage is a masterpiece, I wouldn't consider that one to be the twin of Suspense.

This is a must have for green perfume lovers. It has exquisite sillage and is remarkable it it ́s style. You green queens cannot do without this one!! Action

And it has a lot in common with Safari as well!

Mi ricorda Magie Noire di lancome. Naturalmente è più buono Magie noire, anche se condivide la nota vellutata e blu,il miele, i fiori opulenti e il muschio di base.

A recent Fragrantica article on Vintage Underdogs brought me to Suspense. I had not heard of it, and I haven't heard of Lancetti either. My box of Suspense says it's part of Schiaparelli Italy! And I do love Schiaparelli! (I have a stockpile of Shocking) Between the article, reviews, and comparisons to Safari and Silences, I knew I had to have this (blind buy). I LOVE THIS! YES-- it's a perfect meshing of Silences and Safari! Starts out close to Silences and then gets closer to Safari. I love galbanium-- and I love this! WIN! It's similar enough to Safari that unless you love/collect vintages or galbanium perfumes, you really don't need this. I am glad I bought it however. ;) Yep, my one spray tissue test is ALL Safari now (3 hours later) but one squirt has wonderful potency/lasting power. But this really isn't worth hunting down/paying vintage prices because it is Safari pretty much.

Honeyed galbanum with cresolic narcissus and a hint of styrax is Suspense in a nutshell, and it's tasty. It opens as many green chypres do, with all of the stemmy, leafy, bitter greenness but we soon realize this is a variation on a theme, as the florals seem glazed with honey, amber, and tonka—glazed, not drenched, mind you. Suspense evolves, which is why it is aptly named; this crescendo of sweet green florals over time sheers out to a woody, mossy greenness with that chewy styrax joined by hints of vanilla and tonka. I've always been a fan of the juxtaposition between green and sweet (Must de Cartier, Krazy Krizia, Guerlain Angelique Noire), so this is a winner in my book, and a great springtime mood lifter. I'm impressed with how many from Lancetti really deliver...

I agree with Action - Suspense is a stunning green scent, not to be missed for lovers of this genre. Sappy, crunchy and resinous, it captures all moods of green. When the honey, amber and tonkabean all harmonize, its edges soften some but soon, inevitably it shifts back to green, tinted with aquatic, herbal, woody, and earthy tones. Never boring, ever evolving.

I wore it! It s really similar to Safari, in the shop tell me that. I wore Safari too ... but Suspense is more natural, Safari smells to sticker... Suspense is a great fragance, saddly discontinued in my country ...
