Ameer Al Oud 2

Ameer Al Oudh 2 has quite a strong medicinal oud/rose opening. It quite quickly begins to dry down though where the rose softens somewhat and the raspberry makes its appearance to balance and make it a floral fruity. The rose and oud are still the main players though. The oud is definitely medicinal in nature and the rose is somewhat in the vein of chypre on me but balanced and sweetened very lightly by the fruity aspects. As it dries down the oud comes up a little stronger together with the woody musky aspect and a clear and present undercurrent of rose that works in a complimentary and harmonious manner with the rest of the notes. The oud being the more prominent but by no means overpowering of these. It’s quite a pleasant experience to be honest and as with the rest of the Lataffa fragrances is of a good quality. As the dry down progresses throughout the day the rose softens further into the background although not entirely extinguishing and the oud remaining more strongly, taking on a slight smokey incense aspect towards the end of the dry down. The scent lasts 6 or so hours and has solid projection. Best from spring to autumn. It could still be worn in winter but likely not as long lasting. The solid presence of oud and light woods in the base balances out the rose and I feel makes the fragrance comfortably unisex to wear.
