Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition

This seems to be an Asad sleeper. I'm not sure how this got by a lot of people but it doesn't smell like the original Zanzibar. So maybe it got overlooked because people thought it was just a stronger version of that. THERE IS ZERO COCONUT SCENT HERE. It's fresh yet spicy and slightly sweet. The initial spray will supply the aquatics which do subside somewhat, especially if you go beyond 2 sprays (imo). Spices are there in the beginning too. Then it gets into the slightly sweet, spicy woods as marine scent relaxes some. It just conveys a nice clean/fresh aura that comes across very masculine due to the woods profile. The sweet smell isn't candy or gourmand like, to me, but it's there faintly. I might even compare it to being fresh like how a menthol mint candy (the clear blue ones) might be, just with a warm spice touch. I'm looking forward to wearing this, especially to the gym. I may need to get a spare bottle to save up if I really wear it that much. There are a lot of shower gels that can go with this. That's always been one of my "hacks" to try and get something as a body wash that matches the scent I'll wear in some way to improve the overall profile. I might come back if I find a really good match but I don't think it'll be so specific. Compared to me having to specifically find Axe Dark Temptation for The One EDT.

It's a nice fragrance that does its job - clean, not overpowering and safe. I can smell Invictus DNA in here for sure, so scent wise it's very clean and aquatic. My initial spray was this very strong lavender note but it faded away quickly and you can really smell that Invictus EDT profile shortly after. Performance wise it's not overly strong and doesn't last so much either, only about 1-2 hours of a noticeable scent trail and becomes a skin scent for the next 6-ish hours. Regardless this is pretty good for the price ($40 AUD) and honestly has a fair quality/resemblance to Invictus. Of course there are other clones such as Rasasi Hawas that are beast mode performance but if you want a fragrance that's very clean and actually not widely known (as the original Zanzibar would have turned heads away from this limited edition version which smells completely different) definitely try this. It's great for all occasions and can be worn all year round. 8/10

Disclaimer: This is my first review on Fragrantica. Just got this in the mail today. Blind bought. I can already tell it’s going to be a crowd pleaser. I own OG Asad and Bourbon and those are very well received. Bourbon especially. Wanted to buy Zanzibar, but my lady didn’t like it. When I heard LE was much improved, I had to try it. Reminds me of the Invictus/Rasasi Hawas DNA; however, does not have the synthetic smell of Hawas. It’s a playful fruity bubblegum. I usually go for the cheaper alternatives, and enjoy trying different layer combos. As I write this review, I’m wearing Zanzibar LE and Nautica Midnight Voyage. Absolutely Amazing! Overall: Inexpensive, Loud, Sexy, Youthful. My rating: 8.3/10.

Saw this today at Ross for $20 and thought it was the original Zanzibar. Saw Limited Edition and decided to look it up. With colognes, sometimes limited edition means something completely different and I'm glad this was the case here. I got burned with the original Zanzibar last year. Absolutely disgusting. This is like fresh clean laundry detergent or shower gel right out of the gate. This will be one of my go-tos this summer for sure. Thinking about layering this with something else because there's nothing but soap, marine, and lavender coming through. I don't get any cinnamon or tonka. But I think I know a few things that will compliment this fragrance nicely. Excellent value and wonderful scent.

Nose Note #937 I can't be bothered to go into details on this. To me all the Invictus flankers and Invictus dupes and are very similar (besides Absolu and some other one). This is just like Hawas, Hawas Ice, Hayaati. Except the longevity is closer to Rasasi, but not quite as strong. Otherwise - practically the same easy stuff. The most ground level mens perfume one could imagine. Everyone enjoys this. It would make for a good gift but just keep in mind the age bracket, this is better suited for younger audience, at least below 30 Men only. Strong. Great sillage for the first 30min-1 hour, then it's medium. 7.8/10, great, but I don't enjoy Invictus as much

I just got this fragrance, and it’s incredible! It’s exactly as described in the accords on this page. The opening is fresh and clean, with an aromatic blue marine note that’s noticeable. It’s not too marine (no zestiness or saltiness) and not too soapy (no deodorant vibe). It’s perfectly balanced. In my opinion, it’s quite different from what people are voting for, which is similar to Invitus and Hawas DNA. I think it’s a bit too far from both. This one is like Azzaro Chrome Extreme, but more soapy and clean. If you’re into this category, this is definitely a safe buy. It’s versatile and can be worn during a summer or spring day.

This one got me the most compliments. The smell is like invictus parfum like 80% and 20% aqua. When i smelled it i said it's another hawas. Boy i was wrong. This has one of the best soap I've ever smelled. It's clean fresh aquatic and less sweet than hawas / ice. I thought it's an ok fragrance but it got me the most complements sometimes 5 times a day . This is the best lattafa asad for sure since i tried them. Longivity/ performance is Beast mode. You will be smelling the best and cleanest with a touch of luxury

First impression on a freshly opened bottle. Five sprays. Pretty strong stuff. It's light but deep at the same time. Big soap note with the typical clean laundry/ fabric softener vibe you get from Invictus. A tinge of marine ambroxan... not really getting much of anything else. Sprayed some on a paper towel and left in a room so when I walk in later I can smell it in the air. We will see... Will revise this review once it matures for about 2-3 weeks.

This stuff is a beast. Very similar to Invictus Parfum. It's very well blended, with a great opening. It projects very well, and lasts forever. The original Zanzibar was a major disappointment, but this is a great addition to the Asad line. Honestly, if you don't have any of them, I would recommend just getting this and Asad Elixir, because they are very different to each other, and and far superior to the rest of the line.

Lovely scent! Ive sorta blind bought this since i have smelt the invictus parfum, and i always wanted that scent. When this came out i knew i had to get my hands on this. Its developing pretty well, i dont know about the 12 hours of longevity that some people are claiming but it will last you a good 6 hours at least! Very good clone of invictus parfum, especially for the 30$ i paid.

I've been the front runner for this fragrance. So many never gave it a chance thinking it was just like the regular Zanzibar. It's nothing like it. This stuff is outstanding. And even with those that they say it reminds them of, its still different from those as well. It truly is It's own thing and it's amazing! Can't wait for summer, this is gonna dominate

I do not get why people saying this is more suitable for day wear. It’s very strong, unique, bold, and spicy that is softened by a powdery note. I don’t know why, but to me it seems like a clubby version of The Dreamer by Versace. I can smell it on clothing/jackets days after I’ve worn it. I love it and I’m glad people are sleeping on it.

Very nice strong freshy, nothing like the OG, This one is blue and soapy, somewhat sweet with masculine florals. People are like this is a freshy that is typical but it's absolutely not. This is beautiful and unique to me. I have a lot of freshies and this smells totally different than any of them, absolutely fantastic!

Soapy, fresh and clean - a perfect summer fragrance. It smells amazing and is my favorite from Lattafa. The lavender note is especially beautiful and drives me crazy in the best possible way. The performance is incredible: long-lasting with strong sillage. 100/10

I Have the Asad Elixir and Asad Bourbon. Now Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition joins the family. This is by far my favourite all of the three. Fresh, masculine, slighly sweet and great everyday type of fragrance. Super underrated and a great blind buy.

Very fresh everyday wear. Much more impressive than the original Zanzibar. GREAT value since I find it better than majority of fresh designer fragrances. Very safe blind buy but you should still try it if available at fragrance shop.

Impressive frag (a lot like Inv Parf), but very odd label and marketing, which could hurt it. Strongly recommended though - had it for nearly a month and it's excellent value. Nothing like orig Zanzibar.

Clean and sweet scent that you will get noseblind in 10 minutes, but dont worry the scent stays with you the whole day, like that kid who follows you because he thinks you are the cool uncle.

Did not expect it to be this good. Great blind buy and will be getting a second bottle when done.

I'm honestly still not sure whether I actually got the Limited Edition or just the original Zanzibar in a Limited Edition bottle. The bottle and the box are both from the Limited Edition, and every QR code takes me to the official website, so visually everything checks out. But based on the scent itself, especially the notes I'm picking up, it feels much closer to the original Zanzibar than what I'd expect from the Limited Edition. On the first few sprays, I got a fresh aquatic opening with a slightly salty, beach-like feeling. After wearing it for a few days, a much sweeter and more sensual spiciness started to stand out, almost like a bubblegum-style pink pepper accord. The dry-down was the biggest surprise. I couldn't detect any noticeable woody notes at all, despite what the limited note pyramid suggests. I let the fragrance macerate for a while, and over time the dry-down became a creamy, high-quality soap scent, like an expensive moisturizing bar soap. To my nose, this isn't a particularly masculine or mature fragrance. I also couldn't find the rich amber character that many people mention. What I consistently smell is salty sea air, pink pepper, and creamy soap. It actually reminds me a little of Le Male Le Parfum. Both fragrances share notes like lavender, iris, and vanilla, and both lean toward a smooth, highly unisex style. The only thing I can't criticize is the performance. This stuff projects like crazy and lasts for days on my skin—which is kind of ironic, because that usually only happens with fragrances that don't end up being my favorites (lol). This fragrance is perfect to give to someone under 22, or even to a teenager, because it absolutely radiates youthfulness. There's nothing particularly mature or traditionally masculine about it. Personally, it wasn't for me. It smells good, but it just doesn't fit my style. I can easily picture a guy wearing light-colored summer clothes by the beach, or simply a tank top on a scorching hot day. Overall, if you enjoy this scent profile, the EDP concentration is definitely a huge plus. That said, I'm still wondering whether my bottle truly matches the Limited Edition formula. Everything about the packaging appears authentic, but the scent profile I experience is much closer to what people describe as the original Zanzibar. 5/10

I really like this scent. It's very fresh and blue, but there's a creaminess to it. The soap and cashmere really come through to me, but there is still a very soft spiciness and warmness from the peppers and the cinnamon. I think it's great for summer nights especially, but I still like it during the day. It does smell kinda synthetic, but it's not necessarily that bad. Some days it smells more sythentic, other days it doesn't that synthetic at all - but for the most part that syntheticness is pretty much just in the opening. I think it's quite well blended and it's been surprising me every time I wear it as I notice new notes. It projects quite far - I've been told that I could be smelled from the other side of the room. But that projection doesn't last past the first hour I think. After that, it kinda just becomes your scent bubble and then becomes a skin scent after hour 2 or 3 maybe. But I can't accurately say as this is really the perfume that makes me go nose blind quick. I will also say, this probably doesn't matter to most, but this bottle feels really really cheap and doesn't do justice to the scent.

This is quite different from the regular Zanzibar release. I hadn’t seen or heard much about it before, so when I spotted it for $20 at my local rack store, I pulled up this page's notes to check it out. What I read convinced me to grab it. Performance-wise, this is a solid clone of Invictus Parfum. I’m not crazy about the bottle design, but the scent itself seems perfect for warmer weather. My bottle could probably benefit from some time to mature, but even straight out of the box it smelled great and lasted around 6 hours. Considering Invictus Parfum goes for about $80, I’ll happily take the win here and spray heavily all summer.

I almost forgot I had this, I was possibly still cautious after how bad the original version was. Thankfully I reached for this bottle a few days ago and was immediately complimented by the next three ladies I met! This is what the original should have been! Clean, fresh, bright with a slight sun cream vibe. Performance is decent for a warm weather fragrance, giving me about 5 hours in a hot vehicle. Like all the others in the Asad range (except the original Zanzibar), the price is great and it's easy to recommend.

I didn’t get the original but this is definitely a great cologne. I mean I have a very simple nose I guess but all I can smell is lavender and some musk for like 14 hours on skin and you have to was this out of your clothes. I think my girlfriend likes it I asked and she just said I smelled like lavender laundry detergent so I guess that’s good. Great value great everyday scent for the summer.

This should be Lattafa Zanzibar OG. It smells great — clean, fresh, with a hint of Invictus-like sweetness in the DNA. Perfect for spring and summer. The performance is strong for the first 2 hours with noticeable projection, then it settles into a skin scent for up to 5–6 hours. A safe blind buy as well.

I got this recently. I've been using it this winter at the gym. Its pretty good for this purpose considering the price. I actually didnt even know this was the limited edition even though I watch fragrance reviews. As such I was confused why everyone was hating on the OG.

This does remind me of Hawas and Invictus, like others have pointed out. It’s good, not great, nothing special. For $20 it’s not a bad buy though. 7/10.

I don't get marine notes or I am not able to recognise them in this perfume. The soapy notes is what it stands out. Aromatic clean not fresh clean.

Lattafa Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition: A textbook crowd-pleaser. It’s fresh, it’s clean, it’s blue. Just like dozens of other fragrances on the shelf. And that is exactly its problem. Sure, it’s fresh and yes, it projects well enough, but after the first 10 minutes, you’ve already read the whole story. There is zero mystery here. No depth, no "edge," no soul. Put 10 generic blue fragrances to a blind test and I bet nobody could pick Asad Zanzibar LE out of the lineup. It’s like a beige wall: you see it everywhere, it doesn't offend anyone, but it certainly doesn't inspire anyone either. Some might say that the OG Zanzibar needs to be discontinued because of its polarizing nature, but I think that one is far more special. It has that raw edge which some will love and some will hate. But hey... no friction, no gloss, right? Give me the challenge of the original over this safe, "limited" boredom any day.

When I first bought this cologne I wasn’t expecting it to smell like “Double Bubble”. (Please look that up) If that is what you want to smell like. Then buy this cologne. If not don’t. I’d say for me, it comes off gourmand bc of that. As far as sweetness, it leans sweet but not too much. I have to say that this is not a summer fragrance. The feel of this cologne is in the warmer side. Do I wear this often? Yeah but usually in my home. When I get a whiff of it I mutter to my self. “Bubble gum” 🥰. Double bubble was often found in my family get togethers so it bring me back to when I was a kid and why I like it so much. But had I known it would have smelled like that, I would have passed.

So many compare this to Invictus or Hawas but to my nose while it has similarities, it’s pretty much doing its own thing. Initially this opens quite nice & fresh, but further into the dry down this becomes slightly nauseating with vibes of Lattafa Hayaati & even Lattafa Bourbon to me, both of which I dislike. Longevity is around 6hrs with moderate projection for around 2hrs. It’s not a remarkable frag, its very synthetic smelling, it’s ok, but not something I smell & think Wow I need to grab another bottle of this to put away, which I always do if I like a new frag. I’m not really picking up any note in particular, it’s warm & creamy smelling which I suspect comes from the Sandalwood & Cinnamon but hard for me to actually define. Update: After a couple of wears I honestly don’t like this, it reminds me too much of Hayaati into the dry down & is somewhat nauseating, shame as the opening isn’t bad, just something about it I just don’t enjoy so I’ll most likely be moving this on.

The Asad line has gone 0/3 with Bourbon, OG and now Zanzibar LE. (For me I know most ASAD are well liked by the community) Super synthetic soap. Smells like the cheapest soap you can find with a crappy overdose of pink pepper and Lavender. I wish it leaned more into the marine and cinnamon notes to be more unique but unfortunately this ain't it. I feel like marwa, bubble bath, and prada l'homme already fill that soapy fragrance hole but much better.

Save your money, just get Hawas. This is going back tomorrow.

This one is a nice easy friendly shower gel / soap scent with a marine opening that isn’t eggy like some that use the calone ingredient. Soap in the heart stays throughout giving it more of a blue vibe. Ends with an amber base with a touch of creaminess from the Tonka and sandalwood. In the fresh bottle the black soap note be kind of sticks to the heart, but with about a month maturation the soap sticks throughout coming in much earlier and staying through the dry down. Still pushes as more than a skin scent and can be smelled in the air 8 hours in so good for office use along with being inoffensive. The star is the black soap note, so this is as versatile as soap. Every day, season, indoors- maybe just not for highest summer outdoor heat, but air conditioned environment. This is nothing like regular Asad Zanzibar and the only difference on the bottle is the emblem. They are releasing an asad sampler set that includes this and on that smaller bottle it does specify Limited Edition, but on the full bottle it still says “asad Zanzibar” with “limited edition” only on the emblem. It is inspired by Invictus Parfum with a base slightly closer to Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. The marine opening also reminded me of Aqva Atlantiqve if the ambroxan was replaced with soap. Overall a good clean easy to wear soapy blue fragrance that is more office friendly than Dylan Blue as it doesn’t have ambroxan. Nothing at all like Asad Zanzibar.

I initially left this review for the normal Zanzibar, but then I figured out that I have the Limited Edition instead. I kinda blind buy 70-80% of the frags I own cause I like the excitement. When I don't like a frag, I usually gift it to my parents. Then when I get back to my hometown, I revisit those fragrances to see if they changed up a little. That's what I did with this one as well, what I can tell you is: - Without letting it sit for a few months, this fragrance will smell like milk and sunscreen combined with random ingredients (it's really weird) - After a few months, you will get a very pleasant and unique coconut water/soap like fragrance - Most people advertise this to be a summer fragrance, it's too cloying in hot weather imo, I advise to wear this at night or in spring/fall days - It's not as bad as people say after letting it sit for a while, but yet again, it's not that cool to have to buy a fragrance and only be able to wear it properly after a few months - I find that "Maceration" doesn't usually take as much time with other middle eastern fragrances, it usually takes around a week or so, but this one really had to sit months in order to change.

This is nothing more than a fresh shower Invictus-like scent. Worth exactly the $20 that I paid. It is pleasant and good enough for the two hours that it lasts. We do not need to make anything more out of this. It is fresh, linear, and non-offensive. Any age group can rock this after the shower.

You are not going to do better for a $20 Blue Freshie.... I do not get the Invictus Parfum which is deeper and more complex, but I do get a blend of the regular Invictus and the YSLY line. Easy blind buy if you are into those scents.

just bought this 5 minutes ago at tj maxx and I’m going to return it literally smells like a weaker hawas ice lol better to save $5 more and get hawas ice for a better overall fragrance

As someone who loves soapy scents, I was dissappointed in this. No soapiness whatsoever. Just invictus minus some of the sweetness. If soapy is what you are looking for, move along.

@ThePrizz - You actually do NOT have the Limited Edition of you're smelling milk, sunscreen, and coconut. Those are notes that can be found in the OG.

Its like hawas ice but cheaper with worse performence. Its fine and its def better than the original.

Smells really close and similar to Khadlaj Shiyaaka Shadow.
