Oud Mood Silver

In my review of "Oud Mood Elixir | Lattafa / لطافة", I mentioned four variations or flankers of Oud Mood. All the Oud Mood collection pieces have lush packaging and bottle with attention to every detail. The Oud Mood Reminiscence box is a silver cylindrical tube similar to fine whiskeys, whose lid is hooked by a silver ribbon that keeps it anchored. And the thick glass bottle is blindfolded with a silver ribbon of the same colour as the box. Not to mention the heavy chrome metal cap. Incredible how a perfume paid for around €15 can provide such expensive packaging. But will the perfume inside be just as good? Let’s go find out together. Oud Mood Reminiscence, also known as Silver, is a spicy, mossy, salty, and musky cologne with an oud touch. It shares several notes with "Oud Mood Elixir | Lattafa / لطافة", but the concoction smells quite different. Although both saffron and cinnamon are present, the nutmeg replacement with the rose creates a more pleasing opening. Here, the indolic and semi-faecal nuances are not present. Instead, I get a boozy and aromatic blast that reminds me of a metallic lavender facet and hides a semi-floral and spicy accord. There is even a bit of zestiness, too much vanishing to be recognized. The combination of rose and saffron is not typical of oriental perfumes. This rose is dewy without a jammy undertone, and the saffron offers its spicy side without being too leathery. To my nose, the rose comes with spicy borders, not too feminine, but with an aromatic masculine slant. When the initial blast tones down, a fruity and floral tinge appears. Not a sweet and pulpy fruit, yet something akin to wild and red berries. The raspberry surfaces late on my skin, intertwined with the balsamic notes that fold it into something that to my nose could be mistaken for something with a sour undertone. The floral side consists mainly of jasmine and a bit of powdery iris. Besides, close to my skin, I can detect a waxiness, or perhaps the amber saltiness blends with other notes. Behind the fruity and semi-sweet accord is earthy patchouli, subdued and not annoying. I get a balmy tinge on fabric that I can match with cardamon, though I don’t get it on my skin. So far, the oud is not perceivable and sits quite in the background. If you are not accustomed to oud, this fragrance is safe for you as the dark and skanky side of the sap is not in there. Finally, I take a lot of mossy oakmoss in the drydown. It’s pleasant, with that unique smell no longer allowed in European fragrances. The box contains Evernia Prunastri and Evernia furfuracea, two natural lichens. There is a chewy undertone from saffron leftovers. And a synthetic nuance of delicate oud exudes, slowly, non-dominant and non-obnoxious, very polite and tame compared to the other Oud Mood pieces. The lingering notes in the finish are woody and musky with a hint of vanilla. If you intend to buy one of the Oud Mood fragrances, this is the quietest and safest ideal to be introduced to oriental fragrances containing oud resin. Next, I would say original Oud Mood and finally, Oud Mood Elixir. I omitted Musk Mood because it’s an entirely different kind, a creamy, musky floral. Not bad when used during winter days; best suited to cool autumn and spring seasons. You could try it on cooler summer evenings; maybe it works well. The longevity is average, while the projection is moderate and close to the skin after a few hours. Safe to wear in the office safe; it’s not offensive. Reminiscent means full of thoughts of the past, though I am not sure what it reminds me of... I'm basing my review and experience on a bottle I've owned since January 2023 (PD 06.2022).

I do agree with the people saying this smells like an aftershave for men. this perfume does have a zestiness at the top that's very invigorating and a woodsy-sweet drydown reminiscing of tobacco, which's also associated with men's cologne. But in between these two masculine pillars the middle is all unnauseating sweetness and soft florals. So it's safe to say that this is a unisex perfume that can be enjoyed by both genders without any distinction but still leaning more feminine (in my opinion) due the combination of rose and raspberry notes. In comparaison to original Oud Mood (which is rose, incense and caramel centered scent), Reminiscence is the more active, sleek, work place appropriate sister.

It's EXACTLY what the MAIN ACCORDS list. Forget the breakdown notes listed here or anywhere else. I get no fruit at all. Overall it's a beautiful scent profile, that I find sort of runs in the vein of Burberry Body EDP, IMO (not exact people. That was the one fragrance that came to MY mind when I initially sprayed) only in the drydown is where I get essense of Oud. This is a really well done fragrance that is an easy wear for me.

Once again I don't think these notes listed are correct and it's also called *Reminiscence* It is some what of a chypre fragrance that leans more towards the oriental side. Kind of almost smells more oriental fougere to be honest. Intimate sillage but you've gotta expect that when they're using a lot of base heavy notes. Just as good as oud mood elixir, great value for the price. I'd score it about 8 out of 10.

Lattafa, if u are reading this, i have a favor to ask. Make a new version of this with high quality ingredients and beastmode performance. Got this many years ago. Despite it's crazy cheap price it's one of my top favourite perfumes. Don't know about newer batches but my old bottle smells absolutely delicious and performs very, very well.
