O des Soupirs

I often forget that I have some great bottles in my stash. Occasionally (like today), I give myself a few minutes to dig deep to find something I haven't worn for a year, perhaps even longer. O Des Soupirs is todays find :-). I don't think waxy roses are trendy, at the moment, but I do love them so very much. If you twist my arm, no doubt I could wear them for weeks.... quite happily. I knew that LaP d/c Drole de Rose a while back, so I Googled to see if Malle was planning to do the same with Lipstick Rose. Unfortunately, that appears to also be d/c, maybe they'll gradually stop sending it to retailers. Three of my favorite online discounters are still selling LR. If you're seeking a FB, you should consider moving quickly before pricing goes absolutely bonkers. Back to Mazzone's O Des Soupirs, if Drole de Rose and Lipstick Rose had a baby, it would be O des Soupirs. On my skin, ODS is slightly closer to Drole de Rose than it is to Lipstick Rose. The heliotrope in ODS is not in either LR or DdR. Lots of fumies dislike heliotrope because of the playdoh thing, but on my skin the entire composition can either embrace the heliotrope or put it on center stage (like in Athalia). I suspect that the heliotrope magnifies the hyacinth, to boost the powdery effect. I consider all 3 of these beautiful roses as the ingenue type "burst of spring" rose. If you're partial to waxy rose type fragrances, O Des Soupirs is right up your alley.

I was looking for a geniune lipstick scent and I'm very happy with my O des Soupirs. It starts as classic blue can Nivea cream, and then turns into a more floral cream, and then, deep pink vintage lipstick phase starts. High sillage at the beginning, but quickly settles and is medium to long lasting. I found it similar with Ombre Rose in gold bottle without harsh aldehydes and sandalwood. I quite liked it though and couldn't understand the reason of low ratings here and on another well-known perfume platform. I've found out that LM Parfums had confirmed in 2015 that Mona di Orio was the perfumer; according to the release date, this should be one of her last designs.

The most vibrant bouquet; it’s very satisfying somehow a hint of citrus is in there and it’s creamy and dreamy floral aroma makes me feel like a put together sophisticated and chic mama! I am loving it! Completely unisex! Imagine a beautiful clean human right out of the shower and then they intentionally spoil their skin with the luxurious Nivea lotion from the blue tub! So decadent and clean!

I don't understand where the negative reviews are coming from. This is a soft comforting creamy floral. Smells very similar to the legendary Nivea cream. I can't get enough of it in the past couple of days. Got a sample and am seriously considering a full bottle.

love this; a powerful, sweet, synthetic bit sour hyacinth with lots of rose and a very powdery heliotrope that is all powdery, almond heliotrope in the base
