#008 Mood Indigo

Great green and aquatic fragrance with a hint of floral, fruity and soft woody and leather. Very linear and every day fragrance It reminds a lot of Polo Blue but it's not a clone. Longevity around 7-8 hours and not a powerful sillage but you can smell it all day. Love!

Mood Indigo received the number eight in the L’Envie Parfums fragrance collection. Its name is related to the term indigo, which comes from the blue tones of indigo (Indigofera tinctoria), whose dye is obtained after the fermentation of fresh leaves in water, and by oxidation, precipitates as a blue pigment. The company says that the name comes from a song performed by Nina Simone, who says: “You ain't never been blue, Till you've had that mood indigo”. The Mood Indigo’s fragrance brings notes of grapefruit, mint, green melon, star anise, pink pepper, and apple, in the opening. Then, the body reveals notes of freesia, magnolia, cyclamen, violet leaves, lavender, and watery accord. In the background, notes of cedar, leather, patchouli, tonka bean, sandalwood, and musk. On the skin, Mood Indigo behaves like a fruity-aquatic scent, as the output delivers the succulent freshness of grapefruit and melon, a full treat for Brazilian men. The composition also brings Linalool, a compound very present in plants such as mint and some citrus fruits. Here, it gives a frosty look without getting too minty. The body, more aromatic than floral, brings the lighter nuances of magnolia and cyclamen flowers, which are reinforced by the watery accord. And the violet leaves play a fundamental role in drying, as in this composition they leave aside that slightly powdery aspect of the iris, to the detriment of the more ozonic facets. The brand says Mood Indigo is a new approach to leather notes, blending the freshness of citrus. However, I don't think leather has much presence, at least on my skin. So, if you think you're going to find a fragrance with a nice leather note contrasting with a citrus accord, it might be better to buy a sample first. For me, Mood Indigo works around the notes of melon, anise, violet leaves, cedar, and musk, in a reinterpretation of a perfume launched in 2002, which conquered the whole world, especially men who live in the hottest countries: Polo Blue (Ralph Lauren). Even the olfactory pyramid has similarities when you see notes of melon, basil, woody accord, musk, patchouli, and suede. And to be honest, everything is fine. I don't like comparisons very much, but sometimes they are so obvious that it's ugly to try to cover the sun with a sieve and say that the product is unique or completely innovative. The fact is that Mood Indigo is on the market, it has quality, costs much less than the other, meets expectations, pleases easily, and transmits a lot of freshness. It can not go wrong!

É um perfume aquático amadeirado, mas após umas poucas horas o amadeirado vence tornando-se quase um perfume sem nuances aquaticas e suaves, na minha opinião perde um pouco do proposito e como um amadeirado não achei ele tão bom. 5/10
