#004 Falling Water

Falling Water is the perfume number four within L’Envie Parfums. Its name means, in Portuguese, “Queda d’Água” and the inspiration – both for the name and the fragrance – came from the architectural project Fallingwater, created by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1939, in southwestern Pennsylvania. It is a house built over an active waterfall, which is part of several prominent lists in the USA. Falling Water’s fragrance is aquatic-aromatic and has notes of lemon, pomegranate, mandarin, aquatic notes, juniper, and kiwi, at the top. Then, the body carries notes of lotus, magnolia, green leaves, and violet leaves. Finally, the base brings cedar, vetiver, musk, and amber. When reaches the skin, the fragrance shows that it was not made to mess around and reveals a soft and sweet lemon, which contrasts with the sour facets of the pomegranate. Believe me: it is perfect for Brazil and for the olfactory profile that is successful at any time of the year. The central part, filled with aquatic flowers, reinforces the clean and fresh aspect, bringing greener and more natural nuances. And the magnolia complements that feeling, thanks to its sweeter facets, which can give a vanilla lemony cream scent (like the one used in the lemon pie). As time goes on, Falling Water reveals a base of light woods, with a lot of cedar and musk. The vetiver here is not earthy but ethereal (like that grown in Tahiti) and its smell can be confused with lemongrass. Falling Water represents freshness but does not disappoint in performance. It's the kind of fragrance full of versatility, with great projection and average durability, especially on the hottest days. At first, it seems more suitable for a male audience, but it works very well on women's skin. In practice, it earns praise, and someone may ask you if your perfume is a flanker of the Cool Water line (Davidoff). And that's the best part because you can smile and say: “no, it's a Brazilian perfume, which costs less than most imported ones and was created by international perfumers”. Here's the scent you've been looking for to wear on hot summer days (and nights).

The fragrance is a quite greenish aquatic, however extremely soft to a level where it becomes more of a very discreet second skin a perfume to be worn for yourself! Unfortunately, this softness prevents me from catching more nuanced aspects of the fragrance, i can identify the aquatic notes, but the rest of the freshness comes from a blend of green notes with a slightly floral touch (very subtle) After a couple of minutes a trace of sweetness uncovers ! which flipped this fragrance from a 6/10 to a 7.5/10 for me !
