Flower Glyph

I've been dying to try this new release because the nose behind it are Jean Claude Ellena and Celine Ellena. JCE is one of my faves as he created my holy grail perfume Frederic Malle L'Eau Dhiver. And thank gooodness...Flower Glyph did not disappoint! It opens with a tart blueberry-honeysuckle that also reminds me of lilac, and it feels so airy and atmospheric. There's a coldness to it which I looove in perfumes, and JCE does so well! I can smell the ink too, and it does have an iridescent feel to it...it's that coldness and the fountain pen metallic tip that's been dipped in a fairy's rainbow pot 😍 The longer it sits on my skin, I keep getting whiffs of a blue ball point pen- it's a nostalgic smell I didn't know I needed! I also get dried apricot or plums for a touch of sweetness. I LOVE THIS. I'm usually whelmed by most Liis scents cause they're all very pretty, but feels like elevated dupes of something else. Flower Glyph, on the other hand, smells so original, unique and lovely!

This smells like sticking your face directly into a literal bunch of jasmine. The heart notes of honeysuckle and jasmine are the main event. It has the green edges and slight spice that a real flower has. It's nice to see Liis heading in a more high-art direction with master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, who has also created for Hermes and Frederic Malle. It's not a blueberry fragrance or a pollen perfume. I get a little pollen on the dry down, which gives it a soft, fuzzy, honeyed, pillowy sort of effect a few hours into the wear. It smells like someone distilled honeysuckle flowers down into their pure form, a rich golden floral. It also kind of smells like jasmine tea, a little like pomelo oolong from d'annam

Flower Glyph is a soft patchwork of early memories and associations from the 90s. Upfront, there’s blueberry jasmine tea and earthy pollen. In a more associative sense, I get Mazzy Star, scratch and sniff stickers, a watery ink drop spreading, and spreading, until it reaches its final frozen form on page. All memories awash in a moody haze of denim blue. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but I think I may be falling in love. Every time I sniff my wrist I feel like I’m falling backwards in time. The intensely curious and hopeful part of my brain lights back up after years of dormancy, and I’m back in a place where music is felt deep in my bones.

I'm getting tea & was about to ask if anyone else was getting tea before the comments saved me from questioning myself. I was expecting a more polarizing experience given the mixed reviews I've been hearing. I don't see it as straying from the Liis lineup either as I've also heard. I think it fits in nicely and different enough from Ethereal Wave, teawise, to not be redundant. I'm still in the opening but I think it's actually a lovely floral tea scent.

Misunderstood. If you want to feel like a fairy, stopping on the petals of a fruit blossom to pollinate it, this is the fragrance for you. Highly originally and realistic floral for those who love the smell of nature alive in its sticky humid beauty. William Carlos Williams esque eating the plums from the icebox. A favorite I had not expected to love so much.

i was a bit moved by how beautiful of a floral this is, and the blueberry and ink notes give it such a unique and endearing character. the longevity isn't bad either– it's a bit understated, but it wears this quality well. it's innocent, yet mature and refined. princess-like, even.

Immediate love, and I’m picking up citrus. My only complaint is it doesn’t smell like honeysuckle to me and I’m starting to think that a realistic honeysuckle perfume doesn’t exist.

Delivers a gorgeous, highly artistic femininity. It’s a beautiful scent, but it ultimately trades away the massive, beast-mode longevity you get from deeper, resinous perfumes.

This fragrance has very prominent honeysuckle note and smells like tea to me. I think this is a unique fragrance.

Truly unique. Sophisticated. The ink note gives it sort of the same quality that Celestial Object has.

This is the most unique and interesting fragrance I’ve tried from Liis. The honeysuckle and fruit—I can pick up the described plum note, but I can swear there’s an unlisted apricot in there as well—open to a familiar fruity-floral profile, but the pollen and ink notes combine for a rather unusual effect. I’m not sure I have smelled anything quite like it, although I do see the comparison to House of Bo’s Ave Maria made by a previous reviewer. I don’t know if I love this fragrance, but I love that it’s kind of out of left field and puzzles my brain a bit.

this has to be one of the most beautiful floral fragrances i’ve smelled! i love an ink note, similar to the one found in kenzo’s ikebana indigo, but this one is very different. it’s very jasmine heavy with a touch of sweetness from the honeysuckle and blueberry notes. there’s a slight herbal/earthiness from the pollen note which just grounds the whole fragrance. i would potentially consider a travel size of this one, it really is super beautiful and wearable, and i think it would bloom even more in warmer weather!

I’m learning that white flowers feel a bit too dainty for me. This is a gorgeous scent nonetheless. Smelled just like Angel’s Trumpet by Heretic at first. It breaks away into its own thing with the whisper of plum I think. Still could be Angel’s sister for sure. Very feminine and very pretty.

One of their most unique releases! The way the ink is blended resonates like black tea sort of vibe, I like it a lot. Interestingly enough, when I sprayed this on my skin, the drydown smells similar to Ave Maria by House of Bo.

Seems to shift between fuzzy, honeyed florals and blueberry bubble gum. I also get the tea facet other reviews have mentioned. It's a really strange fragrance, but not in a bad way. A fun and unexpected release from this house.

This is a cozy scent to me...warm and inviting. I get mostly honeysuckle and pollen on my skin. Not much of the fruity notes and just a touch of ink. It’s a nicely done fragrance. Definitely unique

Like bringing a bowl of macerated blueberries to your picnic at the meadow. Very subtle ink note, almost unnoticeable. Intensely humid. Everything "summer" in a bottle

Don't believe it folks. The negative reviews here are fragrantica gatekeeping again. Dog feet!? Oh my word!

do NOT flame me for this but i swear to god this smells like the peach scene from call me by your name....

How much blueberry are we talking?

I found this alright. The Notes didnt evolve and combined to make a decieveing bubble gum leathery scent but if you focus each note is detectible, but without focusing it smells like bubble gum and gentle leather and flowers. so yeah its a good one to have a sample of. Overall: 5/10

The notes sounded so delicious and interesting. 100% up my alley and had to try it. But, for me, it turned out to be another nondescript sweeter fruity floral. Inoffensive but kinda of boring and a bit youthful in an unsophisticated way.

Fresh white floral. I don't pick up much citrus from this after the dry down. It's lighter than most white florals I've smelled, so I like it better than most but still not one that I would purchase a full bottle of.

This smells like fruit in a tin can. Im glad I sampled this house, but I can tell tell the intended audience was born later than me.

Smells like whole wheat bread for sure, and maybe a little bit of dog feet.

The dog feet comment must have been somebody trolling, because it definitely doesn’t smell like that. That said, I do find this one genuinely challenging. Something in the profile — possibly the pollen — dominates everything else. There’s a pleasant hint of blueberry and some florals underneath, but whatever that dominating note is also makes me think of the original black Chapstick, oddly enough. It’s not an offensive scent by any means, but something about it, whether a single note or the combination, I just can’t get past.

I love Rose Struck by Liis. I ordered a bottle from Liis directly and they included a sample of this. I worked as a florist for 5 years. To me this smells like jasmine and blueberries rotting in flower water. Just all jasmine and rotting greenery. Not sure what ink is supposed to smell like here. I use a fountain pen and smell ink a lot, but this is not it. It smells like chemicals and not something that belongs in a perfume.

i had the most visceral negative reaction to this perfume after testing it. something about it smelled very toasted & savory - almost like sesame. the honeysuckle in the opening was lovely but as it dried it got more and more nauseating. i’m blaming the pollen & plum notes.

At first it was very strange as in all over the place.. not blended well. Kind of a moth ball smell surfaced after a few minutes and then I got jasmine and cinnamon. Just a big mess imo. And a it’s a no for me!

It is not my cup of tea. I am selling my bottle, based in Canada.

I love a blueberry note. It feels fantastical and dewy to me, unique and interesting. It reminds me of the first book I ever read in gradeschool, Blueberries for Sal, which has this really neat contrasting yellow/blue artwork that just feels and looks sooo... sour and yummy! Hear me out though... this also reminds me of Nosferatu by Heretic. Something in the coolness, the creamy creepy softness...? anyone else? They are by no means dupes! Perhaps something in the inkiness of FG reminding me of the sad petrichor, mineral nature of Nosferatu? The rooty and dusty undertones of the moss/green notes? Either way, it feels like Nosferatu is the cold and dead version of Flower Glyph, which is warmer and alive while still giving me some moodiness! (love, me, sniffing on two test strips and poring over these notes right now)

Kate Greenaway's floral children's illustrations as vintage minty-lime toothpaste, foaming mentholated margarita freezee pop, the spit-drip down the wrist before it reaches the elbow. Grass stains, bare feet, summer freckled. Ohio, age six. Periwinkles and snapdragons along the fence, the neighbor kid (a nasty little pervert) who made me look at his ding-dong underwater whilst in our above-ground pool, my eyes stinging from chlorine, pretending to look so that he'll fuck off. Learning other families' weirdness during a sleepover, the citrus-shaped soaps you get slapped for using, the processed powdery sweetness of bulk off-brand cereal in a bag, the unfamiliar plastic-honeyed scent of the air freshener that you once saw someone's mother drinking.

The opening of this is stunning. Such a realistic honeysuckle scent. The dry down smells primarily of a tea scent to me though. I think the jasmine must be coming through more like jasmine tea than fresh jasmine. The honeysuckle also disappears on the dry down. I will say the jasmine blends perfectly with the ink note. The two notes balance each other out keeping that ballpoint pen smell from becoming overwhelming like I found YSL Muse to be, but I just wish that honeysuckle stuck around or was more prominent.

I am perplexed by her! It’s something I keep smelling and can’t quite decide on how I feel. Very heavy floral scent. I personally don’t get very much fruit when I spray it on my skin. The ink note is what keeps me wondering. It almost smells metallic to me. Do I hate her? Absolutely not. She’s interesting and pretty. But the metallic smell of the ink keeps me from buying a full bottle or spraying the sample again. I love Liis perfumes so maybe she will grow on me

really different than I expected -- i was imagining more of a translucent blueberry, and this isn't really that. i really tried to like my sample, but this one gives me a headache. it's very sythetically sweet while also being super heavy. maybe that's the pollen note? the blueberry is there, but it's more of a blueberry syrup than a fresh blueberry. not for me, i guess.

To me, this is a tea scent. It smells like smoky, inky, oolong tea with notes of blueberry. I would agree that it's also a bit apricot-y. It's super unique and perfectly unisex. Projection is light to moderate.

Smells like a hippie chachkie store (neutral). Not a scent I would wear but I do find it well blended.

The plum note is too intense for my liking.
