Claiborne Sport

So glad I ordered this one! - review info indicated that this was similar to Clinique Chemistry, which I love, but it is really expensive. Although I had to pay more in postage to get this to Australia (and I haven't seen this one here), today having received it, I am very happy to see how good this is - and how it captures what Chemistry is all about - I love the green/violet transparent leather aroma that this gives off! This one really performs well in the heat - I would recommend this for those who want to change up from the mainstream aquatics (eg. Nautica, Cool Water, or Azzaro Chrome) for summer. This is a fantastic product.

I got more compliments wearing this fragrance than anything else. I was wearing this my second year in college in 2009 and there was no hesitaton when people wanted to let me know how good I smelled. It was also 10 dollars, so take that as you will. Just like Cool Water, it is a people pleaser. Due to the ambroxen popularity exploding over the past few years, you might even stand out wearing this. You really can't go wrong if you're looking to get noticed, if that's what your goal is of course.

When I was in High School, I wore this all of the time. I recently bought a bottle (incredibly cheap) for nostalgia purposes. I was shocked to get compliments on it! It's a very old school, late 90's scent. Then again, it's different enough from other things I/others wear that perhaps it's novel smelling again? I love wearing it to the gym- it holds up surprisingly well. I'm impressed by how long lasting it is given the very, very low price. I paid something like $11 for a 3.4 oz bottle.

The reviews calling this a better take on the Curve DNA are right. Very 90s. Lasts longer, too, and is dirt cheap. Something about this (the tomato leaf?) gives it a "greener" vibe than what I remember my recent bottle of Curve smelling like. Lasts for a long time on fabric; don't be afraid to hit your shirt a couple times when spraying.

It is an older cologne and I just love it. It has always been inexpensive and I use to wear it daily. It is pretty strong when it goes on and is moderately lasting like 3-4 hrs. I wear this during the day and of all my colognes, for some unknown reason, this one gets the most compliments.

great scent very fresh and green and invigorating and well balanced while being affordable wore the hell out of it and no matter how many sprays i used i always got compliments so this is a MUST HAVE

Super green and super refreshing! It's one of those "humble" fragrances that just so happens to smell really nice. You can get this one for very cheap at TJ Maxx and Marshall's.

My girlfriend absolutely craves this fragrance. It's my favorite one from the Claiborne house. It's way better than curve. I find it to be very refreshing and uplifting imo.

I have used this perfum a lot. Just love it, so freshy, young and flowery, actually I think this could be a unisex option. Very recommended and the price is very good.

I wore this back in college- I loved it. Really fresh, herbal, clean scent that was strong but not overpowering. It was long-lasting too. 10/10.

Just a classic in my book--refreshing and warm without being overpowering. Definately for warmer weather and outside life in general.

absolute best claiborne scent in the world way better than curve

A wonderful light scent that reminds one of gardens, springtime and the clean fresh scent left by a cool rain on new leaves... This opens with a very fresh lavender augmented by tomato leaves (an extreme green pungent vegetal scent)and this always reminds me of working in my parents garden when I was growing up (we had at least 10-15 tomato plants each year) and has a rejuvenating effect on me. The heart becomes very soapy, no doubt due to the spices and herbs mixing with the subtle cyclamen. This has that 'sporty' feel to it but is more ethereal and transparent. A light cedar (more greens than wood)smooths the amber and musk together in a simple but strong finish. This makes me think of outside showers and fresh vegetation. Sillage: close Longevity: okay Overall: 3.25/5 This is one of those scents that your nose quickly gets used to and though you may not notice it, others do and often compliment me on how 'nice and fresh' I smell. This is available at most discount sites with a 3 pc 100 ml gift set going for less than $30.00...

Another gift from my dads couple of forgotten fragrances under his vanity. This is an odd one. It really smells like grapes to me when its first sprayed. It has an almost shower gel or soapy smell without being salty at all once it is on your skin for awhile. It smells clean and fresh, with a little green to it. Nothing spicy or sharp, it almost has a cooling sensation. Just smooth and clean, which is why I like wearing it after showers. Apparently its got great performance, but I must get nose deaf too it quickly to notice. Despite being an older scent, one that reminds me slightly of my youth, like going into malls in the early 2000's. Its pleasant, but nothing crazy. Id say its a safe blind buy for most people.

Just got this stuff in the mail. It absolutely resembles Curve. Its a slightly less spicy Curve. Curve is more sharp and loud. It for sure resembles Polo Sport as well. The only difference is Polo Sport has a mint note. As I kept smelling it, it also reminded me of something that I couldn't quite figure out. Its almost similar to Joop Nightflight, but then again, not really. I finally figured it out! It has similarities to Davidoff Cool Water, without the green notes. This resembles lots of stuff. Its nice, but definitely explains why the price is where its at.

used to wear this as a day/office fragrance in late 90s/early 00s. at the time, I found it a more interesting alternative to the glut of inoffensive aquatic or fresh fragrances for young men. I still remember it that way. I was always impressed that the accurate tomato leaf notes really came through, giving it a green-ness that felt very organic and not sweet, but grounded, for a sport scent. maybe I'll go pick some more up on the cheap now, if I can pull it off in these more 'advanced' late 40s. as a workout scent, or Saturday scent.

I have always had a soft spot for Liz Claiborne fragrances, and Claiborne Sport is one of my favorites. Although it is synthetic, there is something very comforting about this 90s scent. It reminds me of simpler times, when life was at a slower pace, and of the earth-tone interiors that were popular in the 90s. It's a reminder of a great decade that was full of excitement and good times for so many. It is always a pleasure to wear a few sprays of Claiborne Sport and take a little trip down memory lane. Good stuff!

Contemporary inspirations are drawn from Ralph Lauren Polo Sport and Tommy Hilfiger Tommy supposedly. It opens with tomato leaf and lavender, which is a little different. The heart is a clean aromatic ginger, cardamom, and sage. The base is musky cedar warmed by amber. It comes off as aldehydic and sporty similar to Polo Sport so that wasn't a bad comparison; I think the Tommy comparison has more to do with the ginger herbal combo. Overall this is pretty nice and different enough to earn a gym rotation spot.

Really good, cheap fragrance. It's great for casual wear or gym time. To me, this smells exactly like a stronger version of "curve". I bought it at marshalls for $13 for a 3.4 oz. bottle. When I say it smells like curve I mean almost identical. The white musk is very prominant in both, but claiborne sport project better, and lasts longer on me. I'd recommend to anyone in high school or on a very limited budget.

I have always like this fragrance. In fact, it is the only one from Claiborne that I adore. It is citrus, fresh, clean & full of life. Projection is moderate, longevity is roughly 4-5 hours on me, however this is not a problem due to the fact that this scent is so cheap. The shower gel, deodorant, aftershave, massage oil works wonders with the spray. I am thinking about picking this up again for next summer.

Very nice, slightly "generic" smelling casual frag from Claiborne that is almost a more subdued version of Curve. Rather than a blast of citrus and woods (like Curve), Claiborne Sport softens the opening notes with fresh tomato leaf and morning dew. A great pick-me-up cologne to wear on casual occasions, whether its working out or going to the mall. Nothing complex, but it gets the job done.

This cologne was legendary when I was in middle school/junior high. Legend has it, Matt S. was wearing it at our 7th grade dance and Kari G. smelled it on him. It was so intoxicating that she made out with him after the dance. After we heard that... all the dudes in 7th grade had it. 😂😂 I never had it but always wanted it. I went with Curve and Cool Water in those days... ‘95-‘00.

Bought this without testing after being recommended by a friend, nice office scent which I thought was an office scent after a couple hours. I sprayed it on son’s collar 3xs boy was I wrong 12 hours later and it was still kicking. I guess this one of those fragrances that goes into olfactory fatigue mode right away 😁.

Amazing...for the price is a real bargain. Very fresh with a nice musk undertone, the comparisons between this and curve are correct, they smell alike if i had to pick one for longevity and projection it will be this. 92/100

Had this in high school . I liked it back then but i remeber it wouldnt last more than 2 hours. Fresh out of the shower scent maybe its good to go to sleep with.

I get a very lemony clean soapy smell, even though lemon isn't in the notes. Clean and fresh, one of my main frags to wear at the gym.

Great cologne and very similar to my old high school fave curve. Nice clean and sporty! good work cologne as well.

Average fragrance with a flowery smell to it. Perfect for a hot summer day....but nothing to write home about.

Wish it smelled more like tomato leaf / green after drying down. I like Claiborne colognes but this is one of the more disappointing ones for me, it's pretty boring and not in a particularly enjoyable way either.

hear me out like, its good, but needs a sweetness and sillage boost, a little more than davidoff cool water, like a Liz Claiborne Sport Intense would be interesting

Not sure if people are leaving reviews of this scent and their favourite memories of it in high school, or if they’re leaving reviews for this current formulation. I picked up a 100ml bottle for about 20 bucks and I can tell you that this is a dud. The opening blast is strictly alcohol, I learned the hard way because I put my nose to my hand and almost choked. Once the alcohol wears off I do see some small similarities to curve for men, but in my opinion stick to Curve, even with its new reformulation you get more bang for you buck in terms of performance. The only positive I can think about with this stuff is that it’s definitely meant for working out in either a gym or going for a jog. The projection is very weak and you won’t choke out a room. This smells good enough for me to give it an eight out of ten, but because of its performance I’m giving it a 6. The only way I can describe this scent in terms of resemblance towards another is if you took Curve for men and mixed it with Kenneth Cole Black, this bottle would be the offspring of that. I get 2 hours tops if I’m lucky and I’m sure I could stretch it out on the hotter days. Definitely not a waste of money, but slightly disappointed with seeing as 18 voted moderate longevity, 21 voted long lasting, and 6 voted very long lasting. Something definitely doesn’t add up, 30 minutes in and this is a skin scent. UPDATE: The drydown smell left on my clothes the next day is quite remarkable. It’s enough to boost my score to a hard 7.

When I purchased Curve Chill, this came with it in a 1 oz. bottle. As soon as I put this on, I absolutely HATED it! The lavender and lemon is not pleasing at all to my nose and it even smells as if there is a note of wintergreen in there somewhere. It smelled cheap and I immediately went to wash it off my arm. God bless! 1/10

Guuwaaaaa.... this is an eau de cologne. It is not going to last or perform much or for very long. Thats the bad. The good is that it smells fresh and clean, not over bearing and can be used any time of year in the day. Office safe I suppose... Its a great gym scent. Probably good for after a shower before bed.

I received a sample of this and thought it was for women so I put it all on. I hated, it. Then I looked here and realised it's for men. I would hate it on a man too. I can smell the tomato leaf bad - its crap, way too herbal, not sexy in the least.

Smells like pee. I'm only 18 and my first time smelling this just reminded me of pee. Waste of money unless you wanna feel nostalgic.

I bought Liz Claiborne Sport for men as a sample addition to an online order. I don't remember this one from the 1990's, but it was a hard pass on first sniff due to an incredibly off putting note at the top. As I look at the notes now, I believe it was the tomato leaf that was a tad sickening...almost ketchup like. However, I always enjoyed the original Lacoste Essential for men which I think shares the same note. I would not recommend this cologne.

I really enjoy Claiborne fragrances. Even being just Eau De Cologne strength, the company and brand puts out quality, non-offensive and masculine scents that last longer than EDT's from bigger names. 'Claiborne Sport' is an instant classic in my book. It has that typical musky base note like most other scents from the brand, but still maintains a unique character. And at a price you can easily risk blind buying without a second thought. The initial blast is a musky, somewhat sporty tone of amber and subtle woods. The best way to describe the smell is to take Calvin Klein's 'Eternity' and mix it evenly with Claiborne's 'Curve' and you get 'Claiborne Sport'. Boom. Its literally that simple. The middle notes of cardamom and greens pick up and carry the base musk notes further, and it starts really smelling amazing here. The drydown carries into full on 'Eternity' and 'Curve' mode, but less synthetic. Definitely more natural. With a liberal ten sprays (neck, wrists, shoulders and chest), I am getting easily 8-10+ hours of longevity, with good projection and fairly good sillage, especially for a EDC concentration spray. After the first six hours, it becomes a natural skin musk that lingers and smells wonderful. Lasts several days on clothes and fabrics. For the super cheap asking price, there are not very many fragrances that perform this well and smell this good or unique. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys 'Curve' or 'Eternity', but wants something different that isn't those two well known fragrances.

Dancinleroy is fairly accurate about Claiborne Sport being a better projecting, stronger update of Claiborne's incredibly successful Curve. The core and base are essentialy the same and both are trying to give the impression of a leafy, woodsy, grassy natural setting. The major differences in Claiborne Sport being the removal of the citric pineapple, lemon top of Curve for the tomato leaf and a bit more herbal flair. Also, Claiborne Sport contains a lighter, more floral presence in the middle with the cyclamen instead of the bergamot and violet in Curve that gives Curve an extra fresh, more natural smelling kick once the middle notes ascend on the more synthetic citrus elements. Where Curve at least suggests at times a less synthetic core, Claiborne Sport comes off incredibly synthetic, less refined and somewhat out of balance. Despite this reality, Claiborne Sport still serves exceedingly well as a gym and work fragrance for someone not looking to invest a lot of money. A perfect everyday use cologne for a highschool or college student, projects better than Curve in some respects, but bare in mind Curve is better blended and the subtlty of Curve is part of its strong appeal.

Smells very, very similar to CK's Eternity for Men mixed with Fahrenheit. Coumarin is listed in the ingredients, and the lavender note is pretty dominant throughout the lifespan of the fragrance, which is an admirable five to eight hours. I also smell a slight blackcurrant note in the heart, tangy, metallic, a bit purpley-fruity, adding just enough depth and shade to the scent profile. Parallel to that is a green hawthorn note, which creates a soft, leathery sweetness, very hay-green in its ambiance. A bit hard to describe. This fragrance conjures associations with Creed Green Valley, Adidas Sport Field, Eternity, Fahrenheit, Aqua Quorum (mainly in how the Calone is handled), and Silver Mountain Water. Claiborne Sport is definitely a fresh fougere, and it's a good one, even if it is mish-mash derivative. Still, it smells good, and much more natural than it needs to be. Well worth the $13 I paid for 3.4 ounces, as I got more than I paid for.

If you are looking for a clean, green and masculine scent on a budget this is a great option. It isn't anything mind blowing but a simple stable choice. You don't have to worry about time of year or day it just works. I will this an 8/10 and a recommend to buy especially for people who are looking for what was popular in the 90's and early 00's. It has a pleasant clean laundry smell that just works. Unlike many who are posting here I didn't grow up with this but I like it all the same. I think the Liz Claiborne house is perfect for those who just want something that smells nice for an inexpensive price. I would recommend almost anything from this house as a starter cologne and if you just happen to stick with the house instead of exploring other you can have a solid collection for all occasions.

I have an older bottle. This is not really "green," but rather smells like wine, most likely due to the amber and spices, which simulate a "dark" fruity quality, as well as the tomato leaf. This is rather dry and just a little sweet. It's reasonably natural smelling and it has a mild woody "backbone." Overall, this is rather interesting, and not that far from a niche idea. Over time it gets a little powdery, presumably from the amber. There's nothing "bad" about this and I hope I can get to like it but right now I can't say I find it compelling, which I think is due to a lack of much dynamism.

I was so in love with this in my early 20s. There was a period in which I decided that I was so attracted to it that I would wear it myself so that I could be around it all the time. Fast forward to a few years ago, I came across a small clearance bottle of it and snagged it for my husband. It takes me back, but since I never linked it memory wise to an old boyfriend, its fine. Sometimes I still sneak a spray or just in the air for good times sake.

Refreshing, spicy, lavender, amber fragrance. This masculine scent possesses a blend of green notes, herbs, ginger, cedar and the aroma of a morning dew. It's a very fresh scent. It is subtle and not musky, very light and does not overpower you. Perfect to use on a daily basis in business setting. Recommended for office wear.

I was given a bottle of this as a young kid, about 8-9. I did not know a thing about cologne, thought it was on the strong side but then it grew on me as I got older. Now when I look back as an older young man I realize it was a pretty great scent. Very fresh, clean scent. It lasts a long time too!

First 5 min it smells like an old school lavender fragrance mixed with fabuloso... not great The it starts smell like ysl myself edp? That drier sheet smell? Smells good.. but I’m having trouble trusting my nose because why/how would this possibly smell like ysl myself?.. can’t be right?
