Curve Black

I really don't care for Liz Claiborne's curve line overall, I feel most of the curve scents are generic bubble gum sweet and barely have any longevity like original Curve, Curve crush, Curve Spark, Curve Connect, Curve Sport, etc..... Curve Black and Curve Soul are the only scents worth mentioning. Curve Black and Curve soul are both outstanding scents. I was on a docked boat with 4 other family couples for new years eve in San Diego (yes during Covid). I had a feeling the wind blowing all night was going to break this scent (Curve Black) down rather quickly and make it just a skin scent, but to my happy surprise, I put 8 sprays on my clothes and skin at 7:30 pm, was on the boat at 8 pm, and I could still smell it @ midnight. Yes this scent is going to remind some of Fahrenheit and Lucky number 6, it really is a nicely done scent and I will always keep this in my rotation. I've been wearing this since 2017 and it's a phenomenal compliment getter, up there with Happy, Aventus, Black Orchid and Fahrenheit. Until recently Fragrantica did not have this scent up to write your reviews, it's about time they've put it up. Well done, and as a bonus it's extremely affordable.

this is curves most mature scent in their line up of flankers....very nice spice selection coupled with some leather and gassyness and maturity....long over due...a very good unexpensive scent IMO ...8.2/1O.........strength and longevity about 7.0/1O......should be well below $20 in no-time...but i didnt mind putting out 20 for it...im pleased...HAVE A LOVELY DAY FELLOW FRAG HEADS !!

Smelled it at Meijer the other day and liked it. Has an old school, Preferred Stock type vibe to it which I thought was a nice change of pace considering all the mall boy releases from big house brands these days. For the price, I may jump on board and pick up a bottle for the upcoming Fall season.

A blast of tonka beans then it's Fahrenheit mixed with Narciso pour homme. Leather and violet leaves shine through with decent projection and around 8 hours of longevity. Great cheapie, been very impressed with the Curve line.

A lower quality Fahrenheit. Mediocre performance but will last in the winter cold. Its mature, leathery, but less fresh than fahrenheit. 8/10, hard to hate.

i find this scent to be really nice i cant complain about it its different and interesting not a bad choice at all more for the more mature man...

Liz Claiborne Curve Black is the latest of the Curve line. It was released about a year ago for Father's Day 2017. I find Liz Claiborne Curve Black familiar in many different ways. When I first smelt it, I thought it was familiar to Fahrenheit maybe Fahrenheit Cologne with the violet leaf in an Usher VIP and some Stetson Black spice, some Antonio Banderas Seduction in Black and some Vince Camuto for men. I find Curve Black is mostly violet leaf, lavender, tonka and leather notewise. I finally purchased it about Christmas time after contemplating buying it for some time. This allowed me to have a full opinion on it. I smelt it for months and that's what gave me the opinion that this was along the lines of a Fahrenheit type fragrance. That said through smelling it around in different stores, I couldn't get a full knowing of performance. And man, performance wise, Curve Black sucks. On my skin, the aforementioned Seduction in Black actually lasts longer than Curve Black. Curve Black lasts about an hour projection wise which I find is a little too soft, but that's it before becoming a skin scent. It lasts five hours in total if you are lucky. I typically get three to four hours though. I wish I could say more about it. I think that Curve Black is a little too limited use wise. Sure it is a night scent that can work from fall until spring, but it is only really a casual scent or a workplace scent. Fahrenheit style scents don't really work in an upscale setting, nor does any Curve as they seem a little cheap and this comes from someone who likes a number of fragrances in the line. It is not unique so it expect "you smell like..." comments at work and on dates. It is no way club banger due to performance issues. Overall Liz Claiborne Curve Black is not even a good scent. I only really like it due to the notes. I rate it a 6.0 and so far the worst of the Curve line.

I just find myself happy with the simple things. Curve has grown up along with me over the years and we went through the best of times and the worse of times. And Curve Black has finally completed the circle to become a mature scent exactly at the time I became an older man...haha I'm old! The sweetness from the original Curve has been tamed this time around and adds a darker scent in the form of tonka beans. The spice stuck around this time yet feels smoother and has some reminders of the original here and there. The nutmeg reminds me of Magman Arno Sorel, a rare cologne that has many similarities to Curve Black. A safe scent you can wear for many occasions and do try to wear it in cooler weather for the full effect. The one issue I have is the dissapointing longevity in this scent which is very weak for me. I would say the scent dies on my skin in less than 4 hours... that sucks lol. Taking everything into account I enjoy this cologne and get compliments in the first hour after spraying. So lets see where Curve goes from here and hope they improve the longevity on thier next scent. 8 out of 10

No way this is a Winter frag as the Fragrantica thing there suggests. This is a Spring/Fall (even cooler Summer nights) night-time Fougére with a very masculine Leather tone that will fit casual hangouts at the bar or semi-formal reunions. Not heavy at all, but it is on the darker side as the name suggests. Lavender, Woods, Leather and to a lesser extent Violet is what i get from this, but not individually. Rather i can "sense" the nuance of all of those in this one big olfactory combo at the same time. Not a playful frag, and i like this one for that reason. Overall performance is what you would expect out of a fragrance on this price range: Not that bad, but nothing to write home about also. It's a like for me.

A very enjoyable curve gravitating into a slightly more grown/ more refined direction. My take it's like Vince Camuto (black bottle orig.) & Boss's Bottled Night crossed paths only in lighter variation. So if you like scents in those families I'm sure you'll like this; IMO slightly borderline generic but it's still a very nice add to the line & exudes classic nostalgia most Claiborne scents give. Also really dig the matte black bottle too! Will update later with sillage/ lasting strength. Update: Lasting power was pretty week & sillage was borderline moderate, say if you decide to get this, just spray your clothes if you want a longer wear..

too bad it last like an hour, good for the office. mature but inoffensive. teak wood gives it a kinda "bed bath and beyond candle" vibe

i personally think this smells a little bit like nautica voyage with more animalic and woody notes. very interesting scent.

Dis shi smell good kinda like a lemon peel that marinated in Nautica voyage

I feel like most of the Curve colognes can be used on all seasons but I feel like it's less of a winter and more of a spring,summer and fall. The curve line is like the perfect back to school scent that brings back memories in the 2000s. It's cheap and easy to find at your local Walmart/Ross/Burlington,etc. I have to say this scent I only smell it a little bit compare to the og one but still great. Very strong Bergamot but not monster like smell. If your a big bergamot fan then you will like this one. I smell bergamot even in the dry down. This is worth every penny if you like the Curve line. The curve colognes are perfect after shower or spraying at night to smell good. Don't remember the projection and sillage as I only have spray it at night for the meantime.

Eh...I just can't with this one. The violet note is ick. The leather note smells like stale cigarette smoke on clothes. I feel that it fails to do whatever it ought to do. If you're looking for a decent leather note for a good price, there are many better options floating around (Dirty English by Juicy Couture springs to mind). If you're looking for freshness, stick with the original Curve, even if the current formulation is somewhat macerated version of its former self. That is all I have to say. Have a nice morning.

I purchased this fragrance at a discount store, but that alone does excuse the poor performance. The fragrance is nice and is not unpleasant, just a waste of money when you consider you only get about 1/2 hour of performance, with limited siage and basically zero projection. I would further add that the sprayer is additionally very cheap, and you will get fragrance all over your fingers when you are trying to spray it. Overall, would not purchase this again. 2 out of 10.

A super dark, peppery, and slight leathery fragrance. This definitely isn't something a young guy could pull off, and I'm a young guy. Not for me. Nothing really bad about this fragrance, just nothing interesting of note, longevity is ok, sillage is decent. Go with curve spark or even the og curve if you like the fierce dna. Just nothing I feel makes this fragrance stand out. 6/10

Its a darker version of the OG. But as with most $20 colognes, its watered down to vapor status. I've had sex that lasted longer. "Here she was, where's she gone", to quote Deadwood, the greatest tv series ever made...🖕 HBO.

Definitely exactly what it says. Super versatile, very leather and aromatic forward, overall good and likeable scent. Smells like a high quality Old Spice body spray. Blind buy safe, great deal!
