Realities for Men

Wow! What a great fragrance! With only 20 something reviews this is flying way under the radar. An invigorating blend of bitter, tart citrus, dirty patchouli and woods. It’s synthetic and not necessarily original... but it can also be had for lunch money! As for performance, this fragrance performs better than most EDTs and some EDPs I own. I can spray my clothes and still smell it the next day in the laundry. That’s almost unheard of for a citrus dominated scent. If you can find a travel spray for under $10 this is a MUST OWN for any collector. I believe any age can wear this but it leans a little more toward 25+. Because of performance and wearability it’s an easy blind buy. It also works for all seasons and could make a nice signature scent. Bottom line: Buy this one. A classic cheapie! SYL

I love this scent. Many say it smells like D&G, but to to me, it smells almost identical to portfolio green by perry ellis. I dont really even see the lemon in realities, more green creaminess/patchouli warmness like in portfolio green. It's a great cheap fregrance that I will use frequently this summer. The longevity and sillage are awesome. Was a good blind buy for me.

I got this about a week ago (may 10th) and WOW! this thing is awesome! This smells like vintage D&G pour homme!! Probably the closest and BEST clone to D&G! Wonderful juice and though linear, it is about 85% close to the old masterpiece that was D&G! Absolutely worth the 14 dollars i spent for 75ml worth of this juice! Easy blind buy worthy in my book.

i LOVE this fragrance. citrus floralcy fused with aromatic woodiness. warm nicely on my skin. one of my favorites. in fact, i'm a former fragrance specialist and i own two 3.4 oz sprays for men. fresh and luxurious!

Better than any D&G reform, though not as identical to vintage. I may actually enjoy this over vintage as well.

Definitely not as bad as I was expecting. Right from the rip it's blatantly obvious that they were going for D&G Pour Homme, but the blend is nowhere near as cogent. At least initially. After about 5 minutes when the scent settles down, I was actually kinda impressed. It's definitely soapy, but not as granulated laundry detergent-esque as some of the early P&G re-attempts at the Pour Homme formula. It even smells just like the made in France version I have in the sillage, albeit a little weaker and slightly more synthetic. So I'd say it's more of a take on the post-EuroItalia versions. The good news is that it's just as obvious a take as Bora Bora Exotic is a take on Fahrenheit. Moreover, it's miles closer than something like The Dreamer, which to me smells completely different. Projection is also on the weaker side so it's not a beast, and the cheap plastic cap leaves much to be desired. Otherwise, it's probably the best budget dupe without it being explicitly marketed as one. Shame they axed it long ago because it could easily have be an alternative. Unfortunately, it still doesn't quite nail the sweet coumarin of the original 1994 sticker version of the D&G; and since it's rather hard to find, I can't really recommend it over the modern D&G formula. Personally, it's an easy like since I totally get the tobacco vibe in drydown and that was my favourite part of Pour Homme. My expectations were pretty low going in though, so I suppose part of me was expecting a jarring chemically mess. Not at all. You just have to like soapy scents from the 90s and let the sillage come to you instead of digging in like us scentaholics. A win for Claiborne imo. Scent - 7.25/10 Longevity - 6.5/10 Projection - 4.5/10 Overall - 6/10

Like all others said, similar to D&G, i like it and appreciate its longivity too, but there is a certain sharp note that it would be better if it is toned down a little bit!

It's true, smells almost exactly like D&G except lighter and cheaper. Snagged a 1.7oz for $10, that's a thumbs up for me!

An affordable nice frag. Nothing overly special about it but it does the job in the "smelling good factor."

This parfum reminds me D&G a lot. Good option if you dont want to spend a lot money. Safe pruchase.

This fragrance is basically Curve all grown up !!!! With that being said I'm a big fan of it.

The most "cozy" feeling cologne I've ever smelled. It leans a bit feminine so I'll probably rarely wear it. I visualize a woman siting in a nice chair on a porch reading a book and then burying her nose in a warm fluffy sweater. Has a calming effect on me somehow. Maybe a hidden note is catnip. lol

I just bought a "travel" size bottle through Amazon and just received it. I have been thinking about getting into more fragrances with "green" notes or something that reminds you of herbal, green meadows, forests, etc. I had a mini-bottle of this years ago, and I thought I liked it enough back then, so I thought I would purchase a new bottle of this. This is not what I expected in terms in liking it. It smells very pungent from the bottle alone and when I sprayed it on, it seems very pungent. In fact, the smell almost nauseates me. To me, it has some of the same DNA like the original Curve by Liz Claiborne. Also, it reminds me of "NRG Ginseng" by Jovan, which to me is kind of a cheap smelling cologne. I didn't like that one either. The scent doesn't last very long, maybe half an hour if that.? The dry down smells about the same as when it's sprayed on, but very faint. I'll give this more of a chance and maybe keep it until Autumn, but I doubt if I will like it enough to want to wear it.

I've loved this fragrance since it's introduction... Unfortunately, the corporate greed seems to have decimated the juice through reformulation. One saving grace, is that there is a local woman who makes and sells various perfume oils that are her impressions of many discontinued fragrances. One of them is a close dupe of Realities For Men... So between the oil roll-on she sells (which is 90% close to the OG Realities, and my bottle of the latest iteration (it's getting harder and harder to find) the fragrance lasts me a good 8 hours on skin. I've always wanted to like "Freshies", but what's considered a Freshy these days is quite different from what we oldsters called "fresh" forty odd years ago... The term "soapy" is used differently today, too. What we considered FRESH in the Seventies and Eighties were things like 4711, Geoffrey Bean's Bowling Green, Grey Flannel, things like that... Anything that was "soapy", in an Aldehydic way... Things with Pettigrain. Lemons, limes, Sweetgrass, etc... not the fruit sweeties that are currently popular. Then there was the "Oceanic" note craze that was popularized by Aqua Di Gio... For some reason, that particular compound QUICKLY turns into "Wet Dog" with my skin chemistry...so fragrances like that are out for me. Which brings me back to Liz Claiborne Realities For Men... The best of all of those ASPECTS can be found here. There's the slightly sweet aspect, coming from what I perceive as a Plum note. There's that WATER aspect... Not fishy, salty Sea water.... just plain WATER note that gives this fragrance that impression of "clean". There are also LIGHT wood notes to be found here. In my opinion, if this or something exactly like it were to be made today, it'd probably be sold through some Nich company for $100 per ounce or more... Of course the quality would have to outdo that of the last few iterations of the OG, but I'm sure that people would buy it because it's THAT unique, compared to the myriad that's available today. If you like "Freshies" and are tired of too sweet and too oceanic, grab a small bottle of Realities and try it! Cheers

I got this mini bottle as a holiday gift. This fragrance is evolved around green quality of patchouli. It's not overly earthy here because the citrus note keeps trying so hard to freshen up the scent. Once the citrus note is about to give up, something sweet like tonka bean comes in; giving the scent a oriental feel. Woody accord is noticeable, but it's nothing like a strong cedar or agarwood. It's much more subtle. Again, patchouli is always around. It's pleasant, sweet, and somewhat light. It's easiest-to-wear patchouli scent I have encountered.

After extensive research online on user reviews, I decided to give Realities by Liz a try because of its consistent high ratings. However the real reality turned out disappointingly the opposite: Sillage 0 (very weak and unnoticeable even with almost 10 sprays) Longevity 0(see above. Fades away completely in 30 mins or so) Scent 0 (smells no better than cheap soap) Value 5 (affordable) I am completely dumbfounded by my experience in total contrast with others. Was it recently reformalated (for the worst of course)??

A fresh, but dated, powdery scent. It will last throughout the day and even perform after it. I was intrigued by it when I first purchased it but the moment has passed. It is not a natural smelling fragrance and I find it annoying, not offensive, just annoying.

i like it but theres a time and place when this stuff just gets plain cloying and its a bit strong and hard on the nose i havent gotten overly good responses out of people sporting this so id say go easy on it its VERY overpowering but long lasting

Original D&G Pour Homme with ginger. Expensive, yet still more affordable and reliable than finding a vintage D&G bottle. Although, I could do without the nutmeg. Evan Treborn from The Butterfly Effect wears this

I agree with andy and scottyvizz's take on Realities being a complete mirror of D&G. That said, it's pleasant, lasts forever (10+ hours on me), and gets me a lot of compliments. I like it, plain and simple.

I am a woman and I wear this and love it a lot, this last so long on me it's a sexy smell one of the best along side Pleasures for men. Gorgeous. Starlett Jade!

yeah i think this is a good buy it can be purchased dead cheap smells like D&G and lasts longer while it is fresher n less overpowering

I think this smell almost like Joop. Not as strong as Joop but a very underrated fragrance. The price isn't bad. Safe blind buy!

liz hit the ball out the field with this one,similar but not the same as d&g. very affordable and delightfull.long lasting.
