Verveine Fleur de Carotte

I absolutely love this one and really hope they make this permanent. When I first tried it in store I immediately thought of Un Jardin Sur Le Nil but liked this one much better. Although I like Sur Le Nil there’s something nauseating about its base notes (maybe incense?) that makes me hesitant to buy a full bottle. This one I might have to buy a second and maybe third in case they don’t make this permanent. I also like this one much more than the original Verbena. It doesn’t have the lemon candy like sweetness which to me a little cloying during hot summer days. Just refreshing, clean, and refined summer perfume. I wish it lasted longer and projection was better but can’t ask too much for light citrusy fragrance

This fragrance instantly brought to mind the L'Occitane 2012 collection (yes, I am a L'Occ uber fan), Eau Universelle and Eau Captivante. Fleur de Carotte is a great summer fragrance, light and fresh but with more of an herbal twist that one is generally accustomed to from this brand, at least in recent years. It is a great addition to the annual verbena-based summer offerings.

This reminds me strongly of Un jardin sur le Nil, but it is a bit softer and less powerful. A lovely choice for the hot summer days for all those who are looking for a fresh summer scent yet want to avoid the usual citrus or sea salt combos. Is it nice? OMG, it truly is. Is it revolutionary or unique? No, it is not. Is that a problem? No, it is not.

Dissapointing. I used to own and love the original Verveine, which was bright, uplifting vibrant and zen like. This one is just strange, the addition of musk and carrot notes just does not work for me. On a brighter note, i just discovered that Loccitane is now selling their Amande body creme in body mist form.

It wasn’t stupid, because alongside the verbena you had some other familiar herb from the meadows, but it quickly fades away, leaving you unsure what it was about — easily forgettable, or maybe something to buy once as a shower gel.

Very unisex, super acidic and zingy citrus at first with minimal sweetness but dries down to be softer and sweeter. The muskyness really smooths out the lemongrass and verbena the after a while. Definitely has vibes of Sur La Nil, but I don’t think the drydown is as pretty. I’m probably biased because of that ambrofix in the base making this turn a bit sharp and synthetic to my nose, but personally, I’d just invest in a bottle of the classic Hermes!

I'd love for them to make this as a standalone instead of a Verbena. The verbena stood out so much it was like I sprayed it on one wrist, everything else on the other and then waved them around. They didn't blend. Somehow my nose detected the verbena as entirely separate.

Hate to say it, but this is a good dupe for my favorite, Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. The opening is that classic L'Occitane lemony verbena, but it's tempered with musky angelica/ambrette and vegetal carrot. Loud citrus becomes light, dewey garden greenery, a little sweet but wholly fresh. Even the bottle rips off Hermes. I kind of love them for that.

Carrot seeds 🤎 I could not get my hands on the Jo Malone Scottish Highland Collection so I have decided I am gonna hunt this one down instead. I shall leave my review às soon as I can.
