Opens clean with some powdery spiciness reminiscent of Drakkar Noir, but with a chypre edge. There's a beautiful clove and cinnamon leading into a middle base of geranium and moss that resembles Guy Laroche's masterpiece, Horizon, minus the aquatic vegetables. It then dries down into a powdery, aromatic barnyard ambery patchouli. It goes on fresh, then turns into dirty woods, as it sadly fades into obscurity a few hours later. I would say 4-5 sprays if you want to project past arm's length. Even then, it will fade into a skin scent within 2 hours. It's not the loudest scent, and that's what hurts it. This should be reformulated into a powerhouse; it really lacks that edge. If it had more projection, this would be a masterpiece, a quality fragrance for its price of $10, reminiscent of the darker gothic fougère scents of the '80s. I'd rate it 7.8 out of 10. Yes a musky gem, an obscure dry blend of fresh herbal notes, green lime, roots, oakmoss, fern and coniferous resins with a final woody/ambery warmer dry down. Super virile, bracing, saturnine and melancholic. In the same league as Borsalino by Borsalino and Enrico Coveri Pour Homme but more leaned towards the aromatic/fougere side of the moon (with Azzaro's kind of accents). Immensely invigorating at morning with its dry/earthy/musky/gingery feel. Another great classic for straighforward nostalgic moody fellows as me.

Purchased May 2017 This is the best Lomani fragrance. Better than the original pour homme and of course better than modern reformulations of Drakkar Noir. It's not called Best for nothing, this is best for everything! I love this stuff. Re-apply three times per day when I use it.

an obscure gem of a fragrance! This is a musky, fruity, earthy concoction that smells awesome. Very masculine. Cheap in price but not in smell. Glad I discovered this obscure gem.

[They are the three words you probably hate to see in a review but...] FOR THE PRICE, you can't go wrong with a generous spray of something that, if nothing else, leaves you smelling so freshly soap-scrubbed clean that no one will suspect you're wearing cologne. On the other hand, it's acceptable but boring to smell merely soapy clean. However, if that's what you need and you want it in a bottle, then it'll be tough to beat Best. Scentwise, the closest comparison for my nose is a softer, quieter, less complex version of Preferred Stock. Worst thing about it is the poor longevity. I suspect heat and sweat may reactivate it but it's truly sad how quickly the unusual fruit/musk of the opening departs, leaving behind only a vaguely green and woody soapiness which, in turn, also does not last. Bottom line: rather weak, utterly safe, maybe too safe, it will be impossible to offend anyone with this. It's just as unlikely to impress anyone. But it's so meek it's suitable year round. At least it's got that going for it. If it was stronger and lasted longer, it would be great, possibly surpassing Lomani's signature fragrance itself. Alas... If you must have Best, don't pay a cent more than the absolute cheapest bottle you can find.

I was actually looking for a replacement for Penhaligon's "English Fern" that I had a sample of and recently used, and thought this fragrance might be suitable after seeing as it has all seven of English Fern's notes (arranged in a somewhat similar manner), roughly the same accords, and that was an aromatic fougere as well. These two smell nothing alike, but I'm okay with that, because this was actually a pleasantly surprising. While this doesn't smell like English Fern, I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this smells like a cleaner version of Drakkar Noir. That "chemically" smell that another reviewer referred to? I honestly thought I had bought a DN knockoff during the first five to ten seconds after I sprayed this on to test it, but after that went away, what I was left with was the shaving cream note from DN minus the spices and leather.... which makes sense when you look at the scent notes in it, since lavender, moss/oakmoss, and geranium to a certain extent makeup that shaving cream accord. I got my bottle for $11 online, and I would DEFINITELY recommend this as a blind buy fragrance. It's safe. :-D

This has the, Lomani - Pour Homme DNA with creamy Lemon Meringue. I nearly wrote this one off, because of the crap chemical opening... keep spraying and you'll get passed that mess. It'll be, screachy but, nice. Niche snobs will hate this. You need to over-spray, otherwise its weak and won't project.

@SPNKr: I am wondering if any of the other folks reviewing this product have ever been in a gym locker room, specifically a MEN'S gym locker room. Why, you ask? I love Lomani's fragrances, especially for the price point in comparison to the quality and variety of exceptional fragrances. They even have some really nice bottles with "almost niche" presentations. However, Lomani's Best is a huge disappointment. Now, the gym reference: If you have ever been in more than one men's locker room, you will know that they ALL, every one of them, smell exactly the same, kind of like cheap underarm deodorant ineffectively masking unclean body crevice-type human odor! Best is a bottle of that smell without a doubt! The notes shown here are nowhere to be found. This is a combination of Right Guard, Gillette, Dove Men Care, and Degree all rolled up into a cheap bottle with an atrociously cheap, thin plastic cap! So when you increase the scope of what I am saying a bit, you can conclude that Best smells like an armpit. Yes, guys, metaphorically speaking, Lomani Best is an armpit or a gym sock! There are only about 1 - 2 hours of longevity, thank goodness. The sillage is moderate, as well as the projection. You will NEVER get a compliment from this fragrance, maybe dirty looks, but that's about it for "scent interaction." Hey, some dudes dig that kind of thing. Right? Well, let's break it down: Projection - 5/10 Sillage - 5/10 Longevity - 2/10 Fragrance - 0/10 Compliments - 0/10 Seasons - Spring, Summer Time - Day only; you will NEVER get any "night action" with this one. Lomani can do so much better. Even for the $5 - $10 price tag, I cannot recommend it, unless, of course, you want to smell like a sock or a pit. Pass on this one, guys! QUICK NOTE: The notes are similar, yes, but Lomani Pour Homme hits it out of the park in comparison, even though that one smells just like Irish Spring! Nevertheless, Irish Spring is awesome, and women love it!

Sorry, but Lomani Best smells like an unfinished fragrance. It starts off terrible, like a bad knockoff of Drakkar Noir. Fortunately the opening is short lived, and the scent improves. Best dries down to what smells like a sloppy imitation of a green leather chypre from the 70s. At other times it reminds me of a bad clone the first Perry Ellis fragrance for men, the one from the 80s. It's got that "glory note" that defines so many 80s fragrances: the accord of moss, labdanum and leather, but it's unbalanced and rough. Don't think you're gonna get the equivalent of a great 80s power scent like Giorgio For Men for $10 here. All the well known powerhouse fragrances are far better than this. Best isn't repulsive, and in fact is at times somewhat enjoyable, if you like green chypres. I think the problem is that it's made with poor quality ingredients, and they don't blend well together. It's poorly constructed, as if it's a puzzle with pieces missing from it. This is a ten dollar fragrance, and it smells like one. After four wearings, I put my bottle where it belongs - in the trash!

I've always liked Lomani fragrances, especially Lomani Pour Homme and El Paso. Recently, I tried Best and I have to say, I found it really intriguing. Best has a distinct, musky scent that reminds me of my high school days back in the 80s. It's not your typical fragrance, but it has a special charm that I think anyone who loves retro fragrances will appreciate. Best has a classic feel to it that will add a touch of nostalgia to your fragrance collection. Plus, it's super affordable, only $10! I definitely recommend giving Best a try if you're looking for something unique and different.

This is a very nice scent, has a floral / fruit vibe at first then sets down to a musky scent, fits with the Oriental fougere description, lasts a decent amount of time on my skin 6 hours plus, the look of the bottle and the scent has that vintage drug store cologne presentation to it. I this “Best” by Lomani is actually the second best when compared to Lomani pour Homme lol but this is a great buy for the price but you must enjoy classic style scents. Definitely worth picking up !

Who’s writing these negative reviews? The niche folks? This was $10. It’s a lot like Pour Homme which is fabulous. Barbershop fragrance. Fantastic. If this were in a snazzy bottle (which you’re paying for with these ultra expensive niche fragrances, it could be sold for a couple hundred bucks. People, my dear brothers and sisters, you're paying for bottles, not juice. Love it

Lomani Best is really, really spicy and woody in the opening, with a distinct dryness. I prefer Taxi by Cofinluxe to Lomani Best, but the prices of Taxi went up above 10 dollars. Borsalino by Borsalino is also a lot nicer. The projection of Lomani Best really never goes beyond a skin scent. Definitely smells like something you would buy at the drug store in the 1980's.

Quite similar to its bigger brother, Lomani pour homme, except less sharp, less spicy, more mellow. Its a nice everyday scent that you can wear to the grocery store, gym or other casual outings. It is a bit weak, but makes a much nicer alternative to a can of body spray for a similar price. Definitely for the more mature guy over 35.

I tried this long ago, and from what I remember, I thought it began similar to Cool Water and ended like a Mugler Pure base, perhaps "Pure Spicy." Is my memory correct?
