Lucky You for Men

Gorgeously green grassy goodness. The smell of lush green grass that has just barely started to dry from the morning dew in the April sun. You'll be hard pressed to find anything this amazing for this cheap of a price. Only projects moderately for an hour before becoming a skin scent that lasts maybe three more hours tops. I've seen people compare this to Curve minus the fruit notes, but who wants fruit in their grass? If anyone knows of another grass dominant fragrance that lasts longer than this please let me know. Until then, I'm writing a letter to the Lucky Brand CEO to ask him to make an extreme EDP version of this: Carlos Alberini 540 S Santa Fe Ave Los Angeles, CA 90013

I just got this again after not smelling it since around 2000/2001. It’s hard for me to smell it without getting emotional. It belonged to my big brother, and I would always sneak some when he was away. I’d be in there snooping around while listening to his Incubus cd, knowing he’d kick my butt if he came home. It smells just like I remember it then. Very green, and somewhat sharp, and I sort of get this gasoline smell under it all. It was cool then, and it’s beautiful now. When I smell this, I’ll think of who I was back then. Who we all were back then. Parts of me have been lost to time over the years, but now I can have a tiny piece back.

Absolutely one of my favorites. And No I am NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS AS OTHER REVIEWERS SUGGEST OF PEOPLE WHO LIKE THIS COLOGNE!! I have been wearing this since I was 10 I am almost 24 now This is a regular in my cologne rotations. It is just awesome everything about this cologne is perfect. I am glad that it is no longer sold in department stores and has come down in price I remember when it was first introduced it was about 50.00 for the small and at that time I couldn't afford it so I had to rely on samples but only for special occasions. Perfect in everyway and they should never change it.

Had a bottle in middle school and going into 9th grade back in 2003. I just now bought a second bottle and it smells EXACTLY the same! So glad it hasn’t been reformulated like so many other fragrances have. It’s an easy blind buy. Very linear, super fresh out the shower scent. While I wouldn’t wear it on a date night, it works for basically anything else! And for $20 for a 100 ML you really can’t pass it up. I would put this above nautica voyage, cool water, aspen, or any other classic freshie. It’s great 9/10

This was one of the big five that got me into frags. Preferred Stock in my early teens, Cool Water in my late teens, Aqua Di Gio and this in my 20’s and 30’s. And finally, La Coste Blanc in my 40’s and then I just jumped into collecting with both feet. All that to say this: I really love this stuff. It’s fresh and clean and so inexpensive. I always got compliments with it. Such a simple thing to wear. Truly a dumb reach.

This was a big hit in the early 2000's when I was in high school. I remember I had friends that wore this and it was good and noticeable. I have a small bottle of this now and I love it! It smells so green and fresh. It's a real grassy green scent and it is very appealing. Women will like this one and it's very youthful smelling (Teens to 30's). I need to get a bigger bottle! I give this a 9.3/10

I would follow a man to the end of the world if he trailed this cologne behind him. This one is one of my all-time favorite men’s colognes. I always make sure my husband has a bottle. And I’m not opposed to wearing it myself. I like to spray myself with it at night fresh out of the shower when I’m getting in bed. This is such a clean innocent fragrance. Reminds me of being young again.

I haven't worn this for a few years now until today and I've been missing out! I forgot how much I enjoy this fragrance, simple and clean. It sort of reminds me of Mugler Cologne. It's going back into my rotation. BTW, why is there this "Lucky You for Men" and another one in the database called "Luck You Liz Claiborne"? They look identical but the notes are different.

Uncomplicated, unfussy, and mostly linear on my skin. After an initial sharp burst, it morphs into what reminds me of a glass of lemonade sweetened with a floral-infused sugar. I enjoy it, and find myself gravitating to it on weekends rather than for office or formal wear. Its sweetness would work well on a woman...

This is the absolute perfect fragrance for a garden party, walk in the park, or any other summer/spring, casual, outdoor activity. Performs very well in the sun and heat. If you enjoyed the (sadly) discontinued Gap Gras, then this is a decent substitute.

I revisited this beauty after many many years and I still love it! I'm not sure how old my bottle is but I'm guessing at least 15 years. To me this is a hidden gem and stills smells great. Nice green, clean and refreshing.

Clean, fresh, green, sporty!! A great smell that most people will like. Moderate projection, lasts about 3-4 hours before it's completely gone. In the same family as Alfred Sung Paradise but a million times better IMO.

Very clean, fresh and crisp soapy with a little floral and some subtle masculinity, definitely love it a very good cheapy has some nostalgia for me as well price and performance on this make it 8 out of 10.

someone said it smells like celery lol, i see it. fresh + green opening, musk + wood in the dry down creates a sharp green scent, cant go wrong with this for less than 20 bucks!!

Absolutely one of my favorites... I adore this fragrance. It would mean a lot to me if it would last longer, it's like the sent is gone within 15 minutes smh.

the first spray smells woody and spicy but the dry down smells really clean fresh and green. in my opinion this is more of a young, teenager scent.

I wore this all the time in high school I remember it being amazing in my opinion ... this is one I need to try again... :)

Lucky You Men Cologne opens very softly with notes of fresh grass and floral notes that resemble lavender. The grass note isn’t too strong, is rather a green touch added for freshness; similarly, the floral notes are there to create a soft clean-like aroma. The cardamon listed as a mid-note is almost imperceptible. In just a moment, the fain base-notes can be perceived, and, rather than individual notes, they all come up as a mix of soft woody, and green accords. The opening is very weak; the dry-down is even weaker. Once Lucky You Men Cologne has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a very poor performing, soft green (grass-like) and soft floral (lavender-like) fragrance with faint woody and spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, clean, fresh, light, refreshing, sporty, masculine, young, diurnal, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 5/10. This is a pleasant, fresh, pleasant but far from great. DISLIKE RATING: 0/10. This fragrance does not contain offensive notes. UNIQUENESS: 4/10. Green fresh fragrances are very common. MASS APPEAL: 8/10. This is a fragrance that most will find it pleasant. PROJECTION: 1/10. Very Low, almost a skin scent. SILLAGE: 1/10. Very low, almost none. APPLICATION: Six atomizations or more atomizations, spray your clothes to improve performance. LONGEVITY: 1/10. Very low, the fragrance does not project and it barely reaches the hour as a skin scent. SEASONS: Spring and summer. The fragrance is too weak for winter or fall. OCCASIONS: Outdoor gatherings, gym, casual. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 7/10. Very good. GENDER: Masculine. The wood and spicy notes lean it to the masculine side but not for much. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: This fragrance can be found discounted for $15. However, and based on how poorly performs and how faint its notes are, this fragrance should cost $2. Its poor performance is a major disappointment. Don’t buy it. BLIND-BUY: Yes. However, consider its poor performance. SIMILAR: Sport and fresh fragrances are very common; it is also very common their low performance. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense is a moderate performing sport and casual-wear fragrance. If you are looking for a reasonable priced and good performing fresh fragrance, consider the clone house Grand Parfums, some of their best clones are Bond No 9 Men’s Scent for Peace, Eros and Y live, all for under $20. SUMMARY: A very poor performing, soft green (grass-like), and soft floral (lavender-like) fragrance with faint woody and spicy accords. The fragrance feels airy, clean, fresh, light, refreshing, sporty, masculine, young, diurnal, and pleasant.

I like what jcastano said here as well as interesting perspective from JazzBirdSinger. I find it to be synthetic, but there is something I am fond of here - and I believe it to be the fun, young, clean, green grassy notes and a nice clover with cardamom & tamarind that blend well with the cotton flower & bamboo in the heart. A nice bright opening that is a bit sharp (with some alcohol on top) but calms down nicely. Then, the rosewood, sandalwood and teak wood notes appear along with a nice white musk - it's all clean fun with just enough of that "something" in the green-colored juice that makes me say - "Hey, this is fun!" Maybe I like it because I don't have to take it too serious. Also, I got this when it first came out. I was in my mid-to-late 20's, just got married and my wife threw it in while were buying a pair of Lucky Jeans for each of us. She got the pink juice in the bottle "For Women" and it was all smiles. :-) I guess, strangely, this has stayed around in my Spring/Summer rotation for simply feeling good. I last bought a bottle for myself and my wife (for memory's sake about 2 years or so ago). To me, this is a sort of aromatherapy/happy/relaxing scent. That is what I like about jcastano's review - he gets the "vibe" that I do with this...mine is just a little less serious, but I like it all the same. I cannot possibly compare this to anything in the fragrance world that is of high-quality, but for the price and knowing you get a blast of youth and green notes with a fair drydown...all-in-all, it just seems to hang around. I have eliminated a lot of fragrances from my youth, but this one came a bit later and it was sheer, playful joy then...and it remains so. No score. Just something I will occassionally spray on, smell fresh and go to something more serious in the evening. But, surpringly, this one still gets compliments. In the end, this just makes me feel a bit happier when I put it on - a totally casual scent that will not offend anyone, including you. Smile. Be happy. "Lucky You"...as, you are able to spend a little money on a bottle of fragrance and spray it on to smell good for a few hours while the same amount of money could feed an entire family in a Third World country for several days.
