Avant Silk

This is a very regal perfume. I’ve never smelled the og, but this is very nice once it settles. I’m sure as it sits it will mellow even more. It’s very dark fruit, incense and leather. I get a little sweetness too, but it’s a stewed fruit/rum kind of sweetness not sugar. I was worried after I read the reviews but I’m glad I took a chance on this! For the price, it’s worth it.

These are not the correct notes! This is an excellent clone of queen of silk, in the air you would be hard pressed to tell them apart and it lasts 8 hours on my skin, longer on clothes.

I bought this bc of the reviewer who said this is what a Dominatrix would smell like. It arrived on February 6th, 2026 and I immediately hated it. That's not even a strong enough word for how much I absolutely detested this sucker. And it had HANG TIME too, which was even worse. I put it back in its box and tucked it into the 'fume Tomb to rest and HOPEFULLY smooth out and become something I didnt want to throw through a plate glass window. I checked it a few times between now and then and always felt the same way. Pure dislike. Its cool and breezy here today, and there is a definite nip in the air. I decided to check on Avant Silk again, just to see. Still smells bad when sniffing the bottle. I did two sprays on my breast bone and WOW! SUCH a different (and better!) experience than sniffing the nozzle!! I LIKE it now! After I sprayed it on, I decided to apply some Equate Divine Cocoa body oil gel (not for layering; I was really dry and itchy) and I have to say, the smooth cocoa scent is mixing with the Avant Silk and Im not mad at it! Im smelling yummy and thats awesome! Im glad I listened to that reviewer who said this is what a Dominatrix smells like. I didnt have anything like this in my collection and now I do! As far as how this smells, I smell dark flowers and a sweet softness. Yum!

Just took this out after having left it in the cabinet to mature for several months. Boy! It is still incredibly potent! I have to say, on me it cruises directly to the base notes. Strong patchouli, amber and musk! I have to get to know it better, but I don’t think I enjoy this one much. I get something very menthol/medicinal mixed with a creamy somewhat nutty and leathery scent. It does settle down a bit after twenty minutes or so, but even for me, I just think it’s too in your face. I love a louder fragrance typically but this is maybe too loud and too unusual for me to enjoy. I don’t even think I’d enjoy this on my husband. I think this may be an “either you love it or you hate it” kind of scent. I’m not quite sure where I fall, I need to get to know it better. However, right now I’m leaning for the latter. I don’t find this feminine or sexy. Perhaps it needs a bit longer in the cabinet to mature further. I’ll revisit this again in a couple months before I start pulling out my spring scents and update if it changes. Ok, three hours later, it has settled down so much! I really am starting to enjoy it! This may be one that I only love the deep drydown! I would have to spray this lightly in the morning for it to smell beautiful by dinner but I do think I can grow to like it. I think I don’t care for the saffron leather combo. Once that fades it’s so much more pleasant to my nose. I may keep this and let it sit for about a year and then see how it goes before I get rid of it.

Yo le siento mucho cuero, oud, una nota fuerte como un aceite de moto. Ja. Lo siento unisex. Me lo halagaron en el trabajo, cuando se asienta queda un aroma diferente al resto yo lo siento del estilo del Givenchy play intense que tambien lo tengo para que tengan una idea. Lo obtuve de un canje por otro perfume. Saludos.

Take a typical sunscreen DNA, make it much less creamy and more-so like chalk. This smells like how I imagine blackboard chalk to smell like, though I haven't actually smelt chalk in a long time. I really don't understand the appeal -- this is a dislike from me. I've had my bottle for a few months now so it should be fully maturated (~8 sprays expelled immediately upon opening a few months ago; a further ~4 sprays expelled afterwards). I haven't smelt the OG though.

On my skin In the dry down smells like a Fancy black pepper and a smooth leather. I'm trying my my best to like this. Update: this has mascerated for 6 months. If this is what Queen of Silk smells like not good. The Patchouli over powers everything. It smells like a version of pine sol on my skin. This isn't for everyone. I wouldn't recommend this.

This one is strange as I liked it better before it macerated/matured! When I first got it it was floral but with a really nice earthiness that I assumed was the cypriol and patchouli, but now that it's matured it just smells like my other copy of Queen of Silk. Oh well. It still smells good.

Feel like this serves as an office/work scent—church or special occasion. Gorgeous in the air once the oud note settles. Definitely smooth like silk and can see the comparison to be worn by King/Queen (royalty).

Ohh no....Am I really the only one who smells this horrible motor oil / paint-like scent coming from this perfume? Does anyone have an idea what I might be picking up on in it?

This is what a Dominatrix should smell like, no doubt. Feminine, but not too much. Approachable, but not too much. Spicy, but not too much. Weird, but not too much.
