Baroque Rouge 540

I can't tell the difference between this and MFK BR540 (smell wise). I have tested this against the OG on my skin, and they smell exactly the same. I thought I was crazy, so I asked friends and family to tell me if they can tell the difference. They can't! Nobody I know can. I already have BR540 (which now I regret) so I don't have use for a dupe; but I've been buying Alhambra Baroque as gifts for others I know that love the OG MFK, and everyone looooves this! I even get calls from other friends, who heard from another friend, and they ask me things like "hey, I heard you know a good cheapie BR540? Can you get one for me?" This is an absolute hidden gem in Fragcom. There are very few reviews on it on YouTube, and I just recently saw it pop up on Fragrantica. But I've been buying this stuff for a couple of years now. I can say with certainty, you can stop looking everywhere for another BR540 dupe; this is THE one to get. Ok, so it does sound too good to be true, so is there a catch? Well, I'd say Baroque is not as heavy in projection and sillage as the OG, but don't get me wrong, it is a strong projector! However, this one is 15-20 bucks for 100ml where as the MFK is 400+ (and still going up) so you can afford to overspray this one if you choose. Having said that, I have retired my journey with BR540 altogether. I gave away my bottle to my significant other and honestly I can't stand the stuff anymore. There was a time that BR540 was one of my favorites of all time, but I used it way too much, to the point that now I find it repulsive. Never thought that that would be a reason why I would stop using a fragrance, but that's all part of the experience I suppose.

First off, not sure if the notes are accurate here. In my own search I found multiple pyramids for this. BUT one did mention ambergris, oakmoss, cederwood & leather. So with those in mind along with saffron ....this is the type of notes I'm getting with this scent. It's giving a very airy crystalized sugar effect. To me it's not a dupe of BR540 straight but rather it's a simplified aspect of 540. I received this about 6 months ago and have let it sit for almost that long so my bottle is super strong. I only need to get it out of storage to smell the scent in the air. So I highly suggest maceration with this. My bottle is a beast in both longevity and projection now. Love the scent and very happy I picked this up. Side note: In comparison to the red bottle extract version of this...it's a little bit stronger but sits closer to skin. Bought this bottle four months ago. The first impression was absolute disdain because it reeked of alcohol the first spray. I tried it in for several days hoping for any other smell to manifest but that did not happen. In my disappointment, I chucked the bottle to the side and forgot about it. Flash forward to this year, when I found it while packing my stuff. I was set to discard this altogether, however I gave it one last spray and I honestly was electrified. It smelled amazing! It’s much closer to Ariana Grande’s Cloud than the original inspiration, but I am in love with it! I did not think it would perform well given the initial impressions, but after a day worth of packing and doing intense work, I could still smell it on my skin and clothes. People have noticed it too! It’s the first thing they notice when I enter the room. It’s not cloyingly sweet and it doesn’t slap you in the face like the original BR540, but it makes itself known like a breeze under your nose. I’ve been wearing it for days now and I am still smitten over this bottle. What a steal for $18.99!

For the price point (around 30 euro) this is a great fragrance. To my nose this dupe and BR540 are near identical in the air. On skin I notice the Baroque is more linear and quickly moves to ambroxan and musk after about 20 minutes, while retaining the almost syrupy sweetness of saffron throughout. I don't get much mandarin, nor do I get much of anything floral on my skin but everyone's chemistry is different. I have not experienced any nose blindness, and while this seems to go to skin scent after about 60-90 minutes for me, I get wafts throughout the day for anywhere from 6-8 hours. I'm fine with that at this is quite a sweet fragrance which could be overpowering for some people if projection was high. Overall I rate this quite highly, and especially for the price, this is a winner if you like the BR540 vibe.

I think a lot of people will be or go nose blind to this scent, much like they do with Baccarat Rouge 540. I did with BR540 but a reviewer on it's page here had a trick for this issue. It seemed way too simple but it worked for me and I've never had problems smelling any version of 540 since... 1. Spray it on something, shirt or some cloth in another closed door room ...& try not to smell it as you do so(hold breath). 2. Leave the article in that room. 3. Come back 5 minutes later and smell the room air & article. May not work for everyone but it's worth a try imo.

I have tried almost all 504 clones around, I also have the real thing and in my opinion it is the best of all the clones I have tried. Way better than Untold as it does not have this obsessed focus on the bandage note, it is there but it is the way the original plays with it. It is not as perfect as 504 but if you are still looking for a good dupe stop searching and get this stuff.

I really like BR 540. I have many similar scents to BR 540 and this is the closest to the original that I've tried. And most importantly, the price is a lot cheaper than BR 540. I can spray a lot of this scent. without having to worry about wastage. This is what makes me love this scent so much.

This smells pretty good! I have baccarat and I had tried a previous clone in Amber Oud by Al Haramain. This smells really good! Of course very similar to baccarat but there’s this deeper, toasted, sweet sugariness to this! I really like it. Glad I scored a bottle.

LOVE as a dupe. I've tried a few dupes and this one is my favorite. It does initially have a minty gasoline smell, but it lingers forever and I get constant compliments when I wear this. All season wear.

To me this is better clone than Armaf Untold akd Zara Red for him and its linger lasting too. It leans more to male side but it is basicaly unisex. Very versatile.

This perfume is AMAZING! It's warm, spicy and slightly sweet with a hint of something floral. I get so many compliments when I wear it. Definitely worth the hype!

#606,607 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I've had Alhambra's Baroque Rouge 540 and Baroque Rouge Extrait for over a year and I've waited to evaluate them expecting Baroque Rouge Extrait to appear in the Fragrantica database, which it apparently won't anytime soon, so spotting those bottles as I rearranged my scent shelves again this morning, I decided not to bother delaying any further and that I would comment on both here. First off, Baroque Rouge 540, as you'd surmise, is an attempted clone of Maison Francis Kirkdjian's insanely popular Baccarat Rouge 540, and once you get past the lily blast of the opening, it's an acceptable approximation for someone like me who isn't really a fan of that MFK fragrance, especially not for men. I paid $15 for this clone on Amazon. I know one middle-age mom that wears the original religiously and has since it's introduction in 2015, and occasionally when you find BR540 and this clone listed for sale, they are in fact labeled a women's fragrance, and I think for good reason. A man could get away with wearing this Alhambra scent, but probably shouldn't. It's very floral, even more than the BR540 itself. I'm good with a scent that has some saffron, or some jasmine, or some lily, but the presence of all three is really more feminine than I care to drift. The florals do calm down in an hour or so and this becomes a bit more more unisex, but I would not normally wear a scent that isn't acceptably unisex to my nose until mid-morning. Baroque Rouge 540 has better than average longevity and projection, and for that reason I think it's a straight up bargain for BR540 fans, but it's a clone I'd point you to as your most economic option, not the clone option I'd recommend. I prefer the scent of the slightly more expensive Al Haramain Amber Oud Rouge, which to me is closer in scent to BR540, as it lacks this fragrance's lily note, a note not featured in MFK's BR540, making it a bit less floral and more unisex to my taste from the get go. Baroque Rouge Extrait, as you'd deduce, is intended to be a clone of MFK Baccarat Rouge Extrait. It'll run you about $17 from US retailers like Jomashop. Again, pretty darn close, maybe a tad less of the almond note than the MFK original. I can and do occasionally care to wear this one as it is less floral, a bit more ambery, but again, I recommend this as a bargain option for the cost-conscious, though it certainly doesn't smell cheap at all, performs well, but is just slightly off. Could be the MFK extrait is using a different wood. I can't really nail it down. But again, I think Al Haramain has a better version available, that's still in a reasonable price range, Amber Oud Ruby, which is slightly woodier and nuttier than than the Alhambra, and to me better duplicates the richer, warmer scent of Baccarat Rouge Extrait de Parfum. All that said, I think these Alhambra scents are incredible scents at an incredible price and I can't imagine anyone hating themselves for spending the small amount of cash they cost. I don't know that I'd wear Baroque Rouge 540 in a car pool. The florals really project for the first hour, and for me at least, that can get uncomfortable in close proximity without ventilation. Seems a bit formal to me for casual wear, but be your own guide. In any case I'd go very light. I think the Extrait is safer in close spaces, more suitable for unisex wear and more a day or night scent. Given the low prices, I think both are safe blind buys. Even if they don't exactly suit you, you'll have no trouble finding someone who'll appreciate them as a gift. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

I blind bought this ( as usual) but kind of knowing what to expect since I already have Lattafas Ana abiyedh rouge which is the one I'm going to compare it to and not the OG. I bought it for a very low price out of curiosity. So this one opens a lot sharper and has much more alcohol in the opening then it tones down but keeps staying sharper and sweeter than AAR. After the dry down they're pretty much the same to my nose except that the AAR smells a bit more refined and smother giving it that higher quality feeling. Both of them are cheap so the price is not a factor here. Personally I'm a big fan of Maison Alhambra's scents but if I have to choose , I'd pick AAR by Lattafas even though they are basically the same company. Maison Alhambra focuses on affordable dupes which got me into collecting in the first place. It's great for beginners since they clearly reveal what they're cloning and many times they're pretty accurate. The price determines the quality but I'd say it's above mediocre. In conclusion: If you like BR 540 type of scents you'll like this one , especially considering the low price. Don't expect a 1 to 1 clone but it will get the job done.

I agree with a lot of what @coffeebean83 said. It’s very simple and compared to BR540 it does lack a certain depth, but in the air they are nearly indistinguishable in my opinion. I’ve also had mine sitting for 6-7 months and I get great performance, 8hr+ longevity with 2-3hrs good projection, but YOU WILL GO NOSEBLIND! I go so anosmic to this stuff SO fast, same with BR540 (and most ambroxan heavy fragrances), but it is still there and you will catch it in the air every once in a while. Nice alternative, I’d take this over Ana Abiyedh Rouge and the other clones simply due to the low price and strong performance. 4/5, does what it should well. I was happy to see them add this just because I want to have my whole collection on here. I wish they’d add Baroque Satin Oud because it’s all that’s missing now and I’m curious what others think.

Ambroxan heavy BR540 clone, much like Fragrance World Barrakat 540... Smells great, but had a weaker scent that I tend to go anosmic to, just like Barrakat 540 and most of the rest of the BR540 clones... 🙄 I discovered BR540 before quitting smoking, and I swear, it's the one scent where I used to be able to smell it better BEFORE quitting smoking. Now it hits my nostrils in such an attention grabbing manner that I go anosmic to it after a few sniffs (and my sense of smell is SUPER strong after quitting smoking). It's been 3 years now since quitting, and I'm still looking for a good BR540 clone, and I've smelled most of the "good" clones out there! The best thing I've found was an oil that I bought from SunAroma.

I already have multiple BR540 dupes but I couldn’t resist myself from trying this. I think I have tried almost every dupe available and it has become a kind of hobby for me LOL. I think it is the closest dupe you can get at 15$-20$ price range and it is better than another dupe from Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Rouge. It is even better than Armaf Untold considering the price. It is not perfect has a floral aspect but it is really cheap. Initially is was little weak. It becomes long lasting and gets really strong after few months. I also have the red bottle which is meant to be a dupe for the extrait but to my nose the red one is little fruitier and sweeter version of this.

I really enjoy the smell and it reminds me of the Lattafa rogue I’ve never smelled the original of the 540 so I don’t know how to compare it but I love and enjoy this one only problem with this one is doesn’t last long on me so I have to overspray, but it’s pretty good. The price waswas cheap and good for might pocket so I grabbed it in like I said it’s not bad at all. It’s just I wish it would last longer on me.

yes, this is a very competent Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum dupe. really close, performs as weird as the MFK, that come and go effect very characteristic of BR540 EDP. the opening has an non-beverage alcohol blast that is not pleasant, but it's quick, maybe less than a minute. other than that, for this price it's almost unbelievable how close to the real thing this is.

Sadly I go anosmic to this perfume after a short time. It's frustrating! It opens with pear and saffron. It's softy and really pretty. It transitions to a beautiful woody scent. I love it. Right up my alley. Then I go anosmic. It's not the perfumes fault . I allowed at least a month to macerate. It really starts to bring out the notes after a little time.
