This is a very intense and powerful fragrance. A quite strong blend of sweet, incense, amber, woody and vanilla notes. It's smoky, sweet and sophisticated. It's just crying out to be used during intimate occasions and of course date night. This is fantastic for both male and female amber lovers, especially older ones who will really appreciate it. Younger users who prefer the sweet and fresh style of fragrance might not find this as appealing. Those who dislike sweet fragrances in general should avoid and the incense note is bound to be polarizing to some noses. Still, this is an incredible scent overall. Performance is really good, the price is good, and it's good for sexes. Highly recommended.

Wow much emotion about this perfume! Settle TFD before you embarrass yourselves. Everyone perceives things differently and any number of biological differences change how every scent formula is perceived. My nose picks up a resinous amber like charred amberwood, a campfire-like smokiness of burnt sandalwood and juniper branches (which smells completely different than juniper berries) and a hint of a milky vanillic barely-there powdery touch on the eventual dry down. And on my skin this perfume still hasn't gone away! I sprayed it on one spot inside my right arm 24 HOURS AGO and I can still clearly and distinctly smell it through my hoodie! So all in all, I'm blown away at the savory smokiness of this powerful perfume. I'm grateful for the low price because it's a challenge to wear in close quarters or as a daily scent. In spite of this, it actually plays really well with other perfumes and is a surprisingly good layering scent. 7.5/10 Too powerful for its own good but makes a great friend. ❤️❤️❤️

This is something for TF clones collectors. I bought it with this notion as well. However, I would say this smells great, much sharper and a bit drier than encre noire ( if someone wants to compare it to LEN, though this smells quite different to LEN). I can detect every notes except Vanilla. I will have to give it time to macerate I believe. It smells dark , woody and ambery which it supposed to smell. I consider it as a great value for money. I am getting good 7-8 hours of longevity though sillage should have been better. Yes, this is for matures but it can be layered with any sweet fragrance.

So gorgeous, this one. I definitely am so into these kinds of fragrances right now. Very warm and incense forward, but it doesn’t give me ‘church’ incense. It’s a kind of giving me myrrh vibes (which, a good myrrh was exactly what I was looking for). I haven’t smelled the Tom Ford fragrance that this one was inspired by, but I’m definitely happy with the clone. So pleasant. Such a good performer too. It’s giving me what I hoped Purple Mantra was going to give me (minus the lavender) – but Purple Mantra was definitely a disappointment compared to this one.

Mysterious Amber is austere and almost monastic in its approach to amber. It strips away the usual warmth and sweetness, leaving something sharp, dry, and enigmatic. On first spray, there is no cozy resinous embrace, no immediate depth or booziness like Amber Absolute. Instead, it leans closer to the ascetic incense of Sahara Noir, with an opening that feels almost like a solinote of frankincense. The first impression is pure olibanum, raw and mineralic, edged with pepper, and a musk that leans animalic. There is something civet-like here, almost vintage in feel, reminiscent of old school chypres or even the soft powdery depth of classic deer musk. For the first hour, the fragrance stays in this stark, almost challenging space, smoky and slightly feral. But slowly, it begins to shift. As it settles, a whisper of booziness emerges, like a forgotten trace of warmth in an otherwise cold structure. Vanilla peeks through, restrained and never tipping into sweetness. The drydown is where modernity takes over, with waves of Javanol and Iso E Super smoothing the edges. These woody aromatics give it a radiant, airy quality, extending its presence without ever feeling heavy or dense. Mysterious Amber is not a straightforward amber. It does not wrap you in plush, golden warmth. Instead, it is austere, built of incense and musk, its richness unfolding only in glimpses. Those who love resinous, smoky compositions with a touch of the animalic may find something fascinating here. The tunnel-visioned focus on resins in this fragrance is strikingly similar to a sample I have of the eye-wateringly expensive 40 Million Year Old Amber by DS&Durga ($700 USD for 50mL). But if you are looking for a more saccharine richness and excess on the level of Amber Absolute? You'll be left wanting.

Just opened up my box and im getting a few extra notes not listed, namely citrus (bergamont maybe?) and ambroxan. There is also a present boozy note at the start that lingers for a few minutes. Maybe my bottle needs to sit for a while, even though currently, it still smells pleasant.

I've let my bottle sit for about a month after spraying it a few times. It does smell better now than when I first got it. I hope that in time this fragrance will only get better. The opening has a similar freshness to Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. It has more of a green resinous feel and yet not as complex as Ambre Sultan. The drydown is closer Tom Ford Amber Absolute where some of the Vanilla starts to show itself. Maison Alhambra Mysterious Amber lacks some of the richness, sweetness, and depth that Amber Absolute has from beginning to end, but is quite close to the overall scent profile. For a clone that is a fraction of the price of a discontinued classic, I'd say this is worth owning. Just don't expect it to be a 1 to 1 of Amber Absolute.

I love an amber fragrance, and I also love a fragrance that leans a little masculine. At first spray, this smelled like smoky pine with a touch of leather to me. I actually think this would smell beautiful in a candle for the holidays! However, as a fragrance to put on my body, I just don’t love it. I do find it too masculine for my personal taste, so I may give it to my husband. If it doesn’t work for him, I’ll probably actually use it for a room spray and love it!

#1166 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I imagine a lot of people, like me, were hoping this is a low cost dupe of Serge Lutens "Ambre Sultan", but it's not. The Serge Lutens is much more aggressive. But still, for $20 this is not bad, though you'll definitely respray at lunch. Mild amber, very mild incense, not sweet at all. Versatile for any use. And for $20 I'm content.

Mysterious Amber Perfume is strong in spices and weak in wood notes. The wood notes are unrealistic; Mysterious Amber uses two kinds of wood: a camphorous, lighter wood, and a second hard, "furniture" wood. The spice opens with Citrusy Ginger. This makes everything feel lighter and airy, but it also contributes to the impression of a generic spice perfume. Yes, there are faint, dirty animalic notes, but they only appear in the mid-phase for about five minutes. The scent It a very common Animalic Roll On on street vendors in Asia. Mysterious Amber is strongest in the Warm and Bold Spices of the base, and this aspect is quite realistic. On the other hand, the strong spice can smell curry-like at times. In the long history of spice-themed perfumes, Mysterious Amber, to me, is categorized as a Classic Spice. It is a recipe that has been recreated time and time again; to make matters worse, Mysterious Amber was crafted without anything truly memorable in either the opening or the base.

I'm a hundred and forty two bottles into my new addiction, and this is the first one i had to just tap out and scrub it off my arm. Nose might not be this refined yet. Not sure if it's the incense or the amber, but ...... Damn! Scrub Daddy is about to enter round two because I STILL SMELL IT. Omg

Based on vague memory, it’s quite similar to Tom Ford Myrrhe Mystere. Has similarities (but less so) to Amouage Interlude Man. All are very resinous, although I don't have knowledge of resins to say which one I'm smelling. This smells like a scent for meditation and introspection, and is a very nice scent for that. I thought this might be a sexy scent based on the notes (I was expecting smoky amber), but it’s definitely not a sexy scent because of the prominent resins. Hardly wearable but very nice for at home on occasion, and I definitely like this scent, personally.

if you've ever had to split firewood for winter you will know this smell. Very manly. I can admit that this is too manly for me, this fragrance is RUGGED. If you drive a pickup with a lift kit...this is for you. after 1 month maceration i can tell you the woodsiness is even more pronounced. it obscures the vanilla completely.

@sim0nsalas : How's that incense note? More like a church incense or some burning smoke? I haven't had the chance to try Amber Absolute so I wouldn't be able to compare. How's the general feel of the fragrance if the vanilla is shy, then what do you get from it mostly?

Heavily incensed labdanum on a soft woody base. And it is a heavy church-like incense. The vanilla note could be deleted from the list as it cannot be detected at all. Masculine.

Notes felt far too linear. Was bordering on church but it was no where near as complex as I had hoped and I grew bored of this really quick so ended up selling my bottle.

Returned as all it was was smoke incense not even a church like incense but generic cheap incense smell
