Sceptre Oceana

Salty smoky woody...something. I don't know exactly what this is smelling like... Not sure if I like it...straight out of the box. Very smoky, woody and slightly medicinal, Vanilla is just there to soften the edges...its barely noticeable if you didn't know its effects, because the scent tone is not there. This is almost purely Oudy...but it's a smooth and non-animalic Oud. VERY wearable and inoffensive to the public. EDIT: Okay...if you took "Raghba Wood Intense" and separated its two sides...you'd end up with "Bianco Latte" in one hand...and "Sceptre Oceana" in the other. This, LITERALLY, smells like "Raghba Wood Intense" without ANY of the creamy sweet Vanilla... EDIT: Did a fast-forward fridge-maceration overnight and fixed the "strong-greasy Benzoin" issue. Wore this full-body today on top of "Let the Good Times Roll" and it was AWESOME!! No vanilla to be found in this but it might be my new favorite "Oud" fragrance! I'm going to let this sit a few months and come back to it...

Excellent presentation, heavy bottle, fantastic pressurised sprayer and the most addictive male vanilla benzoin scent that for the money is one of the best that you will find. It's linear but I like that sometimes as long as it is a great scent that you keep on sniffing your arm to. I find this one and Malachite to be very high quality for the price you pay and for that reason will probably blind buy the other two in the Sceptre series just because there is nothing to lose, and for the bottles alone they are supreme. Although upon checking my collection I do have Arabiyat Prestige Nashwa Noir which is a very good clone of Falkar so that takes Amazonite out of the equation and also Arabiyat Aariz (the white one) which is a straight up Tygar clone also. Maybe if I have a few drinks it'll be a no brainer anyway....

17JUN26 UPDATE: WooooooW!! This has turned into the most beautiful skanky-vanilla that I own! There is something inherently "After Sex" smelling about it. I won't go into detail but i have experienced this exact smell on someone in the past. It's LOVELY!!! Wow...letting this sit a few months really brought out its character....AND the vanilla that was missing!! Its still powerful...two sprays is enough to last the entire day and into the night. I still only use this for layering to get a smooth vanillic smoky-oudy hint under whatever else I'm wearing. This frag works wonderfully to masculine-up feminine fragrances. I'm not a huge fan of oud...but this is undoubtedly a very powerful tool in my arsenal of scents... 7/10

#773 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I actually did a side-by-side of this and Bvlgari Orum back in July before it was in the database so I set this aside. I rule this a solid dupe of Orum though the quality of the agarwood is slightly lighter in character, but you could talk yourself out of noticing it. Actually performed better on my skin than the Bvlgari. I had the identical experience with the other Le Gemme dupes from Alhambra. Gotta say I'm not as big a fan of the Le Gemme series as many seem to be. Most really like Tygar, but of the four I tried out I was the least impressed with that screechy citrus frag. I really liked Malachite best of the dupes, but at the price you should definitely get all the Sceptre scents.

I was on a trip to Asia for the first time with some of my best friends, the only other fragrance fanatic showed me the bvlgari line up at the duty free airport section and despite tygar being the talk of the convo orom stuck out the most. I was ready to drop the four or six hundred it was to buy it but I held my excitement. Thankfully so because this dupe is genuinely a life saver. You cant have the exact same measurements down to the micro meter if you buy a knock off ferari but from the right mechanic youll get the same thrills, this does the same trick and saves you the price tag. Truly a great scent.

MMMmmmmMMMMMM! So yummy. Vanilla and amber notes give max projection. Simple composition makes it perfect for layering, but also has niche appeal without a crazy onslaught of notes. For the price, I think it is an incredible scent! I would sometimes mix this with the Tygar dupe, Bronzite for an Orange Creamsicle (more like grapefruit creamsicle) scent that I love. Sometimes, the Sceptre line needs some maceration, but in the end it always rocks. I wear the sceptres and so do two of my other friends. Everyone loves it, and loves the compliments it gets!

I have Bvlgari Orom and I would say Oceana is a very very good alternative. Opening is somewhat medicinal, but after 10 mins you get the mix of : vanilla, woody oud with a resinous powdery and spicy benzoin. Very bold, dark masculin fragrance foe the colder months. The quality isn't the same as Orom, but Oceana is also 10 times cheaper. I would say Oceana is 85-90% similar to Orom. Be aware, the scent dna is quite linear and doesnt change much from opening to dry down likewise with Orom. Name is misleading, this has nothing to do with the ocean.

I am rarely blown away by a scent. This was a blind buy and one of the best this year. A vanilla to die for, 10/10 Edit: So i got a full bottle of the OG. Yeah the OG is smoother and has a leather note note but all in all for what Oceana costs it is probably the best dupe of Orom you can get. Ahambra did a damn good job here, 90% close. In the air it would be hard to tell you are wearing a clone. You could also view Oceana as EDT variant and Orom as EDP. Oceana is a bit fresher as well.

I've owned this for 3 months now. Out of my 125 fragrances this is in my top 3. The oud is there but it isn't the main player. The main note is bourbon vanilla and it's intoxicating. It's hard to express just how awesome this fragrance is. The sillage is loud and it lasts quite awhile. The atomizer is the best I've ever used. It's totally pressurized. Do not hesitate to buy this. I've seen this at discounters for 20 bucks. This is a 10 out of 10 fragrance.

Bought it because I couldn't justify the price tag on the orom. It has a really similar vibe, it starts more sweet and finishes more smoky. I personally like it better, it's easier to wear and last the whole day. To those who smelled both, it smells like 70% bvlgary orom, 30% Tom Form Tobacco Vanille.

This one pretty much stays super woody, slightly resinous, and sweet, but not too much so ,throughout its duration!! Funny thing is, it has nothing to do with the ocean🌊!!️ The box & the name are both very deceiving! But it smells absolutely excellent💯🔥🔥!!️

def 95-99% similar to orom, i passed by it at bloomingdales after buying oceana and decided to test the similarity bc i blind bought it. couldn't rlly tell much of a difference so its pretty spot on. wish it was heavier on the vanilla but 8/10

Im floored that the sillage on this is marked moderate. This fragrance is super loud off my skin and usually my skin doesn't hold fragrances well. Sillage on this for me is a 9/10 and is not moderate at all.

I've had this over 2 months now and it's creeping into beast mode territory. The bourbon vanilla in this is intoxicating.

To my amateur nose... On it's own, a slightly boozy, balsamic, benzoin-centric linear scent. The little bit of oud is medium-soft and not smoky or animalic. The vanilla helps round the fragrance and add a touch of sweetness. Too simplistic to make any kind of statement. A solid skin scent fragrance (for cooler or cold seasons). The sillage is nice. If you're just working away on the computer or lounging around watching something on the big screen or whatever, you'll catch hints of it in the air and it's nice. If you get up and move, it will trail behind you and swirl up and around. If you like to layer, this would be a useful bottle to have. I enjoy masculine vanillas and this was unique to my nose so I purchased a bottle. I paid $25 which was very low when I purchased 20240214. It can can now be easily found from many discount sites in the $20-25 range. $20 on fragrancenet for 100ml is the best price among my list of trusted online sellers as of this review (20250224). Autumn/Winter indoor wear. Lazy days. Informal/family holiday events where you have no desire to stand out. Scent: 6/10, masculine-leaning benzoin Longevity: 6/10, four to six hours Projection: 3/10 Sillage: 6/10, wafts nicely in the air ♂: 7/10 ♀: 3/10

Nose Note #823 Upclose it's not very nice at all, but the sillage is beautiful and sophisticated. It is sort of like Carlisle and Red Tobacco, but very distantly, doesn't come anywhere close in comparison. Performance is average or slightly above average, so nothing very impressive. The scent is nothing very new. The oud is much like Tom Ford Oud Wood, but just the oud note. The composition is very simple and linear. Usually when writing a review I (and I suppose like most other people) sit down and smell the thing upclose on skin, but Oceana is one of those scents that is inconsiderate to smell upclose, it's not what the fragrance actually smells like. The sillage is very different. 7.2/10, not bad at all, but I wasn't impressed

I really enjoy this stuff. The oud is synthetic, and a little strong when you first spray this on, but it calms down pretty quickly and that’s when the magic happens. This leaves a good scent trail that I easily pick up when moving around outside. Creamy, rich, dark vanilla with some smoky, resinous wood. Simple, but well put together. This is actually the kind of thing I wanted Mancera Aoud Vanille to be (though that is also an excellent fragrance), but wasn’t. Really nice on cool evenings, can’t wait to wear this over the winter. It’s $23 on JS, just toss it into your next order for that free shipping threshold and let it do work.

I’m not that into clones of existing fragrances unless there is a reason. I was in a shop full of clones to be honest the original Orom had piqued my interest but never enough to pull the trigger. The smell is pretty close maybe 85-90% performance could be a tad better. Heck for $25 vs retail $530 I pulled the trigger for the few times I feel like reaching for this. Obviously if you’re on a tight budget and need a vanilla fix go for it.

I have never tried Orom. But to me this leans much more in the direction of Ombre Leather or Ombre Leather Parfum, rather than Carlisle or Aoud Vanille. Actually I can't really smell anything that reminds me of Carlisle in this scent. So i guess noses really smell things differently. Good scent all in all, but it had a more leathery feel than i thought it would. Thought this was going to be more vanilla forward than it actually is.

The opening is rough. I bought this after buying the teeny tiny size of the og. First spray, I was saying absolutely not, and considering ways to save for the big bottle of the og. I sprayed this one out and put it away. 1 month later and the opening has mellowed. Mellowed enough that I will put this on skin. Ok, ok! It's close and it's good. I do think with further rest it may even be a 1:1. Not bad for $20 just to see.
